  2. Just make sure you have the proper cooling with the CPU fan and proper airflow in your case. You should be fine, the new Intel CPUs are really much better in terms of power than the Pentium 4 generation. Can I recommend trying out the SMP client? It will really get us a lot of points using the 4 cores. Also, anyone with a PS3 and want to donate?
  3. Some people seem to have it working Can't wait for their better GPU clients though. Then we'll see some better numbers. Donate your not-playing-games time to Folding!
  4. Whenever you get a new computer, you can easily donate the old one to Folding. There are even disk-less setups so you don't need a hard drive - it will use another computer as a server to save and process work units. Thanxs to everyone who's helped out so far!
  5. I don't think save game files work that way. By that point, the planets are already set. If we ever had the Rebellion code, we could possibly set a randomization number. As it is right now, we have no way to do that.
  6. I'm sure even if you're at your computer, you're not using all your processing power anyway unless your running high-end scientific simulations. You still can donate a few hours to help when you're using it and sucking up energy anyway.
  7. Try the FAQ http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ Basically just go install the client for whatever OS you are using. If you're using Windows, I recommend the client Windows 2000/XP/Vista Graphical client And once you install it, just leave the default settings. Set your username to whatever you want, and the team number to 96904 Attending Stanford doesn't mean everyone uses it. It's completely voluntary. You can join any team you want even to it without a team. It's just cool to see a team from SWR work on it. You know all the major computer sites have a team too.
  8. (Because I know some of you guys don't read the news...) You can do something nice for the holiday. And its free too.. no money required. Donate your idle computer cycles to science. Stanford's Folding@Home project uses your computer to help simulate protein folding. http://folding.stanford.edu Every good community has a team. So join our SW:Rebellion Network Folding Team - team# 96904 You can install it no matter what operating system (Windows / Linux / even PS3...). Just install a client and let it go. http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=96904 --------------------- Looks like we have someone already contributing! YEA! What kind of scores do you get and what system(s) are you using?
  9. I'm not a console person Wish we could have subteams and link them together. Then I can see how the SWR crew compares with PFF crew That would be awesome.
  10. Hillarious MSG4 Trailer - Snake plays musical chairs, among other things
  11. Doh! Fixed

  14. How's this: re-dos allowed every 2000 posts? You're getting up there to 4000
  15. Need to post your hw2.log file Patched to 1.1? New profile?
  16. Well we really can't support the crack. (excuse me if I'm reading your post wrong) did you actually run the 1.1 patch installer?
  17. Here there are no rules. We put the ranking system in place to give people something to start with, and we choose Empire vs New Republic for some reason as a setting. Doesn't mean you have to play that way. If you're looking for more structured roleplaying (character creation, rules, set factions), check out the site I run: Star Wars Community - In-Character
  18. Yes those were factions for our roleplaying. As the roleplaying as died off, I guess no one has really used them. I would like to see more free roleplaying here if anyone is interested in playing
  19. Hardy har har. His location identifier says "USA," and in the Americas it still isn't New Years, thus he'd have to be outside the US. BTW: It's "surprise" I should change my Location: temporarily out-of-country
  20. Yes Will Smith can act. We knew that from Pursuit of Happyness already. Sadly I am Legend did not satisfy the scifi nerd in me. The first part was him talking to the dog... the conclusion seemed to just hand-wave everything. Link to image: http://x60.xanga.com/480c3a0bc5333164914671/w124562295.jpg (No, not mine)
  21. It's 2008 where I am! Happy New Year!
  22. The shielding effects were removed to improve performance. Collision detection on the shields was complicated. That's why everything in 0.60 was redone - I believe on the old ships have not been redone yet this way.
  23. I had a friend try that game (he has way more free time than I). Even he said it was creepy.
  24. Ah try running the Reloaded registry script, there should be one to modify Rebellion's settings to load cards again. It should be a .reg file
  25. You'll need to install Rebellion using a full install.
