EDIT: I've been working more on the Metroid mod! The fighters work great now. I should work on the capital ships soon. I just have one question:I have to replace Bossk and IG-88. However, I'm already partway through Sylux. Should I use... Ghor>IG-88Rundas>Bossk, Ghor>IG-88Gandrayda>Bossk, Sylux>IG-88Gandrayda Ghor>IG-88Sylux>Bossk, Sylux>IG-88Rundas>Bossk, or so on. The good thing about using Gandrayda is that I could have more than one Hunter packed into one package. The only problem is that fans would consider this serious nerfing of their characters and Gandrayda would be unbelievably cheap.(Imagine having Ghor, then having him die and spawning a Rundas, then he dies and makes a Space Pirate, the pirate dies quickly and turns into SAMUS, who, after a long battle, dies and finally morphs into Gandrayda. THAT's overpowered.) And before you ask, I already have Weavel. He replaced Urai. Not very Urai-ish, but I just based him on Samus and switched his company name. 1upD Posted August 10, 2008 Author Share Posted August 10, 2008 I'm currently replacing IG-88 with Sylux, but I can always just rename his company file, make Ghor and IG-88 clone, and have two IG-88 replacements. That works too. I'm actually thinking Gandrayda might be good...As I said, she'd be a bunch of units strung together. When one dies, another spawns. I could have a whole sequence of heroes like that until finally Gandrayda emerges. She might be hard to skin though...Would I use Mara or a Twi'lek? Neither of them look like her! Lavarider Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 Eight factions, and I found that some of my models were WAY over ploy. Believe it or not, I even had a 64 megabyte model in there....?!?! I reduced all of them to a meg or less. Im still working on shrinking it farther actually. Once Ive shrunk it to what I believe is a reasonable level (less than 700 megs when complete) Ill post it. You have to remember, Ive got a couple TBs of HDD space, so size has kinda been the last thing on my mind, Droid...I wasnt paying attention. But it would be kinda lame to have all these renamed Metroid characters spread throughout your story. Quadraxis is ok because he didn't have a major role in the Metroid story and was kind of cliche in terms of sci-fi enemies. Ridley, however, is a trademark villian of the Metroid series and would easily be spotted as a copied character. Also, my mod is going quite well. I was just testing it earlier and it's quite fun. Sylux is a bit overpowered, he killed Kyle Katarn in one life-siphon. I have to add some more vehicles though, as I found myself forced to spam infantry because I didn't have any working vehicles. I must have forgotten to post my screenies of DS, Weavel, Omega Kraid, and the SP fighters. I'll have to do that soon. I'll remember to take screenies when I resume my saved game from earlier today. Just note that I used pink player colors as a test and it looks sorta wierd because of it. The Space Pirate Commander worked for a day but after some minor adjustments crashed up the game and I have lost the enthusiasm required to debug a unit like that.
