I don't know if that's even a final concept we're going for. I'd love to hear your suggestions about what we should do for the site. Something unique that isn't offered anywhere else.

Actually the fans did have a chance to choose some of what characters to add 1) Not possible with the current level of mods (ala, no source code) 2) Not sure what is possible here.. maybe just a lot of space padding that needs to be eliminated 3) Possible, but unlikely. We want to try to keep it an original work (within reason) 4) Feel free to check them and list each one.. that will help us a lot! 5) Not possible

I certainly know the history behind it, but I really don't think you want to market PFF as "the site that got screwed by Petroglyph" While people will certainly recognize you for the post, that really won't attract any new visitors or sustain visits from the current ones. You can remind them that the site is here all you want.. but unless they are interested in the site, they aren't going to post. I'm guessing you're going to stick with Petrogrlyph content right now? Who's gong to be managing this? What is going to be written.. and who does what? I'm guessing a model you may want to use is Relic. They're fan site is great.. a forum so active that Relic is using them as their official forums. http://www.relicnews.com

For the website redevlopment, I have to ask... What is the concept behind PFF? Is it this "Gamers Revolution" that Cain wanted? What is a "Gamers Revolution"? Ultimately there must be a concept and a reason for people to visit the site. What makes this different from any other gaming site.. say sites like Gamespot, Gamespy, Shacknews, etc? Those sites really do get reviews and concept before most everyone else. From what I can tell of the forums categories right now, it is a hodge-podge of different things with few forums having but a few threads. I would say the majority of us would be RTS gamers, but the concept behind that seems to be well-done already. The site http://www.rtscommunity.com is one of the better models for a concept, and implementing it well with content.

I did. If you're judging it as a standalone movie, it doesn't make any sense. There's too much that you'll be scratching your head over. As part of the series however, it is widely better than the first movies. Yes it is darker, there's the whole teen angst issues, lots of action and battle, and some good comedy bits. I would say it is on-par with the previous movie, Goblet of Fire. (Is anyone else wondering when the actors grew so tall.. all except Dan, he didn't seem to grow as much as the rest of them hehe)

As you see, the sites been updated to the latest SMF version. I also updated the security, fixed the ads on the themes, etc. Still working on getting a full phpNuke portal working with SMF

There have been a few "alphas" .. at least released internally. "Beta" is = when the general public receives something, at least for most development cyles. We've kept the general usage of "beta" here. Tbere will be more beta releases as necessary. But for now, I think the team is resting a little and seeing what bugs people report.

Definitely a good idea. One repository for all units and mods. Downloads is indeed an issue.. not so much for small mods, but we're not a file server. Bandwidth is better used to serve content. If it becomes an issue, we can look to getting a dedicated file server. My concern is for user-uploaded content. It can be abused pretty quickly, so we'll need some limits and people to review them.

If you decide on phpNuke, I have a lot of experience with it. I can probably use the SMF-Nuke option to get this forums ported over

Dark Nest just seems to be the setup for Legacy. I think its worth reading, at least to give you a better notion when "stuff-hits-the-fan" later on.

We won't put up any download that takes the full content of the Rebellion CD. If budious provides a download that would copy from the user's CD, that may work.

The Unifying Force did seem a little forced. There were certain stories that needed to be concluded, but I felt that The Final Prophecy built up something that never got realized. It wasn't particularly bad book, but it left some stuff that could have been resolved. They probably figured they would leave it for the next books.. Dark Nest and then Legacy.

Yea sadly I couldn't wait a year for the paperback either. I ended up buying Sacrifice with a 20% discount... still more than any paperback price.
