My mate at the Muppet Show: That hurts somehow.
-
Wasnt that movie in cinemas this spring/summer? Well it must have been a flop, because now it seems to be already in the public domain: Desaster Movie

Like mentioned I do like the tv show somehow and would like to make cards for that scenario/story. So this is what I am working at the moment: Commando Bots http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/4978/botcommandostb2.png Grievous Flagship "Malevolence" http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/4119/malevolencecapalternatepc5.png Dunno how this ship is called. Its obviously of corellian design, but have seen on one site on the net that this kind of ship was called "Mandragor" class ship/freighter, whatever. If anybody knows its name that would be cool. http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/923/mandragorcaprebds3.png One thing I got in mind is that because this show plays in a time prior to the battle of Yavin things shouldnt be that hard and advanced. So ships should be much weaker, slower with a much lesser number of turrets and a much lower armour value. Same with fighters. For example IMO the "Malevolence" should be the only ship equipped with Ion cannons, because at that time they were kinda very new and thus also very rare. This ship is about as large as an SSD and because they maybe hadnt had that much yards which were able to manufactor such a kind of large ship it needs a lot of ressources and should be hard to be built. I will replace it with the "Death Star" card. Because of that also the factories and yards shouldnt be that effective and also much more expensive. While on the other side troops like the common Battledroids are much weaker, but cheaper to build. But they are that weak that they really shall just be a threat if appearing in large numbers. On the other side the Clone Troopers are much more expensive, but more effective than common droids, but shouldnt be that hard as Stormtroopers. Because their training and equipment isnt that advanced.

Hm, knowing that there is a ship called "Star Galleon" which is much bigger than I assume that it could be seen as a frigate-class or a smaller galleon class. To my knowledge Ive only seen this type of ship in the SWR game and not in any other game before and after.

So your not content with the overall look of the whole forum, no matter if its blue, red or green? Wow, thats a lot to do than. Got anything specific in mind?

*Peeks into the newly integrated forum* Hi all. As a member of the SWR-Forum I want to welcome you all . Feel free to take part at our discussions in the General Board and in the Off-Topic Board. We always appreciate new faces. Well, Im not an artist of course, but meanwhile I made some graphic experiences so if theres any help needed, just give me a shot and I see what I can do.

LoL, Tex! If so than I would agree with leaving it now. This topic was about the US election and not about Iraq or anything else. The election is now finally over since more than a week and I hope that we all will be happy in some way with your choice. Peace and may the force be with you. One more thing to add: A good citizen is a critical citizen. At least in a democratic state. Dont ever see your presidents or chancelors as a kind of god who never ever does anything wrong. Especially if they do belong to your favoured partie. Allways watch closely what they are doing. Because after all, you are their boss and they have to work for you and not for any kind of corporate interest or selfishness or anything else! So if they dont do what the people want, than kick their butt at any time, at any place!

I could be wrong of course but I am pretty sure that Tofu didnt mentioned the Vietnam war to bring it in relation with the losses you had in the Iraq war and after. There cannot be any relation, thats right. But please dont bring up all those old stories of the 80s. Saddam used Mustard Gas 20 years ago against the Kurds. That was also one mentioned reason for Dessert Storm part I in `91. After that war he had to destroy all WMDs. Which has been achieved even as he threw out all UN inspectors. Till this day there hasnt been found any SCUD rocket equipped with WMDs. All which has been found were about a dozen of arty grenades with gas of some kind. But thats not what you can call a WMD. Did they found any SCUDs equipped with WMDs, ready to go to be shot against allies, than please give me a link about that report. Because than Ive missed something. Im always open for some new info. And, uhm, what was that? Youve got liberal media? Since when? Theyve always been with your president at all time. Since one or two years they start to ask some silent questions, which gives you hope that some day there will be maybe real investigative journalism again, like in the Watergate-era of the good old 70s.

Introducing Galen Starkiller from "Force Unleashed".....
Eagle replied to darthsteve1976's topic in RebED Cards
Nicely done, darthsteve. And welcome! Do I get that right? If we do mail our cards to you, you will upload it to the database, which isnt possible for us users since at least the great crash? Or do just want to have that card for your own? -
Its been a long time since an animated gif has been posted here. Too bad that Jahled is gone. I love that one! http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x13/architeuthis_2007/MrBean1-1.gif

Dear Tex, I beg you, but these are two different shoes IMO. The US troops and also other allied forces had to stay here in germany after WWII because of the feared heatening of the cold war. That war is already over, right, and because of that they should have already left german territory like the russians did, the britts, the french and the canadian already did a long time ago. The US troops are the only former allied forces who stayed here, because german ground became much more of strategic importance for the US military. Weve got of course the biggest military installations here outside of the US and maybe even bigger than anything you have in your own country. For example the NSA headquarters here in Germany is even much bigger than in your own country and there are good reasons for that for sure. At the start of Dessert Storm pt. 2 people here would have loved to see the US troops leaving because of our stance against that war and its illegality. Now they have to stay or otherwise they wouldnt be able to support their troops in the gulf region and in Afghanistan. I doubt that they will be able to pull out the troops of Iraq that fast, because like you both already mentioned, they have to finally enable the iraqy government to be able to protect its citizens on their own. The problem was and still is, which has been critized from the beginning of that war by many sides, but mostly by the french and german governments, but has been ignored, that the Bush administration had no plan about what shall happen with Iraq after the invasion has been achieved. I dont want to retell the whole story but we all know what kind of chaos there was soon after the victory and that they have put ordinary front soldiers in place to do police duties, who seemed to be kinda trigger happy and shot first before asking questions. So get your job finally done down there and let your troops being replaced by local forces and than pull out your troops. But I have no doubts that some US Forces will remain there. And if its just one or two carriers. Oh, Im sorry for the confusion. I used the wrong english word. I mean solidarity.
-
I recently heard something completely different from iraquie officials, that they would like to be responsible for their own now. Its also common knowledge that the iraquie people dont like foreign troops in their country (who would at all) and see them as occupying troops. BTW Im not quite sure about that, but according to the choice of words some of you use here Ive got the impression that some of you mistake socialism with solidarism. Thats not the same. Its pretty strange if not disturbing if you would view all other countries of the world as socialistic states. Theres nothing wrong with helping those who cant help themselves. Thats why we here in Europe have a health care which is based on solidarism(!). Think about that if you one day get seriously ill and cant afford important medication or a live safing OP.

Ha ha ha. Nice one, Tofu. Anyway, recover fast, Ian.

Yeah, like mentioned, its ok for a tv show. Normally I tend to not watch any kind of tv shows. But I like this one. Ive just expected much worse and ended up surprised in a positive way. Yes, the graphics are sometimes awesome, but on the other hand those figures walk as stiff as puppets. I dont get that. Maybe its just a refference to cartoons, maybe they were just short in time to use motion capturing.

Oh yeah, I heard it today. He was a genius in creating awesome futuristic stories and for me belongs to writers like Frank Herbert, Isaac Assimov and Ray Bradburry. One of my alltime faves is "Westworld". Fives stars from my side, Mad. Would Tofus idea help in any way? I will promote that video in other forums. Should get at least some more hits. Edit: Lets send some best wishes and prayers to our all favorite Emperor: Ian McDiarmid: Suspected heart attack

Haha, Tex. Pretty nice pic. No pics of your costume this year, Rob? Well you leave me a bit disappointed now, but not that bad. Looking forward to your next costume. Like said: theres always a next year.
-
Yeah, well, and I didnt expect anything good and was surprised. BTW I was talking about the Ewoks-Cartoon tv show and not those two movies. The cartoons were quite silly and thus propably just enjoyable for children.

Yesterday wasnt just an interesting election day, it was also the first time a moderator has been displayed live as a hologram: Pretty amazing!

Oh well, Halloween is over again and we hadnt had a chance to post all these silly little gifs of glowing pumkins and stuff, but well theres always another year isnt it. So how was your halloween-party? Looking forward to some of your party pics. Especially pics of Rob as the penguin. BTW here is a pic of Tex´ halloween party: http://static.flickr.com/64/156174627_7eec1778ff.jpg Now guess which one Tex is.

Was that really necessary, Tex!? Rob, unfortunately you are totally wrong. I won't get into (again) why the Electoral College is necessary, but I would definitely like to point out the majority of "today's voters" are NOT informed! Many just voted for Obama because he was "black", some because he was "new". I was sent an MP3 file from a radio show where they asked people "who you voted for"; but there was a catch ... they asked the "voter" what policies were Obama's best, then listed everything McCain was for (that Obama was really against). And even asked if Obama's choice of Palin for Vice President was a smart move. The "voters" agreed with everything (of McCain's) and said Palin would be great as Vice President. Very informed indeed; they don't know the issues or who's even running. What a bunch of dumb sheep! Oh well, there will always be these uninformed Joe Sixpacks or Joe Plumbers around who will always just vote because theres just one single thing they like or dislike. But I guess the majority of people was well aware of whos who and what they each stand for. If not exactly in detail. Anyway, no matter for which partie or candidate you have voted for yesterday, that doesnt really matter anymore. Because one thing is for sure, we all have been wittnesses of another important historical date in the worlds history. After centuries of slavery and racism the first black President of the United States has been elected! That means a lot. Not just for the people in the US. If you have watched the news today you also have seen that the whole world, including those so called villain states, put their eyes on you. After eight years of a presidency which was much more up to dividing, people now feel and hope that there will be a change for the good. You have overcome racism in your own country (just forget about that rather small number of looneys who tried to kill him for that moment) and finally you will be able to point with your finger to others and say that they also should follow your good example. Congratulations, America! May the american dream will come true for all of you again! http://www.cosgan.de/smiliegenerator/ablage/618/192.png

So meanwhile I had the chance to see the movie and some parts of the tv show and I have to admit I like it very much. Seriously, I never believed that this would be the case, but these cartoons are propably the best what happened to Star Wars since a long time ago... Director Dave Filoni did a pretty decent job and brought lots of fresh air to this saga but also managed to include all the old elements. It was just about time that GL is giving this project out of his hands and I wished that would have been already the case with the Prequels. With those rather lame Prequels and the silly 80s cartoon series like "Droids" and "The Ewoks" in mind, I watched these new cartoons and was surprised. And it wasnt even half that silly as I expected. I mean, it has to be silly to some extent, because its still a cartoon, so no problem about some stupid battledroids. I like those new characters, troops and villains which have been added to the saga and Im looking out for more. Yeah, Im even that excited about that series that I plan to make a whole new set of cards for it so people would be able to play all those characters of this tv show.

I also am glad to have the forums back, like already mentioned yesterday in the chatroom. I like those pictures added to each subforum, although those lotta links at one of those subforums looks pretty weird IMO. Dont know whats it all about, but anyway. Just tried if its finally possible again to upload custom-cards for our all beloved Rebellion, but its still not working. Are there any future plans to solve that problem? BTW thanks for your hard work, guys. Its much appreciating. Your doing a lot for the community in providing these forums. http://www.cosgan.de/smiliegenerator/ablage/618/186.png
