  1. The Hobbit was made in 1977. Although this was probably made for the older "kid" (lots of songs, but not quite so "Disney-cheery" type), it was a rather good film (I actually liked some of the songs ). Like most movies, it doesn't cover "the entire" book, just the main portions and important parts. Forget what ONE person on IMDB said, listen to your fellow SWR members: *** my Obi-wan impersonation *** "You don't need the IMDB reviews. Those aren't the movie reviews you're looking for. Move along and go see The Hobbit (anyway)". Definitely see it, you won't be disappointed!
  2. Day 1100: After the last report, things have sort of slowed down a bit. Therefore I needed the extra time to get some "material" to report. Now it's time to report! Sesswenna sector: Tura Raftican has been captured in her feeble attempt to abduct the Emperor. Mazer Rackus has since tried and failed. Currently floating over Coruscant in their private Vic ISD prison are: Borsk Fey'lya, Lando Calrissian (both captured in the Corellian sector), and Tura Raftican. Han Solo remains on planet as "bait". Prior intelligence indicated Leia Organa was traveling with Luke Skywalker (Jedi student). I surmised a "rescue mission" might have been in the making. Therefore I have recalled Darth Vader to Coruscant to assist in his capture. After a long wait and other intelligence reports, a "rescue" mission was NOT happening. Darth Vader is currently commanding the defense fleet over Coruscant until I find a better idea (which may involve lots of commandos, Nogrhi & droids and go "hunting" for him, a la ESB). Corsin is currently producing Dark Troopers for Coruscant. The CY's at Balmorra are producing CY's for the Moddell sector, the CY's at Bortras are producing refineries for Ghorman, and the Coruscant CY's are producing refineries at Chandrilla. The appetite of the Imperial war machine is ravenous! Maintenance is floating just above the 500 point range, and I must be a bit more selective in what gets produced. I'm short on refineries, but I do have some mines being produced just to keep things balanced for the future. A problem I'm facing is the rebels are fielding many later generation capital ships, but in smaller numbers. I'm still outfitted mostly with first generation Vic ISD's and some ISD's. Luckily the rebels are un-coordinated in their fleet attacks, sending single or small ship groups into combat. I have completed four Star Galleons at Uvena and sent them to the Corellian sector. A rebel Liberator cruiser has shown up at Bortas (a former rebel planet, now totally loyal to the Empire) and has commenced bombardment! I did not add anything to the system when I assaulted it (it has no Gen Cores!). A strike force from the Coruscant fleet is enroute (2 Vic ISD's, 1 dreadnaught, 1 interdictor and 3 Lancers). Hyperspace travel is so slow when there is a great need. Most of the system is wasted (all five advanced CY's have been destroyed, along with mines & refineries. Ten Imperial Army units have been blasted away during the wait for reinforcements. The fleet finally arrives and dispatches the rebel scum, but one Vic ISD is beaten up (he's off to the Uvena shipyards for repairs). The fleet heads back to Coruscant. Final tally at Bortras: two mines remain, one Stormtrooper and one Army unit are intact. Maintenace has plummeted into the 100's! Bortras will be rebuilt; when time permits it will have many advanced shipyards! Chandrilla has now come under attack! After one bombardment, the rebels withdraw. Is this a ploy to pull ships away from Coruscant? I don't think the rebels are that intelligent. They will pay for their audacity! Who do they think they are attacking the home sector of the Imperial Empire?! Five Vic II ISD's are complete (3 went to Coruscant and 2 to the Corellian sector). The advanced shipyards at Svivren and Uvena are primed to produce the ISD II which just became available. Soon I will have my maintenace points, and at the expense of the rebels! Corellian sector: Menndo (my traitor) has arrived home. Wait, don't unpack your bags. I have another assignment for you; go spy on Yavin 4 (again). Bye, bye now. The four Star galleons from Uvena arrived at Selonia to take on 12 Imperial Army units. They join the Imperial task force with five Dark Troopers and three Stormtrooper units to assualt Commenor. Three Mon Cal troops and a LNR battery defend Commenor. No sabotage missions succeed due to the high number of rebel guerillas. Imperial arrogance has again raised its ugly head, I decide to assualt the planet directly without bombardment. The initial assault is repulsed! What a terrible price to pay, nearly all the Army units are gone, with some Dark Troopers and Stormtroopers also. I only have six troop units remaining out of 20! There is only 1 Mon Cal troop left. Charge!! The system is mine, but I have lost another Army unit. Commenor is in uprising without sufficient garrison troops. Borsk Fey'lya is captured! Every system in the Corellian sector has their loyalty shaken (about a 20% drop)! Crap!! Fine! I order every facility on the system "scrapped", then withdraw all troops to the fleet. Let the rebels have this rock, for that is all that it is worth! Bin Essadea and Pter Thanas are doing diplomacy all around the sector. I move the fleet to Xyguine. I send several troop reinforcements to the fleet (scraped up from the other systems). Selonia is now mass producing Army units (I halted previous production of commandos). I have sent Garindan, Labansat, Niles Ferrier and Shenir Rix to assassinate Kaiya Andrimetrum. Another rebel scum is eliminated! With enough troops gathered I assemble for the assault on Xyguine. Pellaeon has been made admiral with Screed as general. Learning from the previous encounter at Commenor, bombardment commences! All defending troops are destroyed! The assault proceeds smoothly. Lando Calrissian is captured! Pellaeon is ordered to do diplomacy which shouldn't take too long as there was already a good Imperial loyalty here. Borsk and Lando are shipped off to Coruscant. Selonia has a sufficient number of Army units now (seven). I send them to the fleet to go take Commenor (again). Intelligence reports show a rebel fleet coming in at Commenor, but in pitiful little groups (if not singly). The problem is there are two assault frigates and a CC9600 frigate coming in (but all individually and on different days). I'm not sure how many rebel ships are waiting for me, so I'm sending a lone dreadnaught in with Screed in command. It's better to sacrifice a single ship, than have my entire fleet wiped! When the fleet arrives, there's only ONE assault frigate waiting there. All the other ships that had arrived earlier, have already departed. Alright. Screed gets his command to withdraw and hypers out after a few parting shots by the rebels. While Screed's enroute, I order the fleet in. My two Vic ISD's and ISD are going to get a workout. I load up with as many Tie bombers as possible (and there aren't many). Most starfighters are Tie interceptors with some Defenders. As each battle begins (and there are several), the single rebel capital ship heads for the ISD. I hold back the fighters until they are all launched, and wait for the rebels to fire first (why get the fighters picked off early I say). The volleys of turbolaser fire go back and forth. The single rebel ship fires as often as all of my capital ships! Each side is taking a pounding. As the frigates shields start to fail, the Tie bombers really start throwing a heavy punch! After the second assault frigate, the ISD has no more shield generators. Now the CC9600 shows up. I put the ISD in its own task force and DON'T give it any orders (it's just sitting there). I figure the rebel frigate will fight its way through the fleet to get to it, so let it run the gauntlet! The CC9600 diverts to one of the Vic ISD's! Shit! I send the ISD in (go, go, go, fly faster!). The Vic is taking a pounding on the shields! The ISD has started firing! The CC9600 shield generators are taking damage! The shields are starting to fail! The Tie bombers are pounding the hull!! The rebel frigate is destoyed!! The Vic has survived and without any super bad damage. The smaller ships that come in are quickly dispatched (a corvette, two gunships, and a Neb-B; all separately). After each fleet battle, loyalty to the Empire increases a bit. There's one last Mon Cal cruiser due in, but not for another 20 days. Plenty of time for repairs. The Mon Cal is no problem, he didn't stand a chance. Loyalty is 98% minimum with some systems at 100%. It's time to send the damaged ships to the advanced shipyards at Drall for (faster) repairs. The shipyards at Drall are constructing four more Star galleons. Garindan, Labansat, Niles Ferrier and Shenir Rix have all been transferred to the Dolomar sector. I've sent the Star galleons from the fleet to Selonia. They have loaded up on Army units. Two Star Galleons are headed to the Churba Sector and two to the Dufilvan sector. Menndo (my traitor) has reported in that his espionage mission to Yavin has failed (again, big surprise here). He's due to arrive in about 100 days, enjoy your trip. I hope you have some favorite places to hang out at on Yavin, because this is the rest of your life's quest. Fakir sector: All is quiet here. Facilities are busy stockpiling for the next campaign. The CY's at Carida have completed the mines/refineries for the last systems in-sector. The CY's at Carida and Bimmisaari are almost complete creating/upgrading the shipyards for Mrisst and Ando. Mrisst and Ando have several shipyards and are currently producing Tie bombers and Defenders. The shipyards at Halowan are producing two Strike Cruisers (I need to upgrade my fleet for encounters with the more advanced rebel ships). I have the fleet consolidated at Halowan, and have moved all commandos onboard the fleet. Raltiir is turning out Army units for future garrison duty. The lack of maintenance is starting to cramp war material production. I'm worried about a rebel blocade or assault on any Imperial system. This would definitely hurt, but I have my cushion as I'm hovering in the 500 range. Uh oh! My worst fears are realized; the rebels have attacked in the Sesswenna sector (reported earlier). OK, Fine!! I'm going to get my maintenance points back NOW! Intelligence missions in the Sluis sector show Sluis Van as ripe for the taking (minimum defenses: 3 Mon Cal troops, two Gen Core I's and an LNR. There are seven A-wings and a Mon Cal cruiser in orbit). My entire fleet (1 ISD, 3 Vic ISD's, 1 interdictor, 4 Lancers, 1 dreadnaught and 4 escort carriers) is heading there way! In a few short weeks the rebels will get the surprise of there life. I have redirected the training facilities at Raltiir to produce espionage and probe droids. When these are completed they will be sent to the fleet. The fleet arrives at Sluis Van. Hello rebel scum. Surprise!! All capital ships go after the Mon Cal cruiser, the Lancers go after the fighters. After the rebel fighters get about halfway to my fleet, I order my fighters to attack, and the Tie bombers to go after the cruiser. The A-wings seem to be lasting longer than the Mon Cal cruiser. I guess being nimble helps sometimes, but they all get destroyed in the end. I have 30+ commandos, and send them down on everything on the system. Once the Gen Cores are gone, I'm going in with full turbolasers. The commandos get everything but 1 Mon Cal troop. Admiral Piett is firing the turbolasers. The assault commences. My maintenance jumps back up to the high 400's (I order all my main shipyards to produce ISD II's, 3 in total so far). I immediately transfer 15 Army units and 3 Stormtrooper units from Halowan to Sluis Van. Also, more Tie Bombers & Defenders. These will take a while to get here. I send the commands to other systems going after Gen Cores and Mon Cal troops. Noval Garaint and a couple of droids are spying as quickly as possible. I have Piett doing diplomacy at Sluis Van (this is going to take awhile). Spying on Sluis Van shows several rebel ships coming my way (again, singly and not in a fleet). I have a CC9600 frigate, a Liberator cruiser, an interdictor and a bulk cruiser with escort carrier are all on their way. They're using the same tactics used at Commenor: they're going after my ISD again and again. The Liberator is the first to arrive. The fighters don't last long and the cruiser itself tries to slug it out with my fleet. My ISD survives, but has minor damage (again those pesky shield generators). The CC9600 tries the same thing, but my fighter reinforcements have arrived. 20+ Tie bombers going after one ship while the entire fleet pummels his shields is a sight to see. He didn't make it halfway across the screen. All other rebel ships suffer the same fate. With my troop reinforcements, I load up the fleet again and assault Umgul. It has no defenses and is loaded with mines/refineries. Maintenace takes another jump! I get my idle facilites back in gear (maintenance is near 200 now). Espionage and probe droids are on the way to Sluis Van. Raltiir is producing more commandos. Dolomar sector: I'm continually sabotaging Sarka & Caprionril. Re-supplies are getting more & more all the time. I'm going after these as fast as I can, but my sabotage missions are now failing about 75% of the time. I don't have many espionage droids left, and without updated intelligence I can't sabotage newly arrived targets. I have commandos sitting around with nothing to target. When I do get a target I send multiple missions to keep them busy. I have finally got some intelligence on Caprionril; several single rebel ships are on the way (2 assault frigates, a CC9600 frigate, a corvette and a bulk transport). There are some more Mon Cal troops and A-wings enroute also. Some of my sabotage missions on Mon Cal and Alliance troops are failing because they are no longer there. A bulk transport that was scheduled to come must have picked them up (I wonder where he is off to?). I'm having my training facilities on Tangrene produce 18 new espionage droids. I've sent 9 to Sarka and 9 to Caprionril; I've already sent my remaining droids to Ketaris. The results are in: Ketair has 12 Wookies, over a dozen mixed spec forces (mostly guerillas) and Crix Madine; Sarka was a failure, but previous missions showed troops and A-wings enroute. I need to get an update soon; Caprionril has something interesting items: 11 Alliance army and 35 Mon Cal troops are on their way! Plus the shipyards there are working on their 6th Dauntless cruiser! Holy Mackerel!! I'm sending my fleet at Kamparas (3 ISD's, 8 Lancers and 1 interdictor) to Sarka, then I'll get updated info and go from there. The defending A-wings are no match, but there are 2 Gen Core II's on the system. The system is garrisoned by 2 Army and 20 Mon Cal troops. I'm sending lots of commando missions against the Gen Cores. Rebel ships are coming in trying to break my blockade (these must be the ships from Caprionril). The Lancers are pretty useless as the rebels aren't fielding too many carriers. I've destroyed all their ships, just "pounding it out". Two of my ISD's now have shield damage. I want to bombard all the troops on these systems SO BAD I can taste it. I've got one of the Gen Core II's on Sarka, but the last one is a tough one. I'm debating jumping over to Caprionril and bombarding them. With all of the rebel troops coming in, I'm wondering which of my systems they're going to go after first. I might have to redirect my CY's to make more Gen Cores, but for which systems? Everyone of them is important, even the systems with just mines & refineries (due to low maintenance points). I originally wanted to split my fleet and send half to the last rebel HQ location, then Yavin just to muck things up. But now I'm not sure. In the meantime I still working on that last Gen Core II on Sarka. The push is on for more raw materials. The Quelli sector is explored but I need garrison troops. The Churba and Dufilvan sectors are actively being colonized. They need CY's after enough systems have been secured. The "ship finder" function only shows 8 rebel capital ships (of course that's only from the intelligence I have gathered). Three of the eight are Dauntless cruisers more than likely under construction. Maybe my hit on their mines/refineries in the Sluis sector hurt them alot. I wouldn't expect them to have a huge fleet considering I have control of roughly four of the six inner core sectors. Now, where is that HQ hiding? I want to get that first before Mon Mothma & Luke. I want the rebels to feel great despair first. That's my current standing. Updates to follow.
  3. For a little more "adult" age material, try Heavy Metal (made in the 80's, the soundtrack is awesome!). I believe they made a follow on, Heavy Metal 2000, but I haven't seen nor heard anything about it.
  4. Defender_16 wrote: Under the original Alliance MC-80 is the Republic Class SD, did the Peace Brigade (PB) have access to such a class of ship? Also, what about the (Alliance Assault Frigate) KDY Frigate? The Alliance CC-9600 should be the Vong interdictor equivalent not a Hapan ship. Weren't the Hapans part of the Allies against the Vong? Hapan ships should go under the original Imperial list. Just a suggestion, make the original VSD & ISD the VSD II and ISD II, then have the II slots dedicated to later model ship classes. I wouldn't think there would be too many original VSD's & ISD's floating around to worry about. But if you don't need the extra ship slots ... leave them in. Maybe make the DS the Center Point Station? Make the construction costs enormous enough that you might not want it, but "somewhat" plausible to have. The recharge rate should be changed to allow for fast firing (I would say a magnitude better than the original DS). Of course the Station was "stationary" and shot across sectors, which is impossible in the game. If you make it a ship at least you can use it. I vote for keeping the SSD (if my vote even matters) and moving it up earlier in the "research" hierarchy (if you're going that route and not just making all ship types available at game beginning), because they were around, available, and used in combat. Keep up the posts, this TC is sounding interesting.
  5. If your going to swing by Geneva to visit Mad, you should at least stop in at Lucerne and/or Interlaaken. I've been to the former (Lucerne) a couple of times and it's very nice to visit. I've seen lots of Basel and the nearby country side, but I had lots of time and not quite so short a schedule as you. The Black Forest in Germany is only a stone's throw away from there. The beer is superb over there!!! There are several castles to see (some are very "local", but still very interesting ). Did I mention the beer is superb over there? Ahhhh!! What delicious beer Keep us informed of your itinerary, you sure have plenty of time for planning.
  6. Wait until the auctions get closer to closing, then there is a real bidding frenzy and the prices really shoot up!
  7. Defender_16 wrote: That being said, you need to update your lists accordingly. All alliance units (ships, starfighters, troops, facilities, characters, etc.) need to be Yuuzhan Vong types, and all Imperial units become New Republic, Remnant, Allies types. Currently you have them reversed.
  8. So young, and yet a Grand Moff!!
  9. Man, that makes me feel like Yoda (the age part that is) .

I don't know (or think) he was a Light side Force "glowie". Maybe an "anti-glowie" ? As for "Dark Side" or "Light Side", I don't think there are any "sides", but I do believe it depends on the perception of the user. If you think there is a "Dark Side" (whether you are a force user, good or bad), then it surely exists for that person. Could you image a true opposite of the "Dark Side"? The "Light Side" master would be Jedi Master Chuckles the Clown, where everything is bright and cheery. If anger and Force lightning aged/deformed Palpatine, what would happen to Chuckles? In a mock battle with Palpatine, he would go into severe belly whopping laughes, unleashing hordes of Force butterflies, bubbles and flowers! All of which would stop/counteract the Dark Side Force lightning (is Force lightning a "Dark" power? Why can't the good guys use it? Maybe you have to be real angry to generate it which is not a "good" Jedi quality). Chuckles would be "deformed" by always having a smile, maybe a really white complexion and an excessive amount of blood flow to his nose (hence why clowns have white make-up and red noses). Just a stray thought that got out of the ol' corral.
  11. Patience young padawan. It's almost time to post again, I'm just waiting for a few more days/events to pass. It will be soon.
  12. OK, Luke Skywalker is growing up on Tatooine and Leia Orgunray, I mean Organa , is growing up on Alderaan. At what point does Luke say "Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, how come my last name is Skywalker and yours is Lars? You told me my mother died when I was very young, and my father was a freighter pilot. But which of them is related to which of you? And where are my grand parents? We never visit any of the relatives, do we even have any? Conclusion: Palpatine is Anakin's father. Luke almost kills his father (Darth Vader/Anakin), who DOES kill his father (Palpatine-Luke's grandfather). Since Darth Vader/Anakin eventually dies (shortly thereafter), he was indirectly killed by Luke. Now jump a bit into the future when Luke's son Ben is in his teenage years: Luke: "Ben quit bringing home weak-minded girl friends. Your mother is tired of finding strange clothes in your room. You're going to be the death of me" The question is indirectly or directly? The Skywalker family history is for the sons to kill off the fathers. Just a thought .
  13. Gotcha! I eventually sent an espionage mission there and confirmed they really are there (all three of them! Wedge, Ackbar & Adar Tallon). I also sent two groups of six commandos to do uprising missions (just to keep them on their toes!)
  14. DarthTofu wrote: Just cut and paste what's important to your point. Everything else is a waste.
  15. Uhhh, SM, I don't understand your reference (rebel ship designer with foiled occurances of what?) . Would you elaborate for me?

  17. I know that it has been mentioned before: recalling then re-deploying fighters (as often as you want). But I have a little "twist" on the deployment of fighter squadrons. Currently all the fighter "types" are grouped together, and sometimes the same type is spread out among a couple of groups (red, blue, green & gold). My idea would be to "define" the fighter groups. Place what fighters you want into each group, just like you place capital ships into fleets and/or task forces. That way there could be a mix of types within a group (i.e. Tie interceptors mixed with Tie bombers, etc.). With a mix of fighter and bomber type starfighters, you can get have a more efficient "dogfight". For example: Currently if I have blue squadron (Tie interceptors) attack starfighters and red squadron (Tie bombers) attack capital ships, if the enemy starfighters are all destroyed then blue squadron flies around like pidgeons being shot up by capital ships, while red squadron goes off to try & complete its mission. It's up to you to re-order the fighters new commands. If they're "off screen" during a battle or you don't hear the "So-n-so squadron requesting orders" then you're wasting your assets. If they were a "mixed" squadron, then by default the Tie interceptors of blue squadron would attack ANY opponent attacking the Tie bombers of blue squadron (with fighters as the priority, then capital ships). So if enemy X-wings attack, then the Tie interceptors would attack them first until all of them are destroyed or all the Tie interceptors are destroyed, and then attack any capital ships going after the Tie bombers. If no one is attacking the Tie bombers, then the Tie interceptors would attack whatever is the target of the Tie bombers. Should the Tie bombers come under attack by someone later, then the Tie interceptors would "switch" targets giving priority to anything attacking their "charge" first. This way your "bombers" would always have fighter cover (provided there are still some left to do the job). If enemy fighters are going after your capital ships, the Tie interceptors of blue squadron would not attack them (because their orders are to "protect" their bombers). With four fighter groups available, you could always have one or two dedicated to anti-fighter action, have one or two mixed groups to go after capital ships/fighters, or whatever. If going after starfighters, it would be nice to prioritize bombers over the fighters if desired. I would rather take out the B & Y-wings, before going after A & X-wings, because the former do more damage to capital ships (theoretically). I hate seeing my Tie interceptors fly off after A-wings (let's say going after the Tie interceptors themselves), while X-wings go and decimate my Tie bombers because the have no fighter cover. Basically I would be sacrificing the Tie interceptors to the A-wings, so the Tie interceptors could protect the Tie bombers from the X-wings. If the Tie bombers can take out a couple of capital ships with the lose of some Tie interceptors, then it's worth the trade. A strategy I have (as the Empire) is to have a couple of Tie Defenders, and everything else whatever. Usually all the rebel fighters go after the Tie Defenders and don't mess with the other Tie's until the Defenders are all destroyed. So, the Tie Defenders go off on some wild runs (via the navigation waypoints) taking the enemy fighters temporarily "out of the fight". My other starfighters are left unmolested in the mean time to carry out their attacks. Basically an expanded tactical fighter control.
  18. That's why I prefer to do all research missions on systems that have a large (if not 100%) loyalty .
  19. Day 850: Sesswenna sector: All diplomacy in this sector is complete. Every system is 100% loyal to the Empire. Advanced shipyards are under construction at Svivren, which is currently producing Tie interceptors. The shipyards at Uvena are almost all advanced shipyards, and have only 2 more Lancer frigates to construct. Galleons are next on the list. Chewbecca has failed in his attempt to abduct the Emperor. Tura Raftican is now on her way to have a try at it. Corellian sector: Vagran is 100% loyal to the Empire and Darth Vader has moved to Corfai for his next diplomacy mission. Droids, commandos and army regiments are currently being produced in this sector. Commenor is blockaed by the Lancer frigates, while the ISD and interdictor went back to Selonia (the shipyards) for repairs. Pellaeon has brought Drall over to the Empire. Rebel ships are due in at Xyquine: a gunship, Neb-B, corvette and assault frigate. A bulk cruiser has already arrived. I'm going to need a little more firepower to take these guys on, and especially if I want to eliminate them quickly without much damage to myself. As soon as I get some galleons, Commenor is going to be assaulted (I have 25 troop regiments on Selonia waiting to be picked up). Garindan has escaped from Commenor, after an extended stay. Menndo (my traitor) has reported in that his espionage mission to Yavin has failed (again, big surprise here). He's due to arrive in about 100 days, enjoy your trip. Fakir sector: My own espionage mission on Halowan has paid off; the rebel fleet is on the way and will arrive in 12 days. All fighters from Raltiir and Carida are sent to Halowan. The rebel fleet is huge (1 bulk transport, 3 med transports, 2 Corellian gunships, 10 corvettes, 1 dreadnaught, 2 Neb-B's, 2 Mon Cal cruisers and 11 fighters), I have 3 escort carriers, 4 Lancers, 2 Vic ISD's, 1 dreadnaught, 8 Tie interceptors, 50 Tie bombers AND 1 interdictor cruiser. The rebels can't escape this time. I have them outnumbered in starfighters, but they have more capital ships. This will be a close battle. The rebels arrive, they sure brought alot of targets for me. I have the Lancers and escort carriers go for the rebel fighters, the 2 Vic ISD's and dreadnaught are going for a Mon Cal cruiser. The Tie interceptors are a flight group and are to attack the rebel fighters. The Tie bombers are broken into three groups: 25, 13 and 12 bombers in each group. The larger group goes for the other Mon Cal cruiser, the two smaller groups go for the dreadnaught and a Neb-B. And away we go. The rebel starfighters go after the larger Tie bomber group. They're taking out a few, but the Tie interceptors are getting them also. The Corellian gunships and corvettes are moving in. The larger Tie bomber group is decimating the Mon Cal cruiser, the other Tie bombers are making their runs. I'm constantly hearing about Tie bomber losses, it doesn't seem to stop. The Vic ISD's and dreadnaught are exchanging fire with the Mon Cal. The Lancers have finished off the rebel fighters, I order them and the escort carriers to attack the Corellian gunships. The Tie interceptors help against the gunships. The Tie bombers have destroyed the Mon Cal cruiser and a Neb-B is a hulk. Half the Tie bombers are gone. I send the Tie bombers after the dreadnaught and its gone. There are fewer Tie bombers yet again, the corvettes are wreaking havoc on them. I send them on their final mission after the last Neb-B. The Vic ISD's and dreadnaught finish off the last Mon Cal cruiser. All of the "big" rebel ships are gone (1 dreadnaught, 2 Mon Cal cruisers and 2 Neb-B frigates, plus the two gunships), only the transports and corvettes are left. But it isn't all pretty for me either, all my starfighters are gone. 1 Vic ISD is a hulk, the other has major damage to all systems, and is still barely firing. The corvettes are piling it on. For some reason, only about four of the ten rebel corvettes are concentrating their fire, the others are just sitting there or flying around like idiots. That's OK with me though. Half my Lancers and the escort carriers are acting like the rebels (being morons sitting or flying around). I give the command to attack rebel ships, they respond affirmative but don't do anything. Imbeciles! So it's basically 2 Lancers, the dreadnaught and the interdictor taking on four fresh corvettes and 1 med transport that keeps flying in and taking pot shots. They're all going after the dreadnaught. The dreadnaught is holding his ground pretty good. As 1 corvette gets taken out, the rebel fleet "shifts around" and one of the "stupid" corvettes wakes up and starts firing. The interdictor is totally unmolested and is beating down the corvettes. As long as the dreadnaught holds out, between it and the interdictor they are taking out the corvettes slowly but surely. The rebel fleet is maneuvering again, the dreadnaughts shields are starting to give. One of the Vic ISD's is back in the fight! Shields are up and weapons barely there! The rebel fleet is shifting and four corvettes are attacking it. It only lasts a few shots and is back out-of-action. The delay is enough for the dreadnaught to get some shield strength restored. There are only four corvettes left plus the transports. The dreadnaughts' shields are going down again, but there aren't as many corvettes. It's going to be close, but I still have the interdictor. The dreadnaughts shields are gone, and is taking hull damage. There's only one corvette left and he's barely hanging in there. Now the last corvette is toast, and the transports are coming under fire. The other Lancers and escort carriers are attacking the transports now (it's about time!). The rebel fleet is destroyed! Other than the starfighters I haven't lost any capital ships! Of course the 2 Vic ISD's are junk, and the dreadnaught is damaged. Mrisst goes neutral after the battle, and Roget Jiriss is captured on Halowan. Ando has a LARGE imperial loyalty, but there are 15 troops and 12 A-wing squadrons there. I don't have any starfighters, and my major ships for bombardment are out of action. Ben Willard is conducting diplomacy for the rebels on Ando. It's going to be a race; will I get some fighters and ship repairs done in time to bombard Ando so it will join the Empire, or will Willard get support shifted too far back to the rebels for the bombardment to do any good? We'll have to wait and see. Pter Thanas is doing diplomacy at Mrisst, and has brought them to the Empire. I have finally enough Tie bombers to max out my fleet. The Vic ISD's are repaired for the most part (some shielding & weapons recharge are still below normal). I have ceased all sabotage missions at Ando as the fleet is on its way. The fleet has arrived, the rebels have 12 A-wings, a bulk cruiser and an interdictor to stop me. HA! All of the Tie bombers go after the interdictor, the Vic ISD's & dreadnaught go after the bulk cruiser and Lancers after the A-wings. I lose a few Tie bombers (about 1/3), but they make quick work of the interdictor. The bulk cruiser didn't last long either. I sent the Tie bombers after the remaining A-wings when they finished off their target. Sabotage has only reduced the garison by 2 troops, 13 remain. Time to fire up the turbolasers! Admiral Piett gives the command, and 1 shot is all it takes to wipe out ALL rebel troops. Ando joins the Empire! The entire Dolomar Sector belongs to the Empire! A Mon Cal cruiser has straggled in. He's toast real fast. I need to get a Tie bomber resupply now that I'm down to ~50% capacity. Sluis & Farfin sectors: Through regular espionage missions, I have picked up a little on systems in these sectors. The systems fall into one of two categories: 1) all mines & refineries with nothing else, or 2) the systems have facilities which are defended by 3 Mon Cal troops, 6-8 A-wings (some X-wings in there) and two Gen Cores (maybe some LNR/KDY batteries). I keep getting messages that the Empire has interrupted a ship design mission on Sullust. Interesting that I'm not actively doing any activity in that system, much less the entire sector! A wild guess on my part puts the rebel HQ at Altarrn in the Glythe sector (just a guess. I saw refineries being sent to that system & I show it as "empty"). Dolomar sector: I'm continually sabotaging Sarka & Caprionril. Re-supplies are getting more & more all the time. Each system is getting 7 A-wings squadrons (some have already arrived). I'm going after these as fast as I can, but my sabotage missions are now failing about 50% of the time. Rebel characters are now deployed in this sector. Sarka is getting 20 troops! Again, as they arrive I'm going after them. All of my Lancers are complete at Kamparas, and a dozen Tie Defenders are in work. I want to get two escort carriers next, then go visit my rebel neighbors. I'll load up on commandos & droids first. Outer Rim: Jerjerrod continues with diplomacy, and I'm ferrying troops as they arrive to the empty systems. Apparently my galleon that ran into the rebel HQ has disappeared. I don't remember that it was destroyed, but it is no longer found in the game (how weird?). My last save at day 750 shows it in the Yag'Dhul system. It's now gone! I don't remeber any messages saying it was sabotaged or anything. Maybe it's the Bermuda Triangle! It's only a galleon, I'll go build some more.
  20. Thanks for the encouragement , I'll keep the posts coming. Day 750, a lot has happened in the last 100 days. Current status: Sesswenna sector: Bin Esada is working diplomacy at Yaga Minor (and nearly complete, then Sesswenna will be totally Imperial!). I scraped up enough troops and sent my Coruscant fleet up there and just took it. Commandos/characters based out of Chandrila pulled off quite a few sabotage missions to really thin things out. The rebel fleet (1 med transport) fled. It was tracked going to Ketaris in the Dolomar sector. Pellaeon has completed diplomacy on Svivren. The ISD at Uvena has been completed along with an interdictor cruiser. Two more interdictors are almost complete. I took the Lancer frigates from the Coruscant fleet and sent these with the ISD & interdictor to the Corellian sector (Hoping to catch a few Mon Cal cruisers coming in to visit). Chewbecca failed in his abduction of the Emperor, and Page has been sent again. Page was captured this time (fool). Now Chewbecca is coming back. Maybe I should fix up a cozy cell next to Han's? Corellian sector (alot has happened here): My strike fleet from Coruscant is heading for Xyquine (in my rush to deploy, I didn't load any fighters, but I have 4 Lancers). I arrive earlier than the Mon Cal cruiser as planned, but there are 7 A-wings to contend with (no big deal). UGH! The damn A-wings have practically wiped out my shield generators on my brand spanking new ISD! Shit this is going to hurt now. I'm having 6 Tie interceptors flow in from Selonia, but they won't arrive in time before the Mon Cal cruiser engagement. Here he comes! I send everybody in (but the ISD) to get in as many shots as possible before he fires at the ISD. When he gets in range, I order the ISD to commence firing. They're going back & forth, but now the shields are toast. His shields have taken a pounding. I order the ISD to maneuver away. The Mon Cal follows & my other ships keep shooting. The ISD has run its course, I set up additional way points, but he's going so slow. The Mon Cal opens up again, might as well duke it out. We're both into each others hull. Eventually I win, but at a high cost. Everything is damaged & my hyperdrive is gone. I have 6 days before another Mon Cal comes in. Six days go quick, here he comes. I send the Tie interceptors in along with the rest of the fleet. I'll try and hold back/dodge with the ISD. The Mon Cal is taking a beating but he keeps coming. Time to duke it out. Things go a "little" better having the Tie interceptors with me, and the Mon Cal cruiser finally falls. The hyperdrive is working, but the ISD is now one beat up bucket. I going to Selonia to pick loads of commandos, droids & characters to go rescue Darth Vader on Vagran (he was captured). I have injured Mazer Rakus & Borsk Feylya on Corfai with the Nogrhi. All military presence is practically none existant there. Drall is constantly being resupplied A-wings & I keep blowing them up. My fleet arrives at Vagran with loads of people. The fleet makes short work of the A-, X- & Y-wings (7 fighters all together). Corfai goes neutral after the space battle (hurray!). Commandos are going after the Gen Core and the 3 Mon Cal troops (that uses up all 22 commandos I brought). 9 Nogrhi go to rescue Darth, and 5 go to assassinate General Bren Derlin (leaving about 12 in reserve). I only have 4 droids, so off they go-a-spying. My assassination attempt fails, 1 Mon Cal troop is gone with the other missions failing. The droids come through, Borsk and Tura Raftican are also here. I send my remaining Nogrhi at all 3 rebel characters. My commandos have been whittled down abit from the last missions. I'm going for the Mon Cal troops again. All my assassinations fail and no Nogrhi come back, but at least Borsk is injured. Checking the mission screen, my rescue mission is still proceeding. I got another Mon Cal troop, but I'm down to my last 6 commnados. My droids got toasted on the last mission. My rescue mission fails without anybody returning. Shit, now I'm going to have to assualt, but I don't have enough troops with me. Crap! Loyalty to the rebellion is fading fast though. I get lucky and the last Mon Cal troop gets blown away. Darth escapes (with Niles Ferrier, he's been here awhile also). Vagran & Drall all go neutral, and Corfai joins the Empire. Whoooppee! I immediately have Darth do diplomacy at Vagran, and they're converting fast. I send a couple of troops to Corfai to hold the fort. I send the fleet back to Selonia to get more Imperial commandos & replace fighters. Next stop Commenor. I make short work of the 6 A-wings. I'm sending down commandos to take out 3 Mon Cal troops and some infiltrators. I lose all my commandos over the next couple of days. Shit! I'm going to have to wait this out until I can get some troops, and the ships to bring them. There are 24 guerrillas here, no wonder none of my missions work. I hope those shipyards at Uvena finish the interdictors quickly so I can get a couple of galleons. Fakir sector (a lot of action here also): My espionage missions on myself are paying off. I'm finding out in advance when rebel fleets are coming in, and moving my large fleet of Tie bombers (20+) to the system in question. One of these days, I'm not going to be so lucky. It's time for a change, the best defense is a good offense. I send my fleet to Ando (2 Vic ISD's, 1 dreadnaught and 4 Lancer frigates). Without the additional Tie bombers, here come the rebel fighters/ships (they're not running now). I hold my ground. My ships are engaging the fighters, and now it's time to run. I take out quite a few fighters before hypering out. My fleet arrives at Palanhi. Both Vic ISD's have shield generator damage (1 light the other heavy). After a week one Vic ISD is repaired. Halowan has come under attack! Another rebel fleet (1 Mon Cal cruiser, 1 gunship & 2 med transports) show up. They run off from my plethora of Tie bombers (also, my two escort carriers with Tie bombers have arrived!). I send my fleet from Palanhi to Mrisst. I wipe out the few fighters and use commandos on the 3 Mon Cal troops. It's time to head back to Ando. I'm going to whittle down those fighters. When I get there the fleet is gone, but there are a dozen A-wings waiting for me. My fleet plus the five Tie bombers make quick work of them. The planet is undefended, so I get commandos from Berchest and Palanhi over here ASAP. There must be 20+ troops sitting around here. Time to crank up the turbolasers! I have Piett as my admiral and only make 1 bombardment a day (to make sure I don't screw up sector relations). Rebel troops are dying by the hand fulls. When the commandos finally arrive they take out the 3 shipyards (and an uncompleted interdictor cruiser goes to pieces as a bonus) and work on the 3 advanced construction yards. The big rebel fleet shows up at Halowan while I'm away. But they're not sticking around to engage my 30+ Tie bombers. This means they're heading back to Ando. I leave a day before they arrive (all rebel troops are destroyed & I did leave two commando missions going on the CY's when I left). They eventually were completed. I have an interdictor built at Halowan, and am now constructing two more escort carriers. When the carriers come online, I'm going to go looking for that big rebel fleet. I hope I can take them by bringing along the four escort carriers and 24 additional Tie bombers! Hurry up carriers. Also, 15 additional rebel troops and six A-wings are at Ando. After I take out the rebel fleet, I'll take them out. Dolomar sector: Sarka & Caprionril are constantly getting A-wing re-supplies. Now there are troops, spies & recon units coming. I have a ton of droids, but I sent about half my commandos to Berchest to help out in the Fakir sector. I'm building more commandos as quickly as possible. I have 2 spy missions running per system, plus on my home base (Tangrene). Some of the A-wings don't stay long enough to get blown up (I thing they're moving them to the Fakir sector). I'm also taking out new facilities as they arrive (shipyards, Gen Cores & training facilities). My ISD at Kamparas is complete, now I'm constructing an interdictor. The rebel fleet fleeing Yaga Minor is at the Ketaris system and I want to smash them up. But, I need the interdictor first. There is a rebel interdictor in hyperspace heading there as well. The interdictor at Kamparas is complete. I don't have enough fighters PLUS replacements for sustained battles, therefore I'm constructing 8 Lancer frigates to take on the majority of rebel starfighters. If the Fakir sector fleet does wipe out the rebel fleet, I'll take back my two escort carriers (with Tie bombers). I think I'll use this fleet (1 ISD & interdictor, plus 8 Lancer frigates) to patrol the rebel sectors, wiping out fighters and looking for the rebel HQ. Hopefully, it won't run into any "heavy" rebel fleets. The Lancers have to be completed first. Sluis sector: Apparently the populace of Denab don't like the rebels. I keep getting "vital information" about that system. There still is a considerable Imperial loyalty there (I guess all of their diplomats are currently busy). I sent a half dozen commandos on an uprising mission. Soon I'll send an espionage mission and maybe try to sabotage any garrison troops (I need system info first though). Maybe I can get this system into uprising, or better yet hit all of the garrison troops at once and swing the system to the Imperial cause (although I think it will go neutral first). This could be my foothold into the Sluis sector! My uprising mission to Denab has failed. I have intelligence that Ben Willard is doing diplomacy. I'm sending more droids and another uprising mission anyway. Farfin sector: Through an espionage mission elsewhere, the rebel HQ has left Khomm. It's gone into "hiding" again. I knew it wouldn't stay there long. Calaron sector: One neutral system remains & Jerjerrod is going to work on them. Kessel now has 8 advanced CY's and is constructing 4 advanced CY's for the Atrivis sector. Kubindi has 14 energy slots and is designated to be a super-shipyard. First I need to increase my mines & refineries as there is starting to be a serious lack of refined materials for new projects. Mine production has started. The CY's at Kessel are available again, but Kubindi has been hit with a natural disaster (14 energy slots are now 4. That sucks!). I'll just concentrate on mines/refineries now. Jerjerrod is done, so he's off to the Atrivis sector. The Atrivis and Mayagil sectors are completely explored, but there is a lack of troops to hold the empty systems. I don't have any diplomats available to sway the neutral systems out here. I guess Jerjerrod is going to be very busy out here in the outer rim. The advanced CY's are complete and refineries are being built on the one other system I hold in this sector. Garrison troops are needed desparately. Six troops have arrived at Dantoonie (with six more on the way) and have been dispersed throughout this sector. I'm using the galleon to explore the Glythe sector. Surpise, I found the rebel HQ at Fornax! Too bad the galleon isn't built like an SSD (fully loaded of course), or I would have taken out the rebel HQ. I'm no match for the rebel fleet & am forced to flee. I don't have any ships nearby, and surmise that the rebel HQ has already left for another destination. I'll be back!
  21. Addendum to my previous status report: All troop and facility research has been exhausted. Bevel Lemelisk has been transferred to ship research. Other researchers have command positions or are conducting sabotage/espionage missions. The Calaron sector (outer rim) is almost totally colonized. The Atrivis and Mayagil sectors are almost completely explored. Kessel has advanced CY's under construction. Day 650, current status: Sesswenna sector: Two more Vic ISD's have joined the Coruscant defense fleet. A dreadnaught from the initial outer rim survey is returning to Coruscant. I've sent the two galleons to the outer rim to explore/colonize. Construction has started on an ISD. All CY's are upgrading to advanced CY's. Several Dark Troopers are being constructed for assault/garrison duty on critical systems. Following those, I'm needing regular army units to send to the outer rim for colonization. Pellaeon is finished with Diplomacy on Balmorra; his next stop is Bortras. Espionage missions at Bortras and Svivren are continuing to keep me updated on rebel missions and reinforcements. I've sabotaged all rebel shipyards at Svivren. Svivren was just assaulted by my upgraded fleet (2 Vic ISD's, a dreadnaught & 4 Lancer frigates). The 6 X-wings were no match. Yaga Minor is the last rebel system and (that final assault will end rebel presence in the Sesswenna sector). The abduction mission of the Emperor by Page failed (of course). New intelligence shows Chewbecca is now enroute to abduct the Emperor (but he won't rescue Han! What a friend). Corellian sector: espionage and sabotage missions continue. Rebel reinforcements continue to come in. I've been trying to wipe out all shipyards, training facilites and CY's as quickly as possible. Then reinforcements will have to come from out-sector. Commenor has several advanced training facilities, but because of the 20+ guerrillas I can't get any sabotage missions to succeed. Vagran is also turning into a tough nut to crack. Niles Ferrier was just captured on an espionage mission there. Damn! Now Darth Vader has been captured on Vagran trying a sabotage mission. I'm turning out Noghri commandos at my training facilities now. Drayson has completed a dimplomacy mission on Xyquine (my uprising missions kept failing) and is now on Denab (Sluis sector). A Mon Cal cruiser is due in a weeks time and a CC interdictor is due at Xyquine in about a month. These will be the only ships in this sector. I may have to divert some of my Coruscant fleet to run them off. Talon Karrde is doing diplomacy on Commenor. That system has a significant imperial following. I've been trying uprising missions, but haven't had much progress. All shipyards (save 1) have been destroyed on Drall (I want to keep rebel ship research going, so I can have some good ship battles later in the game). Eventually I'll destroy that last shipyard so Ackbar, Wedge & Adar Tallon will go somewhere else for research. Commenor will definitely be the first system assaulted in this sector, & Drall the last. Menndo (the traitor) has just reported in, his espionage mission to Yavin failed (big surprise). It'll be about 100 days before he gets back. Fakir sector: With barely time to spare, I sent all Tie interceptors from Halowan to Raltiir (Halowan is temporarily defenseless). It's a gamble, but that large rebel fleet going to Raltiir has me nervous. The rebel don't have any training facilities in this sector & I have six advanced there. I haven't had any time to have Gen Cores built, as CY's in this sector or sparse (I have 4 advanced CY's, & I keep sabotaging the rebels). The CY's are busy adding advanced shipyards to Halowan, then I'll update the old ones. The rebel fleet has finally arrived. I have them outnumbered in starfighters, but they have more capital ships. I'm sending ALL Tie bombers after the 2 Neb-B's, my Vic ISD & dreadnaught are going after the Mon Cal cruiser. The Lancers can go after the fighters & the Tie interceptors are also going after the Neb-B's. I'll deal with the corvettes later, if needed. The rebels are fleeing!! Cowards! I'm sending half the Tie bombers & interceptors back to Halowan, plus the fleet. I better keep up on my self spying missions to have advanced knowledge of that fleet. I can't go after them, as I don't have any carriers (yet) for the starfighters. Halowan has finished the last of the Tie interceptors. More Tie bombers are in the works. Pter Thanas has al100% loyatly on Raltiir, next stop Palahini. Bin Esada has completed his mission so I'm sending him to Coruscant to help with the recently assaulted systems. The rebel fleet has returned (bigger than ever! 12 corvettes, 2 Neb-B's, 2 dreadnaughts, 1 Mon Cal cruiser, 1 bulk cruiser, 3 med transports & 1 bulk transport. They have 17 troops & 9 fighters). I have 12 Tie bombers, 4 Tie interceptors, 2 Vic ISD's, 1 dreadnaught & 4 Lancer frigates). The Lancers & interceptors go after fighters. The Vic ISD's & dreadnaught go for the Mon Cal, and 6 Tie bombers at each Neb-B. Hopefully I can at least do some damage before I get wasted. The rebels are fleeing (again)!! Cowards! They have run to Ando, but there is another Mon Cal cruiser, med transport and corvette on the way. I'm sending 2 escort carriers with Tie bombers from Kamparas (Dolomar sector) to Halowan as reinforcements (48 day travel time, I hope they make it in time). The Halowan ship yards are making another dozen Tie bombers. I think that's the only thing saving my butt right now. They're relatively cheap/quick to make and can put a punch on capital ships. There's a CC interdictor under construction at Ando (number 3). I've also sent all starfighers from Raltiir to Halowan (they couldn't stop the rebels if they showed up, so I might as well use them for Halowan). Dolomar sector: All war material has been destroyed on Sarka. Caprionril is now under the gun of my commandos. The last of the shipyards & A-wings are being targeted. Espionage missions have discovered 6 A-wings in hyperspace for Sarka. They'll be visited soon. I have some time before they arrive. Rebel missions to my systems have dropped off dramatically (since I keep sabotaging their spec forces when I get the chance). The 6 CY's on Balfron are all now upgraded & making advanced shipyards for Kamparas. Kamparas has been steadily building up a large group of Tie Bombers & interceptors. Two escort carriers are now complete for the starfighters. These are THE only ships in the entire sector. I'm having an ISD constructed now, and when it's complete, a few Lancers will be nice. I guess Jerjerrod is going to be very busy out here in the outer rim. The advanced CY's are complete and refineries are being built on the one other system I hold in this sector. Garrison troops are needed desparately.

  23. 49 for me (mostly lame )
  24. I don't know? Maybe Supreme Chancellor Palpatine called for a "private" meeting with Senator Padme. Then using his Jekyll-n-Hyde routine, had Darth Sidious erase her memory of the mitochloridian "insertion". Maybe Anakin isn't really the father .
  25. I would say "Live long and prosper" , but with 5000+ posts it's a moot point . Congrats Trej!
