  1. Not really... Del Rey dropped the whole X-Wing Series, when they got the publishing rights. So there's little hope for a book. Since Allston will write some SW books, perhaps he'll be asked to write an e-book or a Insider Short Story. In a mail he told me that he did have some ideas for what the Wraiths were up to between the Zsinj Campaign and the Coruscant mission.
  2. Evaders is also the main webmaster at SWSimulation.com, an online RPG-Community. But with more members there's a statistically higher chance of getting more people to work in our TC.
  3. CONGRATULATIONS SWR FOR A COTINUOUSLY GROWING COMMUNITY!!! Though many people have come and gone, there are always new faces that will stay here and share the fun in the forums with the older ones. Congrats and thanks for all of us that make the community as cool as it is.
  4. OOC: Sorry for the late response BS... IC: The Core of the Rebel Formation lay open to him, behind him other Star Destroyers were steadily advancing, blasting Corvettes and Frigates as they continued onwards. The defensive sphere formation meant to contain the onslaught of the Imperial Fleet was broken. Even with the reinforcements that had arrived the Rebels had almost certainly lost the battle, with fresh TIEs taking over for the battle-worn ones they had regained much superiority against the rebel bombers and freighters, and the TIE Advanced squadrons had already engaged, despite their first loses at the hands of the A-Wings missiles they had engaged and confirmed the destruction of few new A-Wings and of several X-Wings. Tarkin was only waiting for a mere signal, he would bring a dozen more Victory Destroyers and two Imperial Star Destroyer plus three more squadron of TIE Advanced, essentially most of their TIE Advanceds had been called for this battle. Still Noreto could not call for Tarkin, not while a particular vessel hung in front of him, the only barrier that stood in the path of his vessel. Dodonn's command. Noreto had no consideration for the Rebels, they were an annoyance that needed removal. But Dodonna had joined them, was there something else behind their cowardly tactics? They were nothing else than a pirate group with political ideals. Their were not revolutionaries, they were Rebels. Still Dodonna was ready to sacrifice his life for them, the life that the Empire wanted to take away from him. The Empire. The Empire was not the Republic he had served truthfully, the Empire had been a service he had inherited, he had received condecorations for his service, but they seemed void now, without any real feeling behind them. He respected Dodonna more than the Emperor, he could not bring himself to attack him, and it was his ship the one that stood between the Empire and total victory. "Relentless ask for confirmation of orders, Judicator asks for orders, Nemesis reports target destroyed, requesting orders." The officer asked, and Noreto knew not what to respond, he stood for two eternal minutes watching the battle rage in his holoprojector. "Transmission incoming from Vengeance," the officer insisted louder this time. Noreto removed himself to the transmission center and looked at one of the panels. "Noreto here." "Chimaera has lost its position, Relentless, Nemesis and Judicator have not received new orders, is everything under control, Admiral?" "No sir, I am unable to continue my duties." Noreto said and his words felt heavy with frustration and confusion. "The Empire will consider this as betrayal, remove yourself from command." Thrawn dictated and Noreto knew that his career had ended, the Emperor would trust Thrawn and Noreto would be sentenced to death. But Noreto did not move from his position and returned with decision to his chair and started to give out orders. "Signal TIE Fighters to be-" "Incoming!" A panicked officer said. By reflex Noreto turned to see, and could spot the shape of a Corellian Transport close to his ship, and knew it had to be Dally. Trembling in anger he hit a button on his armrest, a signal that would activate the secondary programming coded into Dally's personal astromech. The droid would take out a needle with deadly poison, and the smuggler would meet his end. A second passed and a white flash blinded him. A shockwave killed his hearing for a few heartbeats until panicked voices started to scream in unison. "Shields, tower section at 0 percent, we are losing hull integrity rapidly. Secondary Command Room in fire and venting atmosphere." "All bridge personnel to the escape pods," Noreto ordered, "transfer control to the secondary bridge. Instruct Captain Deran to withdraw Chimeara from the front." The Admiral started to walk away. Weak and confused the Admiral moved to his personal escape pod, he entered and jettisoned the pod. Only in the cold space did he realize how everything had changed for him. Out here in the solitude of his escape pod could he comprehend the battle around him, only there did he understand Dodonna's actions. Only there did he come to the conclusion that he did not serve the Empire any longer, he only served the Galactic Republic and the Royal House of Alderaan. Noreto knew that he would be reported as missing and had a chance to start again, and return to his homeworld. Then something cut through his thoughts with devastating effects. He had been caught in a tractor beam. Outside there was only the distinct hull shape of a particular Corellian Transport. His nemesis had come to kill him, and had decided that evaporation in space was not what he deserved. Noreto breathed and waited. Finally the lock steadied and the pod was docked, with a hiss of air the airlock opened.
  5. Yep, but they were assigned to Starfighter Command, then after the Zsinj Campaign they were assigned to Intel were Cracken could get to order them around, and leave WEdge alone for a few years...
  6. "We've lost our Sensor Domes," an officer reported. The modified freighters had scored to direct hits to them, thought it had cost them dearly. "Incoming torpedoes," the officer reported. "Shields absorbed the damage, we are down to 25 percent in the bridge section." Noreto nodded, the damage dealt to Chimaera was considerable, but he expected the battle to slow down a bit, most of the Rebel Fighters had already spent their proto torpedoes, the Y-Wings were returning to their command ships, to reload or refuel. The freighters had already spent theirs on the attack on the frigate and the attack on the Chimaera and were now engaging one of the Carracks. Chimaera had destroyed a handful of Rebel Frigates and some of the Corellian Transports, two Corvettes had wdrawn away, refusing to engage Chimaera. With the outer layer of their defense formation destroyed Imperial Destroyers and Cruisers were taking shots at the Calamarian Cruisers. "Recall Alpha Squadron, and send out Gamma Squadron, order them to remain within range of the Chimaera's turbolasers. Signal all Chimaera Group to start rotation of their fighter squadrons." Most Imperial commanders, blinded by their delusive ideas of their inevitable supremacy, trusted that sheer starfighter superiority would win them a battle, Noreto had learned only that send many TIEs against the Rebels only resulted in chaotic dogfights, were the Rebel Fighters obtained more targets. With the rotation he assured himself the possibility to send out fresh fighters into the battle. Now without torpedoes most Rebel Fighters from X-Wing, Y-Wings, Z-95 and the single squadron of that particular design should be more vulnerable. Chimeara maneuvered to provide some cover to their launching fighters that broke in trios to focus on the Rebel X-Wings that hung around the more important Calamarian Cruisers. Noreto analyzed the battle, the rotation of two squadron had brought new fresh fighters into battle, so the small-craft battle should start favoring the Imperials. Thrawn's Vengeance Group were in position around the shipyards, battling the small Rebel Force that had been reinforced by the planetary fleets from the poles. Chimaera now ventured into the center of the Rebel defensive formation, finally within range of Liberty. But one ship troubled him, Hero of Commenor hung behind his aft, exchanging fire with some of the Victory Destroyers. The man in command of Hero of Commenor, had commanded Victory Destroyer for a long time, and knew perfectly the tactics such vessels could do. Noreto shook the thoughts on Jan Dodonna away, and focused on opening the defensive gap further, Relentless and Judicator had already moved and incinirating corvettes and frigates fled from the oppressive fire of the Imperial Destroyers. Finally Noreto located the Freighter Group. Several klicks away and knew that Dally on his Bad Samaritan must have saved a few more torpedoes to toss at him. But Noreto too, had the thumb on the trigger.
  7. He's in a "Chewbacca-Situation", he won't get the medal...
  8. The key to your success is the Ctrl-Key...
  9. Games are considered canon, other wise Coruscant actually would be in the Sesswenna sector... As for Qui-Gon I don't see him ordering the clones, as much as he broke with the system, he wouldn't have done such a thing, he was a JEdi after all.
  10. Where did you get that from?
  11. The Syfo-Dias was a real person, a real Jedi everyone knew him, then he died under circumstances unknown. Dooku & Palpatine took advantage of the situation and usurped the dead Jedi's identity to place the order. Jango, we know, met Tyranus and had him become the templet. Dooku was obeying Palpatine's orders at the time, so that within ten years of the Naboo thing, Palpatine had his grand army ready when he needed it.
  12. It was Dooku who did that, Dooku was the one who approached Jango in the moons, of who-knows-where and sent him to Kamino. So is Dooku Syfo-Dias? Other said that the original script said Sydo-Dias... From Sydo-Dias to Sidious there isn't a great difference...
  13. True... The Geonosis scene was overly stupid, and Threepio I'm naked commentary in Ep. I wasn't that bright either.
  14. "TIE Scouts indicate that a group of Vagaari Vessel are orbiting the planet to intercept us. A squadron of Raporan fighters have joined them," the Captain informed with precise words. "Decloak, prepare to launch fighters and Assault Transports." Oreton commanded glacially calm. "Transmission from the Hand," the communications officer reported eagerly. Oreton rushed up to the console where a blue-skinned humanoid appeared on the monitor. "Admiral, Jedis Skywalker and Jedi are pinned down in a ravine. They require assistance, that we cannot provide, I will transmit the coordinates." The Chiss disappeared and a string of coordinates was handed over to the Admiral. "Launch Assault Shuttles to the surface, send our the Elites." Oreton commanded. The Elites were a group of stormtroopers that had excelled during the war against the Vong. Once known as the 303rd Batallion, they had simply become the Elites. They had driven off an army of Yuuzhan Vong warriors on Morishim, thanks to the combined use of valuable tactics, shear strength and intelligence. On Bastion and Yaga Minor they had seen similar combat situations. They could be easily told apart from the the standard stormtrooper because of their black body armor and the lack of the typical stormtrooper helmet. Instead a shorter helm protected their upper craneum and a transparisteel visor covered their face down their nose. A few people called them a modern revision of the old cloned ARC Troopers, other just referred them as Force-less Jedi. If anyone would get the Skywalkers out of their situation it was them. In the holographic display he could see his remaining TIE Defender and Interceptor squadrons form up before the Right to Rule, and the Assault Transports form a perimeter. In the reviews of Raporan tactics he had seen their efficient use of warheads against capital ships, the bombs were much more powerful than heavy Proto Torpedoes, but lacked their speed. The ion and laser armed Assault Transports should be in a position to intercept most of them, or at least relay the telemetry data to the Gunners who'd try to kill them with the Right to Rule's Missile Launchers. "Assault Shuttle has sighted the Jedi and is moving to rescue." The communications officer reported. "Vagaari ships in range, opening fire; first salvo of Raporan Bombs intercepted their fighters have broken formation. TIE Defenders Gamma and Omicron in pursuit, TIE Interceptors have moved towards the Vagaari vessels." The Right to Rule hung in space exchanging fire with the Vagaari vessels. A few explosions spread through some of the smaller enemy frigates. Oreton quietly thanked Pellaeon for equipping Right to Rule with some of the Hapan designed Turbolaser grid, that outperformed standard Imperial equipment at a rate of twenty percent. Oreton continued to observe the maneuvers of the Vagaari ships, and the rotation of his own frienly perimeter vessels, and the veritiginous chase between the Rapora and his TIE Defenders.
  15. Chimaera darted ahead of its Task Force, behind her Judicator, Death's Head, Devastator, Ironhand and Relentless moved towards the Rebel formation. Thrawn's Vengeance Group steadily advanced at the shipyards now apart from the main Rebel Fleet that formed itself to repel the onslaught of Chimaera. The fleets at the northern and southern pole were still minutes away, as were the likely reinforcements to come from the nearby systems, namely the group of Sullustan pirates. In a similar fashion Governor Tarkin had assembled a back-up fleet on the planet Eriadu, his throneworld in the Outlier Region. "Instruct Bloodbath and Sorrow to move up to our starboard flank and exchange fire with that Light Calamarian Cruiser." Noreto commanded. The two Victory Destroyer obeyed their instructions, and fired on the Oridian, multiple explosion marked the spots where the turbolasers had fired after the Oridian's shields failed. Rebel Starfighters drew away from the Rebel Core Group, choosing to drive the TIEs away from the important cruisers. "Signal Iota and Gamma Groups to follow X-Wings," Noreto commanded. A young officer whose name he did not know acknowledged and relayed the message to the communication officer. Both Pellaeon and Deran were absent, Deran was busy in the Secondary Bridge, directing the cordination between Chimaera and her support craft following Thrawn's guidelines and Noreto's corrections. Pellaeon was stationed at the Gunnery command, directing from there the special targets and priorities. Alone in the bridge Noreto commanded his battle group. "We have lost a ship. Throne of Blood has been destroyed by a squadron of modified freighters." The officer reported. Throne of Blood had been a Nebulon Frigate, which excelled at skirmished against Starfighters, but modified freighters had a stronger hull and heavier weapons. "Carrack Cruiser Fiery Path and Hurrican to move to Throne's position, we must hold our positions, the Core of the Rebel Fleet must be isolated from their back-up." Then the squadron of Freighters sped past the Chimaera's Bridge, single Freighter attracted his attention. "I want IFF codes of those Freighters!" Noreto ordered The officer moved to a console and retrieved them. "We have not obtained them all, we read Gambler's Luck, Mantooine Princess and Bad Samaritan among them." "Bad Samaritan," Noreto muttered to himself and moved to the communication console. "Keep me informed on the whereabouts of that smuggler group." Noreto ordered. "Backboard shields at Sixty-Six percent," Captain Deran's voice informed over the channel from the Secondary Bridge. "Starting manuever to turn starboard shields at them." In the holographic display, Noreto read the response of the Rebel vessel at their maneuver, instead of wasting shots at the turning Destroyer, the Rebel commander had turned the Calamarian Cruiser's superstructure to facilitate the launch of more starfighters from their hangars. Two squadrons of Y-Wing erupted from the hangars of the Rebel Cruiser, their proto torpedo launcher's blazing. "Incoming warheads," a troubled Deran informed. Impacts shook the entire ship. "We have lost several tractor beam projectors, Batteries from Aleph 07 to Aleph 17, non functional repairs commencing, shields are recovering on this side, turning." Deran informed. "Launch Heavy TIEs," Noreto commanded. "Open fire on the Hero of Commenor?...!" The name of Jan Dodonna came to his mind, as he thought of the tactician who was sitting on that vessel. A knot formed in his stomach. "Bombers launched," his officer informed. Battle raged on.
  16. It might be a palette thing, it's not just about saving in 256 colors it has to be the ingame palette...
  17. We had a discussion about that horribly card somewhere I cannot find the thread... . I still think it's a Bakuran ship... About Han I've no idea...
  18. The Imperial flotilla sat in the depths of space. A dozen dagger vessels waited for the single command that would send them to the Sluis Van system, six Destroyers lead by the Vengeance and the other six vessels lead by the Chimaera. Two dozen of other smaller vessels surrounded them. A fleet of annihilation, one that only could meet victory. One would have expected the crews of the ships to be anxious and nervous, longing for the battle to be over, instead Imperial Officers performed calmly. Thrawn's glacial calm and Noreto's strict discipline had so far assure a highly-efficient Imperial performace. Analysis teams had been working with the scarce data gathered to come up with a provisional status of Rebel Forces in the Sluis Van system. The tactical brilliance of Thrawn had provided the Imperial Task Force with a precise Battle Strategy that Noreto had agreed to. "Sir, we have an incoming transmission?" "From Orath?" Noreto asked, he had not forgotten that the smuggler was due to a report. "No, sir from... Sluis Van? Though it's using the code assigned to that smuggler sir." Pellaeon informed. "Put it through," Noreto ordered, a knot forming in his stomach. A small holographic image of Dally materialized. "Hey, Imperial sucker!" the holograph said pointing ahead. "I've got tired of your little stupid games. I'm here right next door to you, COME AND GET ME!" The transmission ended, a perplexed Pellaeon stared at his Admiral, who raised an eyebrow. "Report on supply convoys?" Noreto asked, and Captain Deran stepped forward. "The Vengeance Group is still receiving additional starfighters, the last supply convoys for our group have left." "Good, transmit signal to Vengeance to prepare for hyperspace as soon as the convoys leave." Minutes later, the deadly white fleet entered hyperspace. A single spear-head materialized in the Sluis Van system, then another, then another, then another. A few Rebel soldiers watched the seemingly endless arrival of the dozen of Imperial Star Destroyers, and their support craft, a motley assortment of Nebulon Frigates, Strike Cruiser, Carrack Cruisers, and old Corellian Cruisers. Even a few Acclamator Destroyers and Victories had entered the battle. The Core of the Imperial Fleet threatened them. The Battle had begun. OOC: Battle time.
  19. You asked for it. Topic Closed The third Party program is definitely the most viable solution for the problem.
  20. OOC: Rapora Wars Episode 1.5: The Server Strikes Back... IC: Admiral Baros Oreton could not help the feeling of impotence that took hold of him. Sitting at the edge of the system, safely behind the invisible shield, while allies were in danger troubled him deeply. Had he come to Nirauan to cower away and hide? "Anything from the probes?" The Admiral asked, the communications center was his only window to the space around them. "Nothing new, the Vagaari and Rapora vessel have moved to a lower orbit, the Rapora vessel have stopped the bombardment, and have launched landing crafts. The probes' data suggest that at least a wing of Clawcraft have launched and engaged." Oreton nodded. It was as he had expected it to be. The Rapora were formidable enemies, with a good grasp on tactics. As much as he desired to, sending the Right to Rule back to the planet and engage the forces around the planet would not help Parck. His thoughts raced, hypothesis and theories came to life within his minds only to wither away at the thought of combat against the Rapora. How lend much needed assistance to the Empire of the Hand without risking his ship in the process? How to attack the Rapora successfully? Questions without answers continued to emerge in his thoughts. From his experience with the Yuuzhan Vong, Oreton knew a handful of tricks to deal with a much stronger rival. But the Rapora were little like the Yuuzhan Vong, they replaced the blind fierceness of the Vong warrior with a cold, but inexorable aggressive stance. Their tactics at Nirauan had shown a strong discipline in their moves, attacking the targets most likely to drive fear and panic in to their enemies. Ruthlessly efficient. Should Oreton wage everything on an offensive strike? No, the Rapora a culture so closely bound to conflict were, undoubtedly, experts in aggressive warfare. Subterfuge against a race schooled in the art of drive fear in the hearts of their enemies, fear that strengthened their position? He analyzed the situation of the world. With dangerous trenches scarring the surface of the world, Nirauan was much of a maze. The Chiss having been there for a lots of years most know at least some of the very secret pathways across the landscape. Oreton then realized a single tactic to attempt rescue. "Captain," he breathed. "Prepare a course that will take us to the dark side of Nirauan, where the enemy fleet should not detect us, as soon as we reemerge from lightspeed we will engage the cloaking shield. Have TIE Defender Squadron Alpha, Beta and Delta and TIE Scout group Zero ready for launch." In matter of minutes they maneuver across another distant point at the edge of the system, outside the focus of Rapora interest. From there they hypered to the nightside of Nirauan, in the single second they had before the cloaking shield went online he received a report that no Rapora activity was sighted on this side of the world. The TIEs launched. The Scouts would remain close to the Star Destroyer relaying to them everything that was happening outside the cloaking shield. The three squadrons of Tie Defenders had already started their descent, to aid Parck and his group and to lead them to Oreton's hidden Star Destroyer. A few minutes later the first reports from the TIE Scouts had come in. The TIE Defenders had encountered enemy fighters and engaged them, a trio of them had begun to escort one of the Escape convoys to the Star Destroyer. Another had sighted the clawcraft as they left the engagement, their numbers greatly reduced, now Oreton had to wait.
  21. Good point, plus it's another pressure on Anakin, and yet one more choice made for him. He did not have a choice when it came to become a Jedi or not, he just had and become one role-model Jedi which he was not.
  22. In the past days we've had some discussion around the prequels, about Episode III and about some of the most disappointing issues of the prequels. I found this article today while looking for some Reloaded stuff and found it to express what I think of the prequels myself. I want to see what you guys think of this.
  23. If you make a CD Image and save it on your HD, you can use a prog like DaemonTools to run the image instead of the CD.
  24. That one should be incorporated into Reloaded!
