ElvisMiggell
Okay boys, that's too far, any more of that and I delete the thread. So apart from money, what is the root of all evil? Loadsa theories abound, be they the Darkside, the various ancient evils in Buffy, are the desolate raw passion and love of power in LotR. Fair enough, they're all fantasy, but what about the real world? What do people think is the real cause of evil here? Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine... Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
dude21
Its the obsession to get much money and power in capitalism. Thats the evil problem the capitalism.NOTHING is important except money and power. "I am growing stronger with the Force"
Guest Scathane
I don't think that capitalism is the ultimate evil and most certainly not the root of it: evil is far older than capitalism... A good question though...thinking about it, I always get back to archaic, classical juxtapositions between good and evil... For the rest of the matter I sometimes wonder whether there actually is any evil... It might just as well be difference in viewpoint...

dude21
A part is the society! If u dont have power and mighty you are poor and weak and will be forced by strongers. In childhood u see this very clearly. The bigger childs force the smaller. And in older jears its the same, u just dont see it such patently. But it is.The guy with more money can use a better advocator and gets a lower punishment for same act. There are many exampels out there (better doc, better food, better job ) "I am growing stronger with the Force"

Trejiuvanat
Humans are still animals, they still obey the need to survive and assure the sruvival of their genetic material... Therefore the need for power, and power is jsut a way to obtain everything else they need. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif

Guest Scathane
than without the queen... Even without the queen: nobody really wants to work selflessly for a boss , only serving his/her needs, now do they?but u as dutch must know how to work for a queen In essence, you have a point here because it's disputable what she delivers for the money she's paid... Guest Scathane
Well, here you've got their yearly allowances: The Queen: € 3.966.000 The Crown Prince: € 949.000 Princess Máxima, wife to the Crown Prince: € 836.000 Princess Juliana (former Queen): € 1.071.000 Prince Bernhard, husband to Juliana: € 652.000 So, as you can see, we pay them quite handsome sums of money... and we're talking tax payers' money here... For 4 million €: I'll wear a fancy dress and force myself to go to big parties and talk to celeberties...  HELL: I'd do it for a nicle. Not the dress part, though... Guest Scathane
The Netherlands have 16.221.730 inhabitants (for all of you English folks, treat the dots as commas and vice versa). This means that the Queen costs me a 25 eurocents per year, the Crown Prince costs me 6 eurocents, his wife costs me about the same, the former Queen costs me 7 euro cents and her husband 4. This makes a total of 48 eurocents per annum. Â That's not expensive, is it? Especially not since the poulation of the Netherlands has grown to 16.221.732 during the time I was writing and calculating this post, they're getting cheaper by the day! dude21
OK Scathane thats not fully right here u calculate with all Inhabitants: Baybies, children, olds...U must calculate with the working part of the society. And then its more than 1 EURO "I am growing stronger with the Force"
Guest Scathane
In March 2003 there were approximately 7.452.830 working people and 395.000 unemployed people in the Netherlands. This totals to 7.847.000 people. These people all pay taxes. In fact people who are enjoying their pension or who do not work because they're disabled, widowed or who are just plain rich also pay taxes, so the actual number of people paying taxes is higher. We've established that the allowances for the House of Orange amount to 4.474.000 euros. So, this means that, based on the working people alone, the average Dutchman pays 7 eurocents for the House of Orange.
