  1. ..I guess that's why Vitory Star Destroyers have those odd looking 'wings,' attached to their hull...
  2. Pucho 777....you got it one! Replacing the rather crap pictures in rebellion with similar movie clips would transform the game! I think with three movies covering the era of the game we've got more than enough footage to cover everything from system blockades (ie: Star Destroyers at Hoth), Systems take-overs (Sandtroopers on Tattooine), and Death Star planet-vamping (>obvious). I personally wouldn't have a clue how to do it myself...
  3. ...a failure?...As it stands, Rebellion/Supremecy may not have been the greatest of games, I guess it's continuing appeal, especially to the die-hards lurking around on this site, is the capacity for it's manipulation....modifying cards, and new models. The basic game engine with today's compter woh-har could be fantastic. Can you imagine tactical battles with something like a homeworld-engine? Character interaction with actors! Cut scenes replacing virtually every DLL! All that still with the adrenaline-rush of having twelve Star Destroyers and an Executor fully loaded with TIEs and Stormtroopers! I believe a revamped Rebellion is possible, and marketable. It's also the only game, aside from Jedi Knight, that doesn't keep crashing on my computer....
  4. The SSD never crashes into the Death Star during the game...sorry!
  5. ...Rah! Check out how wide my message is! Rah! ****Oh! Urgent message to all the herders east of Ulan Bator,Mongolia: Chiam Minsky's herd has just blocked the main road comming into town. Avoid. Central news agency advise going via the Gobi desert.****
  6. ..that could be seen as 'liberation,' wouldn't you think..................................................................................................................................................whooooo!!!............I'll scrap my George Bush Card idea and work on someone more vile, like.....eh....ummmmm..........ehhhh.............emmmmm............................................................ehhhhhhhhhhh..................................................................................................................................................................................ummmmmmmmmmmm..........................................................................................................ummm........................................................................................................................ummmmmmmmmmmmmm....................................ehhhhhhhh.................(etc.)
  7. ...there's also cut-scene of a failed Death-Star run with Y-wings...and, usinf Resource hacker, there's four different WAVE-files of rebel squadrons making the attack run, succeeding and failing. Now that's a thought. Personally, i've never had a battle against a Death-Star thats lasted long enough to see-in one attack run....they tend to blow very easily.
  8. The picture you're refering to is the 'legendry bounty hunters,' you can read about in the rebellion encyclopedia in the game. These chaps, computer controlled, result in the Empire being informed of; 'we have new information concerning Captain Solo,' and I presume a small random chance of him being kidnapped and being brought before Jabba the Hut. I have no idea whether once you've detected them though, as Empire or Alliance, you can manipulate their probability of success in their mission. They're never around long enough to 'play with.'
  9. ..oh, and I forgot to mention Agent Anthony Blair....a close personal aide of the Emperor, his darkness and evil knows no bounds. I'm working on the George Bush character card, but it's kinda hard to a) figure out if he's a rebel or an Imp, and b) finding a picture to use that can't be mistaken for a chimpanzee......and Rebellion international? Gosh, well i'm sending this from London, Mongolia. Big shout going out to all of us out here in Mongolia! Yo dudes! Don't forget to bring the herds in guys!
  10. ...and not just Vader or Palpatine, with RebED you can of course make anybody capable of detecting and training Jedi. In my current game my Imperial Cindy Crawford character has just detected Imperial agents Christy Turlington and Piers Brosnan as potential Jedi.....I'm sending her to Sullust to see if General Heidi Klum is a potential force-user. Those damn rebels should have agent Bob Dylan sensing their jedi-scum. (It's fantasy right?)
  11. Ok...try this: I *^%$£"*&^* hate 'licences.' Think of computer games and the ensueing appeal like being seduced by tobacco. They give you the flavor and the addiction; what the heck do they expect folks to do when their little craving isn't addressed? To hell with their authority on a product they don't give a dam about supporting for after five years. The internet was never intended to be a 'polite and consumer-friendly' additional marketing-ploy for corporations, despite what that tosser Gates is attempting to overshadow our lives with (and we hide real-life in our universe of Palpatine!). In being polite to our 'hosts,' (ie: Lucasarts) who do *uck-all in supporting Rebellion, we're achieving nothing. I can think of one update to the game, which did *uck all except if you speak Spanish. They expect the community to leave the game dead and untouched? Sorry, I get a little pissed-off with 'legal-authority,' from time to time. Point is; let's do we want!
  12. ..right...i'll right an angry email to Lucas books this afternoon demanding they provide what we require.
  13. Damn! The only picture I could find is on some Russian website (I think), it's the same one used on the cards in the database. I wish I could draw.
  14. There's a hint of the cut scene in the credits footage-the shuttle leaving the Death Star.
  15. One thing that's always bugged me about the whole Star Wars mythos is that in the original Star Wars book, the Imperial TIE-fighters were better than the 'antiques' attacking the Death Star. They had 'better lasers,' and 'better targetting-computers,' by definition of the Empire's new-order would have been more capable fighter craft than the has-beens of the rebels. Ok, shields and hyperdrives put aside, where did all the saved-expedidure go? 'Lets design and mass-produce a less-effective fighter to rule the galaxy?' Yeah right. The whole point of why the rebels took out the original Death Star was Imperial over-confidance, not inferiorty of fighter-class. The TIE fighter was, and should always have been in subsequent Star Wars comics/books the fearsom adversery George's first book originally made it out to be, not the clumsy piece of crap mass-culled without a casualty by rogue-squadron. The laser rating of 5 for the TIE is laughable in rebellion. Why would an Imperial commander describe the rebel fighters at Yavin as 'antiques,' when his own starfighters were a pale shadow in comparison? Sorry, but subsequent Star Wars spin-offs such as the Rogue Squadron stories have had it all a bit to easy for the realism to handle. Despite the rebellion's relaince on 'old and out-dated fighters,' no refelction of this is demonstrated in the game, where the modern, no hyper-drive TIE-fighters are completely out-gunned by the rebellion. Historians reckon that one reason why the Japanese lost WW2 is because they failed to retire fighter-aces to training-schools, thereby giving their expertise to new recruits; unlike the Americans, who did. In contrast, you cannot conquer a galaxy by adopting the same attitude. The Empire wouldn't have squandered fighter hot-shots in crap-fighters. They would have had the confidance in them surviving in the most modern, combat-proof fighters the galaxy had to offer.... and realistically expect a high-percentage to survive to train the next generation of front-line pilots. Had to get this off my cheast...
  16. Cool, well given they are according to Mask (was it?), i've just finnished Jedi Knight I again, but this time as a DARK KYLE!!! WoooH!! There's some pretty cool cut-scene footage of a shuttle landing on Coruscant at the end. With a bit of editing that would sure beat the picture of Palpatine 'returning to his throne,' wouldn't you think? Given the significance of having the Emporer on Coruscant (with the increase in leadership), I think the added cut-scene footage would be significant enough for inclusion. Not that i've got the slightest idea what you guys were originally on about. I don't have 'special access' to the original foram.
  17. Given the AI programming is so crap, you wont be troubled by another Death Star. Such is life. In three and..yawn..however many years it has been now, evan playing against the Empire with the Death Star set at 1/1, it has never rebuilt one. I guess something to do with the original programing. So enjoy your limited experiances with Death Stars....
  18. Say, your Sovereign model is actaully quite good. Nice one! However, i'm dubious to the extreme about your avatar. But heck, i don't even know know how to post my funky Stormtrooper. So I guess ignore my critical comment....
  19. Yeah right, it's not as if Star Wars Rebellion/Supremecy is right in there with information on Iraq or North Korea! The Game's been unsupported and deleated for ages now. I figured the swrebellion website was around for the die-hards who have a genuine love for the game. Where is there any scope for locked forums? It's not as if we're the Gnomes of Zurich or the Cosa Nostra. I'm actually amused to try and think what a select few could be discussing that's sensitive enough to warrant closed-forams. Makes us outsiders feel realy valued. Thanks guys.
  20. Upon reflection....I haven't a clue....
  21. Convert Latvia to the Empire of course. What a silly question. I look forward to seeing news pictures of parades of Stormtroopers marching through Riga on 'Empire Day.' Be just like old times...
  22. I sent you an email Good thing I run a transport firm!
  23. Ok,..LATVIA... assuming he responds to my email.
  24. Negative...given the game's been deleated, a copy of mine is on it's way way to Lativia...the dude's got to have a copy.
  25. I know there is..just...the picture isn't that good. But I will launch a thorough look tonight, once my mind is clear and Master Yoda has stoped throwing twigs and pebbles at me as part of my 'training.' [/url]
