That's probably why we don't have the flurry behind going to the moon (and then to Mars) now. Who is going to beat us to the moon? Wait.. we already went there. Mars... is any nation going to beat us there right now? China does have ambitions to the moon, whether they can pull off things to get their and to Mars, we'll see. It could energize a new space race, but I don't see that happening at the moment.

Because Apple makes more selling the 'Apple' hardware... even if it is now the same as your average PC. PCIe or PCI-X? It's funny that while Apple moved from the PowerPC, all the major consoles run on the PowerPC now. So IBM still wins.

Yep I've beaten the entire game. Multiple times. From what I remember, all the missions in X-Wing (at least the Collector's CD I had) were doable. The missions were pretty hard, but for just annoying, cannot-beat-the-mission bugs - X-Wing Alliance takes the cake. Ever tried the Death Star run with no shields? Impossible... but it was fun trying using the X-Wing map editor.

Wondering if Eville Jedi has a model of it in Warlords... you could check http://warlords.swrebellion.com It would be a different format and higher quality, but maybe your software can import it.

If you're using an image in Rebellion, you want to make sure you keep Rebellion's 256 color palette. -
If you have your own mods, I hope you saved those settings. Reloaded will overwrite whatever you did. Best way really is to reinstall Rebellion

Ooh 40 new characters? If that is an option, even more exciting. I think we may see a bunch more Rebellion editing then. Sadly no. We've never heard from Rebed's creator, Revolution. So there's nothing in the way of a new version. We don't even have the source code. Ideally we'd recode Rebed or create our own... but the efforts to read Rebed's card file format haven't progressed anywhere. (Ultimately for some kind of compatibility with the existing cards out there) You want to tackle a new editor? We'd certainly love to help

Most of the game's data these days isn't text - its high-end graphical models and sounds. Unless you want super-detailed models to really tax off the video card, I doubt you would need such data storage. Of course I am speaking of today. What we'll see from games in the next 5 years, who knows. I have no doubt that Blu-ray or HD-DVD will be necessary for some games. -
I'm just sad they are pushing this issue when other serious work needs to get done. (And I'd be saying this whether it was a Democrat- or Republican- controlled Congress)

Yes, but you must have the same mod changes. It won't work if someone tries to edit it with different settings

It's ironic that the Democratic-majority Congress is complaining that Iraq will be the same "quagmire" as Vietnam. And now their following as their predecessors, trying to cut funding to support our troops and Iraqis, just as they did cutting aid to the South Vietnamese. They fought two years still after American troops got out. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy if you prepared for defeat. The Democrats are already prepared to write history as a defeat of the American presidency.

I don't really see why a missile defense system is so threatening to them. Yes we can shoot down a missile, but if they ever attacked us - would they only use one missile?? Knowing us, we'd give them the technology to build their own missile defense. I wouldn't be surprised if they used it to protect their own country... (North Korea anyone?)

If this world has to be a unipolar world (no fault on us if the Soviets collaprsed on itself), who would you want on top? China, Russia, India.. ? Just saying it could be far worse

I believe the starting fleets code is already there - Eville provides that with Warlords. But for stats and naming, I'm not sure. Maybe he's talking about the EvR project?
