The biggest, baddest, meanest....
BadSamaritan replied to BadSamaritan's topic in General Discussion
More than likely it is just a fan concept, along with the melevolance class, which i have also never heard of. As to where I found it, Googleâ„¢ is your best freind for this kind of material. -
Most costly, egotistical, delusional, waste of materials, money, and manpower the emperor ever dreamt up. I want one of these babies!!! Imperium "Ultra"-class Star Destroyer: The embodiment of Palpatine's plans for extra-galactic conquest, the Imperium would have been as powerful as a Death Star, but much more mobile. Equipped with a small fleet of capital ships, thousands of fighters, and innumerable support craft, the Imperium would have had virtually unlimited range since it would also have carried several World Devastators to produce needed supplies. With this ship, the immortal Palpatine would have spread the Empire across the universe. Rumors suggest that the crew would also have been "immortal" as well, thanks to cloning equipment that would have been onboard. Thankfully, Palpatine was not as immortal as he had hoped, and the ship never progressed beyond initial planning before his final death. While some die-hard Imperials wanted to try and actually build it to use against the New Republic, saner heads prevailed and the Imperium remained only a terrible dream.

Actually,. part of the agreememnt was that the NR would resore the EV completely and give her a new paint job. After that battle, the EV ended up with a full armament of weapons, and a nice red paint job. Goes to show why you shouldn't deal with Booster Terrik.
-
Dont you mean right after the New Republic abused Terriks' trust and put tons of fake damage all over the vessel so they could use it in the Hand of Thrawn Duology?

Sorry, hate to bother everybody, but I gotta know.

Mty fastest was 113 days, as the imps. I found the HQ in orbit of Ryloth thanks to a lucky espionage mission, and snagged the HQ with Mothma on it. Luke fell with Corellia when I captured the planet. Game. Set. Match. Longest..... a little over 14 thousand days. Had a bloody lockdown on all fronts, with the rebs and I just pounding at each other without end. Neitherside could break the other. But then again, thats what I get for setting all construction/maint costs to 1/1!!!! -
Star Wars Battlefront 2 coming out!

Sorry, but with how lackluster the first one was.... -
Nice find man. Very nice indeed.

you realize that in space, fire has no smoke, right?

Benedict is a hardliner, which is not what the church needs at this point in time. he will fight to keep the church steeped in its current ways. This is not what the church needs right now. What the church needed was someone who knew enough to pick which values were worth fighting for, and which ones they might have to find a middle ground on. Bergoglio would have been a much better choice, IMHO.

Dude, when I mentioned the Harbringer, I was joking!! You brought enough firepower to Adumar to lay waste to a small sector, not create a diversion. But then again, nothing wrong with a severe case of overkill.... By the way, a bit of advice. Protect the Harbringer at all costs. The Mon Calamari will be pissed if you let their fleets flagship get blown to scrap metal.

Im at a loss here as to what to do. I cant post about the mandalorians or Ilos, or else they will get way far ahead of everyone in the timeline, and i will have to put them on hold to let everyone keep up. That, and where is everyone? This started with me, Stellar, DJ44, Trej, and mad, gained a few others, but now it seems that its just down to me stellar and mad, with me being the only one chekcing in on a regular basis. Finals voming around or something?

Ok, as the first peron to reply to this, Im going to be as polite as possible. First off, if you intentionally posted the same message that many times, please dont. We dont much care for that kind of spam. Secondly, there are message forums for this such a thing. Although I am not certain as to the rules pertaining to sellgin credits in that game. And thirdly, welcome to the forums!

Ok, I see your problem. Your using Firefox and Netscape. Get Maxthon, or stick with IE. Life will be better that way.

Piracy: The good, the bad, and the ugly.
BadSamaritan replied to BadSamaritan's topic in Outside Interests
Location also plays into effect when it comes down to legal battles over piracy. Some Copyright laws dont transfer over to certain countries, making it very hard to stop piracy. I knew I was forgetting about something. As for the grey area, thats the main reason the battles over piracy shall never end. -
Piracy: The good, the bad, and the ugly.
BadSamaritan replied to BadSamaritan's topic in Outside Interests
its actually a very grey area that most people try to avoid going into. When the legal fight gets to that point, expect a long pointless legal war over it. -
pi·ra·cy n. pl. pi·ra·cies 1. Robbery committed at sea. 2. A similar act of robbery, as the hijacking of an airplane. 3. The unauthorized use or reproduction of copyrighted or patented material: software piracy. 4. The operation of an unlicensed, illegal radio or television station. This is the most common definition of Piracy. It is also the truth. Piracy, in its truest form, is stealing, which goes against the laws of every government in the world, not to mention goes agaisnt almost every religion in the world. But still it exists, and its newest form is on the internet. Ordinary people, from teenagers to white collar workers to the elderly, can now commit this crime. And much to the annoyance of everyone who tries to stop it, more and more people do it. And like an electonic snowball effect, the more poeple that do it, the worse it gets. And to make matters even worse, it is becoming harder and harder to stop. As people find new ways to stop internet piracy, the pirates themselves find new ways to do it. It started with Napster™, and since then has expanded to include such P2P progerams as Kazaa, E-Donkey, Aries, and the newest and hardest to stop version, Bittorrent. To date, the best efforts to stop internet piracy have come in the forms of the now-legal Napster™ and i-Tunes™, both of which are pay-to-download programs. But they only cover one form of media, and that is music. Which leaves movies and software still being pirated illegally 100% of the time. There are several reasons as to why people choose to pirate media off the internet. Some people do it becuase they are cheap, and refuse to pay for anything they dont have to. Others do it to sample media before going out and buying it. Others do it to replace things that they have lost for various reasons. All of these reasons have legal implications, and thats where all the real fun begins. Because sad to say, while most forms of Piracy are illegal, others arent. And its this distinction where everything goes to hell. The First type of person downloads becuase they are cheap bastards who think "Why pay for something when you can get it for free?". They download whatever strikes their fancy, however they can get it. These people are 100% in the wrong, no matter what they think. In no way does the owner of whatever they download make a profit off of their hard work. Worse yet, the offending pirate may copy whatever they download, and give it to freinds/family, decreasing the profit again. In the end, this becomes stealing, which cannot be justified no matter how hard you try. While some would say "With the prices such-and-such company charges, their basically doing the same thing!". Wrong. It costs money to design, produce, package, ship, and advertise anything that gets sold. And granted, while some companies charge far to much for thier products, others are more then reasonable with their product pricing. There is just no excuse. The second type of piracy can be thought of as sampling, and it can be the hardest version to fight on either end of the legal spectrum. Here is a good scenario for it. A person downlaods a few songs off of a CD he is interested in buying, but he would like to hear more than what the radio plays. He finds that he likes the CD, and goes out and buys it. Was what he did illegal? At first, yes, because he had not paid for the songs he downloaded. But now that he went out and purchaced the CD, he is back over into the legal side of it. Now say he didnt like the CD, but didnt delete what he had downloaded. Then he would be in the wrong. But if he found that he didnt like the CD, and did delete the songs, then he is back into the legal side, due to the fact that he did not keep what he downloaded. This can be done with any sort of media, be it a CD, a video game, a movie, or a peice of software. While it is not the most common type of piracy, it is the hardest from of it to fight in court, whether you are the defendant or not. The final type of piracy, in legal terms, isnt actually piracy at all, although some would still argue that it is. It is when someone downloads something they had previously purchased, but has either lost, or it has become unusable for various reasons. A good scenario would be this. A man purchases a video game, and over the years, natural wear and tear on the disc prevents him from using it anymore. Now he has two choices. Try to find, and buy, a new copy of said disc, or just download a new copy. Finding a new copy may not always be possible, and some people would feel cheated having to pay for something twice, hence the reason they would download it instead. Others would say it is their fault for not taking care of said disc, and should not cheat the system to cover their own mistakes. What most people do not realise is, this form of piracy is perfectly legal, through and through, if you can prove you had already paid for said item. There are no laws preventing a person from making backup copies for themselves, and so long as they do not re-distribute them in any way or form, they are perfectly within the bounds of legality. But, if they do happen to give a copy of it away, then they are in the wrong. Now, it is because of these different forms of piracy that the legal battle over it will be a long, hard fight for any side. More than likely, it will not be one to end any time soon, if ever. Piracy will always exist in one form or another. Only time will tell on how this current battle ends, and where the next one will begin. Until then, the courts will be left to decide who is right and who is wrong. And so far, even the courts are having a hard time figuring it out. Myself, I openly admit to beign a pirate. I have downloaded music, movies, and software. And I have done it for all of the reasons listed above. I have done it to sample albums I was interested in, I have done it to replace games whos discs' were no longer usable, and I have done it because I refused to shell out the 700 bucks for certain software. I have also taught others how to do the same things, which makes me even worse in the eyes of the law. In the end however, it is you, the consumer, who is to make the final judgement over whether or not piracy is illegal, be it in a few of its forms, or in all of its forms. One does not have to just accept what they are told, and follow along with the rules. What one must do, is look at the rules, and realise that some rules are not always what they seem.

Im guessing Stellar wants you to take your whole fleet there. Personally, I would use the Gaurdian, Harbringer, and about a dozen or so Ravager class dtroyers to pound whetever happens to be in orbit.

Ioor will be launching an attack on Adumar man, not going with Thrawn. Have fun massacring the Vagaari.

Ilos ran along the halls of his flagship, looking like just about any other member of his crew at the moment. the whole ship seemed like an active hive, crew members were working hard to finish up the last of the repairs so that they could finally leave Dresnak. They had been here for far to long already. The UDA mechanics and engineers had left his ship hours ago, and he was happy to see them gone. His crew seemed to movce more smothly without them getting in the way all the time. Finally arriving at the bridge, he was immediatly bombarded with reports from all over the ship. Gun stations reporting in, fighters landing in the hanger bay, other vessels reporting their readiness. Ilos smiled, taking it all in. It was time for his forces to get back into action. And he knew that everyone in his fleet was itching for battle. And he was no better. Their enemies had much to answer for. Perhaps now, they could begin collecting the massive debt that the Repora were wracking up. "Give me a comm link to the fleet. I want everyone to here me." he ordered, and he waited for the nod from his comm officer. Once he got the nod, he waited for a moment, then spoke. "Attention everyone. We are about to do something that no one has yet to do in this war. We are going to be taking the war to the enemy. We will set up our forces on the outskirts on Vagaari space, and run a guerilla campaign against their forces. " he said, and he waited a few moments for everyone to digest the information. After a few moments, he spoke again. "The purpose of this mission, is to attempt to drive a wedge in between the Vagaari and their Reporan masters. We have had limited sucess in this already, and hope to capitalize on this, and in the process not only gain new allies for the war, but also take away the literal shield of vessels that the Repora have been using thus far in the war. Without that sheild, we will force the repora to fight us face to face." he said, and he looked around the bridge. He could tell by the looks on the faces of some of his crewers that they were torn on the plan. He knew some of them would agree with it, while others would think it a fools errand. But they knew to follow orders. "We will be on our own for a time out there, without hope of reinforcements or resupply. Because of this, we will have to be on constant alert. It will take all of us putting forth better than our full efforts. I am asking all of you to give your crewmates, your ships, this fleet, and myself, everything you have. I am asking you to be willing to saxrafice everything." he said, and he waited. He knew that his crew would not take that well. It was against their normal tactics. Normally they put survival ahead of victory. but this time, Ilos was asking for victory at all costs. "Grand Admiral Thrawn himself has full faith in this fleet, and its crews. It is on his orders that we are doing this. And if he has faith in us, then I see no reason that we can't do it." he said, and he saw that some of his crewers nodded at each other. He knew that they had faith in Thrawn. And if he had faith in them, they they were ready for anything. "All vessels, prepare to make the jump to lightspeed as soon as we clear the dockyards. Our first jump will take us o just outside Vagaari space. The second jump will take us into vagaari space itself. From there, we will go where we feel we can hurt them the most. Until we arrive though, relax when you can find the time. " he said, and he cut the comm. he looked around the bridge, and smiled. It was time to move out. "Order all ships to move forward at full flank speed. Pull in all fighters, ad prepare to make the jump. As soon as we are clear, send the signal. " he said, and he heard a series of quick confirmations. He watched out his viewport as the fleet began to move. After a few minutes, they were given clearence to make the jump to hyperspace. A few seconds later, the fleet jumped, on its way to what was looking to be a long, dangerous job. One that Ilos would relsih with every fiber in his body.

Sounds like a blast. Lets hope I can pull some Vagaari away to my side in a hurry. Ill need the ships.

Fett continued to watch the battle for a few more seconds, then realised that Alha group would have to be recalled. It was the only way his surviving troops were going to have a chance at survival. But he also knew that Alpha group didn'y have the armor or weapons to make much of a diference here. Unless they picked someup along the way, that is. "Alpha group, recall to main battle force. Pick up weapons on the way." he said, and he heard several clicks. He waited for a few monetas longer, then looked over to where his laison Jedi was standing. "Katarn, get out of here. Go make sure Solo evacuates." Fett said, and Kyle looked over at him, a confused look on his face. "What about you? how are you going to get your troops out of here?" he asked, and Fett laughed. "Trust me. We have our ways. And besides, I think that Solo will need your help more than I will." he said, and Kyle looked at him for a moment, and then nodded. Kyle ran to one of the few undamaged speeders, and rocketed off towards the main base. After he left, Fett sighed in relief. he hated being watched over. Fett turned back to the battlefield, and saw a group of warriors flying in from behind the battlefield. They dipped low towards the ground, and grabbed whatever weapons they could find off of dead bodies, before returing to flight. Then, they flew into the melee, and began the process of dealing death as only they knew how. *************************************** Seryk deflected teh blow from the reporan warriors blade, and snap kicked the creature in the jaw, hard enough that Seryk could hear bones break. Seryk lunged, and the bast fell, impaled by Seryks blade. Seryk turned to face yet another of the warriors, btu stopped when he saw the new arrivals. Clad in what looked like weaker versions of standard battle armor, all of them appeared to be weilding either reporan sidearms, or the reporan lightsabers. he wondered where thay had come from, but decided that now was not the time to ask. He ran to grup up with them in the fight, and as he arived, he saw that several other warriors had thought the same thing. When he arrived at tehir side, he joined them in fighting off the legionaires that they had targeted. As they fought, Seryk watched on in wonder as these new warriors fought, astounded by their speed and skill. But soon, even they began to fall to the experience and strength of the reporan troops. But they were taking a number of the repora with them as they died. And apparently, thats what Fett had wanted. "All troops, retreat. Fall back, I repeat, fall back. Prepare for evacuation." was all fett sid, and Seryk felt his heart sink. They had lost. Even the might of the mandalorians had failed to turn the tide of this battle. Almsot as one, the remaining mandalorain troops and comandoes took the the skies, where reporan warriors had a feild day shooting them back down. But as soon as they had all cleared the ground, the remaining heavy guns of the mandalorian lines opened fire, sowing chaos into the Reporan troops. Once the troops were clear from danger, the remianing guns were abandoned on the feild, their self destruct devices activated. As the mandalorains retreated, teh Repora followed them, and walked right into one last gift from Fett. The repora crossed over a small hill, and came face to face with dozens of small, automated blaster turrets. The turrets opened fire, dropping several repora with the opening salvo. The repora charged the turrets, and began deatroying them with their lightsabers. But as each one was cut into by a lightsaber or a plasma burst, it detonated, sending any nearbye repora flying. Then, the repora were past the turret line, intent on chasing the mandalorians all the way back t their evacuation point.

Polotics? On a gaming board? BLASPHEMY!!! But anyways.... The French were right to lower the flag to half mast. Whenver any countries leader died, they should be honered in that way at least, even if you dont like them. But since it was the pope, I think national mourning would have been appropriate also. The man did a lot of good for the world, and touched millions. he will probably be remembered as the most loved pope in history.

Ouch Trej, sorry to here about that. Hope she gets better man. Epilepsy is not fomething I would wish upon anyone. But yes, lets end this fight. I want to move on, and parts of the story have been neglected for far to long. Shren, Anakin, Athien and Ilos, all of them have been in limbo for a while now.

Tuvax is attaxking one fo the Jedi right now, Zekk I think. As for the imperials, I think the Sith forces are attacking them, so that isnt going to be a pretty picture at all, even with Kyp and the Darktroopers there.
