one slight problem though. The Ven has the coloring of a clone wars version. The should be using the empire version which would be all grey. Only way it should have the red markings is if the other ships have their red markings too which isn't the case in this picture.

This power would be all well in good, if he could die from it....LIKE IN THE MOVIE! "Evacuate, in our moment of triumph?!" *Tarkin's entire fleet gets detroyed* *gets new fleet* Tarkin: "Well not retreating seemed to work last time...." *entire new fleet gets destroyed*

They did say bounty hunters would be able to take heroes out for awhile. I infact wouldn't mind having even more heroes, I want them all. Problem is, to solve these hero issues we need hero death. With hero death if you use your forces to take out one hero you wouldn't need to worry about them ever coming back again. more units wouldn't be so bad either.

Delphi has said before, while they support mods they aren't as professional as the actual game, so that is why expansions are done (that and money... ) I will be kind of mad if they take out the venator (one of my fav ships) out for a marketing ploy. -
1) this should be in the preview section 2) it has already been posted. closed.

So we have our Clone Wars and Post ROTJ Mod
Nevets replied to Nevets's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
You know what I thought of when that preview said to have the death star you need Kasyykk and Geonosis? This would be perfect for the star forge. Tatooine, Kasyykk, Manaan, Korriban, and Dantooine are all in the game, all star forge planets. So the only planet that would need to me put it is the star forge planet and this could really work. -
agreed. it was a little overbored, just a little too much. I was twelve when I got that game and it didn't overwhelm me that much. The lack of eye candy and too much micromanaging I think is why it didn't do so well. But if you look now, when this game came out everyone was like "YES! finally Rebellion 2" so it must have grabbed some fans along the way (it was easily the best star wars strategy game). Yes, it had the micromanagement was a bit tedious, but Petro is making it sound like it is the devil, its not, it added a lot to that game in moderation. I liked making fleets a deciding what fighters I want in each cap ship. The only thing that ever made me really mad were the assaination and sabotage attempts, no matter how many I sent, they would never sabotage or kill anyone. I think the "Rebellion 2" reaction to this game speaks volumes. Initially the game got bad reviews, but 8 years later people are still talking about it in a positive light. This is the star wars strategy target audience. They are trying to make it accessible to eveyone, but not everyone wants to play strategy, you should make a strategy game for the strategy players (who for sure will buy it) and then you will bring in people who thinks it looks like a cool game, it worked for me with rebellion and at the time I was far from a strategy player. Don't dumb down a game to appeal to other audiences, if you make a good game, others will come to it. *whew* sorry about that K back on topic, The force senstive trainees (mara, luke, leia and kyle) should also have the possibility to be pulled to either side, since atleast one time in their histories (except maybe leia) have been tempted by the different sides of the force.
-
Basically what we are trying to say we want a Rebellion 2. Rebellion updated to a EAW level would truly be the greatest star wars (and probably any) strategy ever. The game itself didn't have much eye candy, but its gameplay was unmatched. If it had the eye candy of EAW.........*drools*
-
Not in the movies or not in any good EU. But option should be in the game, she was just a force sensitive as luke. "That boy was our last hope" "no there is another...".

Hmm I was thinking about making this thread yesterday. Anyway, it sounds kind of clear there will be an expansion, the way Delphi said "mustafar will find its place" or something. EDIT: Ok, a lot of yours is stuff I want, sorry if I repeat. -Have the game start at the same timeline, but a tech tree that goes from epIII-epVI, maybe slightly beyond. - No linear story contraints. a completely dynamic story, you create the events, you decide the objectives. The tech tree only goes to ROTJ, but the game only ends when the empire or rebellion is defeated. -Hero death. A feature that adds strategy, and truly allows you to change the star wars story. -Customizible heroes. You get to make a character from a number of different species. This will allow the player to truly feel like they are having an impact on the star wars galaxy. -More movie units. If you are making a star wars game you need to include movie stuff first. (SSD, tie interceptor)(And it would be nice to finally be able to play all three Mon cal classes: winged, wingless, and home one) -Few more EU units. There should be no need to make new units when the EU (especially other strategy games) has already come up with them for you. You should put in movie units first, then eu, and if you absolutely have to then create new ones. -More movie heroes (lando, yoda...) -More eu heroes (Thrawn, Garm Bel Iblis, Borsk Fey'lya) -More planets -8 player galactic conquest -More uniquness on planets. The yavin video looked like they just copied endor, it doesn't look like a jungle planet at all, and this is between two toatally different planets. I hope there will be a big difference between planets like Shola and Mustafar. -Stay true to canon. I know I mention this on every thread, stay true to the movies and a lesser extent EU. Rancors don't live on Tatooine. -A video option that lets you watch the battle from the bridge of some capital ships. -The ability to train the force sensitives to jedi (Luke, Leia, Mara, Kyle) Can probably think of more, will get back to this later. BFII put a lot of things in that the fans wanted, I hope they listen to the fans for the EAW expansion or EAW 2.

I think there are many more important canon breaking issues than this.
-
You know what I just thought while reading this thread. This game doesn't have enough strategy for a strategy game and not enough star wars for a star wars game.

They better not have taken it out, an actually star wars vessel, and left the broadside and Tarting crap in. -
As for that picture, by land combat I think it means you can't use fighters the way you could in Battlegrounds. I think that picture is showing a bombing run, which we know you can do.
-
Yea definitely not the game we have hoped for or lead to believe. Could still be a good game, but still not the game we all want.

Did an old expert from LEC work on this game?

also the new update mentions Mynocks for one of the new planet descriptions. -

Planet location is not a huge deal for me, as long as planets are in their general area. As it is right now I would say Coruscant could actually be right under the info bubble. What I really don't care for tho is that they placed all the planets linearly, I think it would look more galactic like if they were placed not in a set pattern. Anyway, another thing that is kind of hard to understand is that it doesn't look like Tatooine is going to have Krayt dragons. A canon creature native to Tatooine that would fit the role of the rancor perfectly. The bones and call (by obi wan) were seen in the first star wars film, and the creature itself was even in concept art. Krayts also have played a big role in several star wars games such as SWG and KOTOR. It just doesn't look like they have done their research at all. -
They are planned to be in a mod, also I can see them being in an expansion.

It is a redoing and at the moment, most well done look wise of any mapping of the star wars galaxy. That map was not infact made for SWG, it was originally made for the NJO series: http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/gallery/map-vp.jpg as you can see the SWG map is almost completely ripped off this one, it even has "empire" area still on it. basically tho, at this point, this map and its reincarnations are the ones that are held true to most star wars fans. Most the movie planets are placed in the correct location since the movies usually give somewhat of a location. Naboo should be close to Tatooine since in EPI they go to Tat because it is so close. Geonosis should also be close to Tat since it was their closness that allowed Anakin to relay Obi-wans message in EpII. Bespin and Hoth are close because their closeness was one of the reasons the went to bespin trying to escape hoth. The only planet that does not make much sense in this aspect is Mustafar. It is suppose to be in the outer rim, but yet in EPIII the emperor leaves Coruscant and arrives their almost with no time elapsing. As for the other planets, that map was made for the NJO with the help of their star wars literature databanks. A lot of these planets were created by these authors so I think they would know where to set their planets in the star wars universe while I normally wouldn't care where they put planets, if you are having a game bases of trade routes, you should atleast use what is held true to what is already established. Here are some other maps that have the same basic outline for the planets: http://www.darthrage.com/starwars/pictures/1/star_wars_galaxy_map_2.jpg this one shows Mustafar and Utapau: http://www.planetside-idealab.com/images/swg_future_galaxy.jpg http://www.maarasuniverse.com/wallpaper/SWGalaxy.jpg http://www.africatower.com/starwars/maps/starwars_map1.jpg Edit: Also by going by the screenshot everyone is talking about: http://www.sw-eaw.de/galerie/org/390.jpg Anaxes would have to be the planet most out of wack, it should be right next to Coruscant. -

True, but at this point anyone with general star wars knowledge would do. what is next the sith sand people of Korriban? or the Mon Cals of Maanan? Even when Star Wars Galaxies took already established creatures and put them on other planets they atleast changed their names and apperance somewhat. I am pretty close to the point of thinking they should have just made 20 completely unique planets, instead of having 40 planets that are just copies of atleast one other planet. -
First we saw the Rancor on Tatooine. ok, it is probably just to show the rancor off early in the game. It is still there and not on Dathomir. Now in a recent screenshot we show a mission to kill jawas and a sandcrawler on.....Ryloth! this scenario is impossible for two reasons. 1) Ryloth's surface is for the most part uninhabitable, the twi'lek live in underground cities. 2) Jawas don't live on Ryloth!!!! (I am still hoping the pic is actually of Tatooine and just mislabled) If you must add something like this to the game make it up, don't use preestablished canon on places it shouldn't be. (exact opposite of what was done with spaceships).
