  1. Yes, there's an article at TFN where he mentions that he won't be doing the sequel trilogy because he probably won't be around long enough. Of course, with all the money the movies rack in, I doubt that those at LucasFilm actually care whether GL is in the picture or not, they just need him to sign off on things and, while he's around, make movies. I personally believe that after GL has passed on, the people at LucasFilm will...well, let me illustrate it: As the tomb is closed over and the funeral ends, people come up to those who have inherited LucasFilm and offer their condolences. At the end of this parade of people, one of those staff workers who used to work for George turns to the other. First Staffy: "So, what do you now that he's dead?" Second Staffy: "Well, we do what we planned...." First: "Yes, we do...." Second: "So...who do you think will be willing to direct the next three movies?" Do you see what I'm getting at? I believe that after GL's dead, LucasFilm is just going to say "Goodbye George; hello sequels." Some fans think that it'll be a bad thing if that does happen, but I do not. I think that someone other than GL running things will be healthy for LucasFilm and STAR WARS. Again, my two or three cents on the matter.
  2. Har har har, there's just one thing...no one within the upper class of the Imperial Remnant knows I'm doing it without their consent.
  3. That's pretty disgusting, man.
  4. I guess that's the only explanation for them, since they seem to serve no other purpose. And why does it seem that the Empire's elite forces, the stormtroopers, can't shoot worth a damn?
  5. Hmm . . . grosser, ehh? Did he get attacked and mauled by a dog?
  6. And when Elvis' insignia is corrected (if he so desires). Oh, by the way, admininstration (specifically JediIgor and Evaders), if you happen to stumble across this post: I have sent you guys an e-mail concerning the ranks and rank insignia of the forums and my proposal for correcting them. Please do not simply ignore my e-mail. Thank you.
  7. Post #1300 Hey, by the way, Scath, have you updated your rank GIF file to include Elvis' and your soon-to-be, secret rank?
  8. If you mean what ruined them in ROTJ, then that's a little harder to pin-point, but if you mean in the over-all picture, then it was definitely. I mean, that could geezer was ruining things by allowing the politicians to squable so much with the military. Along with that, he made the mistake of making the Death Stars and, thus, sucked vital resources out of the Empire. He also ruined a government that would have probably worked better (worked better than both Republics) had it not been for so much corruption and problems inthe upper echelons of the Imperial government. For example, you had the head Imperial intellgence killed by his own daughter, who, subsequentally, took over for daddy (Ysanne Isard). You had a grand moff who apparently could care less about Vader's authority and was running rampid with a superweapon that was doomed to fail and who had been warned of the flaw (Tarkin). The list goes on and on. The problems all leading back to Palpatine. You see, he was a good leader in the sense that he could rally the people together for a common cause, but he was a bad commander. He would try to rally troops and command armies, but couldn't since he didn't have the experience and was far too cocky and egotistical to realize any of that; he tried to be what he couldn't. My point is that Palpatine is to blame for the Empire's ruin. Had it been led by someone such as Thrawn (or someother grand admiral or a grand general), then things probably would have turned out quite differently for our friends, the Imperials who have been reduced to a mere fraction of a fraction of their original size. I mean, even their name has been reduced: they are no longer the Galactic Empire, not even the Empire, they are the Imperial Remnant...who degrading....
  9. How did you have 30 posts in a day because of SWARMER? 400 in 3 months, not bad. Why did he leave?
  10. Indeed. At the moment I am being forced to read three books for an advanced placement English class and write one, one-page essay on each chapter of each book. And if I don't finish the assignment by the first day of school and turn it in then, I'll be kicked out of the class. Sigh. There goes my stressfree, carefree summer. The books are: -Walden by Henry David Thoreau -On Writing Well by William Zinsser -The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien Along with that, they have a list of nine books I have been expected to all ready have read. Luckily I have read eight out of the nine. So, to add to the list of books I have to read is: The Odyssey By Homer I had a pretty big stack of books I had planned to read for enjoyment...but now.... There goes that.
  11. Of course not! We are better than those darn trekkies! Excellent, a BEAK apprentice....
  12. YIPEE! And I think the planet itself had been called something else after that, but I may be wrong. Though GL did include Coruscant for a brief moment in the special edition with the celebration of the Emperor's death, which, again, is another contradiction to the EU. I had noticed this as well when I was writing a STAR WARS story some time back and the computer didn't like Coruscant. I clicked my spell check suggestions and it gave me coruscate, which, like Scath said, means to gleam and such. Yeah, of course, Scath.
  13. Why is that so odd? The Death Star's a pretty big station.Well, granted, yes, the Death Star was a pretty big station, but you'll notice that the enourmous-ravine-that-is-there-for-no-reason is a reoccuring motif that, well, doesn't make any sense. I mean, look at ALL that space you could fill up with equipment, troops, ships, etc, but no, instead those HUGE open spaces are needed to make sure runaway soon-to-be-Jedi and Alderaanian princess don't escape if the bridge controls go out. My point: why are those HUGE ravines there?
  14. I hope you didn't take it wrongly, but we just didn't understand what you were asking and stating. I had had a feeling that Episode IV: A New Hope had been added later on, but I hadn't had any confirmation. Thanks, Scath! And yipee, three! Now, was it better for GL to make Episode I first? Well, if he had, I seriously doubt that a sequel would have followed, much less an entire franchise. I think that starting with ANH was the perfect way of kicking off SW. I mean, think about: you're thrown into a catalismic civil war on the scale of a galaxy where you know A LOT has happened before-hand (allusions to the Clone Wars, General Kenobi, "Have you been in many battles?", etc), which intrigues the audience further, making them want to sit on the edge of their seat and lean forward. Had he started with Episode I, he would have been starting from scratch with a fresh story that hand no pretenses at all and would have been "So here's the jedi and here's the bad guys. War will break out soon, probably the next movie, but not yet, so sit back and watch a human dressed up in a Gungan costume (no CGI back then) run around and act stupid and some brat kid ruin the movie." With that, no one would have wanted a sequel and, thus, SW would have been left hanging from the edge of a cliff without any story but a movie that will eventually lead to something. And to add to that, GL had very little money to make Star Wars, so he literally could not afford to screw up. Well, those are my two--three cents.
  15. Was it the years of listening to music?
  16. Yes, GL's original idea had been that he gets into a fight with Kenobi, but loses and falls into a pit of lava/molten pit. That can also be found on that Episode III script everyone believed I wrote, which I had not. But I have heard that GL has since changed his idea (surprise, surprise ). So my guess is either lava or a fight with someone who can zap lightening bolts and he gets zapped way too much.
  17. Thus supporting my idea that SW was originally meant to be about the droids and their experiences, travels, adventures, stories, etc (hence the Threepio/Artoo beginning to the SW franchise). We can tell. The avatar tells it all, man.
  18. My words exactly. Okay, the BEAK Imperium is something around here. BEAK stands for Boring Explanations And Korrections (yes, we realize the irony to korrections), but don't worry, it's not truly an insult to anyone else put me. It's all rooted in a LONG explanation--which was, apparently, boring--I gave back when I first joined over ranks and rank insignia, and how the forum rank insignia are wrong and should be corrected. I am the Grand Imperator of BEAK, the leader of all of this. Scath could probably fill you in even better than I. Speaking of the forum ranks, I e-mailed JediIgor at last to see what he says about correcting them...now I'm awaiting a response....
  19. I'll add what I know: Fleet Admiral Socl came to a meeting (which included the legendary General Antilles) to negotiate to work together with the Republic for the good of the galaxy without the knowledge nor consent of the upper echelons of the Empire/Imperial Remnant. He has devulged that the Empire has secret weapons, one of which being the Imperial Tempest Special Operations Strike Fleet, that could possibly bring an end to this bloody war against the Vong, but that the emperor does not wish it to be known due to such things as ego. He has also divulged that there are many other secrets the empire has, which he shall show to the Republic in due time. Okay, really, I just added what's going on with my characters (kind of like a covertly rogue movement within the Empire/Imperial Remnant). Hope that helped.
  20. I, apparently the only Imperial and seem to have been the only that voted we would last.... Well, after a while of going along and RPGing.... "Dodo, Sabertooth, Wooly mammoth here we come...!" Don't get me wrong, I shall continue to RP, but only as long as others do as well.
  21. Perhaps, but look how long C-3PO and R2-D2 have been around! They've been through everything! I think they'll both be good for another 900-1000 years. My point: the droids may eventually out-last Yoda in total time.
  22. Well, it's what I understood from the e-mail that guy (?Hugh Sider or something like that) sent you.
  23. Well, it's what I understood from the e-mail that guy (?Hugh Sider or something like that) sent you.
  24. What? My thoughts exactly! Are you losing it ElvisMiggell? Aren't you reading too many posts these days?I think Elvis needs a co-Moderator, or at least an assistant. ::cough:: SCATH! ::cough::
  25. I knew he was deaf and at one point I knew why. He wasn't born that way.... Was it because someone pulled his ears--wait, that was Thomas Edison.... Wasn't it simply old age?
