  1. That's what amphistaffs are for...Threatening innocent bystanders and coercing Lucas into doing my bidding...
  2. to ME!!!! It's my 19th birthday!!!!! I wanted to celebrate it here with you, plus I want a present from any member who is active on the forums!!! (Though I wonder if that won't reduce activity here )
  3. I'd be sincere with him I'd congratulate him for what he has done. The Force and the fantastic-mythic hue applied to sci-fi has been great. But I'd tell him that he has screwed up some things, and criticize some of his worst decisions. And tell him to approve a little something called Rebellion II... Ah and hire the SWR.N Community as the Creative Department of that game...
  4. Sangre Azul - Tal como soy
  5. Interesting, our prisoners live in infrahuman conditions. But they make it up with ingeniuty... One guy smuggled about 8 cell phones into his cell and extorted people outside from within his prison cell, and some are good friends with the guards so they get many commidities inside...
  6. If you read the first few pages of this thread you'll find that the ranks here are in a wrong order and that there's a mix-up between naval, army and starfighter ranks.
  7. And the fighters... Probably a whole new design just to fit their tails in...
  8. Just as a comment: Jahled's no U.S. American, he's a brit. And a reminder: There's an entire continent called America, so everyone from Canada down to Chile are American, not just the overblown egos from the USA.
  9. I had pictured them walking more erect and with a shorter tail, but it's still terrifying...
  10. IIRC Barkoa was already in there, there's Darky, Mad, you and me. BS was waiting for a chance to drop in... Just give them a chance... WIth the other RP ended they'll have to move... Fishface can also be in as a Mon cal or something.
  11. OOC: Very long but it's cool to read... Can't wait for Csilla, though I'll need to patch up Right to Rule.. I'll assume Stent's alive so I have someone to talk to. IC: The impact had been massive, the entire ship had shuddered as the orange salvo had impacted on the Star Destroyer. A gunship-sized crater marked the place. "Confirmed, last transport in." Ugorai reported. "Second Raporan Cruiser in range." "Hyperspace now." For a single heartbeat everything seemed to slow down, every member of the bridge crew held their breath and then exhaled as the stars merged into the diffuse shapes of hyperspace: They were alive. Admiral Oreton looked at his captain. Ogurai was smiling, it was the wan smile of a man that had just dodged death. "Status report?" "A destroyed shield generator, the loss of our sensor domes, and seventy-five of our eighty turbolaser batteries, total ion cannon loss. Four Missileboats and thirteen TIE Defenders survived, we lost all our assault transports and the Elite's Assault Shuttle." "The evacuation convoy?" "We recovered most of the personnel, our only confirmed loss is Admiral Parck's shuttle." Ugorai finished and Oreton closed his eyes. "How long before we reach Imperial Space?" "About sixteen hours to the Taskforce, another twentyfour for Morishim." "Give the bridge crew twelve hours of rest, technicians and engineers will start making repair, I'll want at least half our batteries functional when we reemerge from hyperspace. Find me the highest-ranking Chiss and send him to my command center." *** In the solitude of his command room, we watched the battle over and over again. He looked at it expecting an answer to an unasked question. All those deaths, all those brave men and women who died. Admiral Parck among them. A short sound indicated that a man was at the entrance of his command room. "Enter," Oreton pressed a knob on his command chair to unlock the door, and a Chiss entered. "You are the one called Stent?" "Yes." The Chiss said and moved before the Admiral. "I am sorry for Admiral Parck's loss," Oreton said. "He served Syndic Mitth'raw'nuruodo's Phalanx, he knew he would meet his death serving him, as all of us will." Oreton knew of their loyalty to Thrawn, they refused to believe in Thrawn's death. And if all the stories of the Grand Admiral were true, then Oreton, too, would have believed that he lived. Pellaeon, Oreton knew, believed in some extent. "How much of the Nirauan Databanks were saved?" Stent's face remained frozen. "Less than sixty percent, fortunately most of the Special Files survived. Unfortunately only Thrawn has access to those files." "I understand. Have you battled the Raporan before? What can you tell me of their arsenal? Was this a task force of considerable strength or just a small one?" Oreton asked changing the subject. The Special Files were the only important at the moment. Stent told him all he knew of the Raporan, which was not much. A few complementary comments on their technology and some vague hints of their social structure, and the confirmation of their Force-Awareness. OOC: Debriefing is left for next time...
  12. OOC: Now if Antilles could fix his computer and log back on SWR we could end our Jedi stuff and close this one definitely...
  13. I must say I really like this RP, so I'd encourage anyone to join in, I'm busy with my two chars, especially the Imperial one has been overly cool to write about.
  14. I've two favorites:The Simpsons, and Seinfeld. When I was a kid, I really like the A-Team and Knight Rider...
  15. They are much in the situation described by GL in the ANH Novelization prologue for the Republic. The Episodes I, II, III are moved by the momentum from the Original Trilogy, they originals passed beyond the admirable and attained the awesome, and now the newer episodes are prey to the massive organs of marketing and merchandising. I believe, that Lucas did not undergo the depuration of the prequels as carefully as he did with the originals, nor did he do as much research, it feels as if he only glued all the leftover ideas he had from making the Original Trilogy and mixed them with his conception of the prequels. It might have helped him to watch some Kurosawa movies before making Ep I or even re-reading The Hero of Thousand Faces, as Anakin is supposed to be the antithesis of the Campbellian hero. And if we complained about Jar-Jar in Ep I, there's supposedly be a really 9yr-old-class-joke in Ep III by Yoda this time...
  16. OOC: I'm gonna end my Noreto-part here, I'll loan BS's, and Darky's char for a few phrases or actions. He was not a brawler yet he had taken down a dangerous smuggler, he was not a pilot but he would not hesitate to take control of the vessel. Darac Noreto took a seat in the cockpit of the ship and allowed himself a few seconds to understand the layout of the controls. Communications and sensors on the left, stick and weapons in front, nav-computer on the right, along with energy controls. He took the stick and manuevered to evade the TIEs with some success, he knew that the freighter that had driven Chimaera off the battle must be a hot target. He reinforced shields, thus reducing the energy output for weapons. He pressed a button coded to the Rebel frequencies and checked the assigned codename. With slight effort he modulated his voice to sound much like Dally's. Obviously human, smug and arrogant. "This is Junk Leader, I have TIEs all over me. They probably didn't like me blowing their flag." Noreto said hoping to fool the Rebels. "Rechtmann here, congrats on that kill, we are coming." The man said. And Noreto smiled at the irony of the situation, the greatest Rebel pilot forced to save the Imperial Admiral. The man, which rumors suggested had a personal vendetta with the Admiral. Still smiling the Admiral continued to evade, waiting for the Rebel fighters to arrive and started to plot a hyperjump. He had now a familiar understanding of the controls, and even found an interesting gadget that he could use. He heard a few noises in the back but knew he could not leave his position to check for Dally, by now the poison would have numbed his legs and arms. Dally at best would be unconscious. Even if Dally was alive he would be in no position to fly the ship. So Noreto was still safe. Noreto continued to draw away from the furball. "Avenge Naritus," Rechtmann voice exploded in the cockpit, as his X-Wings started to shred the TIEs behind him. The name echoed in Noreto's head, the small world of Naritus that he had been forced to subdue, shortly after the Emperor's crowning. An assignment nor he nor Dodonna had agreed, nor considered moral, but had to be done, it had resulted in a complete annihilation. A son of Naritus. Rechtmann's vengeance was justified, but Noreto had no time to worry about the moral issue behind the battle. A hiss was heard and a new blip materialized in the sensor board. His escape pod had been launched, a human lifeform on board. Dally had escaped, he had dragged himself to the escape pod, knowing perhaps that it may be safer to risk his life in an escape pod rather than sticking with the Admiral in the freighter. "Your tail is clear, Bad Samaritan, will you regroup?" Rechtmann asked. A light ignited on his board: hyperjump plotted, ready to execute. "Bad Samaritan what is that escape pod, another bomb?" There was a nervous hint in Rechtmann's voice, fear and suspicion. "I thank you for your assistance, General. Inside the pod you will find the smuggler, finally you have killed me there is no Empire for me, what your lasers could not do your fierceness did. You have avenged the death of Naritus. Noreto out." With the nudge of his left thumb he shut the communication off and with his right hand he activated the aft thermal detonator launcher. He launched all the objects at once. The Detonators exploded igniting some frozen hydrogen. A flash of light momentarily had blinded all sensors, his and the Rebels, but Noreto did not need them, he lowered a small lever. Noreto had entered hyperspace. In hyperspace with the revolving shapes as his solitary company, the Admiral -no, former-Admiral- started to plot a new course for his life. A Life without Imperials or Rebels, without immoral orders, and personal vendettas. A simple life, a family maybe. A son, a small home in Alderaan. Soft tunes provided by Dally's wide selection of music resounded in the cockpit as the Bad Samaritan moved through hyperspace. OOC: Finished my Noreto part of the story. Battle's left for you guys.
  17. It'd be too banal for Dark Sith Lords to be interested in the money, their only pursue is power. The Armies, Republic and Separatists are the only a way for Sidious and Tyranus to obtain the necessary power in the galaxy. Dooku serves Palpy, much as Vader later does, so if Palpy tells him to start a war, he'll do so.
  18. OOC:Long battle, and an overly frustrating one... IC: "Confirmed eight Missileboat losses," Captain Ogurai muttered under its breath. "The greatest starfighter of the Empire met its match, finally." Oreton uttered. "Pellaeon will kill me for this," he told himself, or he will thank the Rapora for doing it. The four surviving Missileboats, fortunately among them their commander, had started to withdraw from the furball. Using their SLAM overthruster they left the Raporan fighters behind, as the TIE Defenders had done so earlier, keeping closer to the Right to Rule hoping their gunners would score a hit against them. The Vagaari group was hesitant to engage Right to Rule, after a few of their cruisers had perished. But they were not important, not now. Not with the Raporan Cruisers closing on them. "Four minutes until their first cruiser is in range. Five for their second one." "Start moving us out of the hypermass of Nirauan, vectoring towards or hyperjump point. Anything from the surface?" "We've reading multiple evacuation vehicles lifting from the Fortress. Profiles suggest it's mostly Delta Transports, Lambdas, other Chiss Designs and an unidentified vessel." "The unidentified vessel bear GFFA markings." The Captain complemented. "The Jedi." Oreton decided. "Send the Missileboats to shoot down any potential threat to the convoy. ETA for the convoy?" "Three minutes." An officer informed. "How many Raporan volleys can we take?" Captain Ugarai asked, reading the Admiral's mind. "One will cause almost total system failure, two and we'll be atoms in space." The officer informed. "Sir?" The Captain turned at the Admiral. "We hold, and hope that one blast won't hurt us as badly as I fear." Oreton dictated.
  19. That's what the IRC channel is for...http://irc://irc.swcic.net/swrebellion You may need an IRC client for it.
  20. Found this on theForce.net... Forrest Thrawn Teenage mutant Ninja... He has a name, he has a number
  21. How did we allow this thread to sink into oblivion? Scath what happened to the new ranking system? Since it was never implemented would you at least write down how it was supposed to be?
  22. "Partial shield loss in the engines section," Captain Ogurai reported. "The Assault Transports report that they cannot intercept all the Raporan torpedoes." "TIE Defenders report losses, but confirm the withdrawal of Vagaari fighters. Raporan fighters picked fights with Defender Squadron Gamma." "Scouts report that one of the Raporan Cruisers has started to turn around the planet, it'll be here in about ten minutes." Noreto nodded. "Reports from the surface?" "Nothing from our Elites, sensors confirm that there's a battle down there, now in the immediate vicinity of the Fortress." "Signal TIEs to fall back to escort positions around Right to Rule, captain plot an exit vector, for our escape. And," pointed at the communications officer," open a channel to the fortress." The officer nodded. "Open." "Noreto here, one of the Raporan Cruisers is moving around the planet, it will be here within ten minutes, you have that much time to escape to Right to Rule." "Understood, Parck out." "Launch Omega Squadron. Instruct them to launch warheads at the Raporan fighters." Oreton ordered, with a heavy sigh. The captain relayed the order and another starfighter squadron entered the battle. But it was not an usual squadron, it was not even a TIE Design, nor was it composed of Preybirds. Oreton considered it fitting that this squadron should participate in a battle against Thrawn's enemies. One of the Empire's few and absolutely secret Missileboat squadron, started their run against the Raporan fighters. For the selected elite that knew of the Missileboat, it had been the ultimate starfighter. During Palpatine's reign, it had not been incorporated because it's design was not Imperial, it was an adaptation of the Cygnus Gunboat with a slight touch of Chiss aesthetics. Oreton allowed himself a smile. Fitting. "Signal all the remaining Defenders to regroup around the Omegas, they will shield them." Dozens of advanced concussion missiles streaked towards the Raporan Fighters that were surprised by the speed and the armament of the Missileboat. Oreton spotted a handful of explosions in the distance. "Seven Raporan Fighters destroyed," the alleviated captain said and there was a murmur of hope in the bridge. "Instruct Missileboats to fall back, they are not to get too far from the Star Destroyer, nor get within the hypermass shadow of the planet." Oreton ordered. Looking at the officer sitting at the sensors station that observed the ground, the Admiral grimly decided that now he only had to wait.
  23. The Jedi know everything about withdrawing money... Master Yoda walks into the Headquarters of the Intergalactic Banking clan. BANKER: What can we do for you in this wonderful morning? YODA: Tranfer money to my account, you will. BANKER. Transfer money to my account, I will. YODA: 1-00930-1231-54220. BANKER: 1-00930-1231-54220. YODA: How much should you transfer? BANKER: How much should I transfer? YODA: Transfer half the Republic's education budget. BANKER: I will transfer half the Republic's education budget. YODA: And Dooku's accounts you will freeze. BANKER: And I will freeze Dooku's accounts. YODA: Good afternoon. Have a nice day. BANKER: Good afternoon. Have a nice day. I don't think the real Sifo-Dyas had anything to do with it, I think it was Dooku with funds from his separatist group that ordered the clones, after all Dooku did not care if they won or were defeated at Geonosis, all he was interested was in starting a war.
  24. Zsinj has a holograhic appearance in Wraith Squadron, and is a character in Iron Fist, Solo Command and the Courtship of Princess Leia. The Rogues are loosely followed through out NJO, especially Stackpole's and Allston's books deal with them. Allston retakes the Wraiths for the Coruscant mission in his Enemy Lines Duology.
  25. Depends on what region of the 3rd World you look at. Most Latin-America was historically ripped off by Europe, the 20th Century we've been ripped off by the U.S., my guess it's that the 21st will be ripped off by China... Oh well.. BTW, lower the tone guys. Or I will close this thread.
