Ah, well, Battlefield-Heroes, will have nothing in common with everything of the Battlefield-Series released before and, I´m afraid, will be full of annoying adds. Expect that you´ll have to spend minutes watching clips and adds until you´ll be finally connected to a game-server. :?

Well what I found out today is that Windows XP has the option to play games from Windows 95. I had to go through some troubleshooting guides, but eventually I found the option. I think it rewrites the path for the game, so whenever I go to play it the computer automatically shifts, changes screen resolution, and I am able to play my games.

Thus I spent the third day of my spring break playing old PC games when I should have been doing something more constructive...

Which classic games did you enjoy, Rob?

Heh, well they may not be "classic" per say, but they were classics to me, since they were the few games I had for the PC. I've been spending a lot of time revisiting Imperialism. It was my first RTS, and is most excellent.

Other games from my childhood included Magic: The Gathering (yes, it was a PC game), Lords of Magic, and Sim City.

Edit:

My spring break has ended. Between Thursday and Friday my friends and I put in a little over 13 hours into the Wii. Played a lot of Super Smash Bros, Worms, and Bomberman Land. All are great party games.

That´s exactly what I meant. :)

Hm, I´ve got Imperialism 2 somewhere, but never really played it. Gotta check it finally out asap. :?

So long as they have these as a unit I'm totally in. Do the aliens look like the ones from Toy Story to anyone?

And there's the floating head thing from Doom

I FINALLY put down my Wii and got around to catching up on my PS2 library. I forgot how much I loved the God of War franchise. I loved the first one, and I just started playing God of War II today. Now I really want a PS3 so that I will be able to snag the third one next year. Such a great story and the gameplay is superb.

Sorry to be a spoil-sport, Rob, but I tried out GTA IV on a friend's 360. It rocked. Hard. It was tons of fun to just drive around, get in car chases, and blow up cop cars with a semi-truck. I cackled maniacally and enjoyed myself. It was splendid-tacular.

However, I'm going to guess like every other GTA game it will start off fun and exciting - with grand freedoms to kill and cause mayhem. But then it begins to get stale, and fast. I played the original 3 GTA's (non of the other GTA 3 ones like San Andreas or whatever it was), and every time it was the same thing. Great game to start off with - fun, exciting and full of evil laughter. Better with friends. Hell, the first time I played GTA 3 was on a mates PS2 in a class and it was a blast. A month later or so and the each game was stale. I just got, as did a lot of my friends, bored with it. And that's because you figure out everything you can do in a week or two of intense gaming and then it's more of the same over and over and over. Semi-recently I tried to pick up GTA 3 to play again, and after installing and beginning the game I got bored within half an hour.

I hope GTA 4 has added something to make it more interesting and address the fundamental flaw with its game play - but in all honesty I strongly doubt it seeing how popular every other one has been.

Never actually played the series :?

Speaking of GTA 4, here's an "interesting review" And yes, highly NSFW

And some game/movie news.

I'd been meaning to link his reviews a while ago - but forgot

They're hilarious (in my opinion), and are often on the money as a review go. But, just remember, they're all NSFW

I bought and started playing KOTOR II the other day. I think it's much better (so far) than reviews have been, but then again, most of the negative feedback revolves around the the ending of the game and its somewhat brusque manner, so we'll see how that goes... I heard something about a "completion mod", but it's for the PC and I have the XBox version. I may get the PC version when the mod is a confirmed release.

I also purchased Jedi Knights II: Jedi Academy, but I'm not too sure about that one... Anyone else played it? Can anyone give me any feedback on it?
