  1. Just finished reading the book. I thought it was... interesting. While the whole story line was ok people did have a tendancy to suddenly be there talking when they where in a building or vehicle hundreds of meters away seconds before. Wth? I thought Luke was in a different building!? When did he get invited to this conversation? (That kind of thing) *possible Spoilers after this* The Jania/ Zeck thing... All I have to say is that it had better be split apart some how in one of the 2 upcoming books. And you know, KNOW! the those newly found planets will have some kind of native lifeform that's going to fight them all for the region. lol
  2. I normally Build up large numbers of TIE Fighters early on then I have to find creative ways to get rid of them. I don't like just scraping all my Ties to replace them with interceptors, so I throw my fleet against rebel positions a few times until I only have interceptors left. I slowly phase in interceptors as my Tie resources get burned off.

  4. The Thrawn trilogy was written in a different era. Readers back in the early 90's wern't so cynacle and paranoid to suspect every little thing. Besides he probably WANTs the reader to have a good inkling that this thing might be the listening device. It's called foreshadowing. Anyways before that trilogy came out none of the books had any effect on one another. So really he didn't have to worry about plot points that might not add up in other Star Wars books. Just that his books went together.
  5. From what I've read, the reason the rebels wern't overwhelmed by TIE's was that only the squadron under Darth Vader's Command launched to engage them. Tarkin didn't consider them a threat and refused to launch any of the 60 TIE fighter wings or so that the Death Star had.
  6. Perhaps Lucas just didn't come up with the name of a species and doesn't really want to. Lucas: "Damn fans always wanting to know about every little detail. Well screw them, I just won't tell them that I never came up with a name for Yoda's species." My distraught Lucas impersonation.
  7. Yeah Mon Cal Cruisers and ISD's don't ususally go to the same bars that often so the ships are kind of rare. I never actually encountered it until I read New Jedi Order: Destiny's Way. After that I wanted to see what it looked like. I battled one of them in the Homeworld 2 mod and took me forever to kill it. I have been impressed with these since.

Alot of the things I'd want in Rebellion 2 are the same things i've been suggesting in the SWGalcaticcivilwar project. -1- Most important, the ability to capture ships. -2- Next to most important, a veterancy feature of somekind. I Suggested a system to do that in once. -3- Some minor customization of ships. Such as being able to choose weather you want the laser cannon or Ion Cannon version of the Carrack Cruiser. Being able to modify the Strike cruiser for different roles. -4- -5- "Hidden" Side specific worlds like Byss and parts of the Deep Core for the Imperials. -6- (I know you asked for 5 but this is a minor one.) Golan Platforms! EDIT: Wow. Did I kill this thread? nobody's posted in days.

  16. LucasArts should just set it up so you can buy a download of the game online. Kind like those music sites. They could sell the game for 4 or 5 dollars. ...or we could all make a few more "backup" copies of the game. Seriously I don't have that many backups.... just enough to use for /IP games on my LAN.

  18. I still have yet to read The Crystal Star, Darksaber, or The Black Fleet Crisis. BUT! The New Rebelllion would have to rank as the worst I've read, followed by The Truce at Bakura. Granted I never gave Bakura a second chance like I have many other books. There were a few of the NJO books that I didn't like the first time I read them but grew on me a bit the second time. *Won't read Vector Prime* *Won't read Vector Prime* *Won't read Vector Prime*
  19. I did that with a friend of mine 1 time. I played the Empire and he played the Rebellion. We set up a 'Non Death Star' battle, selected our unit orders, unpaused.... Then turned the monitors off for the next 3 hours. I woke up 3 and a half hours later and the battle was still raging on. Crippled heavy cruisers were all over the place. So I moved one of my remaing SSD's with engines left, out to the edge of the battle zone with some busted up ISDII's. 40 minutes later when I got up, those ships had repaired most of their damage so I sent them in and mopped up the remaining 6 Mon Cal cruisers that were there.
  20. Thanks for the help! I also noticed that the game seems to crash more since I upgraded my operating system to Windows XP. It crashed more in 1 day then it had since I originally got the game.
  21. I wasn't sure which thread this belonged in so I've decided to post in the one about noobish questions. Lately I've been modding Rebellion with RebEd: The most kick ass editing program i've run across. Everything is working fine except for 2 particular models. I've attempted to use the Model importer and RebEd to replace the CC-7700 with the MC-90, and the Imperial Dreadnaught with the Alleigance 2.0. These seem to be the only models that are giving me problems beacuse I replace the CC-9600 with the MC-40 without a hitch. After using the model importer I use RebEd to see if the model has been replaced or not. In the case of the MC-90 the old CC-7700 model remains and won't seem to go away. But when I try to view the model for the Alleigance, RebEd crashes and gives me this error. http://web.ripnet.com/~jdprosper/Error.gif Hmm... red[x] of death... I have no idea why it was talking French at me neither. Any help would be appreciated!

  24. Lucas was going to have Spielburg direct ROTJ but after problems Lucas got into with the Directors Guild in ESB Lucas quit the quild. Spielburg IS a member of the Guild though so he couldn't be hired at the time to do ROTJ.
  25. Man what day do you wait untill to capture Coruscant? Whenever I play the Rebellion I never capture Coruscant later than day 1100. I ususally try for days 750 -800. It's always downhill for the Empire after that. Then I run arround for another thousand days mopping up their fleets till I get bored. Wow. That has to be the most intense defense of Coruscant I've ever seen by the computer. The most I ever catch them with is; 1 SSD 4 Imperial Mk. I Star Destroyers 2 Victory Star Destroyers 2 Interdictor Cruisers 5 Carrack Cruisers 3 Lancer Frigates I normally jump in with a Fleet of 5 Mon Cal Cruisers 2 Liberators 2 Dauntless (4 Star Destroyers* if I have them) 8-9 Cariers 4 Assault Frigates 2 CC-7700 /or/ Interdictor Cruisers 8 Dreadnaughts 8 Bulk Cruisers 10 Nebulon B Frigates 15 Gunships 20 Corvettes 1 Bulwark /or/ SSD A fleet of Troop Transports (+50 troops) +40 X-wing sq +40 Y-wing sq +40 A-wing sq 10 B-wings sq's
