as in the clone wars mod was previously seperate from warlords but is now integrated in to the current verion. thats what the CIS/Republic factions are all about.

huh, i never had that problem. I played a few imp v cis games and got bored because they didnt put up any fight. i use the expert cpu setting so maybe to coding is different. i always have probelms with them building nav's, but that just means i can't officially win. ill try different difficulty settings

convenient thing about cis is no matter what they build, they dont stand a chance against the empire anyway

well if you dont want all the ships of the star wars universe you likely shouldnt download a mod that claims the largest star wars ship collection of any mod for any game. also, the limit is 2,000,000, and only super caps cost anything near half that. and if you playing as imps to get the executer, there is no fleet a reb cpu player will build that can beat it. reinforcements is not the game type for epic battles. do a facilities game with 30sec injections and a huge lump sum, youll get very large battles and more of them. if your looking for a specific scenario, your gonna have to play with a friend in a lan game, or learn to mod it yourself -

"C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod PLANETPACK.BIG,SWSOUND.BIG,SWMUSIC.BIG,GENHODS.BIG,SHIPHODS.BIG,CORE.BIG,OLDSHIPS.BIG -luatrace -hardwarecursor that should work, copy and paste. if c&p doesnt work, type it in manually, exactly as it appears, the .BIG files need to be in that order. kind of a pain, but its worth it Edit: if you have never played a warlords mod before, and want everyhing to work the same, remove the OLDSHIPS.BIG from the command line. this file adds in more ships from previous versions that have not been completely converted to 0.6. the game still works and is playable, but the older ships are much more vulnerable than the ones that have been converted.

different drives read certain things better or worse than others. the discs are mangled, without question, but drives from diffrent companies will be able to read through certain imperfections. in this case, theres a dent in the top of the disc, which is damge that no drive could read, as the data portion itself is destroyed

first off, if you want all the ships (ships, not space stations) seen in all the pics and videos, you also need the OLDSHIPS.big file, in addition to all the other v0.6 files. if you have your commandline correct and all the .big files your supposed to, you should have 2 coruscant maps, one far orbit, and one close orbit. the order is which you put the file names in the command line does matter. as far as the deathstar goes, i think its only part of a special scenario right now. unfortunately, the scenario doesnt seem to work for everyone. Its called Endor. feel free to try it, but dont hold your breath, ive been playing this mod since v0.26 and ive never seen it.

they were just a regular subsyste before, but whenever anything hit the ship, the shields subsystem would take damage instead of the ship itself or other systems, until the shields sub system was gone, then other parts would start to take damage. there was no visual for them though. each individual weapon used to be its own sub system as well, which was very nice, because you could use ships with AOE weapons, sich as missiles, to hit them and take them out. for example, playing against rebs, they used fighters/bombers a lot. you'd be pounding away on an mc-80 with your ISD, and while everyone was taking damage to the shields, your weapons remained functional until your shields went down. shields would go down, bombers would hammer the port side of the isd, and then all the weaps are out over there, so you had to re-orient or retreat. the new .6 ships dont have shields OR weapon sub systems, which is ok, a little annoying, but playable. the pobelms is that most of the ships from previous versions arent converted over yet, hence the oldships.big file. for some reason, the time was taken to remove the shields from these old ships, but not to remove the weapons as destroyable. so the effect is that an ISD III, more powerful than an ISD I by a lot, is useless because all it weapons are destroyable. 1 b-wing squad renders it an expensive pile of floating crap, because all the systems get taken out with 1 or 2 missile salvos. the effect is that, even is you have the oldships.big, you would be dumb to use the ships from it anyway, because any .6 converted ships are far superior. Try is, 3 ISD III's vs 1 VSD I. used to be a no brainer, but now, if you switch your targets to hit each ISD with a missile salvo, you can take all day to kill them, because they cant do anything. all the systems are fried immediately. The whole mods is about as being as close to official star wars as possible. shields are a required part of that, so if someone would be willing to make up a tutorial on how, or to poit me towards one, i would love to go through every ship and add them back in for people that want them. I understand the lag issues, but not having them destroys the tactics used not only in previous versions of the mod, but official star wars sources, such as the books. kind fo the same deal as in EaW, missiles and (ugh) mass drivers ignoring shields. thats crap. and its why i hate EaW, and FoC specifically (along with the absolutely retarded and un-canon Zann faction) -
I also need ideas for reb banners and wallpapers. I hate rebs cuz they're lame, but some people are silly and might want them. we're lookin for the same idea as the SSD banners, something iconic (SWG player, and i hate that word, but it fits here i guess) as a focal point, with other easily recognizeable craft around it. Like MC-80c with Maria's. Stuff like the bothan assault cruisers, while cool, arent recognizeable by most as a symbol of the rebels/new (lame) republic. still motion is easiest, like recreations of movies shots or book covers, but i could do some combat stuff, like x-wings vs tie fighters or something and see if i can get anything good. so i need suggestions for ships to use, formations, that sort of thing. if anyoe has any shots they think would be good, send them to me. metalneverdies421@yahoo.com, put Warlords in the subject or ill delete it without opening it. resolution 1280x960 min, preferably with all AA and AS options on (you have to do this with your video card driver software, since HW2 doesnt have those options incorporated). I think the issue is that you're approaching this mod in terms of what your experience in the HW2 classic was, and thats just not what this is about. This is all about canon depictions of canon ships, is canon roles. all about accuracy to the star wars universe. The Bacta War in the X-Wing series likely would have gone a lot differently if the Drysso, Commander of the Lusankya, had realized he was outclassed in the starfighter department, sold off some torpedo launchers to build a fighter factory and pumped out 5 squads of TIE Defenders. It's just a tad ridiculous. The best way to look at this mod is as a direct port of the HW2 game engine to an existing star wars game, not a mod of HW2. HW2 lends nothing to this project but the engine, and only because it was the best available at the time the project started. And honestly, id be pissed if EJ decided to start modding EAW or some crap like that instead, because, to date, HW2 is the best game for this sort of project, regardless of what RTS's may be newer. This is a mod for Star Wars fans, not HW2 fans. You're expected to adapt your strategies to those employed in the movies and books to achieve victory. HW2 tactics dont work, because HW2 is balanced, and the Star Wars universe is not. When the Executer, the first Super Star Destroyer, was completed, there was nothing, not one single ship, in existence in the rest of the known galaxy that could counter it. So tactics were devised to take it out, such as abushes, hit and fade attacks designed to wear it down over time, and massed bomber attacks using nothing but starfighters, since the SSD would eat Mon Cal Starcruisers up all day, but was reduced to relying on its own starfighters for small ship defense. It wasnt until around 30 years after the Super Star Destroyer's introduction that the New Republic came up with a ship to counter it 1v1, and by that time, there were bigger, meaner things out there anyway. In this mod, you have to adapt to the side you play. I am almost exclusively and imperial player. I never get beat by the comp as Imp, because i know each ship very well, i know what they are and arent good for, what i can use for high damage and what i can use to protect them. I struggle a lot when i venture in to the Allince build tree. I dont know those ships very well, i dont knoe the strengths and weaknesses of each, and the alliance in not suited to capital ship slugging matches, like the empire is. If you read star wars, and your favorite part of the books are the space battles, this mod is for you. If you saw the movies and thought they were cool, but didnt go beyond that, your likely going to be lost in this mod until you play it for a while

workin on a banner for warlords. I got a ton of shots of the SSD surrounded by ISD's, kind of like the shot in ESB. text is gettin a little annoying, im gonna try and get a translucent red text on it. I figured id email it to someone or post it somewhere when im done if you guys wanna use it. noticed the homepage doesnt have a title image....hint hint

I was wondering if you, EJ and co, would have an issue with me using images of your ships in-game for other stuff, such as posters, webpages, stuff like that. Mostly just for accurate representations of the SW ships, the SSD and Mon Remonda in particular, since the depiction of the MC-80c in warlords is the best ive seen anywhere, and the SSD is second only to the movie shots. I would give you credit, obviously, and i would let you know where i post them if i do

having empire as a cpu player seems to be crashing everyone, from what ive heard. its the only problem with the mod i have now. not sure what the deal is, but its not your fault, its very common

im willing to bet its because the cpu actually needs more money to make bigger ships. the ships in warlords are much more expensive than base hw2. if you dont raise the ru multiplier, and give injections, you'll be scrounging for cash if you dont restrict the class to below destroyers. the shipyards themselves are each over 100k. base ru multiplier just doesnt cut it with warlords. since i think the idea of actually producing ships in the middle of a battle is at best retarded, i usually just raise everything all the way so money isnt an issue: ru multiplier 50, 100k injections at 1 min, 2mil lump sum at 2min. that way it eliminates another incredibly unrealistic aspect of the game, since i dont really have to waste energy gathering money. honestly, the best battles ive ever had are reinforcement games with 10sec 100k injection and a build timer of 1 min. good stuff. but if the cpu is starving for cash, its likely just going to build miners. and if the asteroids it finds are only worth 5k each, its going to build tons of miners to gather all the asteroids on the map. thats my guess, since this doesnt sound like anything having to do with a missing file or improper installation

stopped playing foreign mods for eaw for exactly that reason, they're foreign. they all offer english versions, but no support, at all, in english. and im not learning yet another language just to play a game. but thanks for the ad

everything else as in all other maps without the imps in it. i can play as imperials. but i can not play any map with an imperial cpu player, or i get a crash at universe. thats the isue. i know endor is broken Edit: I can play reinforcement games with imp cpu's. its the facilities games that crash at universe

cant seem to make a game with a cpu imperial player. i know this has been an issue for others. i have the 1.1 patch, new profile, latest version of warlords, no other mods or versions, yadda yadda. everything else (except endor map) works fine. didnt see any replies/fixes/ideas on the other posts about this, EJ, or anyone else know whats doin here?

so i was playing warlords, as i so often do, and encountered some funkiness. i went to build and mc-80 maria, and what popped out was a liberty, called liberty, looked like a liberty. mildly peeved at having obviously clicked the wrong one, i scuttled it and built a maria, making sure i clicked on the maria button. imagine my surprise when another liberty popped out. scuttled that, clicked on liberty intentionally, and was rewarded with the ship i was looking for, a maria. funky. later, after clicking on the viscount build option, a viscount popped out, looking nothing like what a viscount should, but called viscount anyway. well whatever. so i hyped it over to the comp payer and proceeded to pwn with it. i checked back a minute later, and my "viscount" had magically changed it name to strident. wtf? looked the same, same ship; not same ship as in i clicked on the same build option for another, sam ship as in, it was the only one in the game, at any point. why would it change its name, and why is my maria button spitting out liberties? and is what i built supposed to be a viscount or a strident? it was a lage blocky thing, just about the most uninspired design ive ever seen. a doorstop, sans the creativity edit: im gonna go ahead and assume that what popped out was yet another hideous CEC ship, the strident, because it looked nothing at all like a viscount, pictured here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Viscount-class_Star_Defender
