Well, besides having caught a cold from our lovely head secretary and therefore having had a pretty uneventful weekend, I looked up Vader's hunt and found it pretty balanced. The Alliance is quite cocky in their early attempts to take Coruscant and I could finally build more than one sort of ship at the start. Vader's ship popped out of hyperspace early in the game above Yavin and this way I caught Luke at day 50. I wonder how he will wiggle his way out of this, being an injured trainee and captured on Coruscant with the Emperor, enough troops and ships in orbit to flaw any escape attempt. I wonder though Cain, what you did to make Vader's Dreadnaught have no hyperdrive at the start of this savegame. Did you use the battlestations patch on it after you sent the ship into hyperspace ? Btw, if you're looking for something that gives you a run for your money, check out some from the second level. I can't remember which, but I think I started only with Coruscant and a pretty strong Alliance. Well, on the light side, you first have to fight against Bastila. Although somewhere along you can stop her, by argumenting, that the light side would be the only way and also that your character loves her, based on if you had that little encounter on the Ebon Hawk before. After you defeat/persuade her you battle Malak and he can be brought back to the light as well, just before he dies. The end sequence was not bad either, but it could've been more. I have to see, what the dark side is like some day. That Rodian on Manaan ? I haven't played this mission, cause I feared I would lose my light-side points and Bastila would get even pickier about my methods. But I read, that you can get special weapons and armor from them. At least they're in the game's item codes

The problem is, that RebEd can only replace files with the same length. So if your file is shorter, you'd have to make it as long to be accepted, also if your file is longer it wouldn't work, because of this. Give it a try with ResHacker, it doesn't care about the lengths
