Yes as they are called Capital Ships fighters cant be renamed as they aren't as large and are easier to kill. -
No the Hutts cant with stand mas fire but fire to different areas wouldn't affect them because of how deep their interal organs are.

I don't think anything has been released on Leia but up until the ANH or about a week before she was a Senator in the Imerial Senate? and Princess of Alderaan i suppose if she does anything or if she's in she'll just be a spy?
