You cant possibly think Palpatine was leading the the Republic, the CIS and planning the next strikes and moves of the CIS at the same time. Grievous was indeed the person behind the brilliant attacks. The book says that the CIS were winning? Confusing. Palpatine obviously wanted the Republic to win so he could get his hands on Anakin, but why did he continue to use humans as troops for the Empire when he could have started producing droid armies? Why didnt he choose the troops that would have won the Clone Wars without his interference, why did he choose the weaker soldiers?

Yes, I believe the undercity people started rebuilding Taris, and evetually after the succesful reviving of Telos they received massive additional support from the Republic. The Rackghouls must have survived too, 'cuz toxic and filthy-like animals and insects tend to survive disasters better than humans. I believe Taris will not be Coruscant-like at all in EaW, I think it was never rebuilt to that level.

Bottom line: The EU is not "real" Star Wars, so that multi-layed shield thing you probably read from EU books in not "real". The "read your books"- note is thusly stupid.

The best way to solve this morale thing would be this: You use the DS: Many planets secretly lean towards the Rebellion. You bring the DS near a neutral planet: Many planets nearby will join you, including the one that is threatened. You use the DS only to make planets join you and never really pull the trigger: Planets start to think you dont have the guts to destroy a planet and the join-effect will decrease.

EaW is turning out to be more and more like an amateur RTS, so I think diplomacy will only be possible in campaign through certain missions and no, I dont think there'll be any concequences for using the DS, wich is stupid.

@Nevets: I think Gievous was a better tactical leader than anyone else in that time period, and he was an alien... @Beowulf: No, the CIS were clearly losing the war. From the battle of Geonosis to the slauthering of their leaders it was clear that they would lose. Grievous was a cunning tactician, and so he went for a final crazy attempt to capture Palpatine in the ending stages of the war, knowing that failure would cost them the war, as it did.

Why not? Sounds like a good idea to me. Funny moments and dramatic battles could be shared with everyone, and then of course the occasional owning that Vader already mentioned.

Why would Snake want to kill Otacon? They're friends and both part of the Philantrophy, so why? You can always add in a bunch of boss fight-style arenas Snake will have to travel through and naturally defeat the opposing boss. Like Darkmark said, there are enough villains...

Since when has Mariachi tried to rule the universe? No matter what, he wont spoil my plan to conquer Switzerland and Austria someday. I dont like Hapans either. Why? They're EU.

Are demos usually downloaded from the official website for free? If they are, the cool, 'cuz I've always been under the impression that you have to buy them from a store of something... I aint much of a PC player...

Everything looks real nice and promising up to this point. JediIgor, it's a frickin' RTS, no RTS ever had realistic unit endurance. Just think about it, do you really want battles that last for two minutes maximum just because of realistic endurance. The game is about massive galactic battles, but the battles seem even more massive when they last a bit longer. Stop crying or stop posting.

Why is this thread in the Prewievs and Screenshots-section too? One of these has to be deleted immetiadly, or else we're gonna have a split topic on our hands. I already replied to the other one.

Oh yeah, everytime we've seen somebody showing off EaW, they've played as the Imperials. Every single time I can remember, they've been owned. How is this good marketing? It makes the game seem really unbalanced and unrealistic for the mass. It's like Petroglyph is lying to the buyers when they lose intentionally.

You can add things to your last post by clicking on the "Edit"-button in above your post, El Mariachi. I think the Plex Troopers and the AT-STs in the video took that much damage without being killed because the game is incomplete. However, you must rememeber that real time strategy games never have a very realistic unit endurance system. Every unit in this game will be more endurant than it should, 'cause this is a RTS. Just think about it, this game is all about massive battles, but Petroglyph can't make the battles too large, of your computer would chrash, so they just make units more endurant, and BOOM! You get long battles that seem massive without computer problems.

I don't consider Shola to be a Mustafar rip-off. Is it a rip-off just because it happens to be a volcanic planet? I don't think so. And btw, Shola doesn't even look like Mustafar. Mustafar is very dark while Shola glows a red light. Also Mustafar seems to be a lot more lava-soaked than Shola. As far as volcanic planets go, they couldn't be more different.

I truly hope they make subtitles available. I'm not deaf, but I am from Finland. When a chaos of audio reports is raging, it's not too easy to understand everything, subtitles make it considerably easier. In fact I have had English subtitles on in every English-spoken game I've played, of course only in the ones that allow them.

Correct. In fact that's about the only EU I can accept as a part of the Star Wars Saga.
