RL? Well, it basically means that the government owns it, the people pay a little higher taxes, but it's free (almost). I thought that the Netherlands had medicare and such socialized. For instances, I've heard the Dutch pay high taxes, but medicare insurance and such are free (or almost). Is that true? Did I get at least part(s) of it correct?

SOCL looks around, confused. "What?! You can see me?! This is supposed to be a one-way communication, not a holographic..." The Imperator looks off screen. "Cut the communication at once!" The holographic disaster ends.
-
Right on, bro! Congratulations!
-
Hmm... Good question. I'll send in my best agent... He'll find out... ...well...maybe.
-
Watch it, Trejy! I think he is... ...wait! Scath you're attempting to establish a monopoly of sobriquets, aren't you?! You establish them and remain founder and owner! ...I see how it is.
-
Yes...that's why Trej tells me to "shut my BEAK."
-
Body shape, size, and mass match...I'm inclined to agree.
-
Oops! Sorry, about that Scath, everything is going to be okay. You too, mask, everything will be fine. Now both of you go back to playing with your action figures like good forumers. Psst, LaForge, keep the real world underwraps...I almost let it slip there. Heh heh heh.
-
No, guys, I have nothing against blue chicks! You guys got me all wrong! I love Chiss girls, and, hey, they're blue! Hey, Trej, I don't think that socializing telecommunications is bad thing...as matter of fact, I think it's a pretty good idea! I think they should do the same with medicare and some other things (as vague as that may be).
-
Yes, I've heard that one before, Scath, but it's funny every time! Only one question: You only noticed the horse after you took your first sip of beer? Either, A) You are blind, or B) You can't hold your alcohol. Have you ever seen the Discovery Channel commericals?... Ooo, excellent!
-
By the way, Scath, JediIgor told us to contact Evaders about it. Are you going to take it this time?

"Imperator", you gave the best insight! Now I know why my SpecOp troopers don't succeed...they're all French! I knew I should have hired that Norwegian special operations team, but no, the guys over in the Ministry of the Treasury said that the French troops would cost us less and yield the same results! DAMN THEM! The Grand Imperator runs to his desk, after stumbling over a random box left on the floor, and jabs the commlink. "Yes, Your Grand Imperatorness?" a voice returns. "Susie, get me the Minister of the Treasury!" "I'm sorry, sir, but Minister Saddam bin Bush has left the planet." "What?! Damn!" SOCL walks away from the desk to the telescreen, stumbling over the box in the process. Looks up at the other SWR.N forumers. "Listen up, everyone, this is Grand Imperator SOCL, Ruler of all Corrections, Khan of Annoying Explanations, and Caliph of BEAKness, I am sending out my Special Operations troopers to capture my Minister of Treasury, please help them out as much as possib--wait..." Looks around. "Ex that! I am putting out a twenty million credit bounty for the head of my Minister of Treasury!" SOCL turns to his personnal aide, who suddenly materializes from thin air. "You, aide-slave, order all Imperial BEAK Special Operations troopers executed at once!" The aide looks a tad puzzled. "Sir, we usually have the special operations troopers do these sort of things...who do we send to assasinate them?" SOCL considers the question. "Right...contact Emperor Elvis, Grand Vizier Scathane, Warlord Mask, Warlord Jahled, General LaForge, and...Trejiuvanat--whatever his title is--and ask them to loan us their special operations troopers. Then, have their troopers execute ours." "Yes, ma'am." "Sir!" "Sorry, sir: Yes, sir." "Immediatley afterward, put out an ad on that banner exchange...what's it called?" "Sci-Fi banner--" "Silence, you! As I was saying, put out an ad for new SpecOp troopers for the BEAK Imperium!" "Yes, ma'am." "SIR!" "Yes, sir! Sorry, sir!" I know, extended, but oh well.

Evaders, his books are not Anti-American, they are Michael Moore using his right to free speech. Do I agree with everything he says? Of course not! Is he asking you or anyone else to agree with what he says? Of course not! But it's not anti-American "rhetoric," it's thoughts and opinions of the United States of America from a different point of view. Let me guess, Evaders, you're Republican? Has anyone here read Howard Zinn (A People's History of the United States) or Noam Chomsky (Imperial Democracy), by any chance? They're considered to be some of the greatest, unbiased minds among historians. -
Thank you, all, for your congratulations on my advancement! Now, you must all advance here with Elvis, Scath, Trej, and I! Then we'll have too many chiefs and not enough Indians! ...err...never mind. It seems that Grand Imperator is winning...I expected as much. In keeping with BEAK Imperial doctrine: The reason I wouldn't make my rank Grand Imperator of BEAK is because that is a title, not a rank. Just how, for instances, a battalion commander is a lieutenant colonel, that is his rank, but his title is Battalion Commander. It's the same with Grand Imperator and Grand Imperator of BEAK. A better example: Prime Minister is a rank, Prime Minister of the Hardtopronouncia is a title. The second "of etc." is added, it becomes a title. So, thank you for the suggestion, Elvis (and it's not to say that your rank isn't correct, just that you are Emperor and your title is Emperor of the Force...sort of), but I wouldn't want to add "of etc." to the end of my rank. I hope that made sense. Mask, I would VERY interested in seeing your suggestion for rank insignia! (Am I correct in assuming it's for Grand Imperator (of BEAK)?) You see, I only have insignia for the Supreme Moff choice...the others would have to be created...and I am open to suggestions on that part, but that depends on what wins (lets say...within a week). Of course, I won't put up my rank until the nu ranking system is in place... Imperial doctrine also dictates I explain this: In case you are wondering, I put Dictator down in reference to the Roman governmental position of dictator, not the relating to connotation must people have of the word. Also, tyrant was a governmental position among the Greeks (specifically the Spartans) with the same basic duties as a Roman dictator... Get what I mean? Hey, Trej, I thought BEAK was Boring Explanations And Korrections... That's right, not even I am 100% sure... Perhaps we should ask founder and owner of the BEAK Imperium, Grand Vizier Scathane the Astromech.... Again, thank you the congratulations! ...now staee and hav a phew duzin drincks with mee!

Err...um...do we here at SWR.N have a form of the American Patriot Act in use?... I'm a tad afraid of saying someone's name I probably shouldn't.... That I don't know about. Indeed; and now that I am part of the Order of 2000 Posts, Scath and I can combine our powers...there is no doubt that it will be implemented. ...right, Scath?

What?! What's that supposed to mean?! This, I think...: I still don't get "Imperator"'s "no jokes" comment. American games, heh-heh. -
Probably! Oh no...

He has a point...she'll keep you intune with the real world.

...0! WOOHOO! WOO YAY! YIPPEE! HA-HA! WOO!!! At last, I, SOCL, have succeeded in what many have not! Less than a year ago I was but a mere cadet teaching those above me the ways of what would eventually become the BEAK Imperium. Over time, I came to love this place and have made many friends. During that time, I was dubbed the Grand Imperator of Boring Explanations And Korrections, or BEAK, as I continued my wild, if not sometimes random explanations and "korrections" of all things I could! Though I went through two major disappearances (two grand wars against the PC menace) and the loss of girlfriend, I have striven on, most helped along my my friends here at SWR.N! And now, at last, I am part of the coveted Order of 2000 Posts! Come and celebrate with me! We shall feast (on spam...heh) for many-a-posts here in this topic until a moderator gets sober and shuts us down! By the way, do the poll, too! It concerns my soon-to-be nu rank! There's a few of the ones I like, but you can suggest one as well!

You guys don't seem to understand the level of stupidity my commandos seem to posses. At times, to destroy a single GenCore I'll send twenty teams! Each team consists of one to three commandos on mission and four to ten as decoys!!! So we're talking about a lot of man-power! I deploy them to planets that usually don't have people, troops, or anything, just damned GenCores (since I don't trust them to do anything else). I send the teams in a total of ten to twenty days (sometimes two a day, sometimes just one). Well, you'd think that of all the teams, at least one would be able to do it...WRONG! DAMN THEM! Not even one of them could succeed on the easiest mission in the whole freakin' galaxy! They all either return (usually missing about half their team) or simply don't return at all! WHAT THE HELL?! The game must be coded to hate me!!! :x ...1...

If I recall correctly you lived in Puerto Rico the first five (?) years of your life, although you are a spanishspeaker, you have been more in contact with the english language. Cortazar, is among the hardest spanish-writing author (if not the hardest). His style can be very confusing, he changes the narrator's point of view several times within one sentence, he plays with time and mind. He has one book, called Rayuela, that particular book can be read in two different ways. In another book he incorporates newspaper articles into the story. Or he simply starts writing with ortographic mistakes. They are not easy reads, they are rather hard to understand, I've read Rayuela thrice and I'm still dealing with some stuff, (particularly some stuff he put in in French). I know some people that read some books, and didn't like them because they didn't understand them, particularly some of the aspects of the problematic (as usual latinamerican identity problem) were hard to understand. If you think you can handle Cortázar go ahead, they are good books, but they might give you a hell of a time. Especially if you read them while reading other books at the same time. `Didn't mean to provoke that. Nope, haven't read it. It's more of an American book, so I wouldn't imagine so. :D Yes... ...3... -
...ohhhh-kaaayyy. Are you guys doing alright? ...5...

Not quite, just...issues. We're getting redirected here and there...Trej knows what I'm talking about. No, because in 5 more posts I will be at the 2k barrier and it will be fixed and arranged and firgured-out soon before, if not very soon after... It will be implemented. ...5...
