M78's right. With resource hacker it is possible to modify the starfield for example; the the game's engine stops at 256 colours, so don't expect any Homeworld backdrops. If you go to the downloads section of this site you'll find a whole host of model replacements; most of which are simply awesome.

Fair be my friend! Some techno perhaps does deserve merit(who am I to judge after all!), but I personaaly don't like it period. French Rap; emm... I think rap largely died as a serious musical expression after it was hijacked by all that gangster crap. It never started off like that; even if you look at utter classics like 'Criminal Minded' by Boogie Down Productions(1987) and miss the point of what KRS One is saying... Now, if you really want a head trip into the unknown...listen to some Japanese rap...

Ahead?!? Techno is music's answer to the gutter. I cringe whenever I pass a radio set blasting out it's crap; am passed by a car blerting this crap out, or flick to a TV channel showing this rubbish. It's about as musical as the sound I make on the bog. For people with no taste, style, cool, or musical depth. Exercise your brain people, for god's sake!!!

Ok. I just figured out how Pucho shagged certain forums with his bad-tempered departure.... Anyway, i've taken the liberty of renaming this thread as to define it slightly. It started off as something completely different when the staff suggested rather than bombard the swrebellion front page with my internet-related discoveries, to post them on the forums; which we all have been doing. We've come across some real gems over the years and I would like to think this thread has added to our collective enjoyment of the Star Wars Universe with it's injection of said-humour. It's not by any means my own preserve btw; if you've got something Star Wars related that made you unleash a mouthful of tea on your monitor, whack it here! Let us briefly.......look back on some classics....

Right, well we asked LucasArts on the legal status of a project like this and I just got back an automated reply. So as far as i'm concerned they were contacted regarding the legal position and were to high and mighty to compose a civilized reply. Such is life. Igor, I don't know if you want to give it a go. I suggest pressing on with any plans; Lucas Arts obviously arn't interested in their loyal consumers.

The one advantage a project like this has is that the basic game-structure of Rebellion is so appealing(you get to rename and command Star Destroyers or Mon Cals; have control over characters, and wage your game in utter unique story mode basically how you want, which is an aspect of a SW game I can't think is available with anyother game). Soo, you're right JI in suggesting it might attract people from the larger SW gamming community... ...I'll see what I can script together with regard to contacting LucasArts over the weekend...
