  1. Eh, you truly need to play the game to understand what the issue is about. Most who have played Rebellion will agree that it was the best star wars strategy game to play if you really wanted to have that feel of playing in the Star Wars universe. The game was far from perfect tho, the space battles were horrible (most people I know don't even play the space battles and autoresolve), too much mircomanagement, and just lack of eye candy. When most people heard about EAW it truly looked like Rebellion 2, it looked like it had corrected all the issues that troubled rebellion and was the game all Star Wars gamers have been waiting for. Problem was while the space battles were vastly improved and the eye candy is there, instead of putting mircomanagement in moderation they took it almost out completely (so we went from two extremes, too much to too little, we need to find the balance point). Also EAW took out a lot of the gameplay that made Rebellion a great Star wars strategy game. That is why people here always bring up Rebellion, we feel we are soooo close to having that perfect star wars strategy game we can almost taste it. I still say that Rebellions gameplay with EAWs graphics and eye candy would make the best star wars game and one of the best strategy games ever.
  2. I would rather have a petition that would gives us the mod tools with the ability to add diplomacy. That way we can do it the way we want and not have to worry about LA making them do a half a** job.
  3. Thanks Delphi. Any news on when the modding tools will be coming out? This will add so much to the game and make your job so much easier.
  4. Clone wars are always a nice addition, they do a good job of bridging the gap, but why would you include the holiday special....do you even have the holiday special? Could probably do with out the ewok movies too.
  5. I don't think it will be about Luke, I think it was just worded really badly to mean it will take place in the 20 years between ep III and EP IV. Here is another article that I think clears it up and goes with what I have previously heard: http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=18269
  6. Yea I am sure you all know about it, but here is some more info: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4808746.stm And you guys thought it was bad when the movies contradicted EU, just wait for this lol I am sure this will include more EU than the movies did, but I am also sure it is going to open up the door for tons more eu contradictions.
  7. But George is about the money as well...... If LA keeps up tho, people will EVENTUALLY stop buying the games, and hopefully things will return to classic LA. But who knows when a game just being star wars will stop making it an instant hit. Untill then LA doesn't care what quality game they throw out there.
  8. I want to say there is no way LA could not release the modding tools, since that was a major selling point of the game, but knowing LA and knowing there is work on an expansion I can see them "forgeting" to release the mod tool.
  9. Yup, that is part of the fun of games, you can change the history. Obi-wan could train kyle, Yoda could have come out of hiding before ESB, Luke could fall to the darkside. I wish since the game was suppose to allow you to "change star wars history forever..." would have had more sandbox play.
  10. If he knew or not doesn't change the fact that he is force sensitive. Who is to say that if Obi-wan stumbled upon him he wouldn't give him a quick lesson in the force.
  11. I would prefer variety over balance any day.
  12. The supershadow stuff is fake, because the prequel stuff wasn't accurate, and the sequel trilogy stuff includes EU stuff that lucas would never include. Lucas has the number of decision on what is accurate. He came up with the stories long before EU was around. It is his universe and he can do whatever he wants to it, he doesn't have to work with what some petty authors have come up with. Sure he has the final say in what the authors can put in, it is rare that he has any say in them, I doubt he cares what is put in them as long as he is getting his checks. Movies will always be the highest form of canon, EU has to work around them, not the other way around. Any of the EU included in the movies is a miracle in itself and should be happy that it made it in.
  13. The supershadow stuff is fake, and has been proven fake a long time ago, it is nothing more than fan fiction.
  14. Ah, finally found it: In reference to tie interceptors... some more:
  15. It looks like the Ssi-Ruuk and their planets were in the game or planned to be at one point, so them being in the expansion doesn't seem to far out of the question.
  16. All these lead me to believe that and expansion was underway even before the game was released. I can't seem to find the post where he told us the tie interceptor was going to be in sometime down the line (I am pretty sure he told us).
  17. Yea I agree, I think the original game was meant to be much larger, but then when LEC saw the buzz that EAW created they said hey, we can make a couple games and expansions in the series. Like someone said, Delphi said they originally had 50+ models for the game, this is models not concept art. Usually they will make concept art and then cut them, they were past that stage and putting them in the game and being cut. Also the whole postponing the game to make it the most polished game ever only to release it with a lot of bugs seems a bit suspicious as well. Also it seems they were already working (at least major preproduction) on the expansion well before the release of EAW. Maybe they already have a lot of stuff made to add to it?
  18. Wow cool, fighter dog fighting on land look nice. The space battles with all the fighters looks a bit cluttered tho, is there a way to shrink the fighter box? Also why would it be hard to take down a y-wing, they are slow and clunky?
  19. I think the storm commandos could really fit into the game as well, not sure how to make the black armor tho, perhaps just make it a blackish smokey grey? http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/stormcommandos/index.html
  20. Hmmm, any plans on making the blackhole troopers? (stormtroopers with black armor) Be cool if we can get these troopers to fight better in their environments. Could also do this for the rebel factions. You can make the Sullustians better on volcanic worlds, Wookiees better on forest worlds, Mon Cals better on water worlds, the eskimos better on cold worlds and Gungans better on swamp worlds. For the pirate faction would could make the twi'leks a buildable unit and have them tolerant of hot and cold worlds.
  21. Hmm once the mod tools come out do you think it will make it easier to add these units? And would it be possible to manke the Tantive IV Leia's ship?
  22. Wow, now wish I could see a computer that could actually play that.
  23. Not your idea, see posts 29 and 31
  24. Now that looks like more a swamp trooper to me.
  25. I think your mustafar is way off. I have seen it on new maps of the galaxy (this is the only one I found on a quick search) and it looks to be more outer center: http://www.planetside-idealab.com/images/swg_future_galaxy.jpg Which makes more sense since in epIII the characters get from coruscant to mustafar rather quickly. I would imagine it to be more closer to the outer rim than the one above tho, but still in close proximity to Utapau.
