    Alliance green lasers are probably a bug, originally they should have been red if you are playing with oldships.big some of the older ships have completely screwed up ion cannon armament and disable stuff in seconds, it should be okay for the normal mod (though SSDs purposely have devastating ion salvos) New republic caputured some shipyards in the years between ROTJ and dark empire, they built some defender star destroyers and finished/repurposed ISDs hmm computer should never be able to build a bouy in facilities... defenders and avengers came out around ESB, though widespread use for defenders was not until njo
  2. the gui support is not relevant to XP and the user mode driver support is available for XP as a hotfix, it is simply a matter of the graphics pipeline (instead of GDI+ etc) afaik being backported
  3. Sins has 3d movment, it isn't as obivous how to do it and its not required. unless DX10 comes to XP don't count on it for a couple years, I have no intention of moving to vista any time soon.
  4. turn off dynamic lod in the options, it should keep ships at full detail (though I might be mistaken you may have to edit the ship files)

  8. If you note the basilisk and leviathan are being worked on, as are a couple of other mandalorian ships.
  9. If I remember right securerom will consider it a unauthorized copy if the disk throws too many read errors (thinking it is a bad rip) but in fact good CD/DVD RW drives report these errors better than normal readers so it triggers the securerom BS quicker.

    I think shadow got it right, the AI needs lots of money to function properly (or have the ship class set much lower) the general AI build order is as follows build a fighter factory and destroyer yard, then at least 5 fighters from the fighter yards, and then the largest ship it can afford from the destroyer yard, if it can't build anything it will try to pump out miners to go get resources and strip the map, in reinforcements it simply builds five fighters, then builds the biggest ship it can until it can't pay for any more or hits the unit cap and then goes the next size class down.

  13. you can download the model packs from the files section of the website, other than that you're on your own for figuring it out, though I think you'll find that the textures aren't very good for much, most of them are tiling and the detail is in the geometry.

  15. hmm I'll take a look to make sure the build scripts are right, the viscount I made was made before the minature was released by almost 2 years, so it is wrong

  17. Since the remnant was the ones doing the substantial upgrades of the vessel from an ISD II to an 'ISD III' there is no official pic, my best guess is that it is simply a ISD II with a darker shade of paint on it.
  18. what do you plan on doing with the textures? if you are making high poly models off them that's great, I'd love to see them. I'm fine with conversions or updates, but if you do update the model please send me a copy (the contact complexity is on purpose )

  20. I know my copy of the CD is so beat up that it gives me that error sometimes, it's a pretty widely experienced issue.

    I'd strongly recommend against having any previous versions in the folder even if they are big files, odd things happen
  22. shields were actually removed in the 0.5 releases, so the hod files aren't avaialble in the lastest version I believe

    did you change the settings for what was buildable? it is possible the AI was restricted and all it could do was build miners. did it build destroyer yards?
  24. make sure you have the 1.1 patch, also try the mod without the oldships.big to see if that is a problem (especially with imperials)
  25. the trade off was to remove shields (because they were buggy AND slow, it was a nightmare, they are not coming back) the shield regen goes to the hull, the turrets were removed as subsystems sho the ship could still shoot, but the other subs were added, any of the non-converted 0.45 ship in oldship.big still have the subsystem turrets, those are the ones that have the problem.
