They're all possible, for FoC at least, the turrets have been done by a LOT of people already. Turrets as destructible hardpoints are not possible in EaW. The animations are possible for all.

well a faction mod wouldn't necessarily be huge. We're just making as many models as needed to fill up the unit roster of that faction. The series idea is a good one though. I'm not a fan of rescales too much myself (it ends up making things too big or too small for the screen/map and it looks ugly), but a game rebalance or some map packs I am in favour of. Maybe we can add the units from the new faction gradually then?

Yes, the Quarians didn't WANT to unleash a dangerous synthetic lifeform on the galaxy, their creations just suddenly decided to go hostile and kill stuff, if they knew that would happen they wouldn't have been scattered and basically wiped out. That IS punishment enough already.

Pretty nice ideas there. lol, playing as neutrals = Grand Theft Star Destroyer. That'd be hilarious, having how much you're "wanted" by the local police or whatever faction is in control of the planet. The only objectionable thing is training. Train if you need to, if you're good with flight sim games, save yourself the waste of time and just skip on. Though the empire will generally require you to do vigorous training exercises, the rebels would probably take whoever they can get and you'd get "on-the-job" training. lol. But I REALLY hate how tedious and boring training in RPG games are...even pokemon, its so boring to level your guys up...
