  1. hm ? there is nothing wrong with the providence KOF did. The Collision mesh is fine..
  2. it will Sonic, that was my point. You don't have unit targetting prioritys in space for infantry. This would mean the space unit would not be able to target or be targeted. You would have to bizarely add this to your spceunittargetting priorities file as a targetable object in space. However this is the beach of it.. You'd then have to add Infantry to all the spaceunits in your game as a targetting inaccuracy. This is a lot of work for some thing like this. If that would be the case.
  3. Gah. Yes your right ! - they would be better suited to an Infantry category. As they need a container just like Infantry use. In the container it specifys Garrison_Unit code. Try changing the category of the starfighter to be garrisoned then to Infantry. Then change all the garrsion categorys to Infantry from Vehicle. This *might* work
  4. Thats ok, mate. I am sure though we checked through all the required Garrison settings. (Monkey Biz posted the walk through earlier) I can't specify beyond that other settings that would be needed as that is pretty much how you set up this code to work on ground units. I expect that the starfighter needs to be recongnised as a vehicle rather than a Starfighter..? maybe this is where we have gone wrong with it. Won't garrison because the game does not recognise the ship as a vehicle. Just a thought.. If the code can be altered for a variant fighter, to a vehicle category then maybe it will take it. With Monkey biz's idea. If it were to work this way by changing the category from Starfighter to Vehicle, I'd imagine this will screw up the targetting prioritys xml file too, as the space units are not technically looking to fire at a vehicle, only starfighters, bombers etc. A targetting priority would I guess have to be added for vehicle in space ?! Otherwise any special starfighter unit using this garrison code will not be targetted in the game I would think.. but changing it to vehicle is the only thing I can think of with this to get to work the way which was suggested.
  5. yes, thats what I thought ! we tried changing all kinds of things in the code but they wouldn't garrison. You think the only thing close to this is using the executor deployment ability then ?
  6. I'm pretty sure we tried this in another topic several months ago. None of us could get this idea to work. The Garrison code for some reason would not work, I am sure we had problems with this last time. I said in the end if anyone finds a way of doing it to post up what they did - because this idea is really great IMO.
  7. ooh. Thats a brilliant tip there. I'll put that to use with some new idea's in my mod. - Cheers.
  8. Just stay away from porting things, and you will be fine. Plus if your using any of Zer0x's stuff or anyone elses please make sure you actually add a proper credits readme file some where to tell people who made the stuff your using from other mods. Mate I have to do this like everyone else, so should you.
  9. it does work. I just tried this on my own mod ship still moves when using missile shield ability.
  10. Some more pics..Work in production.. Doomgiver http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e99/drone_pilot/Doomgiva_final.jpg TIE Interdictor: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e99/drone_pilot/TIE_Interdictor_Final.jpg Hope you like them !
  11. As droid said..your really just better using the root bone. Esecially as your not familiar with using 3D Max its really your only option. (Unless you find an alternative model) with the bones you want - such as from a mod that has the units you are looking for
  12. Actually a good job it is a private mod.. a LOT of those idea's are very similar or the same as in sote which we have already implimented in the mod Alpha builds Modding your own private mod is fun though - you can build it just to the way you want to play a game.
  13. hmm right. how do you give credits to work that you have ported from another game ? that why its been reported. Please read the whole thread before assuming this is "just a fight". He has been porting models and textures from games like Battle front and claiming them as his own that is "authorship" of a model he has ported. Then redistributing them in his mods. This is a question of copyright and assets being stolen from one game and being used in another. This is illegal. I highly doubt he sought permission for porting the models from Battlefront.
  14. Written complaint sent to PR at Lucas Arts about your activities. Have a nice day
  15. Rubbish. If any of those models were not available to use they would not be on the web site in the first place. "The models" - are in packs you download. Get Evile JEdi here to prove what your saying. Because I don't accept a word a you are telling me. I want clarification on the so called models you claim need Evile JEdis "special" permission for. If models have been publically posted on a web site for download for the EAW community to use they are for us all to use, NOT select individuals as you have claimed. Otherwise you would keep such particular models hidden and private from public download in the first place. OK..Thats a lie.. You have used several models from other mods ? - you could not of made your mod with out their help. So I would say you do need things because you have models from XWA and other people..? your answer to this is YES I have used models from other mods because I did not have them in the first place Hardly. It will take more than you to damage my work mate. Who on earth do you think you are to threaten people like Dr Nick - ?? Or any of us.. So long as you make mods that contain illegal models in it you will get burned mate. The AT-PT, T1-B etc I have found several of Z3r0x's models in your mod that was used in your previous mods. I do not see proper permission posted in any form saying Z3r0x gave permission for them to be used. Up until recently and probably even now, your mod contained the AT-RT - which Fosh had specified it was not to be used. OK, this has now changed, however you have still not updated your credits file to state who made the model. (Hm actually you do not have a credits file) I can't find one. Until recently you used Ported models from Forces of Corruption to an EAW based mod. You finally saw reason and started work on a Proper FOC mod. Even though you continue to state you think porting is legal. You break the rules in the community at every turn. It is yourself hurting the community and your own reputation. Don't believe me ? - just ask around here how many people actually like you or what you are doing. I will now set off and contact PG and Lucas Arts for more information in respect to your activitys. I tried to be nice and ask you to behave properly, now I will go to other extemes to make you act as a responsible member. Its no wonder you have never submitted a mod to EAW Files ? - You know it would have got slammed. JMO
  16. Mate, people like Evile Jedi would never say this model or (That) one is for use only by you in your mod. Plus I very much doubt the XWA Mod team would say anything like that either. (I actually know this because my mod team has been in touch with that mod team for use of some new Star destroyer models we need for another mod) They stated "if there are any other models you would like just let me know" this does not imply restrictions to me at all. Evile Jedi would not imply restrictions either, as the models was released to the community for use in our mods. hmm the textures you speak of in any of these models are probably not made by your own hand. Either they are Warlords textures or ones made by XWA for those models from their mod you have used. In the case of the Implacable SD skin you uved the Eclipse SSD skin over it - or some one for you. That is not your skin either. Far as I am concerned thats a Warlords skin. Its owned by Evile Jedi and his team. JC
  17. yep the point is - is that if sharing conversions was a problem for Evile Jedi to keep track of no one would share them in the first place. I do not accept the excuse "this is for my mod only" rubbish. People often share models they have converted in the community for the good of the community for sharing. People who can't see this sadly are hurting the community IMO sote my own mod has its own unique models too mate. conversions that have been made to a certain high quality. Does not mean I will never share those models with other mods after my mod is publically available. I am appauled and sickened by people who cannot "share" it is like they have not been able to grow up and leave their childhood behind. Does not matter how unique you say your models are - if you are not sharing them with other mods this is your progative, however it will also make you disliked by others too. The XWA Mod team does not seem to me the kind of people who would restrict the use of models with one person. A friend of mine Daft Vader just obtained permission for their models also. It was not some kind of elite thing where only certain people can have these precious models. I also relent int he fact I am sure Evile Jedi does not want to be hassled by countless e-mails every day for people asking to use this model... or that one. For people who want this Rand Ecliptic.. Sgt Hicks as some will know - will be aware he is doing his own conversion for the community he said he will be releasing as a free model. Implacable - is warlords end of. XWA models - easily just get permission from their team. If Nomada converted some XWA models then I expect that he will require his name mentioned in the credits file. (For the conversion to EAW Format) JC
  18. That is actually besides the point and your contradicting yourself. You stated if people want to use those models they will have to ask the person who made them. In this case it seems to be some one called DTM As far as I am concerned you still need to give people more than that to actually say how this persona can be contacted. Is this guy a member of our community ? - why refer to him as DTM ? - why no other information how we should contact him ? Nomada if you say we need to ask some one for permission to use a model I expect you to give us the contact details - not tell use we cannot use those models because they are for you. If this is the case you should state these models were made for your mod. which would then contrict your first message saying people should contact the guy who made the model in the first place. Do me a favour.. Just stop doing this, if you say people need to contact him, then tell people HOW TO. If your own credits are legal you have nothing to fear from this do you In this case I refer to the Rand Ecliptic. As for Evile JEdi As long as you credit Evile JEdi in your mod as the the author of the models then your credits should be fine. I am sure evile Jedi does not want to be swamped with hundreds of emails all asking for permission. It is enough that you state that he is the author of the models. Evile JEdi can at any time refuse a mod to use his models is he so wishes. Its his right to. Which I would expect some times he will ask what models your using. I am not getting into a debate on permissions on this where in the past it has been satisfactory for people to ensure their credits file mentions Evile JEdi. This normally has been enough to satify the legal use of such models. :
  19. Evile Jedi models are for the community Nomada. Everyone has access to them and to use them in EAW mods. All is required is that you should mention that Evile Jedi is the Author of those models - not the people who convert them. You should give credits to the people who did the conversion, and the original author (Evile JEdi) This is how I understand it. For the Rand Ecliptic etc, you will need to publish the names of the people who did the conversions and skins etc. Otherwise people do not know who to ask at all. The only ship in that list that interests me would be the Rand Ecliptic
  20. Bit of news, Daft Vader and I have decided to make a sote demo mod for the community so we can show some of the things we have been working on these past months. I will post a units list of what will be in the mini mod near the time Daft Vader has put the demo together. Thanks JC
  21. This is the part of the actual copyright for the game. I assume from this that we can mod the where allowed. This I expect is in the released source files. Nomada the source files are not just in the exe, they are compiled files for the game to be executable with certain checks and settings for the game to work. PG released the source code in the map editor. There files are usually compiled as meg files and need a meg extractor to view them so they too are actually compiled source files. When they released them in the map editor, the decompiled the xmls for us so we can mod with them. Some Lua files cannot be decompiled in note pad and are not very readable. Others ARE. However, the thing that should be noted about Nomada's mod is that he has used models from other games in Star Wars yes, but several of those models are from mod teams not from the actual official game they were designed to mod in the first place. X-Wing Alliance's mod team will generally release models to other people on other mod projects if people ask for them and give proper credits to their mod team. As for the other models that where made for other mods like BF - it is really up to Nomada to provide the evidence that he got permission to use those models in his mod. What IS illegal is porting models from games that were not made by a mod team but the game developers. You'd really have to contact them and say "hey can I use those models in Empire AT War - please ?" - generally under the terms of a copyright agreement - you shall not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer any software with out permission. so in redistributing, it means that any part of the software should not used else where where it was not authorised. I do not accept the argument that you can use FOC source - models or anything else in the original EAW game. It breaks the law under the copyright agreement. Porting is illegal where no permission is found. Porting is not if they obtained permission. (In which case proper credits are required sowe know who made the original model) or source code. JMO JC
  22. The SMG Bulk Cruiser looks really good. I had a look at it in the ALO Viewer as well. The model doesn't look complete yet though so I would not recomend using that one just yet for your mods. Firefoxes conversion from the XWA model pretty good as well so I'd say that is a good alternative.
  23. For the first part you will need to import all your EAW formatted units into FOC. People do this various ways. Some add them to the ground units files other add them to their own unique xml folders. I do a mixture of the two. If you decided to do it the unique xml file way you just need to make an xml file the same way as you will see the default FOC expansion XML file for the new units PG added. Then you have to add their names to gameobjectfiles.xml The other way you just add all your units to the existing ground units xml files. Now you should not place your older ground units files or any other type of EAW files into the FOC folder. FOC uses a lot of new settings, such as garrison units ability, bribe types and other new things. Replacing the FOC files with EAW files will obviously break some thing in the game. The Space Addon mod incorporated the use of some older EAW files - by integrating them into the FOC mod. From what I saw this was for the AI - although if you tweak it right the FOC AI can be just as good without the additions the space addon mod did. Now. The thing is some times EAW unit code has to be modified and re done to FOC specifications. I have had some Space units acting really odd until I re did the unit code. So if you see Star fighters flying off screen this is what I am talking about. For each older unit like Infantry you will want to add Garrion code to the unit. So they can take cover in bunkers. For Vehicles they can board a transport on the ground etc. You can also add chaep bribe costs to the units also. For the Consortium to use against bribing units. Most EAW 1.05 code is compatible with FOC 1.1 with soem minor exceptions I have found. In which case as mentioned the code has to be re done. I have found no cases however where I have had to get new units made or converted for FOC. Older EAW models should work ok.
  24. I do like that skin on that. Looks pretty good.. However the other UT ATs I have seen look just as good the shadow is good, but its not some thing everyone will be bothered about seeing in the game.
