A couple of days ago I have installed Alpha Centauri again and got lost again. Instead of discovering new interesting games I am still into managing how to cope with rising sea levels and the concuring other empires who try to provoke me all the time. But my forces are much too strong for them. They got no chance at all.

Oh, yes, we lost another big actor of the good old generation. Cant see anybody at the moment who could reach his level. Definately a big loss. Actually Im happy with the big news coverage he gets. A couple of years ago I wittnessed a show where they had a 20 second clip reporting about Bob Hope getting 100 years old and right after that a 10 minutes coverage of Heidi Klum getting 30. I mean, hey, Bob Hope did more in his life than Heidi couldnt even achieve even if she could live four lifes, so that really sucked and made me angry. Wow! Incredible what happened in those few days the forum was down. The large hedron collider had some malfunctions and has to be taken down now for a couple of months because a generator broke down. Object in the right picture looks like a balloon. That one in the middle could be anything, maybe just a bird. Objects on the left, difficult to say without seeing the original picture. Maybe an odd cloud formation, a lens reflection or really something completely different. What I was about doing here was showing that some weird looking things indeed can be explained very easily. On the other side there are also people who try to explain everything away, even if such a thing can´t be explained. You already know all these explanations: weather-balloon, swamp-gas, flares or (newly added) chinese laterns. This is a Larry King Show recorded last year in November where he has some military wittnesses in the studio who have been closely engaged in the well researched "Rendlesham Forest" incident. This spring the british Ministry of Defense released their data which they had collected about their own UFO-research, including the "Rendlesham Forest" case. In this show there´s also an alleged scientists who trys to explain away those things these soldiers have encountered, although one of these men even touched that UFO they had watched for a whole while. It´s sadly enough that such kind of "scientists" try to ridicule seemingly reliable eye wittnesses instead of doing their own serious research. Ok its that date of the year again where our all thoughts are all about the victims of 9/11 and their families. One more reason to understand why these attacks happened and how they happened, to prevent us from being attacked by the same way ever again. Interestingly enough the todays featured movie on google-video is a presentation of an organisation which consists of architects and engineers who want to force another investigation about the happenings of 9/11 and present seemingly undeniable and convincing facts about why the twin towers in New York havent brought down by the two jets which crashed into those buildings: 9/11 Blueprint for Trueth Ok the presenter is not a showmaster you will surely recognise that. Hes just an architect. But his statements should be much more convincing than those of any kind of teenager who is talking about some conspiracy theories. The most interesting part of that presentation is IMO from the last 40 minutes on.

Yes! You always can try a repair-installation. This goes like you would do a new installation with one exception. First change your boot device from hard drive to CD, than restart again. After the restart the setup routine will start. After accepting the EULA the screen will appear which asks you which kind of installation you would like to proceed. 1. Press "Enter" for a new installation 2. Press "R" for a repair installation 3. Press "F3" to leave the setup. In this case you should press "Enter". After that another screen appears which asks if you would like to repair a former installation of WinXP. There will be the following options: 1. Press "R" for a repair installation 2. Press "Esc" to leave the setup. Now its time to press "R". After that you can choose the partition on which windows is installed and than your ready to go. The difference between a new installation and a repair installation is that settings and personal folders will be kept as well as previous installed programs, while you have to do everything again after a new installation. @Tex Above described propably could have also helped your old PC. Because there are not much Viruses around which can also have an effect to hardware.
