So when do the actual characters get 'chosen'?

I have no driver's license and no good electronics stores within a 1 hour driving round trip anyway, so I can't just go and get a microphone. And anyways, this is all beside the point, reread the title of this thread. (The only thing that this has pointed out is exactly how lazy those of you with the equipment really are! -not counting the people who actually are doing sound stuff.)

you can't do voices. I, personally have the following situation- Pentium 1. Win 95. Low-level comp hardware, no mike, not likely to get mike, partially because nothing's compatible with this thing. The computer doesn't even acknowledge the existence of the next-model keyboard when hooked up. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't do voices. And instead of the genral community being bashed for not helping with Rebellion, or not doing voices, which at least some of us can't do, I'd like to know if there is anything ELSE. If there isn't, fine, I'd love to help, but if I can't, I'll live. If there is something else that can be done, maybe somebody (hopefully including me) can help you guys. With Regards, Psych. PS: To be very honest, one's enthusiasm for something becomes dampaned when one's thread asking something is closed for breakign a rule (asking a totally different question). The last time I read through the Reloaded info stuff, there were partial or complete progressreports every now and agian. If nothing else of import has changed, fine-I'll do my best to rectify that situation as stated above. But having my head hit with a proverbial lead club is not fun. It looked alot like a traditional case of collateral damage.

A couple problems gramatically and spellingwise there. No the in front of Islam. And its Qur'an not Koran. And it is not a misinterpretation of their religion-its in the Qur'an. And yes, people say: its says such and such that doesn't support this in the Qur'an, but the truth of the matter is is that at the beginning, Mohammed was trying to get Jews and Christians over to his way of thinking, it didn't work, so later in his writings, he changed his views against them. In the equivalent of Armageddon, the people of Islam are supposed to kill every Jew. Not exactly the nicest thing that could be done at the end of the world. There is a certain complete lack of knowledge about Islam that I find somewhat disturbing in your post. Perhaps an Islamic scholar on the community could show his/her face and explain a few things?

You've definately done some thinking on the subject. However, I greatly disagree. Yes, taking communion can be a very moving thing, and its supposed to be. (I can go into detail, if you wish.) What I was really poking at are the Biblically meaningless customs and pointless customs so often associated with and practised by Christians that can take away the faith and leave only the pattern of rituals-it becomes motions instead of something real. While some can be beneficial, they are not necessary and it is often unfortunately acted like they are. Things like the practise of confessing sins to a priest and him getting you forgiveness-for one thing, that particular custom is not Biblical, and disagrees entirely with the core of what Jesus taught. Forgiveness is from God, and it can be gotten without ANYONE but the sinner from seeking it, and merely asking it will get you it. Its a whole lot more simple than alot of people think it is. Then there is the whole having to pray at church-even having a building designated as a church. The church is the body of beleivers, not a building in which they worship. That is something most people forget. As well, regulations on colours of say-draperies in a church, or the Presbyterian (they aren't alone) thing about never baptising someone who was baptized as a child-wholly unbiblical, and worse than pointless. Beleive it or not, most of what churches do, some more than others, is unbiblical and unnecessary. Now, I'm not saying that we Christians ought to be ridiculed for all this, only that changes need to and are taking place and that NO ONE should see Christianity as a maze or pile or whatever of rules, regulations, money-swipage, or mindless bureaucracy. The core of the beliefs of Christianity is quite simple and if ANYONE here wishes it, I'll will put it up and answer any/all questions regrding it, to the best of my abilities. Some answers, to be forwarned, may take a while for me to put into words in such a way as to properly answer the question, or I may need to speak with other Christians and do some research in order to be sure, but if that happens I know that you will have gone deep enough that it will be well worth it.

I am a Christian. And if you want to use those odd and unnecessary weird terms-I am a practicing Christian, a Protestant, and an evangelical. Man can accept the possiblity, yes, but many choose not to-like me. God's ways are not our ways, and His wisdom is not worldly. If this makes no sense and looks like a dodge, replace God and His with women's and their as well as worldly with ours and you might understand that that statement can be, and I believe is, true. An interesting theory, to be sure. But why create something merely to abandon it, unaided. It is proven that through essentially inertia, all things break down. If He has gone to the trouble of sending messengers and prophets, why stop? Or, better yet, devise and implement a method to keep His created people 'safe,' should they so choose? Did you try reverting your Embrief file to what it was before the voice change? Or did you check to see if you did in fact delete those missing files or do something weird to them?

Its actually HHC something, but the problem is is that after I hit ook it repeats about thirty times and then doesn't load-and I've downloaded it several times form THIS website using various in site links just in case. It says something about needing a newer somethinHelp version 1.2 from Microsoft, so I went there to get it and it started downloading and then my comp locked up. Also, what is the icon supposed to look like in the program list? It looks more ike a help icon than something SW related. And the only other option is to click on the short (and boring) readme.

A doable method, but as you said, not all are small, and it would require alot of floppies. Are save files small enough to fit on floppies?

Not on this single-drive Pentium One running Windows 95 with 97 software and the best keyboard and monitor that it can communicate with! Other than that, sure, I probably would.

Rats. When i tried to open it after installing, it said newer version of some weird thingy required-I think it was along the lines of HCCVTRX or something...Help!!! OK, RebED doesn't sound all that unsafe, I think I will download it. OK, all good. My only questions now relate to the other programs in the downloads area, and Reshack, which I have no idea what it is. I looked in downloads and I didn't see anything that said Reshack or lookedl ike something shortened to it, so what is it, what does it do, and (if I choose to) where can I get it? Also, for the other download programs-do any of them come withg Full Restore or equivalent butttons? And finally, yes I came in quite skeptical. But, on the other hand, if you'd read only what I'd read at the time, you'd probably be skeptical too. PS: One last question-tcs-do they use ONLY REBed, or do I have to download other programs as well? Now, off to download REBed. (Under the power of those who have responded's great amounts of logic and reasoning, I see little reason not too.)

As to what RebED can do, I'm lookign for some specifics. Also, somebody was talking about tieing personnel and ships to owning planets and stuff-can you do that and what can be done with it? Also, that Full Restore Button: Let's say I download RebED and do a bunch of stuff. Then I use some of that other weird stuff to change sound files. (for example) Will the Full Restore Button fix that too? Are there any other possibly detrimental effects of the Full Restore button? Does RebED come with a uninstall function and does it work entirely, or leave behind some file junk?
