  1. Happy Birthday J Have a good one! It's a good thing Eagle's constantly reviewing this thread and finding the dates! Good job Eagle!
  2. How can you defend against a huge fleet at every single one of your systems? That's darn near impossible Let's say I'm the Empire and at Coruscant I have the following ships in Fleet 1: 1 SSD, 4 ISD's 4 VSD's, 6 Carracks, 10 Lancers, 4 Escort Carriers & 4 Star Galleons. All ships are loaded with Tie Interceptors and Imperial Army units. Now when I see the list of ships in the fleet icon, I select all of the ships EXCEPT for one, say the SSD. I right click the selected ships and move (or confirmed move) them to Sluis Van (the location of a Rebel Super Shipyard system). The SSD of Fleet 1 is stall at Coruscant, but now Fleet 2 is enroute to Sluis Van. The Imperial "fleet icon" showing up at Sluis Van is not the Imperial "fleet icon in hyperspace", it's the Imperial "stationary fleet icon" (Note: the "icon" shows the miniature stationary ships, while within the ship list all of the ships are in hyperspace). Now, you as the Rebels see this incoming fleet (plus the 56 Tie Interceptors & 32 Imperial Army units). I don't think every single Rebel system can defend against this fleet. You as the Rebel commander move lots of fighters and ships to Sluis Van, and construct multiple Gen Core's and LNR's to defend your Super Shipyard system. Everything is in place to defend against the Imperial fleet with a couple of days to spare. Then the Imperial fleet arrives over Kothlis (the Rebel Super Construction Yard system) instead, easily crushing it's defenses and assaulting the planet, while all of your forces are at the wrong planet! What you didn't see was me moving the Imperial (stationary) fleet icon off of Sluis Van and move it to Kothlis. Since the "icon" is stationary, the ships in hyperspace somehow figured out some means to change course without exiting hyperspace. Something you shouldn't be allowed to do, hence a "bug" that can be exploited. Once the fleet arrives at Kothlis, it can't ghost fleet again. You can pick a subset of this fleet, and do ghost fleeting with the subset of ships, but not the whole fleet. Is that a little bit better to understand?
  3. I saw that same thing. Is Ron an Auror, business partner with George, or both?
  4. If you don't have to be overly frugal with the maintenance points and such, the Death Star has a bombardment value of 15! Although, I think it should be way more
  5. Maybe your internet provider went down, and everything was just fine here for the rest of us PS Eagle: what's up with your avatar. It hasn't loaded on my machine for the past couple of days
  6. Try removing the "Read Only" protection first
  7. Although that is a good idea, one must be aware of all the facts. The local news here did a story on people who "re-used" their water bottles for their "tap", "fountain" or "home filtered" water to drink. The problem was that after a couple of uses, the bottles had more bacteria on them than a toilet! Bottom line: wash and clean your bottles between uses (hot and soapy water at a minimum)!
  8. I've already put those in the recycle bin Just a point: I've never seen Al's movie and probably never will. The man is a hypocrit. He asks people to reduce and conserve energy, while he uses 10X more than the standard family of four. He wants people to reduce their carbon output, then he flies VIP jets all around this country & the world. I say "Al, lead by example. Put your money where your mouth is" Sorry about the rant. I do appreciate a clean environment. Personal responsibility - more people need to get some, especially when it come to pollution.
  9. Where did you hear that?
  10. Well J, it seems it boils down to a) use paper, which ultimately means cutting down more trees + the results of processing, and twats who don't dispose of them correctly (bad for nature ), or b) using plastic, which means using oil by-products + the results of processing, and twats who don't dispose of them correctly (bad for nature ). Which is the lesser of two evils? Screwed either way I use plastic. The plastic is supposed to be the bio-degradable kind, but I can't tell one plastic bag from another. I re-use most of them: trash bags, disposing of litter box kittie krunchies, temporarily storing/sorting items, or just recycling them. I'm a responsible type person, so I don't like "throwing away" anything that can be re-used, recycled, or at last resort put in the trash. You see back in the day, when people didn't have as many "possessions" as they do today, ... ... I think I'm hitting a ranting tangent; .... nevermind!
  11. Basically "yeah". The AI always attacks the most powerful ship in your fleet en mass (sometimes going after the ship that has your fleet admiral, assuming you have one). Sometimes this is the same (your fleet admiral is usually on your most powerful ship). So, depending on what other ships are in your fleet, they could all be gunning for your Golan.
  12. Don't forget to pack lots of greasy meat, your dog and some eggs. Let your dog eat most of the greasy meat; throw the rest, plus the eggs and whatever the dog "processes" of the greasy meat at the "former" apartments. It'll sell quick with the new "decorations"
  13. That's correct! RebEd (for whatever reason; it's in the programming) does some kind of a check and will NEVER let a ship be "hyperspace disabled". No matter what you change, as soon as you run RebEd, all your hyperspace values are checked and zero values adjusted. ALWAYS run the Battlestations mod after RedEd, IF you have ships with designed hyperspace disabled.
  14. Sure! Contact GL or somebody at LucasArts and politely ask for the source code to Rebellion. Then, we'll have a chance at modding the AI
  15. Well as of right now, they're drop-outs and haven't finished their schooling! As for Harry he did say he was interested in being an Auror. After finishing off Voldemort I seriously don't think they would make him finish his last year of school (he would be soooo totally bored). I think Ron would follow Harry, but Hermoine is definitely very difficult to pin down; she could do just about whatever she wanted, but I would guess maybe joining Harry & Ron as an Auror. On another note, a question: If Griphook (the goblin) ran off with the Sword of Gryffindor at Gringott's, how did it get back into the Sorting Hat so Neville could cut off Nagini's head? Just wondering ...
  16. I think that list would almost take a whole page by itself I'd say you pegged that one Tofu
  17. I liked Dobby! His death hit close to the heart for me Mad Eye, Fred, Lupin and Tonks were surprises. I expected Voldemort, Snape & Bellatrix to get in the end. But the others? They're all like "red shirts" from Star Trek . How come you didn't add Crabbe to the list Tofu?. I didn't even think he was going to be in the book at all. He also seemed to grow a backbone with his "revised" relationship with Draco.
  18. I was shocked that Mad Eye died so ... easily. Meaning that there wasn't a more decriptive battle to proceed his death. It was just that, "he's dead". I was thinking it might have been a "ruse" up until the visit to Grimwauld Place. Then it sank in. Fred's death was a shock, but Dobby's death hit dearly. And then I thought, "Hey, that's 3 not 2 characters that died. She said 2 characters were going to die" And then more characters died! Then she killed off Harry! But, but, there's still about two or three chapters to go But, I did like the end (mostly). Soon she'll franchise out the rights for other authors to do stories, but maintain control over content just like GL for his stuff. She'll rake in even more big bucks and, hopefully, the "Potter EU" or PEU (pronounce "pew") won't become what it sounds like.
  19. You were away? That explains the "relative" peace and quiet
  20. But Mad, these are "ships of deterrence" not war. It follows the old adage "Peace through superior firepower". For example, if you know a guy who has trained in martial arts and participates in contests & such, you're NOT going to pick a fight with him because you know he won't hesitate to kick your arse (or at least try). Same thing applies to nations. It's the groups or organizations of people NOT affiliated with a country (Al-queda) that care less about innocent civilians, and are willing to start conflicts. Different ships for a different era. Yes they look cool and fascinating, but mostly because of the technology (or lack thereof) at the time. In a conflict today, their survivability would be quite limited.
  21. I got 8 out of 10, but should have been 9. For some crazy reason I "picked" the wrong Amazon.com when I clearly mentioned "That's the fake" Must've been a "senior moment" The other one I missed was Chase. The simplest, best defense is NEVER click a provided link! Type in the url address manually; that should help immensely (But with some of our members, the ones who can't spell, you're in for deep doo-doo because there are other sites geared for your "typos". So sorry).
  22. For the Golan stations run the Battlestations mod; check RedEd to see which "slot" it's in. Everytime you run RebEd, you must re-run the Battlestations mod!
  23. Nice to hear from you Mr. xgmx. Welcome to the site. I gotta agree with TacoJoe as I'm not sure what you're getting at ("ally clubs") I see from your site, you do gobbs of different games; we only hit on a few (mainly Rebellion and Warlords, and ... whatever). Not that I'm the one to say anything, but you might want to direct your request to E (that's Evaders, the head honcho). He get's paid the big bucks to make the big decisions Or just hang loose, I'm sure he'll come strolling by the forums and read your thread. Have fun while you're here.
  24. And I thought I was bad for creating 256 DS's
