  1. Make screenshots, archive that savegame if you can. I'd like to have it as well
  2. Yep, that works best. In my current game I have them in one of my main assault fleets, with Luke and the other Jedi masters, but every once in a while they escape. That's usually a good way to increase the stats for knights and below.
  3. And my tutorial ? Read it you must, know then you will
  4. I mostly put fighters on important planets and on those that get attacked regularly by the AI, also on planets with 11+ shipyards, once discovered the AI always tries to take them from me.
  5. If you have every planet under your control, then you can take all your troops from a rim planet away and start bombarding it. That should lead to that planet joining the other side, resulting in a haven for Luke. Now come in with your nearby fleet and maybe with Vader and enough Noghris. Happy hunting
  6. Greetings, enjoy your stay

    GUI?

Ah, there are a few different pics over the dlls for 3PO and IMP22, that's why your 3PO and R2 sometimes change, when they play the different animations. For the human officer ? Why not use the Guy Siner (or Sienar, does anyone really know the name of that guy in Tie/F) ? I've not read anything implying his later carreer, although the Protector seems to have been captured. That silver Deathstar droid is the silver 3PO droid I meant. It has the same head and can also be seen with the Jawas in EPIV, shortly after 3PO wakes up there.

    Shiplist

deXtoRious: it was a plugin wizard already shiped with the 3D model program I used. But if you try google, you'll surely find one for the program you're using. Jahled: The order (with advancing numbers) is big -> small. You can take any Deathstar pic you like. The one with the bigger resolution looks better, but the point where the laser emitter is will be above the DS.
  9. The Home one has even 55,000 polys. I found a replacement, but the final touches might be delayed because of my oncoming exams But as far as I've experimented with larger groups: if you stay below 10,000 polys then it should work fine with most pcs. Depending on what machine you have 20,000 might work as well. Although I'd start deleting little extras from a model with that many polys before trying it in the game. With the textures we can make up for many little details now
  10. There should be AT-ATs and AT-STs for the Imps in my opinion. Even if they just appear in some pictures.
  11. The biggest thing will be the tactical.dll, no doubt. Mine is over 45 megs right now The encyclopedia entries shouldn't be too big, cause they are only ascii text. The bmps for card images and events are, well bmps that should compress nicely. Whatever distribution method we'll take, the files are usually compressed and therefore at least a bit smaller than the original
  12. Ok, Amazon found it as well (ISBN: 0345402278), but this one costs 50€ ! Too much for this poor student
  13. Hey, I just ordered the new 'Essential guide to characters' for 25€, so what new book is this ? Are there also good pictures in it ?
  14. Nah, I meant E-Wing regular and those who didn't like it could replace it with the K-Wing.
  15. Errm, Kueller that was 17years after Endor, also I like the look of those little astromechs behind the cockpit
  16. Abe Simpson was right: 'The metric system is the tool of the devil' Btw Tsunami, that was a deadlink. But looking at the way it is written I'd say it's from the 'Complete guide to Stardestroyers', right ? The original site is down, but there's a mirror (http://www.darklordsofsith.com/stardestroyers/std.htm), although they omit the complete guide to MonCal ships, which I only have partially I draw most of my info from there, although the SSD-length conflict has entered there, too. Like I already said back then, when I released SSD, ESSD and Sovereign: the length is a compromise between playability and the 'actual' size. The Eclipse is one hell of a behemoth and if you look here (http://home.graffiti.net/d_kelley/scalesd.jpg) you can see, that a MonCal cruiser looks like a fighter in comparison. Elvis: I didn't use any length tools in the 3d modelling programs, merely good eyesight, the reference size of the original models and a feeling of how big it should be. Perfectly scientific
  17. You could also change the sublight value to, say 1. Exit RebEd and look for the files that just got changed in the GData folder. The make a copy of this file and load RebEd again, this time change the value to 2. Exit again and compare the two files for differences, there you have the bit that gets changes I usually use Windows Commander for the comparison, helped me a lot of times and the demo has just a nag-box, if you wanna give it a try.
  18. Meanwhile on the bridge of the Independence: -'Wait, wait, I've got another one : ISD Booyaka' -'and get a load of this one : ISD II Respect' -'oh and here comes a big one : SSD Fat Respect'
  19. Well it surely is something the Emperor would do to prevent the Rebels to have his planet. He might also have some anti-grav pads under the Imperial Palace to evacuate it. Capitols can be set up everywhere and it's a big galaxy
  20. You can also press the taunt key, to distract the returning saber Anyways I finally found time to make an animated gif of that, so this is what it should look like (although the saber can spin on a wider arc). http://home.graffiti.net/d_kelley/bye_gon.gif
  21. you got it
  22. Sleep giving cancer ? Damn, one of my two favourite hobbies. If the other one would be as dangerous then I'd be doomed, as would be the human race
  23. Yup, you got your "turn-based" (Dr.Evil again ) gamplay during most of the game and "real-time" when the action starts Let's keep it that way
  24. Thanks for helping the dll editing team I've had a name-gathering running and didn't think of the database functions of the cuswe... Now it's merely a sorting contest (The ISD file has 100k Ascii text...)
  25. Well Starfighter pilot would be nice, too. You're right there too many people will want to be a Jedi, but first I'd need DSL or something to even spend all those hours online and still be able to buy some food
