That's going to make this game more tactical and strategic. You won't be able to just make a one size fits all invasion force and win every time. You're going to have to take into consideration how the weather conditions may negatively affect your invasion forces and adjust accordingly. Good point Naja!

In addition to Joint Task Force I am looking at this game. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/ghostwars/index.html It allows the player to take control of individual units in the game and play as them. Looks like an interesting game.

Well we've got 5 people so far. Fosh Gen Vader Ghostly Me Jedi Knight Nathan Maybe if the demo includes 8 player skirmish we can skirmish AI. Probably will do some 2v3 as well (go easy on me. i'm not good ).

Must be an EA thing. Civ4 and other games work fine with no lag. We even did the BFME2 beta together and it worked with no hitches or lag at all. That bot just cracks me up. Maybe if Ghostly hadn't started with a cuss word in the first sentence, but the rules said excessive cussing so that couldn't have been it. Anyways it was a waste of time and all because I had the wrong version of warlords for HW2.

It seems dumb to charge extra money for a game just because it is on 1 DVD instead of 3 CDs. Anyway I have don't mind going through 3 CDs for installation and it appears that both the DVD and CD versions come in the same sized box so the space taken up will be about the same as well.

Since when did a editor for a mag become "offical", only LA reps or Devs can be "offical". And untill one of those 2 say it i wont buy it. Delphi could probably win a 7v1 skirmish against us since he's played so much. Well maybe not, but he'll be hard to beat (not that I'm going to try because I'm bad at RTS games). Anyway I picked Coruscant because I truly think that, from the space picture I've seen, it looks like the Coruscant I have imagined from reading the books, although I can't say anything about the ground because I haven't seen it yet.

Ok. So we're going to have several rounds of play. I'd say maybe 2-4 space and land battles each (if they go fairly quickly). I also think each person should play both sides in these skirmishes to get a feel for them and for variety's sake. Should be a fun event. Hopefully the demo will be released some time next week so that we can actually have an event before all our lives accelerate back into the busy fast lane of life. What if some of us think the pop cap is fine? I think the 20 + reinforcements is going to work fine. It leaves you with a decent sized fleet for *gasp tactical combat against the enemy. It's like PG said in an interview months ago that you could build a large fleet, but then there would be the whole "diminishing returns" scenario. There is no real bonus for massing ships because you can only bring out so many at a time.

It's the Dark Empire Series and I've only seen it in the Dark Horse comics format. I don't know if it has ever been written in novel form.

Hey guys I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but just some observations here. Monthly magazines are not randomly thrown together every week. This month's magazine could have been with information gotten a month ago. With this in mind: A month ago was before the new SW: EaW official site. When the site was made it had the Venator in. However the Venator disappered 3 weeks ago, or after the magazine article might have been finished. It is possible that that screenshot is a month old, in which case it is possible that the Venator still not is in the game. To be honest I'm pulling for it as much as the rest of you, but I'm just trying to give a bit of caution too. I really hope I am wrong. Here's to hoping the Venator is in the game.

So he went underground and made a private war with the Empire in the time that he was thought dead. He doesn't pop back out until the Thrawn Trilogy.

The fleet carriers they had. Can't remember the actual designation, but I remember one was the Flurry. That would work if the Venator were a carrier, but since Delphi said it was an all-arounder then I'd say the Assault Frigate MK1.
