  1. The Lambda-Class shuttle came to rest on the glossy deck aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Judicator. Looking out the transperesteel viewport the pilot could see two double rows of Stormtroopers falling into colomns. From the far end of the docking bay two officers were walking stifly towards the shuttle. "Lower the ramp lieutenant." came a voice from the hold. "Sir, Commander Gherant and Major Tambris haven't reached the shuttle yet." "I'm well aware of that. Lower the ramp" 'Aye, sir." The his of hydrolics could be heard across the bay, and the Gherant and Tambris broke into a sprint. Their efforts were too late as Thrawn had descened the ramp and stood waiting for the two officers to arrive. Both officers saluted stiffly, waiting for Thrawn to return the gesture. Instead he walked aroudn the two men, who scrambled to catch up. "Sir, it's good to have you aboard. I must admit that your transfer was somewhat of a surprise. To be quite honest, we were expecting a more... seasoned commander." "What you were or were not expecting commander if of little consequence. What matters is what is." "Yes, sir. What shal be our first course of action. The Emperor has given you full command of the ship, as well as the power to choose what missions we under take. For the time being, that is." I'll not throw this crew into a frey without first testing them. There are two combat engagements in progres at the moment that I am keeping a close eye on. Once I have more data, we will depart for one of those. Until then, I suggest you have the crew prepare for battle, commander." "Sir, our previouse captain would never ha-" Thrawn stopped and spun to face the commander, his eyes fixing on him in a glacial stare. The man seemed to shrink back. "I am the captain of this vessel, commander. What course of action my predecessor would have taken is also inconsequential." "Aye, sir." "Good. Prepare for combat commander. Major, equip your troops for combat in vacuum. We may be boarding enemy ships."
  2. No, he doen't come back. Actually, up unti Anakin dies too, there is a whole sub-plot about the guilt both Anakin and Han feel over his death. Eventually that guilt gets put to rest.
  3. The new Everquest will blow Lineage II out of the water, but there are indeed addicts. Since the Koreans won't let Chinese players use thier servers, the Chinese have resorted to selling items on e-bay, which in turn angerd NCsoft, which lead to a law suit and a bunch of angry players... why couldn't Galaxies be a better game so I wouldn't have to deal with this?
  4. Lol. I don't use ICQ, but I do use MSN. My e-mail is highmage_13@hotmail.com, at least until I get my invite for g-mail.
  5. They had to keep some form of rearguard, so why not an SSD and the Mon Mothma?
  6. Replace? I should certainly hope not!
  7. Yeah, I wasn't too big on the CG Yoda. I guess they had to use CG though, because it would be hard to havea muppet do all of those fancy moves. I wasn't big on the muppet they used in Ep I though.
  8. Aye, I noticed that. If there was more variety it would have been better. I'm playing it to hold me over until World of Warcraft or Everquest II.
  9. I've been sucked into the MMORPGs as of late, and the one I'm playing (until something better come out) is Lineage II. I'm just wondering if there is anyone else that plays as well?
  10. It's not that it's choppy while it plays, it's that the music will play through a "song", the start to play it again but cut off and play the next one. I find that the CDs provide a better experience.
  11. The only problem that we've had the last.... two times this has come up, is that every one has RL stuff to work around. If you look at all of the mod teams that work on games like UT 2004 or C&C Generals is taht they are working feverishly on thier mods. TO create a game would require even more time and more dedication. I've no dobt that there is the interest, but the dedication I think would waver.
  12. It may also have to do with the fact that when the movies were shot, there wasn't a practical way to create a room full o faliens short of alot of makeup time, and tons of muppets (ie Jabba's Palace).
  13. But were Jango and Boba actually Mandelorian? And even if they were, I'm sure that GL would change what was said in KotR. He did it with the books... Edit: Apparently even my MSN group is having trouble with my avatat. Anyone else having the same problem?
  14. While the music does add to the game experience, I found that it was too choppy. I just use the CDs for my music.
  15. They may even have looked for a way to transfer the duryam to another planet, or even to Sekot. They may have killed it too...
  16. Usually, when you find something you're good at and can fit it into a career, you tend to enjoy it. What would he have done after he made his money, started up a corperation, settled down, get married, have a few little Fetts, maybe buy the speeder equivilent of an SUV and spend his time watching his son's hover-ball games Probably wouldn't work out oo well. Though I'm sure a sweater-vest would go nicely with the armor. He did sort of change his occupation once the war started. in TUF he was on that space station fighting the Vong with some other commando type guys in Mandolorian Armor.
  17. I think that most of the Vong willingly left the planet when they were defeated. the Shamed Ones may have been permitted to stay, but I think even they would rather be on Sekot.
  18. OOC: @Trej: Tanks. I know it was weak, but I didn't want to create some convolouted story to work things out.
  19. I think that maneuverability affects the chance of a rebel fighter or cap-ship hitting the fighters. As for the uefullnes of TIEs, the bombers are great for swarming cap-ships, as are the fighters. WHile they're buisy shooting your TIEs they'll ignore your Star Destroyers
  20. Fett wasn't greedy. He did his job to make a living, but he wouldn't take credits he hadn't earned.
  21. The encyclopedia is good, but it is a little dated now.
  22. I try to avoid the Technical Commentary. It may provide some interesting things, but all-in-all, it's just one person's view. A lot of the stuff on there is either off, or downright fictional (that is, not even close to the mark). I think that you may be right about the decorative part, at least for the first movie. There was no rhyme or reason to each rank insignia. The last two movies made sense though, at least for the Empire. You just gained more blue squares as you got promoted. Eventually you had to re-arrange them, but it makes sense. I still can't figure out the Rebel's rank system. What about the white uniform though? We've been lead to think the that uniform is restricted to the Grand Admirals. Perhaps it was more common than first believed?
  23. They may have some remains from those massive biolding droids that were used to tear down old parts of the city. Even the Vong didn't get rid of everything there. Thye were building on one of the mid-level layers, not the ground of the planet.
  24. The only flaw is, why didn't the Mon Calamari, Bothans, Sullustans, Gotal, Byss, Hutts, Rodians, Weequay, Ithorians, Quarrens, Gran, Aqualish, Abyssin, Noghri, Clawdite, Duros, Faleen, Neimoidians, Wookies, or Selonians do the same?
  25. I didn't get to read the book where they were destroyed. I hate the online novel idea, but I started to wish I had read it when referrences to it kept poping up in the later books.
