  1. just started running warlords on xp x64. everything is smooth, runs great. but textures on asteroids and explosion effects are striped. here are screens: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii215/korn421/ss00015.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii215/korn421/ss00013.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii215/korn421/ss00019.jpg i dont know if it has anything to do with a 64bit OS, but as far as ive heard, im the only one thats active on the forums using one, and thats all ive changed since my last warlords install. this is .6. AA and AF are enabled through my control panel in these screens, but disabling them had no effect, so thats no the issue.
  2. lol, woot, i had a good idea apparently.....ive contributed
  3. probably means your shortcut is wrong. it has to be EXACTLY what is posted. miss a space, make the order wrong, forget a -, even get the capitalization wrong, and it wont work. its laid out very specifically in my post here: http://warlords.swrebellion.com/smf/index.php/topic,156.0.html
  4. thats very vague. is your keyboard plugged in? did you download direct x? install windows? need more info man, what happens when you try to play?
  5. what is this same thing its doing?
  6. aa and af cant be enabled through hw2, they have to be enabled through your nvidia control panel. if you have done that, or changed any of the default settings in the control panel, check them and make sure they are set to application-controlled. if you use sli, i also dont know if hw2 will have issues with it, since sli didnt exist when the game came out, so make that application controlled as well. if none of that is it, then try and be a little more decriptive. what exactly are you calling lag? is it just constantly low frame rates? or is it running smoothly for a bit, then hanging? also, what version of xp is it?
  7. stability should be good, i hear the x2's arent too hot a chip, and amd in general is usually good about heat management
  8. Just because im curious and would like a basis for comparison, what are you system specs, what settings do you run warlords on, and do you have any performance issues? My system Athlon 64 3700 oc'd to 2.58ghz 1gb ddr @ 400mhz Hitachi SATA 1.5 hdd PNY 7800gs 256mb core oc'd to 454mhz, mem oc'd to 1503mhz Windows XP Pro x64 SP2 i have no hiccups of any kind at 1280x960, all settings maxed, including AA from my nvidia control panel, since HW2 doesnt technically support it.
  9. are you using a non-english hw2 version? i think the mod defaults to look for an english directory, and your log file returns an error of not finidng an english directory, and then some fiel parts that may be in it. EJ might know how and where to redirect it. in the meantime, if you arent using an english version, id say try and install it in english if possible, and see if that helps. even if you dont want to play in english, we can at least rule it out as a problem.
  10. i ntoiced you didnt list updating hw2 as part of the process you had tried. figured id just make sure you didnt forget
  11. sounds great to me. personally, for a first release at least, i think a seperate .big is the way to go, so you can get some feedback, and we dont have to overhaul our installations to test it out. a new shortcut is easier than rolling back the mod version.
  12. http://warlords.swrebellion.com/smf/index.php/topic,156.0.html nice to see you again. if your shortcut looks like i already laid out for you a while ago the shortcut is not the problem, assuming that you installed hw2 in the default location.
  13. oh thank you, i thought i was the only one EJ....
  14. you seem to be catching on to english fairly well. most people that arent born using it have big problems learning it because it doesnt make as much sense as other european languages, and there's always exceptions to every rule.
  15. not being a real technical hardware guru, i was just goin on the macs that i have used, which arent many. as far as specs went, the hardware in them was less capable than the pcs in the same room. however, running mac os, and mac software, they often completed whatever task was given to them before the pc's. again, i dont know a truckload about hardware or software, just a little more than the average bear. as far as the software went, especially mac os, it was apparent that there was much less background bullshit running on macs. also, as you stated, i would assume that the extra testing macs go through before production carries over in to the software area, further streamlining their operation. i dont argue that in every sense a mac is a better product. it is not, unfortunately, the more useful of the two as far as the average computer user goes. gaming is woefully pc dominated, and most games just arent engineered for macs, even if they are released for them.
  16. our resident star wars good samaritan strikes again
  17. i dont know much about the mac os's, but i do know that as a rule mac hardware is not as good as pc hardware, the software however, is far superior and efficient. homeworld 2 was designed primarily for pc, and so it was made to make use of the best hardware available at the time. i remember installing warlords on the comp i had when hw2 came out, and i had to turn stuff way down. mac's perform beautifully with mac software, but not so much with infficient pc software. if i were you, id recommend just spending a few hundred on a decent gaming pc if you play games much, and use the macs for everything else.
  18. go ahead and get a yahoo.com email account, unlimited space, very good spam protection. as a rule, you should only use microsoft products when absolutely unavoidable, and hotmail is microsoft.
  19. the files that are in that section are .big files. all the 0.45 installer did was put the .45 .big files in your directory, then make a shortcut that would launch the hw2.exe and instruct it to load the 0.45 .big files with it. 0.60 is the same, just without an installer. in windows, you need to actually add tags for the .big files in the command line for the shortcut. i dont use macs, because nothing i want to use runs on macs, and so i dont know how you would go about doing that on a mac. im sure a mac os tech forum somewhere would be able to help you modify shortcut command lines if no one here can though
  20. nope edit: unless your up for spending a significant portion of the rest of the year modding them together
  21. no, that has a lot more than ships in it. 0.6 is a lot more incomplete than .45 was. if i were you, i would just stick with .45 until the next update
  22. first, when you instal the mod, you need to create a new profile. also, there is no fix for the empire as a cpu crash, but there is a workaround. just start a game without an empire cpu, exit to the main menu, and start another game with an empire cpu, it should work fine. you wont see any team colors of empire ships, as far as i can tell, they only appear on some reb fighters and some republic ships. should still be easy to figure out which is yours though. 0.6 is available under the "latest version" link on he warlords homepage. download all the files there, and follow the instructions in the readme
  23. for injections, yea id say its pretty much required. the nav buoy has been a problem since the reinforcements gametype has existed. they arent supposed to be destructible, but they arent supposed to be buildable either.
  24. hmm, the only time i encountered -ru's was in .45. never figured out exactly what the trigger was, but they went away at the first injection. havent run across it in .6 at all yet.
