  1. * hands Jahled a handkerchief * Dude, do you still have the poser file ? If you saved it, you could just load that again and set poser's rendering options to bmps. I'm sure that should be possible
  2. I know, but replacing that with a compatible one would be the same, as flashing the old one, IMHO. Of course, if the cpu socket won't fit the new cpu, then this wouldn't achieve anything, though. Mad, just nod and make Hmmm sounds
  3. Well, I found Poser always a bit more complicated, than 3dsmax. I've also got one rolling script model, that TK helped me find once and it'll be used for the opener in Reloaded The main factors to mess with your file's size, Jahled, are the resolution and the video codec you used. For example a 320x240 movie with DivX low-motion compression will use less than a 640x480 one without any compression at all You can also just let it render to bmps and make an animated gif
  4. The movies are in the Smacker format and rest in the MDATA folder on the cd. You need to download the movie patch and the Smacker player, usually hosted on my site, I just need to update the links again First of all: copy the MDATA folder from your cd to the directory, where you installed Rebellion. So that it's at the same level as EDATA, GDATA, ... Next, browse through the text file, I included in the smacker download. It gives you the original resolutions for each of the movies and how you need to name them, to be displayed at the appropriate moment in the game. Lastly, use the movie patch on your game's .exe file and the game will now play the (correctly encoded) movies from the new MDATA folder on your harddrive. To encode movies of your own, the need to have the correct resolution, then you can convert them with Smacker with the settings I mentioned in the text file. Pheeew, done.
  5. Here's one more from one of my favourite movies: History of the world, part 1 Mel Brooks as ... Moses: Hear me! Oh, Hear me! All pay heed! The Lord, the Lord Jehovah has given unto you these fifteen (*crash*)... Oy! ten, ten commandments for all to obey!
  6. Mundstuhl - Wurstwasser a hilarious song, that has no deeper sense whatsoever
  7. Um, but you're sure, that the processor fits onto your MB's socket ? If so, do you have an old processor, that fits with which you could flash the BIOS ?
  8. Ouch, reminds me of when I ripped of a toe nail last summer, while accidentally hitting my foot at the metal plug of the shower. Let's say I was suddenly fully awake
  9. As far as the active members go ... um, I think bobandrupert might be at that age, or slightly below. But with over 3500 registered ones and a lot of lurkers, you can never know. Despite, that this would also be there, whenever someone below that age signed up
  10. Ok, I had one of these moments last Sunday: I was drying my hair when suddenly the lights dimmed for a second. I put the hand with the thing down, as I quizzically looked up and then noticed, that the hair dryer had died. When I looked down to see what the matter was it suddenly spewed sparks and small flames. A startled (throaty, male ) shout later I let go of it and ripped the cord out of the socket. The flames and sparks were gone. Pheeew. The next thing I did was to test the security switch for the fuses and ponder on why it already hadn't shut down the whole flat Well, I'm just glad I was wearing my indoor shoes at that time and that I wasn't standing in water
  11. Post 'em both. We can never have enough models
  12. Um, you look for some halfway reliable, free hosts and upload it there
  13. Good work, Floros I'd also say, that you should upload it
  14. Nice one, Kaja Just a slight tip: try to make the fires a bit transparent, that makes them even better
  15. Amen Ok, that's enough religion for me, before xmas
  16. Hmm, well I don't say I agreed with every decision, that our former pope, Karol Woytila (at least I think that's the correct spelling ) made, either. But I guess, we can all but wait and see, how Benedict performs in his new job, since only he and god will know for certain, what he will do in the end
  17. Well, the position of the pope has no nationality attached to it, since the pope is the head of the catholic church all over the world. Also, while this comment was not hard to come up with, I do believe it was uncalled for. You wouldn't expect the head of this church to say something as absurd as waging a war with the whole world Now, on a more humorous note and to get away from these two incomparable topics: When my uncle got home today, he had already heard of the new pope in the radio, but the order of the news struck him as quite funny. First of all, the minister for Swabia (or Baden-Württemberg, as it is officially called ) is named Erwin Teufel. The last name means 'devil', btw. Today he announced his retirement. So what my uncle heard was : "…, Ratzinger is elected to be the new pope, devil has declared his retirement."
  18. Habimus papam Quite frankly, I didn't believe, that our next pope would come from Germany, guess I was wrong He comes from a little town in Bavaria, called Alt Ötting and was a trusted aide of our former pope for many years.
  19. I seem to have slept through the release of IG III. Looks good from the screenshots I could see, but the only downside I saw so far would be the max of 10 ships per side. The 26 hardpoints wouldn't trouble me that much, with only one in Rebellion You could always alter the fire-rate and -strength to simulate the correct damage
  20. Most of the ships are still not scaled correctly. The textures look good, but the ISD is missing some dents along the side edges.
  21. Story of the Year - And The Hero Will Drown
  22. I think he meant archiving RebEd in 1,4 MB parts, that would fit on floppy disks Although, if you have an usb stick ...
  23. The one on XWAU is easy to see through, since the language is nothing like GL, but I must admit I fell for it as well Would've been cool to finally get LA's attention, though. This way we could once again sing 'If we had the sourcecode...'
  24. Hi, you could download the new models you want from the download section here. Also, I advise you to download my model importer program, to easily bring them into the game (instructions included)
  25. I always knew you'd make it to the news, Mike But really, why didn't you mention our community, or for heaven's sake tell Lucasarts to release the Rebellion sourcecode ?
