  1. Give us some days man, Mask got next week free, so he probably will finish it soon. If not, bomb him with PMs :D I1ll get some final shots together
  2. we are currently finishing the advisor 3d models for the empire. The NR advisors were installed about a week ago. Probably, they'll have the orginial voices in the beta (c3po and imp22), but I hope, that this small "error" wil be corrected in the first release (patch)

  9. Totally forgot about this part, I have to watch the movie again! :D:D
  10. Kurt Russel as Han? That would be interesting (definetly a good choice I think)
  11. Yes, I see what you mean, and your oppinion fits quite well in our humanistic, modern society, I rather ment the past of Europe. Rome was always like a stable point in history. Great rulers, kings really loved to get some linkage with the Roman Empire somehow, as it represented an idea of power, and total reign. Just think of the Holy Roman Empire. It was actually a german empire, still they named it "roman". "Before the Renaissance, Western Christians regarded the German kings who ruled the Holy Roman Empire as legitimate heirs of the ancient Roman Empire through a transfer of rule (translatio imperii) to Charlemagne. The Greek Byzantine Empire and Eastern Christians always rejected this claim. For centuries historians have treated the Holy Roman Empire as completely distinct from the Roman Empire of classical times." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Roman_Empire And so on... we could come up with lot of examples. That was my point. And it's legacy doesn't only come with grand buildings. Just think of the thingy we call "roman law"
  12. Mali! I only know, that they have great music. It's a MUST, especially for you, Jahled! 13. Thanks, I will check that. I was just wondering because many teachers tell about Vergil's story as it was something huge. In school I was told 10 years ago, that this writing is one of the greatest epics ever told from the ancient times. After reading it with more experience, I'm pretty sure that the importance of this book is poorly historical, and it could survived with it's fame, mostly, because Rome, and the Roman Empire itself had always been something that Europeans were proud of. (like as I have learned last 7 years, it's art and architecture design (mostly got from the greeks of course) were used all over the past 1500 years. Even my university looks like a roman building (not greek, rather roman.) So I think the Aeneid is so famous and beloved, because it is about the glory of the Roman Empire. Which was an all time favourite topic in the past centuries. But the story itself is quite forced and maybe a bit kitschy even. I don't know why people still are teaching that Vergil and Homer are somehow on the same level. Must be some strange habit here
  14. Very nice description of romans there SOCL. Good to see such small essays time by time And as far my knowledge reaches, I think it's totally correct. I've read the Iliad several times (my all time favourite book. Diomedes rulez) but as for the Aeneid, I couldn't finish it. It was just "wrong" somehow. Without judging it of course, you could tell me your opinion about Vergil's book. I felt it was a bit like "forced". (mostly because of the "hidden" linkage with Augustus) Are you sure? I thought he is the son of Venus in Vergil's tale.
  15. I'm not planning to do that, maybe for the full version of the tc later on, with the assistance of the community perhaps
  16. If everything goes well, it will be out until the end of March. (beta will have all important feauters in it, so don't get confused. The beta will be fully playable, yet unbalanced. Only some movies and voices are missing.)
  17. WOO! I'm mean Wii! Wii is really a nice idea. I hope it will grow to something large.
  18. Overall I like it, but am still getting "use" to it. The "header" is bigger than before, and the "logo & gray guy" kinda remind me of the Cartoon Network "Clone Wars" style. If this is going to be permanent LLF, make sure you check all possible page loadings (some of them looked messed up because the left side column is much longer than the loaded page. It looks like two different pages loading on top of each other. As an example go to the Main Page; click on OTHER, then click on GALLERY). Now that "blue" has been mentioned several times, I'm beginning to relate, but ... it still looks OK to me. And as J has mentioned: NO Ewoks ... please; keep our little Nogrhi friend (although, I never have read anywhere about Nogrhi being a Jedi ). Keep up the good work to all of those involved!! I guess that means you LLF and any "helpers" Thanks! I've tried to find the error you wrote down, but couldn't. Can you send some screenshots to Evaders and me? What browser are you using?
  19. Why? Could you be a little more specific? What from the first quote did you want addressed? I think SW should belong to the fans because if we weren't around, GL wouldn't bother w/ it anymore. He only cares because it allows him to make money, NOT because he still cares about SW. Yes but you are a fan of something, he created, and still has the copyrights for everything with it. SW belongs to Lucas, and it's good that way, as we can ignore anything in the EU if we want to (even if it's good) as we have a strong, but not flawless canon with his movies. Being a resentful fan is just useless. I'll try to love SW the way it is, with all with it's flaws. And if I was able to do that, I'll be happy to call my self SW fan. I also wouldn't say that GL doesn't care anymore, and is only after the money, as probably his whole life is about star wars anyway. He sure loves SW, but also want to show it to everyone. Like Jahled already wrote. But sure, thime will come when Lucas steps aside. Who know what things will come
  20. Better getting used to it. I think this is the first, rahter large change in the design since...ever. I'm sure nobody really need that, though it makes the site more attrative I think. I'm suprised, that only a few members recognize our mascot! We had a poll for it, and it was decided to be a fluffy jedi noghri guy. It isn't a wookie (how did you come up with this) or a "gray thing". I have used comic book references to create him, so that's why he doesn't look like as they were in Rebellion (Reloaded will use a similar noghri appearance). I still could place there an EWOK as revenge, if you want I love ewoks, but it won't be that uniqe as this little guy. There were also attempts to write him a background story. I'm not entirely satisfied with the logo however. If you don't like the droid (which is NOT an r2d2 unit) it could go. But let me have some ideas or sketchings then. The banner is partially my fault, as I didn't design the header to contain it. (we need to have it up somewhere )
  21. Feel free to be more agressive on it it's beta anyway. I'm thinking about an update of those icons in the tree menu
  22. must be an older version of Han. I have this picture of him on my box-cover too.
  23. Crap and Ubercrap
  24. Merchandising! Jar Jar and the ewoks were for the kids, and for the toy-factories Good money for everybody, and of course for GL. Those stormies could have failed in such a battle with a small assistance of the rebellion. Ewoks would use guerilla warfare to defeat any intruders. Also, they seemed to be no threat for the empire, and were ignored which led to a real suprise attack (where the empire was outnumbered by fluffyness). If you see the facts, that was a pretty realistic scenario, however the movie show that event rather comical, where stormies are just some nerds running around like noobs and got hit by stones Go ewoks! I still support them. And their music is great btw.
