OOC: Well we gave him a chance to jump in...

IC:"Alphas here we go, this is for real, wings stick to your leaders, help eachother and you might not loose your head."

"Nine to Lead, the Jedi Starfighter is making a run for it."

Kirk Baumer shook his head, he was certain that his green squadron couldn't handle a Jedi for an opponent, "Let em go, our business is with the rebels."

"Roger," Nine answered.

Kirk gritted hsi teeth and threw full power to his ion engines. Ahead through the transparisteel viewport he could see the Corellain corvette open fire with its two turbolaser batteries. The bolts flashed wide of his craft but still he saw in the rear sensors some fothe rookies juke our of formation, "Tighten up formation."

The X-wings had formed up in a classic finger four formation, their lead starfighter almost within range. Kirk knew that the next few seconds were critical, head to head his rookies wouldn't stand a chance, "Break formation, Toran Boral maneuver!"

Suddenly the Tie starfighters broke into their four flights each heading a different direction. As they moved the fighters rotated to give them their smallest silhoutte, it was a text book maneuver that every member of the imperial academy new. Kirk also knew that if he knew it so did his opposition.

"Green group don't get too thick with them. That Star Destroyer is moving towards are corvette quickly and the Jedi appears to be safe. Make it look like we're going to go into a full engagement, then get out."

The four pilots stayed closely together and aproached the TIEs. They split up and took a few potshots, but no one scored any hits. The TIEs manuvered very well, clearly some of the better Imperial pilots. It was almost a relief to Evan to see that not all of the Imperial pilots were like target practice for his pilots. Evan did know his pilots were superior and better equiped. They knew what to do.

Green Group sucessfully dodged any enemy fire and then proceeded to break up. One pilot dived against each group of TIEs. The pilots were busy manuvering wildly, yet by sheer luck one got a hit. The TIE itself might need to be scrapped, but the pilot was clearly fine. The TIEs scored a few hits, but the X-wings shields held.

All of the Green manuvered well and Evan scored a hit and destroyed a TIE, he spared a glance to see the pilot eject. Then it was over. The Green quickly made a move to get out of the area with the TIEs in hot pursuit....

OOC: Where did you retreat to...I'll make an assumption considering these are rebels.

IC: "They're heading into the asteroid field..." Alpha Nine yelled her voice tense.

"Two flight hang back by Seven, Control we need a shuttle," Alpha lead called as he hauled the ship back to where the rebel fighters had begun to retreat to.

n the rear sesnor monitor the Star Destroyer unleashed a broadside of turbolaser fire against the corvette. The shots impacted against the craft's shields which held for a moment. Then as the first shots began to slip through the shield the Corvette flashed away into hyperspace.

Ahead the Tie flights began to break formationa s they entered the outer edge of the asteroid belt. Through the viewports he could see the contrails of the four X-wings manuevering through the cloud of rocks. But their less manueverable craft forced them to reduce speed to continue their navigation of the asteroids. Every moment his fighters were getting closer.

Kirk tightened down on the controls as he flashed past a planetoid sized piece of debris. Suddenly an x-wing jittered in his sights. Kirk stabbed down on the triggers for the cannons and saw his shots flash across the ship's shields as it broke off formation and dived further intot eh asteroids.

Snaping the tie onto its solar panels Kirk dived after the starfighter goosing more power into the ion drive. He juked as a rock nearly smashed into his craft. Suddenly the X-wing was in his sights again, he fired and saw sparks flash off the craft's starboard engine. Flames shot from it as the craft spun toward a field of space dust. It's shield's superheated the dust forming a curtain of flaming sparks behind it as Kirk felt his craft bounce from the turbulence in the space dust. He fired again as saw his shots slice through the port s-foil. The craft spun wildly, out of control and exploded as it entered the next layer fothe asteroid belt.

"Congrats lead, thats a confirmed kill," Nine said as her flight continued the chase.

Kirk Baumer continued in pursuit his body dripping with sweat from the dodging asteroids as the x-wings continued their flight.

"Green group turn around and move to get out of her. Our job is done."

Suddenly the X-wings turned against the TIEs. Both sides fired at each other but due to all of the asteroids, there were no kills. In the general confusion, the three X-wings slipped past the TIEs and into open space.

The TIEs came at them as fast as they could but X-wings were quicker. Just in time the three remaining pilots jumped into hyperspace. As Evan slumped down into his seat, he had time to reflect. Three's lose had been terrible, especially after their goal had been acheived. Nevertheless, a Jedi had been secured and the mission could be considered a sucess.

OOC: Sorry to pull a short one, but I didn't want to continue to engage you....Or a few of your "pilots" might have "disappeared"...

OOC: But I still got to put a silhoutte on my cockpit. :D Actually if it was a real battle your respose to the Toran Boral manuever would have cost you some fighters...oh well. Breaking up your forces is exactly the worse thing to do against that manuever.

Will someone else please join in?

OOC: I will now rebuke him in a suitably pompous manner...

IC: With a shudder Alpha lead felt his craft lift upward toward the star destroyer's hanger. After a moment in the tractor beam the space tight doors closed uner him and Major Kirk Baumer pulled off his helmet and took a deep breath fothe relatively fresh air of the hanger bay. He popped the top hatch of the Tie and clambered out to a volley of applause from his fellow pilots. Already Alpha Nine stood next to her Tie fighter in her jumpsuit, beaming at him.

An Imperial mechanic smiled as he saw him and handed him a case, inside was the tiny silhoutte of a x-wing, "Congratualations sir."

"Thank you Sargeant," Kirk answered as Lara stepped next to him and offered him her hand.

"Good shooting sir," Kirk took her hand.

"Thank you," Kirk answered and for the first time noticed that Lara's red hair was wet with sweat. He smiled slightly, "You did well, loose anyone?"

Lara grimaced, "Not in my flight, Seven is in for exposure and Eight's ship will be in for repairs."

"Not bad for replacements," Kirk observed. He sighed, it would only be a matter of time before they had casualties once again.

Merick stared at the tiny sun of the Hoth system through the bridge of the Chronicle. He had no idea why he had to come here. He had bveen ordered to meet a ship with technical difficulties here and escort it to Dantoine. The alarm sounded.

"Sir, a small Imperial Strike force has just entered the system. It is composed of two Carracks and a Dreadnought... Our target has just entered the system not far from the imperial fleet!" anounced the detections officer.

"Set a course for the Imperial fleet. The Ion Cannons are to aim for the Dreadnought. The other guns are to target the Carracks. Give cover to our ship."

OOC:Um... who is the guy that the jedi is supposed to meet? and what ship is he on?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Jedi flew just a bit to the right to the star destroyer and spotted a Strike cruiser. "Blast! Looks like these guys are going to need my help! R4 operate defense systems and turbo lasers!" The Jedi's fighter spun underneath the Strike cruiser and then hovered to the behind of him. "This guy is fast, R4 power up The C32 Mini-Hyperdrive accelerator, Ithink we are going to need it at the pace this Strike cruiser is going."

As soon as the Jedi got behind the strike cruiser he fired seven or six times followed by an eighth time to make sure he had hit it properly, the strike cruiser sped into hypermode and blew up as Stesto had blown up the accelerator. The strike cruiser blew up and stesto flew towards the Rebel command ship to meet Evan he parked on the hangar of the Rebel Command ship and got out his Y-wing. "This place looks great, except one thing.." He looked around the hangar to find a rebel service droid. "Hi, Can you help me?" the droid looked at the young Jedi. "Yes young Jedi, How can I help?" He smiled as the droid had noticed him, as very few droids dont answer to people anymore in the Galaxy. "Can you guide me to the meeting room please?" The droid nodded, "Certainly Sir, Follow me this way." The droid walked off as Stesto followed him.

The droid guided him through the corridors to a room Labeled Meeting Room He stepped in to find Evan sitting there waiting and Evan smiled at the Jedi that walked into the room.

OOC: After reading through the past 6 pages, I've come back. I want to get into the role of the Imperial Admiral eventually, it's time someone expects some of the Rebel's strategies.

Slowly Trej Ocas opened his eyes, and was forced immediately to shield them with his left eyes. Speaking to himself Trej muttered, "The Sun shines strong in this corrupted worlds."

"As if the God of the Sun ignored the sins of the Emperor." A low booming voice answered.

Trej looked at the creature that moved towards him and snorted lightly. "There are no gods in this galaxy, only the Empire."

"There were gods once, fair and just." The alien insisted, conveying a secret meaning in his words.

"And they died long ago." Trej added grimly.

"Gods cannot die."

"No?" Trej exclaimed with mock-surprise. "So where are they?"

"Blasters and Black Capes cannot kill them, as I said, they cannot die, they can only be forgotten."

"Perhaps it is better so." Trej said and started to walk away, but the creature continued to follow him. Trej sighed and turned to face the creature again.

"What do you want with me?"

"I want you to remember, that you can make other people remember that there is good in this galaxy. That the Force is still strong."

"You do not know the ways of the people, little one. I have been betrayed before, not by a single person, not by a mercenary army, but by the people of this galaxy."

"There is the Rebellion," the creature said, sounding slightly embarrassed of that suggestion.

Trej could not help but laugh.

"The Rebellion is composed by a bunch of kids with starfighters and some fearful refugees that refuse to die, there is no hope in their movement."

"And are you not a fearful refugee, that refuses to die?"

"You don't know me, go!" Trej snapped.

"I found you."

"So make sure you don't find me again." Trej shouted and walked again, this time the creature did not move but shouted from the distance. "Tell me where will you wake up tomorrow? Again in the streets, without home nor purpose? You are meant for more, Knight!"

If the creature said more it trailed away as Trej ran away from there.

A while ago Trej had contemplated when the Jedi should return from their

grave. Then he had forgotten about that, only limiting himself to live and abandon the matters of the galaxy to everyone else. Now this alien had come to him, encouraging him to take actions, to rise after a little more than a decade of lying in the shadows.

Perhaps I am meant for more.

Perhaps just perhaps, he knew where to find an answer.

Trej took a laberynthine route into a secret storehouse, so secluded that it felt as if the past twelve years hadn't happened. In its center was his answer. It's slow hum and it's smooth hull awakened a feeling in him that made him realize how far he had fallen from the ideal of the Jedi.

As soon as the sun set down in that section of Coruscant, amidst the traffic of millions of people on little bright dot sped towards the black beyond, wanting to find a place to wake up in the morning.

Captain Isak Deran stepped into the bridge of his Imperial Star Destroyer, Chimaera, took a look around the usual activity of his officers and the crewer and sat on the Chair. Immediately a young lieutenant approached him.

"Captain?"

"Yes?"

"Sir, we have a transmission from the Serpent's Bite, Captain Novor reports that Major Baumer has returned, and that he has confronted this... X-Wings...again. They have sent the sensor data as well."

"Is that all?"

"Ummm.... No, sir."

"More information about the Rebels?"

"No, sir."

"Speak, Pellaeon!"

The lieutenant suppresed a shiver.

"A holotransmission from Imperial Center, sir."

"From Coruscant?" Deran's jaw dropped noticeably. "I will receive it, in the secondary bridge, thank you Lieutenant."

Deran stepped on the holotranceiver, waiting equally for a holograph to materialize on the opposed end. As he feared Darth Elvis sinister figure appeared, next to him the figure of a human Admiral materialized.

"Tell me, Captain Deran, why should you not be replaced? Vader asked.

"Sir?"

The human admiral interceded. "In the past few weeks Rebels have been operating freely in your sector, and you have failed to react to them. While you cannot possibly call any of the engagements a victory for the Rebels, your precarious course of action, opens some serious doubts. The erradication of this Rebellion is paramount to the Empire, we cannot allow such a movement to thrive within our Empire, what do oyou know of this X-Wing?"

"We have just received the sensor data from one of the TIE Squadron that-"

"You have not recognized it's similarities to the Z-95 design, it is an Incom Design, captain."

"An Incom.... But wasn't Incom -"

Elvis finished the sentence, "nationalized by the Empire? Yes, but it's engineers have not been nationalized and have sold the design to the Rebel Alliance, all of it in your sector, Deran. You are accountable for this. And for the escape from a Jedi Starfighter in your sector. I warn you, I have little patience."

Deran wanted to answer, but hesitated and Elvis continued. "Admiral Noreto, will be asigned to your sector, Captain. He will be in full command, until I am able to join you."With that Lord Elvis's holo faded, and left only the two men.

"I will be arriving to the Denab system and take over command of the Chimaera within the next two standard days. In the mean time, you will elaborate a careful report of the skirmishes with the X-Wings, and of the role of this Jedi Starfighter in battle. Also you will have the 607th TIE Squadron under Major Baumer transfer to the Chimaera. Do not fail me, Captain. I do not act like Lord Elvis, but I do recognize the need of his methods, on occasion."

The transmission ended.

OOC: And my squadron continues to encounter rebels and pirates of course.

IC: Major Baumer sat back in the plush seats of the pilots briefing room. Captain Gordon Verlin cleared his throat, "Good morning." There were murmurs of an answering good morning from the pilots. The Captain smiled faintly, "As some of you may know pirate activity in the Marlin V star system ahs been on the rise. Recently an imperial patrol found the base of local pirate activity, our goal is its destruction."

Baumer straightened as he raised his hand, "A question."

"Go ahead Major," The captain replied simply.

"Are they pirates or rebels?" Major Baumer knew that often times rebel hijackers and strikes were mistaken for pirate activity.

"A good question," In the middle fo the room a holographic projector lit up, its lasers projecting the image of an asteroid cluster. A pair of starfighters appeared in the center of the view. One was a z-95 a classic craft and father of the imfamous X-wing. The other was the bent wing profile of a Cloakshape starfighter, "The enemy has been seen using these two craft in sufficient numbers to warrant the equivalent of two squadrons of fighters. Also the enemy has been spotted using this." The captain punched the console and the fighters faded to be replaced with a capital ship. Kirk heard some of his pilots murmur in surprise, "A Rendili Star Drive Bulk Cruiser." The Captain glanced at his pilots, "This is a rare occurance for a pirate gang to aquire such a craft, still. The enemy seems exceptionally well equipped for normal pilots. It could be an alliance operation. That is why the Victory Star Destroyer Serpent's Smile, Escort Carrier Hydra, and the Frigates Regal Eye and War of Wills will join us for this mission."

* * *

Baumer shot fromt eh Tie rack as he was lowered into space. Ahead he could see the asteroid field which supposedly housed the pirate base. Kirk clicked on hsi commlink as he cleared the Star Destroyer, "Gamma Lead clear, Gammas form up on me." As he clicked the link off Kirk shook his head, he never would understand why the controller rotated call signs throughout all the squadrons involved.

"Lead, Nine, another asteroid field, just great."

Kirk shook his head, he let nine get away with this behavior because of her flying skills, "Roger that, I'm sick of them too."

Lara's vocie came back on just seconds later, "Sir, I'm picking up contacts in the asteroid field, I've got them one Rendili Star Bulk Cruiser, and a whole load of fighters."

Suddenly on the other side fo the asteroid field a force of capital ships leapt from hyperspace. Kirk glanced down as the list of contacts scrolled by his display, A Quasar Fire class carrier, two corellian corvettes, and a large number of freighters and medium transports. Still it was an insignificant threat to Imperial force with one ISD, one VSD, one Escort Carrier, and a pair of Nebulon B Frigates. As he watched through his display he saw the Quasar Fire launch fighters. One squadron had green stripes along their fuselage and s-foils.

Kirk stiffened as he knew what was happening, the Rebels were attempting to hold them long enough to evacuate their base, already he could see freighters and transports jettisoning their cargo and running toward the asteroid hanger to pick up their fighters. Kirk gritted his teeth as he pulled back and headed back toward the destroyer, "Control requesting reinforcements." Glancing in his rear sensor monitor he could see that the green trimmed X-wings were forming into an assault wall formation, "Control?"

"This is Captain Vermil to all ships, launch all fighters, we have found a rats nest, lets see wif we can clear em out before they all run for cover."

Gamma squadron flashed through the newly launched ties and Kirk let out a breath as he rolled up past the Star Destroyers and back toward the fight, he didn't want to engage all eight rebel fighter squadrons alone. Of course eight against eighteen wasn't all that fair. But now his pilots stood a fighting chance. Slowly Kirk targeted the rearmost of the green trimmed X-wings and called otu to hsi squadron, All wings engage stick to your wing like glue and watch your six." Kirk paused as the kilometers scrolled down, "We're going in."

Merick was sitting in the meeting room of the General's commands ship. He was at last going to discover the reason of near destruction of his ship. The door opened and a man entered. He was wearing a flight suit and the blason of the ancien republic could be seen on his helmet. Merick also noticed a lightsaber hanging at his side. Could his be a Jedi?

"I am the Colonel Merick Ioor. May I ask for which purpose you are here?"

BTW I have just been promoted so could be promoted in the RPG as well. For braveness or something like that. :D

Stesto thought that the Colonel knew the reason for why he was here. "I have been chosen to aid you against the sith." He smiled and frowned, "Why, Would you rather not have me aid you? I have been sent by The Jedi Council to See to the sith and make sure that their threats are defeated." He nodded and Sat down as Colonel looked at him.

"If you can find a way to get me on that ship, I will try and find a peaceful solution to all this destruction or if not I shall put an end to the Sith Lord." He stared at the Colonel and waited for a reply. "So? Unless you have a better plan" Stesto picked up his jug of hot rebel whisky and gulped it down, even if it burnt his throat, he was still thursty. "Maybe you could get one of your men to pass me by on a ship and when they take us as prisoner, I make an escape path for you." He carried on sipping his whisky.

Merick stared astonished. This was a daring plan.

"We would first have to know on which ship they are operating, where the ship is and what is the size of their escort. And what would stop them from killing us as soon as we are captured?"

OOC: Sorry fellas for not being on the ball about posting, was out of town as I stated above and then did not have time till now to write one. And Trej, hope it’s okay I mingle our two characters together. :)

IC: Fel had seen the battle that had taken place above Corellia three standard weeks ago. Watching in awe as the tiny specs of matter lit up the sky with their turbolasers. He had not known the factions in the fight until last week when he entered the urban streets of Coronet. He had learned of how the Republic had been turned into the Empire; how the Supreme Chancellor had become a Sith Emperor. A Sith! Under the very noses of all the Jedi! He had also learned of a rebellion forming against this Empire. It was unusual to him still to call it that. But the worst of all news was that his comrades and friends had been murdered by a Sith lord. All of them scattered, hiding or dead. The Jedi had fallen far, farther than any could have dreamed of 12 years ago.

After all of that terrible information he had learned about he headed back to his make-shift ship and began to meditate. He still meditated, on what he should do, where he should travel, and most of all should he choose a faction or remain out of this war and live a life secluded away from these troubles. It was in the last day of his meditating that his late master came to him in a force-dream.

“Hello Fel, it’s been a long time my old padawan,â€

OOC: Considering that my char has left Coruscant, your quest might be a little of a mouse and cat chase... :P

With a renewed vigor Trej woke up.

The cockpit of his ancient Jedi Starfighter was far from comfortable and even the cold asphalt and duracrete from the Coruscantan underworld had been warmer, but perhaps for the first time in a dozen years, Trej Ocas felt strong, and he could easily explain the feeling. For the first time in that lapse Trej had drawn on the Force, now in the minimal space of his cockpit Trej touched that warm energy that bound him to all creatures in the galaxy, tying him to their destinies, connecting him to their passions.

On his port side the black astromech remained silent, on standby mode as the hyperspace engine hummed. Inside Trej silently wondered what this destination would be. After departing from Coruscant he had trusted the Force to guide him to a new destination.

On his left the droid tooted back to life and the hum of the hyperdrive engine quickly faded. Outside him the pyrotechnic effects of a space battle anchored him back to reality. Out of hyperspace into a Rebel battle.

That's Interesting

He glanced quickly over the nav-computer that was checking his position: Marlin V.

A light lit up on his board, as one of the displays showed an aggressive formation of red blips deviating towards him.

"Unidentified starfighter, surrender now."

Trej decided to ignore the call, and swung his fighter away from the incoming TIEs.

And directly into an astoroid field.

Dodging astoroids proved more or less difficult for him, as his athrophied skills regained some of the confidence and ability that had made him outlive the most bitter battle of the Clone Wars.

On the sensor display R4 had posted a quick review of the battle, that Rebels were losing. Unsuccessfully they were making a stand against the combined strength of an Imperial Star Destroyer and support vehicles.

"Jedi please help us." Another voice burst into his cockpit. Then the voice exploded into static and Trej did not need his droid to report him that a Corellian Corvette had just become space dust.

Trej sent his fighter deeper into the asteroid field, hoping to disencourage the Imperial TIE of pursuit, while assessing the delicate balance of the battle. Then among the rocky debris of the asteroid field he maneuvered into the midst of the Rebel defensive formation.

He would help them, but would not join them, that alone he was certain of, the rest he left to the fortunes of war.

Trej accelered into an incoming wave of TIEs letting the Force guide him as he did so.

OOC: Trej just entered the battle... 8O I was kinda hoping DJ44 would post :? Green Squadron is there.

IC: "Nine to lead, is that what I think it is coming out of the asteroid belt?"

Major Baumer glanced down at his sesnor displays, "A KDY aerospite, sithspawn, there's a jedi in the battle." The Jedi Starfighter was closing on his position, its laser's activated and in attack position, "Gammas break left forty degrees." The Squadron broke on his command and suddenly the ties flashed passed the ISD's bow. Behind them other squadrons were begining to engage the newcomer. The pilot twisted around and fired scoring a hit on one of the ties which detonated. A furball instantly formed behind them as the squadron tried to engage the jedi starfighter.

"Gamma squadron, Y-wings are forming up for an attack run, engage them before they can get off a volley."

"Roger control, Gammas break by flights, diamond formation, come right ten degrees maximum acceleration," Major Baumer ordered coldly. Ahead he cold see the bulky shapes of the squadron of y-wings forming up. Around them flights of ties and cloakshape fighters danced in a seperate duel. Major Baumer twisted the control column of the Tie into a barrel roll as he bore down on the y-wings, "Flights target the y-wings, two stay on my wing, break and engage."

Baumer twisted his craft as only a tie design could fly and settled behind one of the y-wings. His craft spat laser fire and saw it evaporate against the ship's shields. Gritting his teeth Baumer increased power to the laser cannons, "Come on." He fired another burst and saw it blast through the shields and shatter the left pylon of the y-wing, the craft suddenly tumbled its remaining engine still at full throttle and with a shower of transparistel and flash frozen water vapor the pilot ejected.

"Lead you're being bounced, two x-wings mark two."

Major Baumer corckscrewed hsi craft away as a pair of blue trimmed x-wings flashed by, their lasers blazing. He heard a scream as one of the Ties in its path vaporized. "Who was that?"

"Ten," Lara's icy voice answered.

"Did he get out," Kirk asked as he settled in on the back of one of the Y-wings.

"Negative," Through the speaker there was a loud bang and Lara's voice returned to normal, "Scratch one Y-wing."

"This is three, I've got one on my tail, I can't..." The vocie ended as a brilliant flash of fire lit up Kirk's viewport. An X-wing flashed passed his canopy, its trim colored green, and Krik fired a passing shot. The bolt flashed through the rear deflector and struck one of the engines. The x-wing rolled and shot toward the relative safety of the asteroid field.

"Four, come left twenty degrees we'll cover you."

"I can't shake him six, he's too..." The voice ended in a scream as another blue trimmed x-wing found its mark.

Kirk swore and turned hsi craft toward a green trimmed x-wing as it sped toward a tie fighter. Through the sensors Kirk Baumer recognized the craft, "So you'll try and hit nine, just try." The dot that represented Gamma nine twisted across the screen as the green x-wing decellerated to 1/3 thrust for its turn Kirk settled in behind it and fired. The volley of green blasts tracked across the shields flashing green light across the craft. Suddenly aware of the danger the X-wing broke away just as the fire began to penetrate the shields. His last shot hit squarely in the rear of the craft, taking out the s-foil actuators, locking them in attack position until it could be repaired.

"I owe you a drink lead," Nine's vocie came back panting.

Kirk smiled to himself, "I'll take you up on that if we both survive." Kirk punched up the next closest target and vectored toward it, settling his sights on the Z-95 he opened fire. The green shots flashed through the shields and vaporized the ship's left engines. With a brilliant orange and yellow flash it detonated and Kirk smiled, "Another kill."

All around him space flashed and lasers burned as the battle continued. Already he could see a pair of Medium Transports loading personnel and equipment up from the Asteroid. Furballs formed everywhere and the imperial fighters without shields were taking losses, but there were more of them then the rebels and the numbers were taking their toll.

OOC: Sorry, I was gone for a few days. Also, everyone take at the "Rapora Wars Start" thread in this same forum. Anyways, I take it we now have acess to Nebulon Bs? Well I guess that means the Rebellion is no longer new....Which means our own Neublon Bs, and we can start putting out X-wings in decent numbers....and soon Mon Calamari cruisers will join us....

IC:

"Green and Blue squadron form up. We need to delay them for a little while longer. We must delay them at all costs!"

Seventeen X-wings formed up. The Imperials still outnumbered the Rebels, but Evan knew they could be held off. Thus, the Rebellion could escape with little more than a bloody nose. His pilots would see to that.

Evan lead them at a formation of two TIE squadrons escorting a squad of TIE bombers. As they came within range, his X-wings fired a wave at proton torpedoes, scattering the formation and vaporizing the TIEs that failed to move in time. The X-wings then dived upon the TIEs, hunting them down one by one, they had no chance. Evan looked at his radar to see that a squadron of TIEs was heading his way.

"Green and Blue squadrons form up! Those TIEs will slowly pick us off one by one!"

But it was too late. The TIEs were nearly upon them. He had to order them to-

Suddenly a fighter dived into the incoming TIEs and scattered them. The fighter seemed familiar, but he had not seen one like it in a long while.....

Then he snapped back into reality. He had to move against the TIEs before they realized they outnumbered the lone fighter and destroyed it. As Evan moved against the TIEs, he didn't have to order his pilots to. They knew what to do.

OOC: Sorry if I got a few things wrong or whatnot, I'm just getting back into the swing of things.... :)

Another TIE died under the red fire from his lasers. That had been the last of the little group that had welcomed him back to the battle, but plenty of them were still around, and in the mood of ruining the Rebel evacuation.

From his cockpit he saw the few X-Wings forming up to make a last stand as the few sluggish freighters and transports kept rushing the evacuation in the relative safety of the asteroid field.

On his far starboard side Trej clearly distinguished the ever-growing white daggers closing on the battlefield. Had been the presence of a Jedi Starfighter been enough to snap the commanders out of their remote-controlled battle style?

Trej could not care less, and sped his fighter toward the regrouped squadron of TIEs that was moving fastly towards the X-Wings who had just sent a volley of torpedos away.

With a last-second dive he appeared immediately above the leaders of the advancing TIE squadron and with some precise and surgical shots he succeeded in scattering them. The TIEs then took a particular interest in him.

Arfour flashed a report on the sensor screen, at least two entire TIE squadrons were on his tail.

"That's really some magnetic personality." Trej grimly smiled as he rolled his fighter on his port side followed by a short dive. Some of the green shots missed far, but some TIE pilots followed through his maneuver. The superior speed of the TIE Fighter was finally reducing the distance between hunter and prey.

"Time for some role-changing." Trej decided as he sent his fighter on a long twist to come aroung and charge against the TIEs. Two or three shots splashed on his forward shield, before Trej was immediately before the TIEs, raining his red lasers on them.

The X-Wings had taken advantage of the Jedi's maneuver to engage the TIEs from behind. But the TIEs were sharp; though stripped from their mass-attack tactics the TIEs took advantage of their craft in the dense furball that grew around the Jedi Stafighter.

Arfour informed him that the freighters and transports had started their hyperspace run.

"It's over for me, then" Trej said to no one in particular and sped his fighter out of the furball and towards open space. Ignoring the TIEs that were still where chasing him he plotted a nav-course out of Marlin V.

"Jedi why are you leaving?" a male voice asked him on the comm.

"I have done what I had to, it's your battle now." Trej answered and accelerated to hyperspace.
