Well I had envisioned using the storyline from FoC somewhat and adapting it. We are a group of smugglers trying to make our way in the galaxy. Tyber Zahn's consortium is making it hard on us because he is trying to unite the underworld under himself and get rid of Jabba, and he attacks smugglers not in his employ. After we see the cruelty of the imperials we join forces with the rebellion and do certain tasks for them.

Well I've got some time right now so I'll throw in an idea for the story. Basically recycle the FoC ideas and units. Have each person be a smuggler with one space unit that is their spaceship (if you want it to be an SSD then so be it) and one ground unit as their personal vehicle (well-armed of course). It is the story of a group of fringe smugglers that are loosely allied and the affect of the Galactic Civil War and Tyber Zahn's organization upon them and their relationships. Several roles in this could be: 1) ally with Rebels (idealistic) 2) ally with Empire (paid money) 3) ally with Tyber (paid money) 4) unaffiliated and be paid on a job basis (Boba Fett like) This is just some basic ideas that could be used for episodic content for the series (if it is going to be one).

Guys I've got a barricade of work to get through in the next week and a half. I'm afraid I'm going to be MIA in that time for work on this project.

Well I meant more customization as in loadouts for fighters and bombers and the different "hardpoints" on capital ships being able to choose whether you wanted turbolasers, ion cannons, or laser cannons.

Well I am a huge fan of Pacific Storm (even though I won't get it until next year), but it occurs to me that if it were made into EaW2 with the cool campaign and totally customizable ships and research it would be an awesome game.

I was only gonna play in the afternoon. 2pm-6pm or thereabouts CST.

Well just for a heads up we're going to go against AI opponents in these matches (unless we have more than 5, in which case we'll decide then what to do). We'll be playing both sides in this too so it won't be just playing as rebels or just playing imperials either.

Well Ghostly posted a tenative EaW event for this Sunday (afternoon or evening) for us to play EaW together and generally have a good time. More than likely it will be space maps, but don't rule out land (just that space are better). All interested post here. [PFF]Garbageben or something like that is my ingame name so add me to your friends list and we can chat ingame on what options to set for our skirmishes.

I'll try to get everything patched up and ready to go by then. I should be able to play some on that day (depending on HW load at the time).

After a while it could get out of hand though. Say A recruits B, then B recruits C, then C recruits D, and finally D recruits E. That'd leave you with a whole bunch of levels in the group (ie it'd be very divided). Now if you say the people you recruit would be in your squad and any person they recruit could also be added to that squad. However if I may point out that most of our recruitment for now is coming from volunteers, so this isn't really much of an issue right now. We'll see what some of the higher ups have to say about it.

I got the game. Red Orchestra was originally a mod for UT 2004. Now they release it as a game over steam.

BTW Delphi when can we expect news on Petroglyph's second project? I'm thinking hopefully by summer?
