Noreto slammed an angry fist at the armrest of his chair.

As a result from the wrecking of the shipyards at Yaga Minor, the repair work had been slowed down considerably. The Chimaera's own engineers had done an adequate job in repairing most of the critical damage, mostly cosmetic damage needed to be repaired, but that did not matter much to Noreto, instead his anger and frustration derived from the negative of High Command to provide him with replacement for the losses, at this time. Their fighter force was at about half-strength, and his ammonition of torpedoes and missiles was critically low. Noreto had already dispatched Obliterator and Magnificent to Ord Radama and Ord Biniir, respectively to insist on the issue. While both were in a pretty bad shape, Noreto hoped that the sight of two very damaged Star Destroyers would boost him up on the priority list.

Noreto at least trusted that the Rebels would not pose a threat to him in the near future, considering the losses both at Muunilist and at Gravlex Med, but in any case, he and the Governor had devised a plan in case the Rebels attacked Yaga Minor again.

Noreto frowned as a crew of engineers asked him to move while they repaired one of the communication consoles. Then he left for his command room, and tried to find some peace.

OCC: Sorry to come in so late im new to the site just not new to the genre. :D

Ulic Horn brought his ship out of lightspeed and was very happy to see a Mon Cal crusier. "Thank the force...I can't believe I said that." He signaled for his LE Droid, Levon, to hail the ship. "Mon Calamari Crusier this is the Nova Dream, I'm pretty beat up here, Sheilds are out I'm sure I'm missing some pieces here and life supports down to 40%. A Little help would be greatly appreciated." He waited for a reply...

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Before Merick had time to deal with the Smuggler his Comlink beeped.

"Ioor"

"This is Flight Control onboard of the Liberty. We have just been hailled by a YT-2000 demanding assistance. But Our hangar bays are full of fighters recovring after the latest battle. Do you have any place left?"

"Yes Flight Control. Tell him to dock in Hangar Beta6."

What was this? Was this the day everybody decided to join the Rebellion? Anyway help was always welcome.

"Evan could you just look after this I have to go and look after another Smuggler. Evan nodded. Merick left the hangar and arrived into the beta 6 hangar one just as the ship was docking. The YT-2000 looked like it had been on the wrong side of a turbolaser. Large holes covered its surface. The ramp started to lower itself and suddenly... stopped. A large amount of swaring came as the sound a several kicks sounded from inside the ship. And the exit of the ship finally opened.

The ramp hit down a little harder than normal and a Corellian man walked down. He was wearing typica smuggler garb, pants, light shirt and a vest but he had a red Corellian Bloodstripe on both of the pant legs. He was just about 2 meters and had red hair and was lightly bearded.

"Thanks for the assist." He said sitcking out his hand...

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Merick shook the hand.

"Could I know what happened to you. Your ship seems just as battered as mine. And please inform me of any cargo you posses."

"Ulic Horn, I was making a...hasty retreat from a...bad business deal and had to make a quick microjump which put me right into the middle of a battle. Needless to say I got out but not after being pursed for a while by a squad of TIEs. I don't have a lot on me right now, the deal I was supposed to make went south. All I've got right now is some contraband and that's pretty much it."he flashed a typical Corellian grin :) ...

Kirk Baumer sighed as he glanced up at the dimly glowing cylinder which was the bacta tank. Lara Jules hung there, her body limp. The Medical droids watched her status across several screens. Behind him Kirk heard his escort shift uncomfortably. Kirk turned to the nearest Emdee, "How bad is she?"

The droid shifted slowly to glance at Kirk, "Her wounds are failing to heal, the diluted bacta our forces have isn't sufficient. We've tried adding rylca to to help, but even that has healed."

Lara was stable at least, Kirk thought, bacta, damn. There was only one major source of bacta in the galaxy, and it was under imperial control. With a sigh he turned toward the trooper, I'll do this once, for Lara, "Call the General, I want to talk."

OOC: Although I'm pretty sure you wanted Mad, I'm gonna take his place if it's ok with you

Evan looked over the reports. He yawned, it was the boring, usual stuff. Just his pilots latest simulator scores and results of routine raiding missions. It was all positive reports, but that was of little consequence. Just more boring raids.

I guess it's better than going on another risky mission so soon...

Suddenly, his comlink beeped.

"Sir, Commander Baumer has requested your presence..."

This should be intresting...

Arriving at the medical facilities, Evan saw Commander Baumer looking at one of the bacta tanks. He appeared to be on the verge of despair.

"You wanted to talk to me about something?"

It had been two weeks since leaving Devaron, and Fel and Trej had managed to speak less than 10 words to each other. But that seemed all too familiar to Fel now, his older Jedi companion seemed to hate conversation and Fel did not much care for the other man’s conversation either. It was a love, hate companionship they possessed. On the outside it seemed they were ill to each other and disliked each other with a passion. On the inside they wanted each other around them because they knew they were the only ones of their kind left; they knew they were an endangered species…

During the two weeks of their leaving Devaron, Fel and Trej had traveled to the desert planet of Genosis, the beginning battle ground of the Clone Wars. It was still battle-scarred, with blackened areas visible even from orbit. Trej had insisted on visiting this spot after leaving Devaron. Fel thought he just was wasting time avoiding what he knew must happen, they must destroy the Paradeium.

On their last day upon Genosis during lunch Fel brought up enough courage to challenge Trej about the Paradeium. “Trej,â€

Ulic was checking the remaining cargo on board his ship, if maybe he could sell some of it he'd have enough to scap her back together. He checked what it was, spices, glitterstim, shadowpaw and the likes. He opened another sealed case labeled LEGAL SPICES. "Yeah, right," he mused to himself. It was a little harder to open but now he knew why. Inside of the crate was lined with medical supplies, a little bacta, pressure bandages and in the center was a series of E-11 Blastech rifles and a few hold outs. "I...you have got to be kidding me." Now he wasn't sure what to do...

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Ulic ran down the ramp and found a deck officer.

"Hey deck officer, whose in charge here?"

"I-." Ulic cut him off. "I dont care just get him down her and find me later." he finished as he ran back to the ship.

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Kirk sighed, he was breaking his mission rules, but he couldn't have Lara's death on his conscience, "You're short bacta...and my friend is dieing because of it." Kirk glanced up at Evan, "I can get you the bacta you need."

Evan arched an eyebrow, "How?"

"The Ashern were planning to redirect one of the bacta convoys, Imperial Intellignece found out. They seized the freighters and the crews and have them at a Platform pending investigation, its under minimal guard." Kirk shook his head, "I can give you the hyperspace coordinates...all I ask is that you save my friend's life."

OOC: Cool post, AA.

Trej allowed himself a smile when he saw Fel's astonished face. "What took you so long?" The older Jedi asked.

"You... How?" Fel wanted to asked but said nothing in the end. A warm breeze flowed.

"Listen, Fel." Trej started while looking at an indefinite spot far on the horizon. "I will not stop you, and I will not try refute what you said to me, but as I said in the beginning of our little journey, the scars of the Clone Wars and the scars of Elvis's betrayal run deeper in me, than they do in you. You know what happened, but you did not witness it first-hand, you cannot possibly understand what that day on Coruscant was."

The sun slowly vanished beyond the horizon and the rings of Geonosis became clearly visible. A glittery archway was carved in the starry sky. Fel wanted to move forward to his starfighter, but Trej'd raised palm halted him.

"Before you go, join me to see the arena." Trej suggested and pointed in a vaguely northward direction. "I promise I will not waste your time."

They walked a few minutes in their usual silence. Not even the Geonosians dared bother them. The few that remained on this forsaken world knew they should not disturb Jedi. As they neared the arena, Trej ignited the lightsaber, so it's azure light illuminated the decaying building. A few swift shadows flew away into their nests.

"So many of our kind died here, murdered by machines." Trej stated. "Those same machines are now nothing but garbage and this arena is nothing but a decaying bug-nest."

"I better go." Fel murmured quietly. Obviously confused by Trej's actions and words, prudently wondering about the elder Jedi's mental sanity.

"You will fail, young one. It takes two people to destroy the Paradeium, and you cannot operate it, your affinity to the living Force is not strong enough for you to employ the machine."

"I must try."

"You should do. Remember that both our fates are bound to that machine, just as the Jedi who died here were bound to the machines that killed them."

A masked "Whatever" came from Fel's lips.

"I will leave this world soon, I trust the Force will guide both of us to a future meeting." Trej spoke softly and shut down his lightsaber.

Embraced by darkness, Fel immediately ignited his own saber but did not see Trej. Fel spoke a few last words, with no one to hear them and walked back to his ship. The silence that surrounded him, was more oppressive than before, now being a silence derived from loneliness.

Carried by a warm breeze, Fel believed to have heard Trej once more.

And may the Force be with you, young one.

***

Hidden behind a few rocks, Trej watched his companion depart. The companionship of the younger Jedi had been a welcome event in Trej's life. For years Trej had only looked forward to the death that would redeem him, now he fervently hoped for the day to meet young Fel again.

"Arfour, wake up." Trej spoke into his comlink. "Get the fighter prepped, we are leaving."

Part of him wanted to follow Fel and talk honestly with him about the Paradeium, but he could not do that. Yet. He had been willing to tell him in the arena, but lacked the strength to do so.

Slowly a tear ran down the older Jedi's face, as he looked forward to meet his Padawan once again.

Out of the abyss, came Green squadron. With them was two corvettes, a host of transports, Blue squadron and the Chronicle. Suspicious it might be a trap, the Rebels were prepared to withdraw at the slightest indication of trouble, but as they came out of hyperspace, everything was fine. A convoy, two TIE squadrons and two carack light cruisers.

It still could be a trap, but it was worth investigating. The TIEs moved to attack, but were no match. The X-wings and corvettes repulsed them and, when they were pursued, immediatly surrender. The carack light cruisers fled. The station had a few laser canons, and attempted to resist but a few proton torpedoes convinced it to surrender. Everything went smoothly and the bacta was secured.

Soon the Rebel fleet was leaving to the safety of hyperspace. Nothing had gone wrong. It had all been done as Baumer said it would. Perhaps he was trust worthy after all...

He hated Trej had not come along with him; he hated even more though that he was once again alone. Part of him even wanted to return to Trej, but he knew even if he could not stop it the Paradeium he must try for his daughter’s sake and for the galaxy. If Trej was not capable of trying he must! As his repulsorlifts hummed and began to carry him up he murmured may the Force be with you Trej, wherever it is you are headed…

Ulic was working on his ship patching up the engine and hull and wondering where the captian was or who ever was in charge when he heard shouting outside. "Ay, Levon take over here." Ulic said as he walked down the ramp to the landing bay, he heard people talking and decided to investigate. He walked over with his welding goggles still on...

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

Trej yawned as his little astromech informed his that they had arrived at the Firver system. Groggy Trej looked at the stars and at the world below. The usual mists covered most of the rocky surface of the world, and its twin moon looked as pale as usual. But somehow everything felt different.

Somehow the black space felt darker.

Bad feelings and ideas formed in his mind with the swiftness and the fury of rainstorm. Still the Jedi refused to yield to the fear, calm and moderate he pointed the tip of his fighter at the world and started his descent. He started to project his presence through the Force, he knew he was expected.

An ancient stone temple was the setting for the meeting. In the center of the formation of rocky pillars the dark figure of Darth Elvis stood in expectation.

Calmly the Jedi entered the circle, without fear.

"It has been a long time," Trej said in a tone that suggested friendship more than bitter enmity.

"Twelve years," Elvis answered, his usual grave voice resounding slightly weaker.

"Why have you come?" Trej asked moving closer to the centre.

"To finish a task placed upon me." The voice grew stronger with hints of fear and anger.

"You failed twelve years ago in that same task, will you fail again?"

Elvis failed to respond with words, instead his furious red lightsaber swept forward.... Only to be stopped by the azure blade of the Jedi.

The fierce battle raged within the ancient temple, Elvis powered by his personal fear of the Jedi and his anger at him, continued launched himself at the Jedi, that fended the attacks with an uncommon ease and calm.

"You cannot defeat me, Darth. You could not at the Temple's Gate, you will not defeat me here."

"Yet you lost at the Temple's Gate, old friend." Elvis spoke in a mocking voice full of anger and spite. Behind the dark lord stormtroopers started to come out of their positions and in matter of heartbeat they had surrounded the Jedi.

"So you have failed again to kill me, will you bestow the honor on one of your soldiers?" Trej asked in a much angrier tone that he expected to come out.

"No, the Emperor will have the honor." Elvis answered. "Take him away, commander."

As he was lead away, he looked back at the dark figure that had been once a good friend, a good man. "It has been found." Trej said quietly. Darth looked curiously in his direction and that was all he saw, when a blue dart caught him on his back.

Waking up in a Star Destroyer's cell, stripped of all clothing left alone with the metallic limits of his cell, that gleamed back a distorted reflection of himself, Trej opened himself totally to the Force. In such a strong way as only Yoda and Elvis could. Through the Force he searched the stars, looking for a single man. Without forming any words, he knew that his Learner wherever he was would understand what has happened.

Kirk smiled broadly as the Emdees escorted Lara into the reception area. She smiled slightly as Kirk rose to greet her as she toweled the last bits of bacta from her hair, "Good to see you up and moving..."

Lara didn't let him finish the sentence but kissed him full on before he could say a word. She grinned at the look of complete shock that rolled of Kirk's face, "They told me what you did, thank you." Kirk felt an icy fist close over his stomach, guilt on betraying imperial security shooting through his veins. Lara saw his expression and Kirk watched her expression harden, "Wait, listen to me before you beat yourself up."

Kirk sighed, "What happened?"

Lara swallowed, "I was on a prisoner transport, being debriefed, alongside a medical frigate, apparently some of the POWs had come down with something. Anyway, we were ambushed by an imperial patrol, a Dreadnaught stumbled upon us, gliding through an asteroid field."

"And the rebels tried to fight them off, what weaponry does a medical frigate have?"

Lara shook her head, "They-we didn't try to fight them off. They opened up on us, the captain tried to surrender and then..." Kirk saw tears starting to stream down her face, "The Imperial captain broadcast on all channels, he said that there would be no surrender, no mercy to cowards and he opened up on us. The frigate broke up almost immediately under the volley, we could all hear the comm chatter as it died, the cries for mercy and surrender, and no response from the dreadnaught. A volley of fire hit the prisoner transport, the next thing I knew I was floating in an escape pod, with half my back roasted and screaming from the pain."

Lara looked up at Kirk, "Was that what we were serving Kirk? Was it?"

Kirk looked down at his hands, he'd heard stories, most officers had, but he'd never given them any real credence, until now. His conciense began to run in circles desperately trying to understand what was happening. Finally a thought ricocheted through his brain, who am I?

The massive pillars of the Grand Corridor welcomed him to Coruscant. Trej looked at them and smiled. Here he was at the very beginning of his journey, almost nearing its end. The Imperial Palace was near.

The "light" escort that guarded him, should probably had not been enough to halt him if Trej had wanted to escape. But he did not, he looked forward to confront both Palpatine and Elvis.

Darth Elvis lead him and his guards through laberynthine paths within the Palace, meant to confuse the Jedi and foil whatever attempt of escape there was.

Then the troopers stopped and Elvis and Trej were left standing before a massive metal door. Behind it, the essence of the Dark Side, waited in expectation.

"The Emperor awaits."

The door opened, and all Trej could hear was the twisted laughter of the Emperor.

OOC: I'll finish it later.
