  1. Ok, I think we are all away from Ord Mantell and can get the funeral going. Ive set up the mandalorains to join up with the GFFA soon to help them out. As for operation Chases' End, all in due time.
  2. OOC: Hey now, my warships never entered the fight!! That, and I think only Thrawn would know what a mandalorian warship m,ight look like. Oreton would have no idea that the mandalorians even have a warfleet.... IC: Captian Ivak watched in utter horror as the heart of the UDA fleet vanished in a flash. In a single moment, the battle had gone from horrible to a complete and total rout of all allied forces. he quickly checked his scanners, and wasappalled at how many UDA vessels were left. And the ones that were left were in a very bad situation. They were surrounded by enemy vessels, and were in danger of being massacred. It was than that Ivak heard the order over the command channels. "All vessels, hyper in system now!! We have to help get the UDA out of there!!" was all he needed to hear. Almost before he could bark the order, his warship had begun the leap in system. In only took a few moments to arrive. But to him, each moment seemed to last an eternity. Finally, after what seemed to be eons, they reverted into realspace, dangerously close to the Reporan fleet. Ivak smiled, however. It was right where he wanted to be. Along the rear flanks of the reporan lines, dozens of mandalorian warships appeared, and began the task of helping free the remaining UDA vessels from the trap they found themselves in. The warships dashed into the enemy lines, turbolaser banks firing at full speed, tearing through enemy sheilds and hulls. The larger reporan vessels had the sheilds and hulls to withstand the fire being poured into them, but not for very long. Smaller vessels, however, found themselves at the mercy of Mandalorian gunners. Reporan vessels, not to be outdone, returned fire, pouring plasma and turbolasers into the mandalorian warships. Vessels on both sides exloded violently, turning the space around them into quickly expanding clouds of gas and debris. "Captain, Imperial warships have entered the system. Its Oretons' fleet." the sensor officer announced, and Ivak grimaced. "Took them long enough. Contect them, and coordinate the final retreat with them. We wont be able to keep this up for very long." ivak said, and his communication officer nodded. Ivak tunre his attention back to the battle, just in time to see a barrage of plasma blasts rip into the hull of his vessel. Ivak fell to the deck of the bridge, and quickly got back up. he looked out the viewport, and saw that his vessel was starting a slow spin in space. "Sithspit! Helm, get us out of here! Gunners, keep up the pressure on everything you see!" he barked, and he looked back out the viewport. As his mighty vessel began to turn, he spotted a massive reporan vessel baring down on them, intent on taking advanatge of his nearly crippled vessel. Ivak watched carefully as the vessel got closer, and opened fire. In his final moments, all Ivak saw was a bright flash as plama bursts crashed into the bridge. ********************************************************** Fett sat in the passenger seat of the evacuation transport, and watched as the reaming vessels from all the fleets in orbit made their final jumps to hyperspace. He sat back in the chair, astounded at the turn of event that was now on everyones mind. By all reports, Thrawn was dead. The UDA fleet was in shambles. And almost half the Mandalorian warhips that had arrived to assist in the orbital battle had been lost. It had turnd into a very grim day, one that would not be soon forgotten. "Pilot, jump us to the Imperial fleet. Admiral Oreton will be in charge for now, I would think." Fett said, but the Pilot shook his head. "Sorry sir, Im supposed to take you to Denon for a very important meeting. By order of the Supreme Coucil." the pilot said, and Fett nodded. He assumed that it would be about all the failures at Ord Mantell, but he had a feeling it would be for something for more important. he watched as the shuttle flew away from teh battle, and then shot on its way to Denon. ************************************************************ Deep in space, far from any inhabited system, an ancient cargo vessel dropped from hyperspace. In front of the vessel, sat a massive world encased in ice. In the small bridge of the ship, the captain sighed, and looked to one of his passangers. "Well, here we are. I dont know how you got clearence to enter this system, but I dont think I want to know. Your credits are just as good either way." he sai,d and the man nodded. "Just land us at the appropriate coordinates captain. We need to hurry." the man said, and then he left the cockpit and walked back ot the cargo hold where the rest of his crew awaited him. he entered the hold, and smiled, seeing his crew playing a quick game of Sabaac before they landed. "Alright guys, we're here. It looks cold down there, so I hope you packed your cold weather gear." he said, and the crewers all nodded. None of them really knew what they were expected to find here. Only their leader knew that, and he had kept absolutely quiet about everything. All they knew was that they were on a tight time schedule, with a lot of equipment and an unlimited budget, all gifts from the GFFA. The one thing their leader had been willing to share was the name for their apparently top-secret mission to a forbidden system. Soon, the ship had landed, and the workers had set up their new homes on the fozen world. Not long afterwords, excavation machines had begun the task if digging down to what appeared to be a massive buried structure. Across the galaxy, dozens of other freightors in dozens of other starsystems started the exact same task, all under a veil of extreme secrecy. Operation Chases' End had begun.
  3. *Whistles innocently while preparing the battlefleet*
  4. Wait, that was the whole UDA fleet? Please tell me im mistaken....
  5. I think that both Darth Maul and Count Duukus' deaths were pre-mature, and poorly done. Both chars had great potential, and were wasted by Lucas. Maul would have been better if he had injured Obi-wan, and left him for dead, just to get into it with Duuku in the second film. That would have been cool. As for Duuku, Anakin killed him way to fast. I think Lucas should have kept him alive until the end, and made the final lighsaber battle start out as a three way dance between two sith apprentices and Obi-wan.
  6. Edit: I really need to learn to read the RP threads before I post. Kyps death was excellent. I was happy to see him be th hardass we all know he could be. As for Thrawns death, it was far to fast. I was hoping for a more pro-longed battle. Which brings out the question: Is the Timeless one on that replicator? Because if not......
  7. Hirotek sighed as he looked over all the information in front of him. The runin with the Reporan super-cruiser had brought him to the stunning realization that it was going to take more than simple fleet battles to break the vagaari away from the Repora. He simply didnt have the ships to risk running into Reporan forces to often. In his spare time during this hyperjump, he decided that more subtle measures would be needed. It would be a lot different than what he was used to in a campaign, but he knew he could do it. He certainly had the resources for a capaign like that. He had a number of infiltration groups to run covert operations with, and he could back them up by distracting the enemy fleets by running hit-and-run tactics with his fleet. As he sat there trying to find a suitable target, the command line chirped, and Hirotek looked up. He sighed, and stepped over to his comunications console. He tapped a few buttons on the console, and the voice of the captain cam across the line. "Admiral, we have entered the Epsilon base system. Commander Alexi wishes to speak to you." the captain said, and Hirotek nodded. "Ill take it in my office captain. Thank you." he said, and Hirotek walked over to the holoprojector. he stood on the platform, and sighed when the hologram of Alexi appeared. Alexi did not look displeased, but at the same time, he certainly did not look happy. "Admiral Hirotek. I am glad to see your force returned without any losses that I can see. I take it your mission was successfull? he asked, and Hirotek smiled. "Well, not really. The vagaari force we found decided that they would have rather fought than talk, but they weren't much of a force to threaten my fleet. Unfortunetly, the reporan task force that jumped us was more than enough to pound my fleet into oblivion. So I decided running was a good idea." he said, and Alexi nodded his head. "I could have told you that taking your fleet out was a dangerous idea. The Reporan fleet runs thick here. We need to be carefull when using the fleet. We dont have the resources to risk losing any vessels right now." he sai,d and Hirotek nodded. "I am now well aware of that fact. it is because of that the I need all infiltraion unit commanders and squadron commanders to prepare for a meeting. Ive picked out a few targets for all of them to hit. Ive decided to switch up my tactics abit." Hirotek sai, and Alexi smiled. "I was hoping you would say that. We have all been getting a little restless here. I'll have them all ready for you." Alexi said, and the hologram cut out. Hirotek sighed, and lowered his head a bit. He was going to have to rely on the people here at Epsilon base for a lot o the upcoming battles. He didn't like relying on others for such matters, but he knew that he would adjust. he just hoped that he could gain the confidence of these people like he had gained the trust of those already under his command. Ilos stepped away from the holoprojector, and walked out of his office. He hadn't been able to find a suitable target thuis far, but he knew that the base commanders would be able to help him in that regard. He just hoped that they could get their new operations moving. They had little time to get moving, and what little time thay had was quickly fading away.
  8. Well, now that my basement is done being redone, I have full acess to my comp again. So Im back. And I was thinking of where all my chars are going to be once all the side-plots appear. And this is what I have figured out. Hirotek - Breaking of the Vagaari (Im assuming Athien will be joining him?) Seryk - Cycle of the Force (Right up to when he turns to the dark side, and comes back) Fett and the Madnalorians - Stand Firm (Unless you can figure out a better place to put the mandalorian battlefleet) And of course, I also control the President of the Vathkree, and Iam already incorperated into that side-story. Also, i was thinking that Karyn and some Mandalorian commandos could join up with the jedi and help out with covert operations eventually.
  9. Breaking the main campeign into so many peices might actually be the best idea thus far. It will make things easier to keep track of, not to mention keep people interested. Also, it will giv the RPers here who dont post very often a chance to join in, since we cant have all of them running at full speed at all times. Or can we?? As for me, I will have my hands full in three of the capaigns, which is more than enough for me.
  10. She is showing life doctor!! Its a miracle!!! But anyways.... So we have three stories now? ne about the Vathkree, one involving the Vagaari, and the main story? This is getting big. We better watch ou step, lest we cause the whole thing to implode in on us...
  11. I thnk it may be far to late to enter this one. Its basically on life support, and fading fast.
  12. Its LucasArts. They are nazis when it comes to source codes. We wont gt it released.
  13. Yes, the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games are an excellent place to start. They had realistic combat, (i.e. Enemy fighters actually got behind you, and tried to stay there instead of flying in circles), and the controls were simple, yet challenging to master. Also, the dogfight simulation was exceptionally difficult, something I always loved.
  14. Ok, I posted. Stellar, you gonna ignoe Hirotek again? His last pst was several days ago, but he was about to engage Vagaari forces in his attempts to turn them against the Repora.
  15. Seryk cursed as a reporan plasma blast came dangerously close to him. The reporan legions that were still charging the mandalorains has finally slowed their assault, bu only because the bases auto-cannons had began cutting them down when they had come into range. "All forces, prepare for evacuation. i repeat, prepare for evacuation!" Fetts voice rang through the comm, and Seryk looked around. he couldn't figure out where their transports were, but he frankly didn't care. he just wanted out. But then, a torrent of fire fell from the skies. Seryk looked up, and saw a pair of what looked like heavy assault transports flying quickly towards the base. Their fire fell into the Reporan forces surrounding the mandalorians, clearign the way for a slightly safer evacuation. "Commander Seryk, your group is out first! Get up there!!" Someone yelled from behind him, and Seryk then realised that the transports werent going to land, but he was going to have to go up first. Not questioning his orders, Seryk ignited his jetpacks, and blaste towards the transporst. Around him nearly a hundred other warriors did the same. As they launched, a squad of mandalorain starfighters flashed by, intent on preventing the Reporan from concentrating on the retreating mandalorians. Seryk watched as the starfighters strafed the enemy forces, one of them taking several hits, and crashing into a reporan walker, both vehicles exploding violently. As Seryk got closer to the transports, he looked around, and saw the the Reporan forces has broken through into the base at several spots, and soon the base would be overrun he silently hoped to himself that Solo was already gone. seryk landed in the transport, and saw several other transports launch from hidden hanger bays. He also saw several more Mandalorian assault transports appear, and fly downwards to the embattled mandalorains. Squadrons of starfighters escorted them, to prevent the Reporan starfighters that remained from blasting them out of the sky with ease. On the ground, Fett looked about, and sighed. Many Mandalorians ha ddied, far to many for his liking. But they had learned several valuable lessons about their enemies. And he supposed that their enemies had learned several valuable lessons about them as well. But only time would tell who had learned the most.
  16. If there is grass on the feild, play ball!! If not, play in the mud. Just avoid the crab trees. (Sorry, I couldnt resist.)
  17. Welcome back man. And yes, do read the Repora Rp, it is actually quite good. Just do it when you have a lot of reading time, as you have to read both the IC and the OOC threads for everythign to make sence. That, and does your being back mean we can finally polish off the old RP thread? I think we are short one memorial session for the dead, or some such.
  18. Yah, the Empire would have done much better than the NR/GFFA did in that war. They wouldnt have argued about wether or not they were a threat, they would have attacked immediatly, and gone straight for the throat with no remorse about it. Forget talk about peace or surrender, the Emperor would have sooner married a jedi than let that talk make it anywhere. And hostages? What about them? Kill them all, let their gods sort them all out. And yes, the Imperial warfleet was insanely larger than anything the NR ever even dreamed of feilding in that war, which would have helped a lot. (The most common number put out is 25 thousand Star Destroyers, plus hundreds of thousands of support ships, and trillions of ground troops at the empires peak.)
  19. I always thought that the whole "Good guys must win" stream of thought waswhat made Daala lose all the time. In Darksaber, there was no way that one powerless jedi could have taken out a SSD, especially since there are no hanger bays near the engines to land a TIE bomber in. In all reality, an armada of Vic Stars would have been able to wipe out whatever the NR had at Yavin (Remember, they only brought enough vessels to take on the Knight Hammer), and the acedemy should have been blasted out of existance. And besides. she re-united the empire. That ffeat alone makes her an better-than average Admiral. As for Zsinj, yah, they should have written more about him. His death at Dothamir was retarded. No one who can take a third of the galaxy from the NR and the Empire (Something Thrawn himself never managed) should ever die is such a pitiful way.
  20. I almost included the Jedi Acedemy Trilogy, but I just couldnt do it. It was a major turning point in the EU, and I just cant bring myself to hate the second coolest Imperial Admiral ever written about.
  21. Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the first, and hopefully only, Worst Star Wars Novel Awards!! Tonight, we will discover which Star Wars novels not only are horrible reads, but possibly should never have been written in the first place! First and foremost, let me tell you that making this list was far from easy! With so many books out there to read, there were many contenders. But We have whittled them down to the six worst books and/or trilogies. And here they are!! CHILDREN OF THE JEDI by Barbara Hambly - Some consider this to be a very good book at first, but in the end, it turns into just another "Imperial superweapon threatens the galaxy" book. Thats all this book even needed to make the list. THE CRYSTAL STAR by Vonda N. McIntyre - Talk about confusing. We have creatures from alternate universes, former Emperors hands' on mobile planets, and old lovers from Hans past. between all of these, this book blazed its way onto the contentin list. THE NEW REBELLION by Kristine Kathryn Rusch - Fallen jedi apprentice? Check. Luke Skywalker in trouble? Check. Warfleet preparing to cause problems? Check. Making the worst SW Novel ever list? Check check check!!! DARKSABER by Kevin J. Anderson - Look folks, more superweapons!! This time under the command of Dorja the Hutt!! The only thing that comes close to trying to save this book is Admiral Daala re-uniting the Empire. And even that gets a little out of hand. To the list with you!! 18) PLANET OF TWILIGHT by Barbara Hambly - Planet that enhances force users abilities? ok, I can belive that, kinda. Little critters that cause an uncureable plague if they make it off said planet? Ummmm...... Imperial warlord has plans to use sencient rocks to retake the galaxy? What the hell? Ok, thats to much. Welcome to the contention list! The Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy by Michael P. Kube-McDowell - Two factors led to this trilogy making the list. One, Luke searching for his mother. The whole "White current" thing was to much. Way to much. Add in Lando and the Teljkon Vegabond, and you have the ruination of what could have been an excellent trilogy. Ok folks, theres the list!! Now get to voting!! Lets see who the biggest loser really is!!
  22. Wow, lots of good arguements all around. Im impressed. But now for me to add my two cents. When it comes to clones, I seem to fall with the whole "cost effective vs. overall effectiveness" arguement. Raising an army of clones would be horribly expensive. But there would be enough patriotic people throughout the galaxy that would be dying to join the mighty empires military forces. And the empire wouldnt have to pay a single decicred to raise them to the proper age. So it would just plain be cheaper to use regular people rather than clones. Sadly, the same could be said of TIE/In vs. X-wing debate. While both sides had very different tactics for their fighters, The empire had to rule over the galaxy with an iron fist, while the rebels simply had to free worlds. To hold on the the galaxy, the empire would have to produce an enourmous amount of starfighters. Now, would you rather spend the money on high quality equipment, and not have the numbers to hold everyone in line, or do everything on the cheap and use fear along with numbers to force the peace? But I saw so,eone mention the Empire at its peak vs. the Vong. I would have to say the Empire would win, but the cost would be horribly high. But I think Grand Admiral Thrawn would have taken the Vong and made them dance to his tune over and over again at his leisure. Add in a Death Star or two and the Vong would never have had a chance.
  23. My 331,000 results make me sad. Edit: Especially since I beat out GAT. Wow.
  24. http://media2.big-boys.com/bbfiles/images/bbpics/pic1084.jpg
  25. Hmmmm.... I think you would be walking a fine line Kaja, but you should be fine. While you would be sending him files ripped from your disc, you would not be sending him the whole game, just the files he needs to play the game with a damaged disc. You should be fine there.
