Hi gang! It's been a while since I slipped in here. RL kinda kicked my butt for several months. At least my login still works! Sorry to disappear without a trace, but I guess everybody knows how that goes. I haven't played Rebellion in a loooooong time. I'm currently playing a game called Galactic Civilizations. I'll be back to Rebellion, though. I've found that of all my games, the one I keep going back to is Rebellion. Well, just letting you all know I'm still alive and kicking. I'll try to drop in every so often now. I could never completely leave here! Hopefully it won't be another five months till I post here again! Elvis: a Moderator now? Congrats! I also read that you were stabbed! Be careful out there!!! Untimely Demise, signing out for now.

Hmph...I'm the Death Star. Wait, I'm the Death Star, baybee!

OOC: Elvis, I'm busy as a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest at work. I won't be able to post anything, can you take over Loor for me for a day?

Weird weapon changes
UntimelyDemise replied to glandry's topic in Old Star Wars games nobody plays anymore -JI
It's never happened to me, but I can just imagine your surprise when you're blasting enemies and suddenly you toss a thermal detonator right in front of yourself.... Oh, CRAP! *BOOM* -
Okay, here's a fun site! http://advertising.utexas.edu/research/humor/bona.html

Oh, I totally agree! But I think most people think it's too slow a process unless you build a fleet and meet the enemy. You have certainly suggested a great strategy for making the game very fun. I commend you on your patience!

Once you have a saved game, you can edit resources, ships, troops, et al. It's impossible to edit anything like the above without a savegame editor, because Rebellion randomizes everything when you start each game. For example, Sullust has a random amount of resources, facilities, troops garrisoned there, starfighters, etc each game. But after you start a game, you can use a savegame editor to go into Sullust and edit resources or facilities. You should even be able to change which systems each side controls so the Rebels can start with all their systems in the Rim for example.

OOC: Damn! I really wanted to say Tony Blair! That's my favorite joke...not very funny, huh? BTW, Elvis...I'd never dream of double crossing the Rebels... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IC: Loor had been waiting for the return of Malignant and Furious Strike anxiously. The information they would bring would be very useful and he wanted to have his technicians on it as soon as possible. But Loor was getting a little worried. Just then, a burned and broken Furious Strike exited hyperspace and came to a halt near the ISD Jagged Fang. Loor stared at it in horror. "Comm, get me the Furious Strike!" barked Loor. "Channel open, Admiral." replied the Comm officer. "What the hell happened?! Where's Malignant??" A long pause was followed by: "Dead. They're all dead. It was a trap...they have interdictor ships...we managed to take out one, but there's so many of them..." replied a clearly shaken Captain Urrolt. Loor could barely contain his anger. The stupidity of Imperial Fleet Command had caused him to lose one of his best Imperial Star Destroyers along with a trusted commander. After a moment to compose himself, he continued. "Understood. Do you have any sensor data?" "Sir, we have sensor data on every ship we encountered, along with a destroyed Vong fighter we managed to tractor on board before escaping. There is also a fighter embeded in Decks 18 and 19 which rammed us. The Vong warrior survived and killed 37 of our crewmen before a detachment of Stormtroopers stunned him. He is now under restraint in the brig, along with 10 of my best troopers guarding him. I must request he be taken immediately, as I fear his safety may not be guaranteed much longer. There are many angry troopers." "Yes, yes, prepare to have him moved to the Intense Hatred. He'll be interogated immediately!"
-
Excellent! BTW, I remember now, it's mask that's working on a savegame editor. How's that coming along mask?

As the improbably meeting between the Imperials and the Rebels ended on Krall, two shuttles silently lifted from the surface to rejoin their commands. Loor tapped a button to signal the Proud Order. "Get me the slicer, Garth." Loor commanded. After a few moments, Garth came on the line. "Yes?" Garth said. "We are in need of your services. You will be compensated double for this project. You will be moved to the surface to examine an alien vessel. I need to know everything about the vessel and the aliens themselves. I have no doubt about your abilities. Oh, and there will be some Rebel slicers there, too. Ensure they do not gather more information than you do."
-
All hail the Supreme Chancellor of Gibberish...Jahled!
-
I remember that...I think it was vakundok...or maybe someone else...I can't remember exactly who.
-
Interesting...I've never heard of anyone who didn't concentrate on fleet management. Characters are great for just about everything, but watch that you don't completely concentrate on them or you'll find several Super Star Destroyers plodding around the galaxy laying waste to your systems! I spend quite a bit of time on characters, but I still fight every battle instead of letting the AI determine the result. It's just more fun watching my fleets of Star Destroyers pummel the pitiful Rebellion.

No, there is only one TC being worked on: Rebellion: Reloaded. You might be thinking of the new game JediGreg is working on which one day will become Rebellion 2. By the way, I'm a Cookietrooper, too!

Hell, Keith Richards is younger than Tyler, isn't he? Yeah, Dude Looks Like a Lady would've been perfect!!
-
Well, I do. And Paul (Grand Moff Conway) only plays the Empire. I think Jahled usually plays the Empire too. On the Rebel scum side, there's Elvis. He's a hunka-hunka burnin' Rebel! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Actually, that's Elvis...

OOC: I agree. Luke needs to be able to condone this kind of operation. If he didn't, this would get kinda boring. I'm just glad you're controlling Luke, because I couldn't act as peacenik as he does. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IC: Loor wasn't crazy about giving the Rebel an inventory of his available fleet, but what choice did he have? Perhaps if he just failed to account for some of the ships... "I will transfer a ship list when I get back to the Proud Order, but suffice to say I have ample ships available. We have..." Loor was interupted by a beep from his comlink. "If you'll excuse me for a moment." Loor walked off a few meters to speak in private. "Loor here. What is it?" "Sir, we have received word from Fleet Command that another Imperial fleet has been dispatched to deal with the alien threat. They are asking us to send some ships to augment the fleet. What should we do?" Loor didn't want to weaken his own force, but knew that the fleet would be terribly outmatched if he didn't turn over something. "Inform the commanders of Furious Strike and Malignant that they are to rendezvous with the attack fleet. If they can't make do with a Victory cruiser and an Imperial Star Destroyer, they have no business attacking in the first place." Loor thought for a moment then said "Give me the commander of Malignant." The comlink crackled, then an older gentleman spoke. "Captain Borden here, Admiral. What are our orders?" "Captain, you will be receiving orders momentarily. I want to personally give you some instructions above and beyond these; however. You are going to go to battle with these alien forces. I am unsure of the success of this operation, so I need you to prepare for an early withdrawal from the battle. Gather as much information as you can. If the battle goes badly, withdraw and return to me. Make sure you make several micro jumps so the Vong cannot follow you. Is that understood?" A moment of silence was followed by Borden's reply. "Yes, sir. If we are so assured of defeat, why are we attacking?" "I am not in charge of this foolish attack, only you and Furious Strike. As such, I expect you to follow all orders of the fleet commander...up to the point in which you must withdraw. Inform Strike's commander to do the same. And only commit half of your starfighter squadrons. We will need as many fighters as possible when a successful operation can be planned. Loor out." Loor then turned and walked back to Elvis. "I have some bad news. Imperial Fleet Command is making a grave mistake, but it could still bring about some positive information." Loor went on to explain the doomed fleets' plans. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OOC: I know, I know...I'm sending thousands to their deaths. But this might give us a little info on the Vong force, since there have been no survivors in any of the other attacks.
-
Oh, well that's not a problem! Long live the Galactic Empire!

It's a cool name, nonetheless! You could've came up with a slightly goofy name like Zoot. In case you don't know, Zoot is Jahled's cat, and has homicidal tendencies. Welcome to our little corner of the web!
-
You can always send them on a suicide mission. Put them on a Galleon and send them to a planet that has a large volume of Rebel ships. ~OR~ Send them on a espionage mission to Yavin...from Coruscant. That'll keep em in hyperspace for weeks!
-
OOC: The fact that you guys can take on a Vong persona so easily disturbs me to no end... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= IC: After some thought, Loor spoke. "You want to barter with them...just like a Rebel. How your cause has ever continued, I'll never know. Isn't it obvious that the Vong aren't to be bargained with? And why would they need to? What can we give them that they can't take? It's apparent that they outgun even Imperial Star Destroyers. No, I don't think they will accept weak talk. The only way any communication will be useful is after we have shown we are stronger than them, or at least as strong. And for that, we will need to be victorious in battle." Though Loor had never seen these Vong, he envisioned mighty ships cutting through space, only to be ripped open by the combined might of the Imperial Navy and Rebel cruisers. Loor did not want to admit it, but he was at a loss as to what to do. If diplomacy would work, he'd be more than glad to talk. But from the reports he had been given, the Vong had not spoken at all to any of their combatants. If he met the Vong, he didn't want to give up any initiative by trying to open communications. Loor felt turbolasers would do the talking for him. But so far, the Vong had not been stopped. As a matter of fact, they hadn't even been slowed. Loor began again. "Whatever we decide, we're going to need to do it quickly. Even as we speak, the Vong are moving toward another system. They grow more dangerous every moment. We cannot afford to delay any longer." Elvis nodded his head in agreement. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OOC: Duh! Yes, nodded is the correct term, not shook.

Music to listen to while blasting the snot out of ...the
UntimelyDemise replied to GonkRaider's topic in General Discussion
In my Imperial view, you can't trust the masses to choose the proper government which provides strength, order and protection! Imperial governors can successfully operate a planetary government without the help of any local interference. An with the garrisons of Imperial Stormtroopers, all the protection you need is there.... Why would any planet not want Imperial rule???? The Empire provides jobs, training, and pride in a central government. The Rebellion offers chaos, confusion and general mayhem. Long live the Galactic Empire! Join GM Conway and myself! -
Yeah, they smuggle resource units...but not very many. I personally like blockading systems better...I may not get the resources, but I get the satisfaction that the Rebs aren't either!
