  1. That's the cover for Timothy Zahn's Survivor's Quest.
  2. If anyone is going to make a card (does any one still do that?) based on an EU character, I suggest you do a search for the Japanese translations of the EU books. Their covers are much better than ours! TheForce.net has these scans of the NJO series. You can actually see what every one looks like, not just go by what is described (which is very vague, really). If it weren't for the bloody Stormtroopers this would make a good image for a Mara Jade card.
  3. The torpedo sphere can be found under the platform tab of your construction menu. I'm not certain what structure builds them, most likely the cruiser shipyard, but you must also ensure you have your era settings right to allow you to build them. As for the K-Wing, if the website says so, it is most likely true.
  4. Yes, this more precisley (sp?). I think it works well to keep continuity with the look of the ranks. That site seems to think that the rank insignia Tarkin used, as well as the most common Grand Admiral insignia are of the same type as those used in ANH. While I dissagree with this, it at least provides us with an alternative set of rank insignia.
  5. I don't know, I think I like the "real" Grand Admiral insignia. The other just looks too much like all the other Imperial ranks. What makes Grand Moff and Grand Admiral so cool looking (insignia wise) is that they use the yellow squares, whereas that alternate Grand Admiral insignia uses only the standard red and blue. Maybe the alternate insignia should be used for the regular forum rank (thus keeping all of the ranks with the blue and red) and keep the "Thrawn version" (with the yellow) for those who choose to take that rank at 2000?
  6. The nice thing about Thrawn was that he really wasn't "evil" per-se, he was just very strait forward when it came to getting what he wanted. His goal was to preserve the Empire (though I guess the Empire was evil). I really think of him as the Rommel of the Empire.
  7. Hmm, maybe . I'm a little torn, however. I like the whole Sith Lord bit, but I also like "being" a Grand Admiral. I might have to go with Grand Admiral for the rank and devise some sort of avatar that connects Grand Admiral with Sith Lord.
  8. Well, since Warlord is really more of a title than a rank... Anyhow, I'm a Grand Admiral by name, so by rank only makes sense . I really can't think of any other title/position I'd rather have.
  9. Also remember that TIE Defenders rae essentially only effective at defending Death Stars. So, if you want to keep your DS alive load it (not the rest of the fleet) with TIE Defenders while the rest of your fleet is filled with TIE/Is.
  10. Yeah, I've been a Warlord for a while now. I'd rather be a Grand Admiral, though. Oh well, 2000's not too far off.
  11. I allow the droids to handle my resources, but I wouldn't place my garrisons in their hands. They tend not to produce units that are effective at defending a planet, but rather whatever costs me the most. I simply can't be bothered with mines and refineries...
  12. Your best option is to use sabotage missions to take out any defense shields. Or, you could try and sabotage the LNRs and then bombard the planet again, without fear of loosing a ship. Just be sure that there aren't too many troops/a general on the planet if you're going to use your characters to do the missions. If there is, I suggest you use your special forces to deal with anything.
  13. Wow Mad, that looks great! Maybe you should start re-doing some of the older models, especially the Star Destroyers . Now, another question: what are the limitations when it comes to texturing. I know there is the color limits, but is there a ceratin resolution you are limited to (DPI I suppose?)?
  14. Well, except I haven't really spammed since I reached Grand Admiral... but I do see what you meant.
  15. It's strange, alot of people have only read the books the movies were based on, and maybe The Hobbit, yet even with so little experience in his work it is still evident how rich and colourful the history of Middle Earth is. If you really want to experience it, however, there are somewhere near 20 other books, composed of work that was either written by Tolkein himself, or by his son based on stories his father told him as a child. Then you have the Un Finished Tails and The Silmarillion (sp on both?). the latter of which is a very tough read, but shows how every detail, from the formation of the land itself to the lineage of its people, were thought out. It is truly story telling on the grandest scale.
  16. Well, they really have little choice now. With no new movies comming out they won't have new resources to simply cookie-cut a game from. I think we may actually see a change in LucasArts now. If thye make EaW a crappy game (well, if thye force Petroglyph to make it a crappy game) they'll be stuck. None of their non-Star Wars titles have done very well, and Galaxies Online is fading in popularity due to the arriaval of WoW and Guild Wars. If you think about it, LucasArts future rests on EaW.
  17. Lol, read back and see how many pages SOCL and I debated Imperial ranks for, that will tell you how much help we need.
  18. Rogue Leader would be cool, but since you're an admiral you might try and figure out what a New Republic admiral's insignia would look like? That's the problem with you rebels, your ranks are too bloody difficult!
  19. Well, I guess I should have checked here before, but I'll say it again none-the-less: I give you joy of your return AA. It's good to have someone sane to balance the rest of us out .
  20. Hmm, when I reach 2000 I'll have to develope some Uber-Supreme Grand Admiral rank... or maybe I'll just stick with Grand Admiral.
  21. Well, first off, welcome to our two new members, DarthTex and plokoon9619! May your stay be enjoyable! Good heavens, is it really you Admiral_Antilles? Glad to see your... erm, text around again! I give you joy of your return!
  22. Had the Emperor still been in power when the Vong attacked, I am confident that they would have been stopped at their point of entry into the galaxy. While there were many advances made during the rule of the New Republic, they didn't place as strong a focus on the military. The Empire would have had more ships of greater power, in addition to whatever super-weapons they would have created (they would already have the second Death Star). Add to that the ability to use offensive powers from the Force, I think the Vong would have found themselves with quite the can of mynocks.
  23. Great work Mad, it will look even better once you get some sort of texture onto it. My question is, is there a poly limit in Rebellion that might prebent it from being used? And yes, there are quite a few Trade Federation Battleships in the card database.
  24. No, I'm still playing, I just had my reenactment this weekend and didn't want to come back to find what littel I have decimated... I wonder if my switching races might have removed me as your commander. Either way, I'm still here if you still want me
  25. Hmm, that site also states than an SSD is about 17.6 km in lenght, whereas all official sources peg it at about 12.8 km. I'm sorry, but I just can't trust a site that makes claims like that, based only on visual comparisons.
