  1. Looking good man. As it turns out, my modeling skills quite frankly suck. I cant seem to get anything to work the way I want it to. Ah well.... *Throws the RP on life support*
  2. Overall, while I think those people are a little odd, I cant blame them. Star Wars is something that has gone far beyond what Lucas ever dared to dream. It literally has touched the lives of millions, and has a fan base that quite simply cannot be matched. The love that people have for Star Wars is astounding. The original trilogy is THE movie trilogy of the 20th century, and anyone who tries to argue that is blind. In my opinion, it will go down in history as being one of the best told stories of all time, if not the best.
  3. *hacks, coughs, sputters, and laughs again*
  4. Good luck with that. Thats all I have to say.
  5. *Floats by happily, Jolly Roger flapping in the wind, newly aquired movie download in tow* Yarr!!! Edit: i had a cool avatar, right until it decided to grow rather large on me...
  6. I would post, but My only options right now are either A) Hirotek, B) Karyn on the mandalorian Planet, or C) The smugglers. And I havent decided what to do with the smugglers or the Mandlorians as a whole quite yet, so Hirotek is my only option. And he wont advance anyone elses part of the story, just mine....
  7. Darktrooper, you just brought up a few very valid points....
  8. No way in hell im quoting all of that again, so Ill just make some footnotes... About the Eclipse: Ill give you that, it may not be able to blast an eclipse into scrap, but sometimes just criplling a ship is enough, as you yourself pointed out. About weapon and fleet placements: No ships to target/apponents not fighting fair? Type for a jump to hypserspace!! Worse case scenario, you have to send inthe support vessels to blast an interdictor out of existance, and assuming Thrawn is in command, even the minimum eight Star Destroyers would be a major threat. And onec again, range of weapons comes into affect, as they would have to get within range of the ship, placiong them withing range missles, which arent as limited in their targeting as standard emplacememnts are. About the superlaser itself: While it may not be able to adjust the vector of the laser, the usefullness of the weapon all depends on its range. At a fer enough distance, the amount the Imperius would have to move might not be that much. But that is just a hypothesis. [About the sensors: You cant see the sensor domes on a Carrack cruiser, but you know they still have sensor systems. And dont even try to tell me that the designers wouldn't have thought of this already, and set up more of them across the whole of the ship. About the bridge: Ill agree with you on functionality. But the scale of such a ship would have to be almost perfect for a true mental strike at your opponents. That, and perhaps the bridge section has more uses than we have thought of? About the weakpoints: Ok, the armor may not be any thicker, but the sheilds will be. But like I said, a devious designer would set up the weakpoints to appear to be defenceless, only to have them be the direct opposite. About the fleet needed to take the vessel out: The Endor fleet? With Thrawn in command, I wouldnt take that ship and its escorts on with anyting less than than few dozen heavy cruisers and destroyers, along with a horde of support vessels. Besides, the Endor fleet didnt have the fighter power that it would need to even come close to taking it out, that vessel could carry thousands of TIE fighters. The rebel starfighters would be overwhelmed before they could start their first run. On Thrawns tactics: At least we agreed on this part.... On Daala and her SSD: Ok, so Dark Empire I and II didnt make the greatest amount of sence. Ill agree with that. But they still made more sence than say, Dark Star or Children of the Jedi ever did.....
  9. It doesnt need to blow up planets, just other vessels. I'm willing to bet that even an Eclipse-class would be vaporized by the blast. Once again, this falls uder the "what we have and what we need" category. This vessel would have no need to bring all its wepons to bear on one target, just a fraction would be enough to lay waste to most vessels. And what a fraction cant accomplish, the support ships more than likely can. Im guessing the superlaser would be mofe for a kind of "Shock and Awe" kind of strike. Hyper in to the target, fire the laser at the biggest threat, and scare the rest of the enemies into either retreating or giving up. As for the firing arc, Im pretty sure that it has a large enough range that it wouldn't take much adjustment to hit a second target. One would think that they would have more than one set of sensor domes on a vessel of such size, More than likely several, perhaps with a entire sensor net system utilizing the sensor reading of the support vessels. Sometimes, fear is your more powerfull weapon. Would you want to take that thing on, not knowing what it was fully capable of? Every vessel has its weakpoints. The key is defending them properly. Hence, the support fleet. Add in the heavy armor and sheilding this ship is bound to have, and the weak spots are just as likely to be moot points as they are "Hit here to blow me up" spots. And devious designers would have put large amounts of weapons emplacements there, to lure vessels in for easy kills. A fleet, yes. But it would have to be a large one. Also, if they were to be in close enough to destroy it. If they did get in that close, the resulting explosionwould surely wipe out the attacking vessels, along with the remaining support ships. While the Vong may be overly suicidal, most people arent. True, Thrawn would not take thiis vessel as his flagship. But he would realise its potential for mind games, and use it towards that effect if need be. I could also see him using it as bait to lure his opponents in for a devestating trap. As for that SSD you mentioned, that would be the Night Hammer, and considering that the Ressurected emeror had several of those vessels, its likely that it was not around when Thrawn had control. He may not have taken it as his flagship, but I dont see him not using it to some extent.
  10. The grutching would have to ge close to the ship period. Imagine the number of turbolasers, heavy turbolasers, ion cannons, and cuncussion missles that thing would have on it. Not to mention the thousands of fighters it would be carrying, a fleet of star Destroyers flanking it, and probably a horde of Dark Jedi backing them all up. And Im willing to bet Thrawn himself would be at the helm. Good night Vong!
  11. Happy B-day mang. As for reloaded, while you wait for it, do what the rest of us do. Mod the living hell out of the game with RebEd.
  12. My freinds, it is time to raise the Jolly Roger in defence of what we believe in. To Mr. Bush and his new Anti-piracy law, I raise not only one middle finger, but two. ~Me, on another forum, talkign about the new Anti-piracy law that just went into affect in the US.
  13. Yes sir, your situation would be labeled as quite funny. You can laugh now.
  14. Imagine, if you will, this vessel being built. The Emperor, eager to begin conquering the universe, sends it outside the galaxy, clones of the best and brightest the empire has running the show. Several years into its journey, the vessel runs into the wondering Vong species. How would the Vong react to a 260 KM warship filled with an exceptionally Xenophobic crew? Would the Vong adapt quicky enough to counter the firepower of the Imperius? Or would the Imperius simply overwhelm the Vong with its sheer firepower? The mystery shall last forever...
  15. The vessel is only 260 kilometers long. It probably masses about as much as both deathstars put together. As for planetary population, sure, if you're talking about Tantooine.
  16. Cool design man. I like it. But personally, I am waiting for Stellar to reveal the Mandalorian/GFFA/UDA vessel he mentioned a while back. That thing will be interesting to see.
  17. If you look around on the internet, you can get any peice of equipment that Alienware can, and for cheaper sometimes. When you pay alienware for one of their comps, all you do is pay them top put it together, and put it in one of their cases, which I was never all that impressed with. Basically, its the Jaguar of computers. Looks nice, but you can get something better for cheaper. But I will say the design is pertty cool. I <3 the dark side.
  18. I wouldn't go that far. While it may actually have enough mass to have its own gravitational feild, I wouldnt say it could yank planets around. It could cause problems for Other warships though as they tried to leap into hyperspace. But you have to wonder what the crew requirments of that beast would be. Im guessing in the 1-2 million range.
  19. i dont care if we use them or not. im just bored, need something to do. Besides, while we have a lot of good guys, arent we still lacking on the bag guy side of the board? Also, considering how our last spinoff tanked, I think trying another would be pointless for now.
  20. A friend and I were discussing it, and we agreed that while it never actually did exist, neither of us would have put it past the Emeror to try and build one of those vessels, had he lived long enough.
  21. Ok, I am bored so I decided to write up some Sith chars for the RPG. Here is the first one. Yay, or nay? Darth Payne (Name isn't Permanent) In the Reporan Imperium, no one is feared more than the Timeless One. Neither his anger or power have limits. But sadly, his patience does. But if there were to be two people in the Reporan Imperium that you did not anger, Darth Payne would be the second. Overall leader of the Sith under the direction of the Timeless One, Payne has served the Imperium without question of fear for longer than most can remember. The reasons for this are known only to him, and the Timeless One. Although he may appear to be human, he is actually a member of a race that lives deep in the unknown territiories, the Uk'Lath. While the true length of their lifespans is unknown, Payne himself is nearing a hundred years of age, while still looking to have the youth of his twenties ahead of him. What most do remember, is his rise to power. Not long after the Vong were defeated, Payne challanged the former sith master in a fight to the death for control of the sith. Payne humiliated him in a stunning show of swordsmanship and control over the dark side. By the end of the fight, the former sith master was drained, while Payne himself was still eager for more. He beheaded the master, and then added one last bit of insult, by taking the masters name as his own. Payne now trains the sith in the ways of the dark side, answering only to the Timeless One. Darth Payne is known for his quick temper, and quicker executions. But he is also an intelligent teacher whose respect reaches far across the Imperium. While he has sworn loyalty to the Timeless One, there are whispers that Payne himself has considered one day challenging the Timeless One for control. If these rumors are true, the Timless One surely knows about them, and already has plans for him in case his lust for power gets out of hand. (Yah, not the best description Ive written thus far. But its a work in progress. Mostly I need Stellars input on where exactly Payne would fit in the command structure, and wether or not he would allow me to use him anyways.)
  22. I have the sudden urge to turn to the dark side....
  23. Interesting. I thought Terrik said the Republic would have to completely restore the Venture after they were done with it. Ah well, it will just have to go down as good writing/poor explenation. But the systems you mentioned were what Terrik got when he first aqquired the ship, not what he had at the beginning of the NJO. Edit: And another thing, that Lusankya pic is my newest backround. It fits perfectly!
  24. here is a nice set of size-comparison charts for a lot of Imperial vessels/Rebel starfighters http://www.wolfsshipyard.mystarship.com/Drawings/SW/
