  1. And the Death Star?
  2. So you finally have a Grand Admiral Thrawn!
  3. Moved it here, as it belongs more to a Gaming Story than a SW General Discussion one.
  4. They are as mysterious as some Leia waves...
  5. They had better colors for PC rather than the crappy Gameboy colors, but it's true if it hadn't hadd pathetic graphic it wouldn't have been Yoda Stories... Man I really miss that game.
  6. The Gameboy version of Yoda Stories, you have to do the scenarios in a particular order, and graphic are slightly better in PC.
  7. The introduction can't be skipped on any operating system after Windows 98. err...new messages not in bold....umm...not entirely sure they are in the first place; Rebellion isn't like outlook... Welcome btw... Escape key?Click? Works for me in XP I've that same problem... After a while you'll get used to it.
  8. Cutscenes will be tough as well! And the new models, making the three different Darktrooper versions, plus the locations, textures... It is hard...
  9. It looks great... ! But there are downloads, GA, there's 30 MB demo.
  10. I like the old Ben, because he is the old General believed to be a crazy man. But under all that eccentric appearance there's a man who saw much, and suffered much. Sure Vader/Anakin went from good guy, to lava-disposed baddie, but Ben was the one person who has the burden on his shoulder, he was Vader's master, and he failed him, to such an extent that he had to battle him and toss him into Lava. In ROTJ when he admits that his pride was the cause for all this. It takes courage to say that, even if you are a ghost. As Anakin said it in Episode II. "He is as strong as Master Windu and as wise as Master Yoda." And there's of course that he is taller than Yoda and doesn't look like a green blurp on the screen when he fights.
  11. Not that I know... The Compatibility Crap from Microsoft doesn't help and unless you had a windows emulator for a windows platform...
  12. Happy me, COSTA RICA 4 - Portugal 2 Gotta love olympic football! Now we're up against Argentina, and most likely will get our butt kicked out of Greece.
  13. I saw Pitch Black, but haven't seen Chronicles of Riddick as it has not been released round here.
  14. But it still won't run under XP. It was a fun game, though it only had 15 possible scenarios.
  15. That's the attitude I like. As the question had been answered numerous times, I'll lock the topic.
  16. OOC: Oh... At least I'll get to do something... Oh I've PMed a few questions to you. IC: Battle-claxons and whining sirens erupted immediately as the ship exited hyperspace. Thousands of thought exploded in his mind in matter of seconds. "Battle alert! Status?" Oreton asked masking his own surprise and distress. "We detect a GFFA fleet on Vector Seventy-Nine, multiple enemy contacts have left hyperspace behind them. Sensor profile does not match any known vessel." Another crewer informed from his position,"Sir, we are detecting massive energy readings." The communications officer called him from her position. "Incoming communication from the Laberynth" "Captain Yage?" Oreton said. "Admiral, most of the vessel is composed of Vagaari design," she informed cooly. "The three big cruisers, on the other hand, are totally different designs." Rapora, Oreton realized. "Thank you," Oreton said and cut the transmission off. "Open a channel to the ground." "Two minutes for range to the Vagaari vessel." The Captain informed. "Galactic Alliance ship destroyed, escape pods drifting to Nirauan. Justice for Freedom asks for assistance." Oreton did not move and focused on the communication panel. The Captain moved to his side. "We will not launch fighters?" "No, we may not participate here at all." Oreton snapped as the communications officer confirmed an open channel to the Nirauan Facility. "Niraruan, this is Admiral Oreton from the Imperial Star Destroyer Right to Rule. You have multiple enemy contacts converging, for a full orbital bombardment. How can we be of assistance?" A fragile yet calm voice answered him. "Parck here, not a Death Star could be of assistance right now, Admiral." "With all due respect, I have heard similar comments before, with the Yuuzhan Vong. In the end their own blindspots were turned against them." "You will not find any of those in the Vagaari with ease, much less in the Rapora." "A species so encased in violence and conflict must have significant weaknesses." "They are a species that gain strength from hatred, anger and fear, Admiral." Parck said. "I understand, sir. " "Then you know that you should not spend more time here." "Acknowledged Admiral. Lieutenant, signal Captain Orovassh for Plan Besh-Vee." Besh-Vee consisted in a strategy he had been told about in his early years, when he had been first interested in battle. An Interdictor is usually meant to pull things out of hyperspace, because of the mass-shadow it projected with the huge gravity wells. It was also possible to create the reverse effect, instead of pulling the Interdictor could push. Stellar Web could for a handful of seconds push the spearhead of the Vagaari formation away from their targets. The push could not be easily controlled, nor made to last long. Instead it would only distract his enemies while the Imperials made their move. "Besh-Vee confirmed." "Besh-Vee in progress." The officer reported, as the Vagaari spearhead borke out of formation as they struggled against the power of gravity. "Orovassh reports critical situation and requests for orders." The Captain reported on his side. "One of the Galactic Alliance warships has been destroyed, another was pushed into the enemy formation. One last vessel is starting its hyperspace run." "Transmit order to withdraw." Oreton dictated and moved closer to the communication console. "I regret not being a greater help, Admiral Parck." Oreton spoke with pain drifting in his voice. "I regret not having met you before, Admiral Oreton." Parck said. "Nirauan out." The transmission clicked off. The Captain moved to his side. Stellar Web and Stellar Laberynth have entered hyperspace." "Launch probes and move to the edge of the system and have cloaking device on stand-by." Right to Rule vanished into hyperspace and popped out in the edges of the system where it was visible only for a few more seconds, before it vanished under the impenetrable cloaking shield, where it observed the events that unfolded. Alone Oreton came to the realization that todays battle -no, not battle, rather withdrawal- was the same as the tactic he had executed, a delaying tactic. If he wanted, and had, to move against the Rapora and their allies and expect victory he had to understand how to battle them on a psychological level. Looking up Thrawn's notes on the Rapora he started his own analysis, as he reviewed the crystal-clear images he had obtained during todays battle. He let his analysts figure out fleet strengths, while he delved deeped in his analysis of a species that lived of violence and conflict, and of anger, and fear.
  17. Hm... If you're running XP you will have problems with Rebel Assault, it won't run, not even in Compatibility mode, also the game does not recognize USB gamepads/joysticks. X-Wing Collector's CD (Win 95 Edition)(you know it's this one if it includes a demos of X-Wing vs. TIE) should play correctly in any Windows platform, and Dark Force may or may not have problems with XP... Thrawn, TIE is a great game you'll enjoy it, though the sub-plot is kinda screwed up... I just noticed that there's a game missing from this list: Where's Yoda Stories!!!
  18. IIRC Episode I was nominated for best costumes and such stuff.
  19. Yeah, but it's like one of those Jesus Christ movies, one of the chars would start saying that God does not exist, but is rather an incredibly powerful alien being. You cannot try to explain something as mythic as the Force, with scientific arguments, it's just plain stupid, the Force as any other myths are sustained by Faith, not by small microbia called midi-chlorians or anything... Stupid George! He's just like a kid in a candystore, and knows not when to stop. I sometime feel that he did not work up the prequels... It seems that he just copy-pasted all the ideas he had tossed out while making the first trilogy and tried to tie them all together, but I do no think that he went through the same evolution-process that he did almost thirty years ago. And worse yet, there was no Kurosawa movie to inspire him on Episode I, and he probably lost his copy of the Hero of Thousand Faces when he came up with Anakin...
  20. The elderly Admiral looked at the young man, who had come closer. The face of the man was remarkably familiar and the comment on his father was all he needed to know. "You are Baumer's son?" The Admiral broke in a warm booming laughter. The laughter had a contagious effect on the younger man who could not help but laughed lightly as well. "How is your old guy? It must have been centuries since I last heard of him." He looked at the happy expression in the young man. "Few tales?" and Noreto continued to laugh. "I also have a few tales of your father, you put him in his flightsuit in any TIE and he'd vape half a squadron in a single battle! But if you had him in dress uniform, marching down the Grand Alderaanian Pavillion he was as defenseless and uncomfortable as a young Jawa on Hoth." Noreto turned to the bartender who immediately filled his drink and spotted Grand Admiral Thrawn. "Ah, Thrawn you have decided to inspect and analyze the decorations of cantinas in case there will be a war against bartenders?"
  21. "Sir," an alert young officer called from the communications center. Oreton had stood gazing at distant stars. From the quietness of the crewers in their pits, and the calm yet fearful tone in the officers tone Oreton knew that what he had feared and expected had finally materialized. "Sir," the officer locked gaze with the Admiral. "We have a weak and distorted signal from the Unknown Regions, it seems like an emergency call." The officer played it and Oreton could distinguish a few panicked voices, and barely articulated words, the rest was dissipated in the hiss of static. "Can you boost the signal?" "No sir, if not for Fortress's special capabilities we might not have picked it up at all." "Run a noise reduction, or whatever enhancement you have." "I just did, sir." The officer said and busied himself on a few panels. "Coming now." ". . .We . .re . . der attack. . . hosti . . ships. . . This i . . Ioor. . . . . . . . Our fleet. . . . . . eavy loss. . . . . . . powerful . . . . Plasma . . . . . Withdrawing . . . . Nirauan . . . . . . . . peat. . . " Oreton was silent for a few more seconds. "Lieutenant, signal the fleet. I will talk to them in my command room." Oreton walked calmly into the secondary bridge which was his command room. Immediately the figure of the Captains of the nine vessels under his command materialized. "We have intercepted a distress call from a Galactic Alliance fleet in the Unknown Regions. They have withdrawn to the Nirauan system. I have decided to wait for them there, to lend assistance and to obtain information. Captain Yage: Stellar Laberynth will join me in this mission, Captain Orovassh," Oreton locked gazes with the Yagai in command of the Interdictor Cruiser. "Stellar Web will also join me to the Nirauan mission, Captain Dorja until my return the fleet will be under your command. If you detect the presence of the attackers nearby do not engage them, withdraw if necessary and put a call to Grand Admiral Pellaeon. Captain Levarkoh, Fortress's communications team shall monitor any transmission in a range of ten lightyears, dispatch probes and scout teams at your discretion. Anything should be recorded and analyzed, even if it only is static." Oreton shut down his connection to all commanders but Yage and Orovassh. "We will depart as soon we are in formation, have starfighters in battle-readiness." In less than three minutes three arrow-head shaped vessels vanished into hyperspace.
  22. Actually it was me who posted it, just click here to read it If you really want news about new book releases theForce.net's books Section is the best.
  23. There is: Pre-ANH Roleplay (that one is about to end) Vathinor Crisis Escape from Bespin Rapora Wars (based on Stellar's Magic ficticious Rapora) Hidden Agenda And there's the Cantina, which is not exactly a Roleplay... Just a place for our Roleplay chars to have a drink. If your idea is good, start one and you might have people joinng the story.
  24. Darac Noreto descended calmly into the cantina, the smoke and the definitely alien atmosphere overwhelmed him. Today he was not an Imperial Admiral, today he was only one among millions of being that went into a cantina for a drink. His demeanor imposed respect, but a respect that flowed from the aura of experience, he knew despite the hatred directed at him, that no one would date to attack him. He moved to the bar and tapped the bar tender. "Undarian Adkov," the bartender grumphed and went to the end of the bar to prepare the drink and give it to the human. Noreto, enticed by some special adaptation of Sabacc moved to the game table.
  25. OOC: Of all places did you have to write that here? There's a RPG Discussion thread somewhere else. IC: I'll write something up later, to get the pre-battle started...
