*opens a sleepy eye and mumbles* Really ? I need to fix this
-
Nah, there's nothing wrong with the models Could be, that there's one .x file in the archive, that's not called "close.x", but something else, like "normal.x". If you rename that one to close.x then you should see it in game again. Other than that, RebEd doesn't use the game's 3d procedures, so a crash there doesn't mean, that it won't work in the game

Woo, best of luck, dude Expect to get a mild flue in the first few days, though Btw, they have classes about CounterStrike there ?
-
That's exactly what we did Defender, you'd just need a cheap mike in your soundcard's input connector and start practising. Jahled posted, what lines are still need to be done, so pick one from them and give it a go Anyone, who can sound like an old man (not necessarily frail, though) is highly encouraged to do so as well
-
Well, as long as the outcome is classy, nobody should ask, if the methods were cheap
-
Well, AFAIK: you have to send a copy of your student license/id to autodesk and you'll get a cheaper offer then (only ~150 or so a prof once told me). However, that license you obtain with that is only valid for a year. After that, you have to send in your id again to get a new licence, that will ensure, that 3dsm is still running on your computer. To my horror I discovered, that they implemented that in the serial of gmax as well, after I wanted to install it again, last year

If you downloaded the Smacker files from my site, you'll see the resolutions, that each movie has and can still hook up your own converted ones into the game Other than that, do I get you right and you couldn't copy the MDATA files from your cd ?

*sigh* All these nice models, just after I got home and won't have the uni's internet connection for over two months. Well, for the first two or three, I couldn't help you, even if I downloaded them at home. The thing is, that they are in version 7 and 6 of 3dsMax and I only have v5 The Republic cruiser is available as a .3ds file, though. Maybe you could start with that one. The conv3ds thingy is only intended to convert .3ds files into the .x format, btw. It wasn't too clear from your post, what you tried with it However, all these shiny scifi3d models you linked to, should have a very high amount of polygons, making the polycount unlikely to have Rebellion playable with even one of those ships Take a deep breath, look over my tutorials, start with a few simple models and lastly, try making the models yourself with a lot less polygons, than the ones on scifi3d. I know it's daunting at first glance, but you just need to give it a try. It's actually quite relaxing to model something

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (movie 2005)
the_mask replied to Lord_La_forge's topic in Outside Interests
I was actually waiting for the infinite number of Monkeys, but I guess that would've taken forever I liked the movie. Saw it ~2 weeks ago and the opening music was an homage to the old BBC version -
Is the model importer exactly one folder inside your Rebellion directory ? (for ex. Rebellion\_model importer\thefilesarehereandnootherdirectoryexcept'import'isinbetween). What did you put into the import folder ? An rmd file, a zip file, .x or .bin files ? As I've said before, the program works Let's find out, what you did, then.

Ahh, JM's old site with all the high-poly models You might stop yourself that kinda trouble, ToguroAni and simply head to his new page and download the lower-poly XWA versions from there. On Darksaber's site you should find a tool called opt23ds, that will allow you to convert the XWA OPT format to ... well, you guess right (Darksaber doesn't take too kindly, if you use his models, without asking for permission first.) Btw, it's much easier to make just one big texture (512x512) out of all these 30+ XWA ones and then load the 3ds model in Lith and simply move the vertex coordinates for every part (called 'Regroup xx' after conversion to 3ds) onto your new 512-sized material. With this method I could convert lots of XWA models in ~3-4 hours (uninterrupted, /w lots of cola in my veins) a piece. The other way around takes about that many days (Ok, I took a few breaks there, too ) EDIT: Be sure, to check the downloads section here, first. A few of JM's models were already converted by me and are downloadable already

How 'bout that brown material color, you used ? -
Did you add the download on the models section, yet ?

Woo, that's one great find there, DarthTofu

* eyes Mad * ... Mask, who is writing exams until mid-next week, but will try to look at the model after the one on Wednesday -
The build time is calculated from the amount of raw materials you gotta put into whatever you want to build. That, and the process rate of a building affect the build speed

Hehe, well Reloaded itself is going to be a bit larger than the average model download, although I don't know about the definite figure yet. But we'll probably divide it up into packages, like the main TC, movies and music, so those with less bandwidth can also download it in a reasonable amount of time Maybe we can also contact some of these game magazines with dvds, once we're done, so they can put the full Reloaded on one of their discs, too
-
Well, the only pc-challenging things should be the models, since everything else just overwrites the original entries (pics, movies, sounds)... But we're trying to keep the models below a certain amount of polygons, to make the TC playable on older computers, as well
-
Two attributes, that I'd never associate with them, anyway
-
Geez, I totally forgot, that you also lived there, Eko. Not a good thing to come home to, I guess. Glad you're alright Btw, I've just heard something about several bombs in Birmingham, that were successfully disarmed or detonated under the surveillance of a local bomb-squad. 30000 people were priorly evacuated, or so the news feed read. This is nuts, plain nuts...
-
Now that was a shock reading something about bombs in London, when I went to the pc-pool, after today's exam. I'm relieved, that you're alright Jahled. The internet would be a quite empty place without you I can only consent with Trej's post, hitting innocents for ... what ? The sheer glee of doing so ? That's cowardly and outright disgusting, period. However, to end such crap, those behind the scenes, who thought of this and other attacks would need to be found and brought to justice. If they're so convinced about their ideas, how come they don't spearhead them, instead of safely sitting in some bolt-hole and laughing about the fools, they made doing this instead ? Again, cowardly and disgusting. O tempore, o mores...

Ok, first of all: these are my own perceptions, you are free to ignore them 1. Well, first of all, it'd be the best to think of the concept For example, what units and characters you want to have and what they should replace. But then, continuing with RebEd would be a good plan, since seeing the work is rewarding and motivates you to continue with it. 2. In general, is it better to use RebEd to change the things that are currently available in the program or to change them right withing the DLLs themselves as I'm changing other things? 2. RebEd sure is more comfortable, so I'd use it wherever possible and do the rest, that can't be done with it via ResHack 3. Since you already have the protectorate installed, just look at the cards. They are altered in some ways, like cost and maintenance. That's something the AI seems to watch a lot, as well as armament, to decide on what to build. 4. I think Cain just replaced the ships from some slots to get there. For example, in the original game, the Empire often gets an ISD, or VSD on Coruscant. The Rebels often have Gallofree Transports or Corvettes, so you just switch the slots and tadaa 5. Hmm, you just need a good sound editing program, like Cool Edit, with filters that make the voice sound metallic and use a British accent in your recordings 6. Tatooine was most likely just marked as explored in RebEd's galaxy map, but if you change the starting location into Hoth, or any other planet, then this would be the Yavin, that you'd need to be under Rebel control as well. There's just this one planet set as under the control of them and you can't really add others. You'd have the same problem with Endor, except that you can make it into an explored and possibly neutral system with RebEd. Good luck with your TC

It plays during the Thrawn trilogy, 5 years after ROTJ Hey, it's just like in Windows: that's not a bug. It's a feature Think of it this way, the mission was either compromised by someone, or a spy of your side learned about its existance
-
I'm sure Jahled will reply soon
-
But if we'd replace a troop type with Fett, Bossk, ... , there'd be hundreds of them, instead of having them as unique characters.
