The game engine randomly determines a planet and star's position in the z-plain. Ah well thats fine no problems, I think one of the maps Im currently doing I may do using this new way. Basically by making X map of a Sector for example I could use one star to house everything within the sector, but then every seperate system within that sector would have its own star. Yes it will take a little longer to create each map but should make for good fun, I think with a more diverse and random set of planets etc. I like the idea of having one fleet per system guarding all its planets makes me feel like a proper imperial moff etc. Obviously some systems only have say one or two planets where others may have 6 or 7. Thoughts ?

Cool, cheers. I know a lot of the bigger/more important planets have specific planets designed for them it just sometimes becomes hard to remember them all lol. One I was racking my brains out for was trying to remember Kessel ? I'm sure there is a specific one which looks bang on, but could I hell remember it. One question I was going to ask, when it comes to planets which are barely described other than maybe military base or defensive planets etc would that all be covered by the bastion moon ? I like that you liked the stars within a map, I thought it was a cool idea for some small systems with more than one important planet or location, in the hutt space map there are Barab and Da Soocha systems within. In future maps especially larger maps there maybe a few of these as they play out well, I was also thinking if I ever do another large scale map it might be a good idea for different sectors/systems etc. One thing I did notice by doing it though was the height position of the stars were different, with the main star being lower than the other two, not exactly sure why?

Np ty for the feedback, I will change them over. Sometimes I forget which planet types are designed specific etc and its a case of which looks right first. Nova do you fancy a quick look over Chiss Acedancy and give it some feedback also, wasn't sure what yuo had in mind for Csilla ?

Ok its finally here ... Hutt Space. All finished, it is a big map approx 100 planets. I have made it with upto 7 players with random starting positions, Can you eliminate the other Hutt tribes to become head of the Hutt clans and ruler of Hutt Space? http://www.gamefront.com/files/21985060/Hutt+Space.galaxy dwonload link. Let me know if there is any problems with any of the maps so far, all the maps have been made in the new Galaxy Forge and can be loaded in it no problem.

They have all been made using the new Galaxy Forge so are fully usable in there. I have two other maps underway Hutt Space and Chiss Acedancy but progress is slow atm as Im real busy with R/L Stuff will try get some more time next week.

Ok one thing that has been bugging me a little recently is the fact I am stuck with just one Titan at a time or am I missing something obvious ? I believe in larger games it would be nice to have say maybe upto 5 titan class ships. Would this be a possibility by lowering the crew requirements by 80% or is it hard coded to only allow one supercap/titan at a time ? Surely the empire had more than one SSD flying around at any one time ? I know this isn't a main priority right now, but just my opinion on the matter. Are there any plans for this in the fututre or is this it regarding this matter ?

I think it would be a good idea on larger maps to let players get a good foot hold on larger maps where contact with the enemy maybe takes a little longer. Smaller maps Im always a little scepticle of the idea as basically once you both bump into each other and one gets wiped out the winning team from that battle usually rolls the map quickly afterwards. But that is just my opinion.

Rebellion Orbital Structure and Vessel Brainstorm

Something I would really love to see in the game are Tie Defenders, does Rebellion allow for more fighter types ? Would there anychance of adding them in at some point? I have always wanted them in as the Empires most advanced fighter especially as the war against the Rebel aqlliance wound down and the fight against the New Republic kicked off. -

Cheers Lavo great well I have downloaded it all so will have it up and running soon. Will give the new galaxy forge a whirl tomorrow see whats what. PS if anyone wants a match anytime on rebellion through steam you can add me: Sn0w.ps though I think most of you's are state side where as Im in the UK.

Hey, I've been away for a while now and just returned to playing sins again. I noticed the svn is currently down so am I right in thinking I have to re install using the new fragmented installation as shown in the first page ? Also I just bought rebellion and wanted to ask does this mod work on rebellion yet ? Will the downloads in the first page allow me to do that ? And one more quick question (sorry) does the old galaxy forge/maps work in rebellion ?

I find the AI on well built up planets sometimes have over 20 broadcast centres. A similar thing happened to me, until I noticed what they had been upto.

Sounds a very good idea, tbh whenever I play I never use all races at once, at the very most 4. If Im honest I have seen much lower lag in recent games (some extra ram probably helps), and now it becomes stable when shutting the game down and not minidumping, but fully understand and agree with the changes. Based on what your doing I might go and try make some different time scaled versions of maps, as they would probably fit better now. Good work, keep it up

No problem, the change to their turrets would probably be enough I undrstand what you mean, yes they need to be a challange but not game crippling.

I hate to bring this up again, but as the title says Piartes are a bit overpowered. Basically, the route of my main gripe with them is if you start a small map (this has happened a few times recently) colonize say3/4 planets go to move on down a one way phase lane highway (new technical term) and bump into the pirate base your basically screwed for a long long time. You either spend all your credits paying them off, or amassing enough ships to go there only to just hang on by the skin of your teeth beofre they launch a raid against you, theres one game I had going I soent an hour going back and forth with them before giving up. The main problem seems to lie with the fact IF you destroy all their fleet you are always left with umpteendefense platforms etc so would it be possible either slightly lower pirate ship shields or possibly the standard of their turrets ? If either of these ideas seem decent let me know and I could start editing them ? If you need any help. Thanks.

For using Rebed in Windows 7 your best bet is to set up a virtual machine load XP do all your editing then simply copy all the files over to your Win 7 directory. Hope that helps.

On larger games I find fleets invaluable. When I use them I prefer the colonizers to join the fleet if anthing because at least then the are protected a bit by the rest of the fleet instead of being left isolated.

Thanks mate, thats all very helpful. Tbh the reason i want to make other versions are so that each era stars with each applicable race in a strong starting position with lots of useful planets.
