  1. I like the models they've got there. I think we should have it as one big timeline. We get more flexibility and can include a better range of ships.

Well, i'd say look in the other forum, and also, let's be ambitious, we can change so much now, we can make this look really, really good.
  3. The Marauder has appeared in several books, i think, the idea being that it was a cheap oldish cap ship, that pirates favoured, but the Rebs could conceivably have used them because they were cheap and pretty rugged.
  4. If you have the XJ wing which two Reb ships would you start with?
  5. Hmm, a toughie this one is. X-wing A-wing Already researched, followed by E-wing, then K-wing. Fits best with the time period and research order. I think. I'd agree with Igor, by the time we get to the droid we're gonna want a ship that can be mass produced very cheaply, just to overwhelm the Reb pilots, who have better ships comparedto a droid.
  6. Hmmm, a tough one. B wings are cool, but so are K-wings, what do we have in the way of resources for a K-wing? Do we have any decent ideas of what it really looks like?
  7. If we do that shouldn't we make the fighters more expensive too? Or else there'll just be a temptation to flood the game with fighters and we'll take away from the fun of the big fleet battles?
  8. Sounds good to me guys, lets see what we can come up with, i'll have a look through some books and see if i can get any encyclopaedia references for characters, especially minor Imperial guys. I'll try and have them for monday.
  9. Only problem is we don't know, when was the Eclipse actually DESIGNED, or are we going to do it by when they appeared.
  10. It's in the Rogue Squadron books where Isaard reappears. It's a much smaller DS, with multiple beam weapons, none strong enough to destroy a planet, but all strong enough to take out a capital ship. It had multiple exits for the superlaser so that i didn't have to turn to face it's enemy, but could only fire one shot at a time. Covered in lasers and turbolasers it was supposed to be the ultimate threat to a fleet.
  11. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
  12. But not based on SW? I wonder how moddable it's gona be...? I think it's out at the end of January now.
  13. Oh well in that case Star Wars wins.
  14. Okay, i'm now officially freaked.
  15. Just what any consciencious officer would do.
  16. I don't know whether to be impressed or disturbed that you got a picture! Looks alright though, have to try it some time.
  17. Oh yeah? We CALL them human, to all intents and purposes they APPEAR human. Would ST have succeeded if Kirk and his crew had been Klingons and Spock a Romulan? Hmmm? No. Stand yourself next to Luke, and tell me you KNOW you are physically the same as him in all biological terms. We can't. Imagine if the English had evolved separately from the rest of the world. We know that the SW universe is AT LEAST 5000yrs old. Now let the English evolve right from the start of time for 5000 years, do the same with the Americans in a totally separate universe with all sorts of different radiation depending on the local stars and nebulae, plus the flora and fauna of that planet. Introduce them. Tell me they're the same size, mass, look the same, think the same, have the same science, can even find a way to communicate. Things as subtle as body language may well not be the same. This is where most of my alien theory comes from, and my disbelief of many abduction stories. Why would they be interested in the first place? WHY WOULD THEY EVEN BE RECOGNISABLE PHYSICAL BEINGS??? They could be made from plasma, or a state we don't even know exists, or a state that CANNOT coexist next to us, or even in our universe. Can an object, let alone a being from another of the infinite dimensions exist in our own dimension? Chances are it would cease to exist. These concepts are too radical for us to begin to imagine. I know i've strayed off the point a little, but do you see where i'm going with this? The chances of noticeable existance, mucxh less compatibility are infinitesimal.
  18. Yeah, although i don't know whether you can edit the fire rate for the twelfth Imperial ship with the special weapon.
  19. Ooookay, nice long post for me to reply to. These are just my thoughts in reaction to yours, and are not neccesarily, by any means, correct. Shields:- I see where you're coming from, but there are a few things to point out, i think. Higher ships should have much better recharge rates, they're designed with newer technology and bigger and better power sources. Yes strarfighters are a threat, but even Rogue Squadron can't take out an SSD. Remember, they were hard pressed taking out an ISD with a Modified Corvette for help, or was that the Wraiths? Either way, you see what i mean. One thing i would point out is that Mon Cals are supposed to have brilliant shields, plus multiple redundancies. I couldn't give you precise values, but what you suggest sounds reasonable, if the weapons stay the same as before, or near enough. But i do think the Mon Cals should have stronger shields. They were better at concentrating, so smaller ships effectively could manage the same number of weapons and shield strength as a much larger Imperial ship. Carriers traditionally carry one wing - six squadrons, the same as an ISD. Smaller ships should have plenty of laser cannons, and a couple of turbolasers, and MAYBE an ion cannon or two. Bigger ships still have the laser cannons, for close range point defence against fighters, not too many, and not too long range, they're more for defence than offense. Bigger ships should have plenty of turbolasers. I more or less agree about the range, although Gunships and similar ships should have plenty of range on their lasers, as they are offensive anti-starfighter ships, their turbolasers should be short range, just enough to maybe help them if an ISD ends up on top of them. I think you're right about starting units.
  20. Haven't found one yet, but i'm looking. Played Outcast on th xbox the other day. Not as good as the pc version, although i do like the movies and the gallery, but the pc still wins hands down in terms of playability.
  21. But the people playing this arent Thrawn, and won't be as clever as him, also, even if the Pulsar can fire more often, which i'm not sure can be changed, it's still going to be limited by the game, so you couldn't just crush the ships if you were feeling cocky.
  22. I like the site but i don't think we should change what they've done, we could use some of their models if they'll let us, but i don't think we should take a model, modify it and then call it something else, unless they're happy with that.
  23. I think i can get hold of some pic of what the second death star was supposed to look like. Pretty much the same as the first, but about twice the size. A completed and fully functional Pulsar Station is an idea worth considering....
  24. Wicked! Now, if we can just get the textures sorted out, we'll be well on our way to getting the models for the tc done....
  25. A second DS? As in DS II? In tactical? So we can edit the DLL and make a completed DS II? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
