you would have to proportionally reduce their speed in the .xml file. The turbo speeds aren't real, it just looks like they are going too fast because they are smaller(at least from what I've experienced, you may have a different problem).

Re: Rebel tank.... Clone turbo tank?
Mistrider replied to Emperor_Cheeseman's topic in EAW General Discussion
I believe they are refering to the MPTL artillery tank that the rebels have. -
Re: Bryant's Mod: 2.0 Featuring Rebel AI

you don't lose all of them. but if you have any cap ships that have had their engines destroyed, they are lost when you retreat. -
if you play Balance of Power expansion pack to XvT, the Imperial campaign has you as part of Avenger squadron. If I remember correctly the first few missions had Avenger Squadron in TIE Interceptors that were modified to have shields and hyperdrives. (For reference, Avenger Squadron was THE best until Baron Fel took the 180-worst and made them into the 181st) Oh, and if any of you read the tooltips for the Imperial cap ships and frigates they all have a limited amount of fighters that they can spawn. The ISD for example only has 6 TIE Fighter squadrons and 3 TIE Bomber sqaudrons.(Though from what I can tell, the space stations have no limit)

the deathstar model is not ingame, combined with all the available maps being asteroid based(no planets to shoot) it cannot be fired in the demo.
-
I have been looking through the xml files, and it appears that many campaigns require that the rebellion's final world be destroyed in order for the empire to win, this adds even more tactical sense to only allowing you one deathstar before you lose.

Beowulf, this is the second time today I have said this to a person on this forum: If this forum had an ignore list, you would be on it in a heartbeat. Didn't your mommy ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

Re: Regarding the Venator in-game
Mistrider replied to DragonShadow's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
it should be near the bottom of the spaceunitsfrigates file in the XML folder, the name is Jedi_Cruiser -
I reinstalled the demo, than reinstalled the mod and it is working fine, though the rebels still seem to have access to an invisible ground unit, as I was unable to beat them when they attacked me on Naboo. had to retreat =(

Chr0n1x, I don't know if this is a problem caused by your mod, or by the version of SWMod.exe included in the first version, but when I build a research facility, I cannot increase my tech level because the research tech level 2 does not appear. I have tried this several times in GC, and also in the research tutorial, but it seems that the ground production building buttons don't move over to make room for the research button. In regards to your question, please keep it in. Also, please re-add the ion cannon. the whole point of it was to be a throne in the empire's side by knocking our ships out. A good commander would have enough ships in their fleet to not be hurt by the loss of 1.

I would say keep the EAW Mods thread clean. whenever someone posts their mod, you should add it to your original post, than delete the mod creators post, to keep the thread clean. Also, anyone who makes a post of their mod in a seperate thread should create a poll in the thread with the choices of 1,2,3,4,5 and when someone downloads the mod and plays it, they go back to the poll and rate it, 1 being poor and 5 being excellent.

Which demo mod has the most content?
Mistrider replied to goffries's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
from experience(I've tried almost all of them) the more features that have unlocked, the buggier it is. I'm currently using Cain's DMP mod and the only problem I have is an invisible pirate unit. -
btw Cain, there seems to be an invisible unit that the pirates can build. I was on Tatooibne and destroyed every visible ground unit, even got the no FoW bug and still couldn't find the final pirate troop(s)
-
*points at the (no install) statement of Cain's post* Perhaps you should make that big, red, and flashy Cain.

There is only one other game I can think of where it is this easy to mod, and it isn't a game most people would think of modding. i am speaking of course of World of Warcraft, where the entire interface is XML based and EASILY modifiable. I seriously hope the Petro keeps this structure of filing for the final release(just clean up the outdated E3 crap =P). Though I do wonder, what is the difference between the ships marks with an E3 name, and the regular ones(example, there is a Generic_Star_Destroy, Star_Destroyer, and Star_Destroyer_E3)?

Re: Bryant's Mod: 2.0 Featuring Rebel AI
Mistrider replied to Bryant_pff's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
The problem with the space stations is that he set them as higher level stations(the one at Kuat is a lvl 5) but to get it to not be invisible, he changed it to use the L1 model. So the station LOOKS like a lvl 1, but it THINKS it has more hardpoints than it really does, making it impossible to destroy. -
Please tell me campaign damage is not repaired instantly!
Mistrider replied to dougsmithuk's topic in EAW General Discussion
1. I don't really have any opinion, good and bad to it being set this way. 2. For the rebels, fighters do count. They are stronger than the Imp fighters, and cost pop points. The imperial fighters don't count, as they are weaker and mass produced(the Empire is all about quantity over quality). Also, the imperial fighters have no hyperdrive, so their only choice once all the caps ships are gone is surrender or die. -
Basically it is a stationary Interdictor cruiser, without the cruiser part.

I love the demo, it rocks. I've played for about an hour and a half, did all the tutorials and I've played the GC somewhat. The space battle is fun as hell(done it 3 times, got owned the first time, won the second and third). But I have yet to get the hang of the land battle, only tried it once, and it was WAY too hectic. I'll be sure to try it some more tomorrow when I have the time.

A good place to pre-order EAW Collector Edition in UK?
Mistrider replied to WingedHedgehog's topic in EAW General Discussion
if you have a friend in the US, order the CE and have them ship it to him, he can than send you the CD Key, you will simply have to find a website where you can get a backup copy of the game. Which *should*(it is in the US) be legal, since technically you own the game already. -
Speaking from past experience, Lucasarts always releases files through the LucasFiles network. In the past this site has been less than reliable, to the point of running out of bandwidth. If LA goes through their usual site, I wouldn't expect a widely available version of the demo until sometime Thursday EST.

If you add Centerpoint, there has to be a way to control it(even accidently) as what Anakin Solo did in the NJO series, hehe, bye bye enemy AND friendly fleet.
-
I don't know about that. Granted, a Rebellion system is going to go nuetral instead of becoming Imperial, but an Imperial planet that rebels will join the Rebellion, not go Nuetral. Perhaps a waiting period, it is nuetral for a short time before being accepted into the Rebel Alliance.
