RAM Minidump fix (SOME COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQ'D!)
MrPhildevil replied to sloosecannon's topic in Beta Testing
Uh, I have Trinity. Could this be the reason all this is acting Fuzzy? In any case, would you care to provide me with the link to the versions you think are appropriate, or at least indicate me their names? Basically, to rule the problem: -Where can I get the SOGE pack again, in case I don't find-it back in my SOGE comp? -What version of Sins I should have (including patch number, as I think I run SOGE on sins 1.042 or something like that....)? -
Here's two of my cards (stats written in encyclopedia may be wrong): http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y339/Mr_Phil_/Rebellion/CloneSquad.jpg http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y339/Mr_Phil_/Rebellion/AT-ATSquad.jpg I think your approach was good. You basically chose planets that were more important than about a 100 in Rebellion: Akri't'ar, Norval II, Fwillsving, a lot of the planets were not important and you replaced them with the such of Kuat and other. However, I went for an approach more centered on the groups. As of yet, I manage to get the sectors not to be very clustered (they may look like-it, but as a lot of sectors are WIP, this wont be how the final product look) Yes, I already had some issue about planet positionning but I think they turned out okay yet (namely the Spice Triangle sector, where I wanted to preserve the Easter Egg). As I said, bunching sector have yet to be a problem. If it turns out to be, I may change the galaxy picture to get-it to show a more "Northern" galaxy. Nah, not a new game, I can't program anything. In fact, I'm not sure yet which DLL I should pass-up to be certain that all modifications are applied. To be honest, I am not sure you will be able to get only a part of the mod. That was what I did not like about your mod. I was trying to get-it to work with Reloaded and I could not do-it. Anyway, my mod will have the same problem, but I wanted-it to come with a less vanilla version of the game, with new aspects, but no crazy unballanced stats (believe me, these stats have been tweaked countless times against one another and against their prices vs effectivness not to mention time of construction). Could you tell me which ones? I've yet to see them. If you could provide me with a way to edit those, that'd be great (not that I'm there yet). Maybe I'll use one of them to make the Hapes sector and make very short descriptions. What do you think? http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y339/Mr_Phil_/Rebellion/Planetpics.jpg They are a lot of work, to remove the damn blue dots... French

RAM Minidump fix (SOME COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQ'D!)
MrPhildevil replied to sloosecannon's topic in Beta Testing
I may just buy another one then. Here's the new checksum: 869079040 And I just got another minidump right after the update. I took note of the number and started a new game. Not 3 minutes into the game, I got a dump... Where should I look for a legit copy? Would digital version available on stardock's website work for SOGE? -
Well, I was spamming Darth Tex's thread and thought my project deserved a thread of its own. So here it is. I love rebellion. Think it is one of the greatest game I've ever played, whatever my friends may say about-it. I liked the Reloaded TC, and the fact I did not need to use a CD anymore. However, there are a lot of things I did not like from-it as well. Some of the characters did not ring any bell to me and I wanted to replace them with others. I can't claim the work of just about everything in my total conversion project. I owe-it all to the rebellion community and more in general to the SW community. (So here's what I have been working with: -Rebellion 1.00 -Reloaded TC -Changed loads of characters to some that are more significant to me. (95% done, as I am satisfied but may change something here and there) -Adjusted their stats to get something still playable. (99%) -Changed tons of ships (models and cards), replaced and adjusted their stats A LOT to get a good balance between the ships. (95% again) -Changed troops (made AT-AT card myself) (95%) -Changed special characters (80%) And the biggest project is still a WIP: galaxy overhaul. Darth Tex made his own, but we all have different opinions on how the galaxy should look like. My vision differs from his. I wanted a galaxy that is more attuned to the actual groups of planets and with a chart of planets a little bit more official and up to date. Right now, I have this done: -Corporate sector (100%) -Mon Calamari/Centrality sector (100%) -Yavin Sector (100%) -Hutt Space (100%) -Deep Core (100%) -Modell Subsector (80%, positions are not accurate yet) -Kashyyyk Space (35%, planets are chosen, descriptions are being redacted, positioning and planet pics to do) -Spice Triangle (100%) So 6 sector done out of 20, 2 close to completion. Projected sectors are: -Hapes contorsium -Unknown Region/Chiss Assendancy -Corellian to be reworked -Hoth and greater Javin/Anoat? -2 for Pentastar alignment -1 for Coruscant and surroundings For now, that's what I've got. I use some of Slocket's planets to replace some of Rebellion's ugliest pics... but plan on scanning some off my Essential Atlas sometimes and see if I can get them into the rebellion color pallet without killing the effects. If anyone want some screenshots of anything specific, as for-it and I shall deliver. I'll post a few screenies of sectors soon. perhaps encyclopedia entries too, as every planet is going to get a new description (except maybe a few that were already in rebellion, which may still get an addendum.) If anyone see their work and want to get into the final Credit list (if there's one, because as I said, there are only a few thing I can claim to have really done all by myself). My english is not perfect, so if you see errors, reporting them to me may help in correcting them. Then again, this suppose that there is interest for my work... Still, be assured that I'll post the final version here. And just to be on the safe side, you may ask for me to send textstra.dll and encytext.dll (at least, I think that's their name...)) Edit Mod IS OVER. I wont be working upon-it for some time, but I think this version has pretty much everything you may want from my mod, till I work on-it some more. Rebellion 1.5 beta v2: https://www.4shared.com/archive/PDxTFDOvca/_Rebellion15_Mod_Betav2.html *Need to subscribe (free) to be able to download, it seems. Eye candy (might be old versus beta v2...): Here's the read-me, by the way: viewtopic.php?p=547267#p547267

RAM Minidump fix (SOME COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQ'D!)
MrPhildevil replied to sloosecannon's topic in Beta Testing
869074303 Would it help to mention that my copy of Soase has been bought from Taiwan (or something like that)? I did get it for less than the regular price, and could still install-it in english. However, I've had problems using my serial to get the updates (don't remember how I finally got them. I think I got the updates on filefront...). Do you think buying a brand new (american or canadian) copy would be worth a try, or a waste of money? -
RAM Minidump fix (SOME COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQ'D!)
MrPhildevil replied to sloosecannon's topic in Beta Testing
What is the checksum and how can I transfer-it here? Well, I've got an Anti-Virus, "Kaspersky". I'll try without, but I already tried and still got the md loads of time (before the fix). I could re-download the whole mod and re-install, but I doubt that is the issue. Can't find-out what is on my end. If only I could find back the folder containing the dumps, maybe we could find out what's wrong. Heh, I've got 56 dump stored there. Occupies 422 MiB's, and I remember I've deleted around 30 before I had those. -

RAM Minidump fix (SOME COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQ'D!)
MrPhildevil replied to sloosecannon's topic in Beta Testing
Okay, so I tried both and it seems I still get the minidump on my save. I'll start anew, just to see if it still happens. You mentioned you wanted to get peeps trying these fix to post their specs. Here are mine: Acer AM3400-E2212 AMD Athlon II x4 core 4 GiB RAM Windows 7 Familial 64-bit 1 TiB space disk Nvidia GT-220 or something along these lines (not an internal shit) -
How to run the game WITHOUT the CD
MrPhildevil replied to beethovenite's question in Questions from Newbies
I never found daemon tools to be user friendly... Never worked properly on my computer. -
Yup, I had figured it was normal By the way, this is no netbook I have over here... Edit: I did not really notice any difference, granted I'm not sure what is the exact meaning of "buffer". Still had a loading minidump though. Anyway, no time for further testing today Gotta get to work. Hava nice one!
-
Do you have a 64-bit W7, or 32 bit? The latter is much more accessible with SWR. Also, I already had something like that. When I reinstalled on my laptop, it worked with models again. If I remember correctly, Slocket has done a fix to prevent-us from waiting for C3PO or IMP22 to finish their speech. What I do is start a game with either rebs or imps and save the game right after the speech. Or you could make yourself a coffee while he's speaking...
-
I finally got a decent computer: 4GB of RAM and an independent and decent graphic card. So it is not like I need more to run the game. Now I'd like to try to run the game with less process running background, if possible. Don't know how I'll do that though... And yup, trying to lessen the game menu graphical load may help. About the load issues, sins sort of freeze, but then the loading bar progress and the game starts. When the dump happens, it ain't gonna load at all.
-
Hello Lavo, I've got a serious MiniDump issue. I've looked and it seems the minidump gets saved in a folder. I looked in this folder and it says I had no less than 55 minidumps since I began testing. Apart from that back to menu thingy, I may get minidumps when I start the game and it does not get the time to get to the start menu (10% of the minidumps). Also, I have a lot of loading issues (more than 50% of the minidumps). Imperial march plays and suddenly, no more sound, loading screen gets freezed. Last one of these issue is when the game is running and then randomly freeze (about 30% of the dumps) with a minidump. This is making the testing process very hard and honestly, I feel this is ruining the experience. Am I the only one getting these dumps so often? I'd love to get an open source that makes the same thing than FRAPS, so I could show you what hell this is. But really, it is very frustrating and way too frequent. I doubt anyone would be patient enough to keep this on and on...
-
Yup, now it works. So this is not related to SVN releasing a new version/update?
-
I can't get SVN to reap the updates anymore. Everytime I press update, this message comes-up: Network connection closed unexpectedly Anyone can help?
-
I might be interested, but I'd also request some clear instructions for how to install this map pack for me and for others that might be interested
-
I don't want this to sound like a critic, but how is it an amelioration if Alpha had those maps working and Beta does not?
-
Okay, so IC's map are known issues. This makes thing easier. Let us start with Small maps: The maps you added are these: -Sith Space Defense: Working -Sith Space Invasion: W -The Centrality: Instant defeat (D) -Arkanis: D -SW Galaxy Lite: D In addition: I believe I got "Balance of power" to work though the pirates are dead. Interconnected work, if you feel like playing alone on one single planet and no way to get elsewhere. Are there any other maps you did on small? Could you list all those that you added? If so, I'll check which are working and which aren't much faster
-
Hello all, I seem to get a problem often: the start defeated error. It looks to me as if some of the maps just aren't finished. Today, I tried the map "Star Wars Galaxy Lite". I was defeated without doing anything, so I chose to "keep playing" to see what is this crap about. Turns out this map was empty. So I guess we should make a list of working map or one that lists which are not working/wip.
-
What is that "NU" you guys speak of?
-
Hey Lavo, what's up? You did not get time to add them to SVN?
-
Lemme know if you need another set of icons
-
Try this and tell me if this works. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?b6jyy37oyl4mmll By the way, you'll need 7-zip to open-it. I can also upload to zip or rar if you prefer...

I'll need you to send me an e-mail so I can send these to you. By the way, the defender SD is a pic I've seen loads of time. Just head to google image and type Defender Star Destroyer. You'll get either this: http://www.swagonline.net/files/images/1794.preview.jpg or that: http://www.anakinworld.com/images/encyclopedie/vaisseau-star-destroyer-defender-1.jpg There are other pics, but I prefer these. I'll try to upload the tga's somewhere, should you not want to send an e-mail to me.
