  1. I still check the website semi-regularly; but don't necessarily comment on every post made. I have a game currently going and am posting it in the Gaming Stories, but haven't made much progress lately as RL takes precedence. See ya 'round
  2. That is correct, provided you meet the previously discussed assumptions of MP's and popular support. I always wanted to turn up production for the AI, so it would construct more forces to fight against and provide a more enjoyable game. Unfortunately, changing mine/refinery production affects both sides, not just yours or not just the AI's.
  3. It's been awhile since I tried something like that. Occasionally, I do the same thing with starfighters. Enemy starfighters always go after your most advanced starfighters first; so I'll send them to nav points to the rear of my fleet, drawing enemy starfighters through my fleet where they can take lots of pot shots as they fly by, hopefully knocking out some. Eventually they'll become directly engaged in combat, but sometimes, every little bit helps.
  4. Maximum of 0.2 OK, so now you're asking how in the world did he get that? As you have already seen, maintenance points and popular support play a small part. Assuming there is plenty of maintenance points and popular support is 100%: checking RedEd you'll see the "production rate" for mines/refineries is set to 5. Every 5 days 1 raw material/1 refined material is produced; so 1 point divided by 5 days equals 0.2 refined materials per day (maximum). Remember though, it takes 5 days to make the first raw material, then another 5 days to turn the raw material into a refined material, for a total of ten days on the first one produced, but then one every 5 days thereafter (with assumptions). If you have "low" maintenance points, that basically means the mines/refineries are very busy just making resources for replacement parts for everything you have currently constructed, and there isn't much left for the production of extra materials for new construction. How the game figures out which pair is how busy, and when they start the 5 day cycle is beyond me; maybe it's some kind of average of what's available vs what's used, etc. Also, popular support is basically a reflection of worker morale, the more the people/workers support the leadership, the better their work output. An uprising would be equivalent to an outright strike.
  5. I have this happen on my XP PC (windowed game, not full screen); but when I hit "OK" in the message box, everything works fine.
  6. I'm not a doctor, but I would say she has Parkinson's disease. Just a guess Excellent job Tofu! Any updates on your more recent efforts? When will you present the funds to young-Bonnie? Keep up the good work!
  7. Thanks Slocket It's been awhile since I had a chance to get back to my game. Hopefully I can finish it up without more long delays. Hope things are going OK with you, and keep up the good work on your Rebellion Game!
  8. Day 1000, current status: Coruscant sector: The ASY's are constructing 8 Star Galleons. I plan to push for a large invasion of the Corporate Sector which is entirely controlled by the Rebels. All the Star Galleons are sent to Abregado:Tapani sector where the ASY's there are constructiong 4 Strike Cruisers, and to pick up troops being produced by ATF's in that sector and sent to Abregado. Borderlands sector: Everything is quiet here; the Imperial systems for the most part have garrison troops only, and just getting mine/refiney facilities. The Rebel systems are just mine/refiney facilities; there are no Rebel military forces present in the sector. Piett is currently on Kashyyyk working on bringing local support to 100%; he's only about 65% there. Deep Core sector: My last VSD II is complete. I leave damaged ISD Challenger for repairs at Vulpter, while the rest of the fleet 2 VSD II's, 6 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor and 1 Escort Carrier with 1 Tie Fighter, 4 Tie Interceptors and 5 Tie Bombers heads to Fresia to eliminate the Rebel A-wings assembling there. I have the ASY's at Vulpter start manufacturing Tie Bombers. My fleet arrives as Fresia to find only 4 A-wings. The fighters charge forward while the ships move into firing range. The battle doesn't last long for the A-wings, but they did manage to destroy my 1 Tie Fighter and 1 Tie Interceptor. Intelligence has just come in from Emperess Teta that a Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser and Interdictor are arriving (on two different days). I send Screed from Galantos to be Admiral for my fleet, then send my fleet to intercept the Mon Cal Cruiser (which is the first Rebel ship to arrive). The day of battle has come; the Mon Cal Cruiser moves forward to engage. I let me ships sit while the Tie Bombers and Tie Interceptors launch; after that all forces are sent to engage the enemy. The Mon Cal Cruiser fires on one of the VSD II's taking several rapids hits. I check the VSD II's shields, and they're barely touched; improved shield generators and higher shield strength do wonders. The Mon Cal is taking a beating from the VSD II's when the fighter hit. As soon as the shields drop, all of the Mon Cal Cruiser systems start dropping offline; the Rebel ship is a floating hulk. My fleet has taken no damage at all. The following day the Rebel Interdictor arrives to the same fate, but it was lucky enough to damage some of my fighters before its destruction. I then send my fleet to Byss to wipe out the build up of Rebel A-wings. Upon arrival at Byss, seven A-wings stream in for the attack. They are systematically destroyed, but have destroyed 1 Tie Fighter, 1 Tie Interceptor and 2 Tie Bombers. After bombarding the Rebel garrison and destroying all three Mon Call troops, my fleet heads back to Vulpter to re-arm. The ISD Challenger at Vulpter has completed all repairs. The ISD Challenger, 2 VSD II's, 6 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor and 1 Escort Carrier with 2 Tie Fighters, 6 Tie Interceptors and 5 Tie Bombers with Admiral Screed are now at Galantos preparing for strikes on Byss and Fresia. Kuat sector: 14 new Tie Bombers has arrived at my fleet: 1 ISD Devastator, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor with 4 Tie Interceptors. With the added bombardment values and Admiral Piett's guidance, the next bombardment on Commenor is devastating. All Rebel troops are destroyed in a quick move; unfortunately, one civilian SY was caught in the crossfire giving some minor support for the Rebels. There are no Rebel forces on Commenor with the exception of Borsk Fey'lya. For now my fleet will remain holding the blockade of Commenor, but I have sent Piett to Balmorra to bring Imperial support upto 100%. I have withdrawn my fleet from Commenor to Balmorra for the time being. Maybe this will generate some action on the Rebels behalf. My espionage droids are already there, and I've sent another group in; maybe I'll find something out. Corellian sector: Menndo, Garindan, Noval Garaint and about a dozen commandos have arrived at Saccoria. I send them in three different missions to Corellia to destroy the GenCores and LNR. I'm going to start working on the Rebel defenses in this sector so my fleet (currently at Duros) can then roam the sector taking out Rebel garrison troops. One GenCore II is completed on Duros and the other is still in production. The other GenCore II has arrived, but due to Rebel activity in the Doldur sector I'm sending my fleet there. Upon completion of their mission, hopefully I'll be able to complete my plan of attack here in the Corellian sector. Doldur sector: Intelligence has uncovered Rebel fleet reinforcements coming into Ando. Currently at Ando is a Corellian Corvette, Mon Cal Cruiser and a damaged Bulk Cruiser. Enroute are an Interdictor, Bulk Transport and another Mon Cal Cruiser (all arriving on different days). Darth Vader has just arrived at Naboo via Armored Transport to start diplomacy. With a Rebel Interdictor in this sector along with the Mon Cal cruisers, my ships don't stand a chance. Therefore I'm sending my fleet at Duros:Corellian sector ISD Avenger, 2 VSD's, 3 Escort Carriers, 5 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor with 9 Tie Interceptors and 16 Tie Bombers to Rodia (a neutral system), and then launch my attack on the Rebel fleet. A few days after arriving at Rodia, the fleet pushes onto Ando. My fleet has arrived before the arrival of the Rebel reinforcements. Awaiting my fleet is a Mon Cal Cruiser, a damaged Bulk Cruiser and 8 A-wings and 8 X-wings. I'll hold my fighters back as long as possible to let the capital ships take shots at the Rebel fighters, then I'll put the Star Destroyers against the Mon Cal Cruiser and let the fighters go. My plan has only worked partially; enemy fighters are taking a beating, but the Mon Cal Cruiser has moved up rapidly and is already attacking. I quickly order the Star Destroyers to attack the Mon Cal Cruiser, but the enemy has already gained a small edge. The ISD Avenger is slugging it out shot for shot, and has finally lost its shield generator. The shields are dropping quickly now that the Rebel Bulk Cruiser has added its firepower. The ISD Avenger has taken some serious damage: shield generators-out, weapons-out, sub light engines-damaged, but the Mon Cal Cruiser is now a "hulk" floating in space. The Tie Bombers are moving in on the Bulk Cruiser. All enemy fighters are gone, so everybody is ordered to attack capital ships. The damaged Bulk Cruiser didn't last long, and the Mon Cal shortly follows its destruction. I've only lost 2 Tie Interceptors and 1 Tie Bomber, with 4 others only damaged. Other than the damage to the ISD Avenger, 1 VSD and 1 Lancer Frigate has some shield generator damage. Now I just have to wait for the Rebel reinforcements coming in 1 ship at a time. The Rebel Interdictor arrives, and I let my fighters launch and circle waiting for the attack. When the Rebels open fire, I order all ships to attack. The VSD's hammer the enemy shields in just a couple of salvos; just as my fighters arrived to pour on the attack. The enemy ship sub-systems start dropping offline like flies, and soon the ship is a hulk. After its destruction I check my fleet status: a couple of more damaged Tie Bombers, but no fighters lost. Now comes the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser! I order all the Lancer Frigates to attack the 2 Rebel A-wings, while my fighters start to launch. The A-wings make 1 pass before they are destroyed. I order the ISD Avenger to sit it out in the back since it has no weapons. The VSD's are moving in. My undamaged VSD goes toe-to-toe with the Mon Cal Cruiser trading shots; its shields are holding up relatively well, but they won't last too much longer. With my fighters pouring all over the Mon Cal Cruiser along with the VSD shots, the shields go down quickly followed by all of the ships sub-systems. Soon it explodes! My only damage is to the VSD's shield generators; I lost no fighters again (or had any damaged). There are 22 Rebel troops on Ando (4 Army, the rest Wookies); I need to take out the GenCores in order to bombard them, and so far I have no luck. I use Labansat and Niles Ferrier with Niles as a decoy, and both GenCores drop within days. In just two salvos, all of the (22) Rebel garrison troops are destroyed. I send my fleet to Falleen for repairs and R&R. Upon my depart from Ando, both Kira and Rodia join the Empire. Tapani sector: The ASY's at Abregado are constucting 4 Strike Cruisers. I plan to use these for a future invasion of the Corporate Sector. The fleet currently at Devaron has been sent to Saccoria:Corellian sector to provide hit and raids on the Rebel held systems. The ASY's at Devaron are construction 3 ISD II's which recently became available. Unknown sector: Other than my espionage on the Rebel system Bob to get information, this sector remains quiet. My maintenace is currently ~2600. I no excess of raw or refined materials, so things are still taking longer to manufacture than normal. The Rebel HQ has reappeared at Orron in the Corporate sector. I have explored all sectors and colonizied all uninhabited systems. Mon Mothma has been found on a Diplomacy mission to Eredenn in the Tion Hegemony; I'll now have to figure out how to delay/capture her before she has completed her mission. Right before I go to post this, Princess Leia has been found on a Diplomacy mission to Chandaar in the Tion Hegemony. Now I have two targets to abduct! 408
  9. I've haven't tried this tip myself because I'm still running XP; I always like to stay "behind the times" when it comes to OS's. That way, by the time I upgrade, everybody has already figured out how to work past the "bugs". Check the permissions on the files to verify you are "allowed" to make changes to the files I hope this works out for you.
  10. Update your video drivers?
  11. I think Slocket had the simplest solution: erase the EMBRIEF.DLL file data. I think he said to use ResourceHacker to erase all of the file data and then save. Without the data, the briefing is quick. You can do a forum search to find his post. Have fun! PS Any big vacation/holiday plans this year?
  12. *** SPOILER ALERT!! *** You've been warned; following are two commercials debuting during the upcoming Super Bowl XLVI Commercial 1 Commercial 2 (a little more subtle) Enjoy!
  13. Good to hear from you again BS And congratulations on the marriage & house, and most importantly "growing up" (plus staying *mostly* sober). It takes some soul searching to admit our youthful ways (just some of them ) need to go, and to move on to better and more rewarding endeavors. Keep up the good work, and keep your wife happy!!
  14. Who's the lucky lady Mitth? Graduated and working in the real world! Good Luck on the house hunting! Make sure you get a house inspection, and don't expect everything to be perfect (unless it's a brand new house, and then it better be!). Don't be afraid of doing some "updating/fixing up" on your own, it's not all rocket science Glad to see things are looking good for ya
  15. What's KOTF and who's Tim? ... Electricity is a wonderful convenience, completely taken "for granted" until it's no longer there Glad to see you got everything put together!
  16. Hang in there Slocket. I'm sure the doctors will do their best to get you at your best! Thanks for all the hard work you've been putting into the "new" Rebellion. I'll probably wait 'til it's 99.99% complete before I run it through its paces. That's mainly because I'm slow at using new technology and such, and just plain ole take my own time. Whoever would have thought I could respond to these forums on an ol' vaccuum tube machine and ancient CRT?
  17. Our "little" Tofu is growing up, and will probably be graduating next year; then off to work in the "real" world. When I say "little" I really mean "young whipper-snapper" because our "little" Tofu is 6 foot plus, and probably still growing!! Nice to see you still visit the site occasionally Tofu Keep up the hard work & keep us posted!
  18. When a planetary assault takes place and the game calculates the "offensive vs defensive" factors, the KDY-150 Ion Cannon is used for defensive purposes against assaults. They are responsible for eliminating some of those attacking troops coming to take over your planet. KDY-150's dis-suade planetary assaults (only 2 GenCore's actually "prevent" assaults), LNR's dis-suade bombardments. Of course if the attacker has overwhelming forces, your defenses will still "defend/attack", but they will be overwhelmed and captured/destroyed. So, for what you're asking, the game is already doing it; you just didn't know/see it happening.
  19. Don't you know you can't tell women what to do? You have to ask, politely That's a new one. I would think maybe some of your file data was corrupt, but you did a "re-install" and got the same problem; unless the CD file(s) is/are hosed Try using RebEd and checking all of her stats to make sure anything isn't totally out of whack causing the crash. Other than that, maybe getting another source for the MJCHARSD.DAT file, and checking again. I'm not sure what other files to try and swap out that would have "Mon Mothma" data that would cause such a problem? Worse case scenario, ... get another CD and do a file check; or just get another game CD. Good Luck!
  20. That would be the CAPSHPSD.DAT file in the GDATA directory. Getting back to the "AI value" or "Morale Modifier" (whatever you want to call it), I haven't messed with it too much, but it does have "some" kind of impact based on ship type. Below is a list of just a couple of examples from the "vanilla" CAPSHPSD.DAT file: Mon Cal Cruiser = 42 Imperial SD Mk 1 = 47 Corellian Corvette = 7 Carrack Light Cruiser = 13 Dauntless Cruiser = 62 Imperial SD Mk 2 = 70 Bulwark Battlecruiser = 110 Super Star Destroyer = 120 Death Star = 250 I did a mod, way back when, and replaced the Corellian Gunship (value = 5) with a Golan III Battlestation (before SWRE, and using only RebEd). I did use the BattleStation Mod that disabled the hyperdrive to keep them from moving through the galaxy, but there were some interesting results: 1) the Golan III's still had sublight values (RebEd won't allow a ZERO value) so they "flew" around on screen like regular capital ships. 2) because I couldn't change the "AI value", the Golan III's constantly chased fighters throughout battles They wouldn't attack capital ships until all fighters were gone, and even then only every so often (not with the same intensity like when attacking the fighters). I never spent the time to consider if that "ship slot" had something "hardwired" because it was an "anti-fighter" type capital ship, or if the AI value takes into consideration other things as well. Just my two bits worth
  21. I only need the SYSTEMSD.DAT file as that has the location coordinates; I just needed to know the (readable) system names so I know which one goes where. I could figure it out without the names, but it would be difficult to explain that "system 123" has a problem, if there are any questions from me. I remember seeing those cards when they were first posted and thought they looked very cool (and apparently German); I don't remember where I saw them or how long ago, but its been at least 2-3 years ago. I think
  22. Are you planning on have "multiple" levels of facility/defense upgrades (i.e. GenCore III? Advanced Construction Yard Mark II? etc)? Are there incentives/limitations on advanced facilities? (i.e. you can only construct advanced ships, ISD III or Eclipse, from Advanced Shipyards - NOT the original shipyard facility)? Just asking
  23. Yeah, I can do it. I'll need your SYSTEMSD.DAT file and if you could provide a readable list of all 10 systems that would greatly help (from your picture, mostly the Rebel system names are hard to read due to the color/font). It'll take a couple of iterations to get what you want; and then after you get it, I can "tweak" anything you want "nudged" here or there.
  24. You have to create a new "graphic" of whatever ship you're interested in, using whatever graphic program you like (remember to use the Rebellion pallette). Actually you have to make six: ship image, ship in hyperspace, ship with damage, mini-ship image, mini-ship in hyperspace, mini-ship with damage. Use ResourceHacker, find the correct locations (folders) and replace the resource
  25. Day 800, current status: (My update file got messed up so I had to start over, and may have forgotten somethings; so if you see any dis-continuities you'll know why; ask if you have any questions) Coruscant sector: Darth Vader has been training Screed in the ways of the Force; but the last two training missions have failed. I'm sending Darth Vader and Screed to Galantos:Deep Core sector to get some on-the-training-experience. Mazer Rackus has shown up to abduct an unknown target. After his arrival, I have Palpy try to abduct him, and Mazer Rackus is captured (the hunter has become the hunted)! Intelligence has shown a Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser, Escort Carrier, Corellian Corvette and Medium Transport are enroute to Tanaab:Borderlands sector. Since I don't have any ships in that sector, I'm sending my fleet at Coruscant 1 ISD Devastator, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor with 12 Tie Bombers and 6 Tie Interceptors to intercept them. Since the Rebel ships are all arriving on different days, I arrange to arrive on the same day as the Corellian Corvette, so hopefully all the Rebel ships with exception to the Medium Transport will be there for my arrival. Borderlands sector: The day before my fleet is to arrive at Tanaab to confront a Rebel fleet of a Mon Cal Cruiser, Escort Carrier, Corellian Corvette and Medium Transport, the Mon Cal Cruiser and Escort Carrier arrive over Hapes. They destroy my garrison troop there and proceed to assault the system. My fleet of 1 ISD Devastator, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor with 12 Tie Bombers and 6 Tie Interceptors arrives at Tanaab to only find the Corellian Corvette. The Corellian Corvette is no match for my fleet, but manages to damage some fighters before being defeated. I quickly send my fleet to Hapes hoping to catch the Rebel ships there, but they are already gone. I bombard the Rebel garrison getting revenge for my forces. I then go back to Tanaab on the long hopes that maybe the Rebel fleet went back to attack my fleet (for the initial attack), but there are no ships. I await the Medium Transport and then destroy it. I head to Kashyyyk to load up 1 troop for garrison duty back at Hapes. Intelligence has just informed my of a Corellian Corvette heading to Ambria; I'll get there right after my stop over at Hapes. My fleet of 1 ISD Devastator, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor with 12 Tie Bombers and 6 Tie Interceptors has waited patiently over Ambria for a Rebel Corellian Corvette enroute. The day comes and the battle is set. I send out only my ISD to attack the Corvette; the fighters launch, and gather in their flight groups awaiting orders. The Corvette makes a run at the Tie Interceptors, but my ISD catches it in a tractor beam. To keep the Tie Interceptors from taking potshots, I recall them to the Escort Carriers. When the Rebel ships shields have collapsed, I send in the Tie Bombers to help finish it off. It doesn't take too long for the Rebel Corellian Corvette to explode. There's nothing else in this sector to attack, so my fleet is headed to Arkania:Kuat sector which has five garrison troops but no defenses Deep Core sector: Darth Vader and Screed have gone to Byss to destroy a GenCore; Vader is the decoy so Screed can get some experience. The mission has been scrubbed as a previously assigned team has taken it out. Apparently I've assigned them the wrong GenCore. After their return, they're back out for the other (second) GenCore. Screed succeeds! Darth Vader again starts training Screed in the ways of the Force. My fleet is back at Vulpter; I re-arranging the fleet for upcoming tasks. The ISD Behemoth with Admiral Dorja and General Ozzel and several prisoners (Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Tura Raftican, Talon Karrde, Page and Vanden Willard) are heading back to Coruscant to defend the capital. I strip all of their fighters for deployment on Vulpter as Coruscant has a plethora of fighters. I create a fleet of 6 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor and 1 (empty) Escort Carrier and ISD Challenger to remain at Vulpter until the 2 Victory II's under construction are complete. The remaining ships: 1 ISD Avenger, 2 VSD's, 3 Escort Carriers, 5 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor with 10 Tie Interceptors and 18 Tie Bombers is enroute to Saccoria:Corellian sector with the final destination being Duros for defensive purposes until I can get some GenCores built. I think Duros is going to be a target of the Rebels very soon. The Rebel systems in this sector are now pretty empty of military forces. Byss has reinforcements enroute, and Khomm has several infiltrators/Bothan spies; and I have been sabotaging everything I can when I can in the sector. Pretty soon everything will be destroyed and the Rebels won't have a fighting force here at all. A Rebel Corellian Corvette and Mon Cal Cruiser are enroute to Byss; I move my fleet from Vulpter to Byss. ISD Challenger has shield generator damage so when the Rebel Corellian Corvette shows up, I send all ships to attack it, but keep the fighters near the ISD. After the Corvette has run the gauntlet of my fleet, I release the ISD and fighters to attack. The Corvette is too concerned about attacking the fighters, and soon is being pummeled by the ISD. The systems on the Corvette are dropping with every salvo fired; soon the ship is a hulk, and then destroyed. The next day the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser arrives, and I use the same tactics, except my fleet is not necessary a gauntlet as more a swarm of little flies. ISD Challenger and the Mon Cal exchange shots, the shields are each ship are both dropping. As both ships shields fail, the Mon Cal starts taking crippling hits from my Tie Bombers. Their is a massive systems failure on the Mon Cal, and soon it's a hulk for target practice. It explodes shortly thereafter. It's time to send ISD Challenger back to the ASY's at Vulpter for some major repairs, while the fleet maintains the blockade around Byss. Kuat sector: I've been using my commandos to repeatedly sabotage enemy troops and fighters, just to have them send more replacements. There are now 3 SY's constructing the first Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser, with a fourth in construction; the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser is approximately 60% complete. After another round of sabotage, the latest espionage mission has shown the last SY is enroute, the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser at 90% complete, 6 new A-wings in place and more troops enroute. I've taken out one of the SY's to slow down construction, but I will need to hurry with the remaining SY's if I want to prevent the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser from launching. Too many of my sabotage missions have been failing, and the Rebel Mon Cal Cruiser is gone. Apparently a Mon Cal troop has arrived and been foiling my missions. I'm going to have to take them out as soon as possible. A large Rebel fleet is gathering at Arkania, but when I check again after their arrival, they are all already gone to someplace else. The Mon Cal troop on Commenor is now destroyed. I've had several missions now fail at Commenor, both espionage and sabotage. I've had my ATF's at Balmorra produce more espionage droids, then I send larger missions out to Arkania and Commenor. Piett has been doing good work around the sector bringing more systems to the Empire. He now heads for the last neutral system: Tepasi. Arkania which has been totally empty, now has garrison troops; there are a large amount in hyperspace enroute. Commenor has a few Mon Cal troops with a large amount in hyperspace enroute. My fleet from the Borderlands sector, 1 ISD Devastator, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor with 12 Tie Bombers and 6 Tie Interceptors blockades Arkania. The space battle with the 7 A-wings takes longer than expected, and my fighters are taking a beating. I've lost 6 Tie Bombers and 2 Tie Interceptors. Currently there are only 3 Rebel garrison troops; they all are destroyed with the first salvo. My fleet heads to Balmorra to pickup the commandos and espionage droids prior to a planned raid at Commenor. After loading up the spec forces at Balmorra, it's only a few days flight to Commenor. Again 7 A-wings bring the flight to my fleet and they are destroyed; but I have lost all of my remaining Tie Bombers in the battle. My latest info shows 2 GenCores and 12 garrison troops (mostly Mon Cal troops) at Commenor. I start sending down the commando teams to take out the GenCores prior to bombardment. It takes a couple of tries, but the GenCores are now gone. The first salvo, does nothing; my attack has been resisted. Only the ISD has bombardment value, and the Mon Cal troops has high defensive values. I have sent 14 Tie Bombers from Coruscant to the ISD Devastator. A message has come in that Piett has failed his diplomacy mission at Tepasi, as they have joined the Rebels. As soon as Piett gets back to Imperial territory, I order him to the ISD Devastator over Commenor. Admiral Piett gets things jumping as the next salvo takes out a Rebel Army unit. The next salvo produces no results. After waiting a couple of days I try again; success! & failure. Only every other salvo produces results, and only with waiting between shots. I'm going to wait for the arrival of the Tie Bombers before continuing the bombardments. I can't afford any "accidental" civilian damage. My commandos will keep trying to sabotage the garrison troops. Corellian sector: I have a fleet from Vulpter:Deep Core sector enroute to Saccoria with a final destination being Duros for defensive purposes until I can get some GenCores built. Intelligence has shown a Rebel fleet of a Mon Cal Cruiser, Escort Carrier and Bulk Transport gathering at Selonia. I think its only a matter of time before they head back to Duros trying to reclaim it. Before my fleet even makes it to Saccoria, Duros is under blockade as I have feared. The initial bombartment destroys 2 Imperial Army troops, but I have extra garrison troops just in case; which leaves me the bare minimum of 3 troops to hold the system. The next day the Rebels try for a frontal assault of the system. I have defended Duros, destroying 6 of their 7 troops, but I have lost 1 Stormtrooper troop leaving 2 Dark Troopers to defend a system now in uprising. The enemy fleet withdraws; my guess is to resupply with more troops for another future assault. It will be sometime before my fleet arrives or I can get reinforcements down there. Hopefully they can hang on until Admiral Daala arrives. My fleet arrives at Saccoria and is quickly dispatched down to Duros. After arriving at Duros, I have Daala start her Subdue Uprising mission. I'm having two GenCore II's built but they will take awhile to be built and get here. While Daala is busy on Duros, I make Brandei the fleet Admiral. My suspicions soon come true as a Rebel fleet attempts to blockade Duros: 1 Mon Cal Cruiser, 1 Escort Carrier, 2 Bulk Transports with 8 A-wings and 1 Y-wing. I bet they get quite the surprise seeing 1 ISD Avenger, 2 VSD's, 3 Escort Carriers, 5 Lancer Frigates, 1 Interdictor with 10 Tie Interceptors and 18 Tie Bombers waiting for them. I immediately send out the Lancers to attack the enemy fighters while my fighters start to launch. The Tie Interceptors are also given orders to attack, while the Tie Bombers continue to assemble in their group. The Mon Cal Cruiser has moved into firing range of my fleet, so the ISD/VSD's open fire. The Tie Bombers are also ordered to attack the Mon Cal Cruiser. My ISD is in a shot-for-shot exchange with the Mon Cal Cruiser, and both ships are starting to show some wear-n-tear. The VSD's are helping taking down the Mon Cal Cruiser's shields, just as the Tie Bombers arrive. Their shields finally collapse! All enemy fighters have been destroyed, so all forces are to attack enemy capital ships. The Rebel Escort Carrier appears to be trying to make an escape run, but upon the destruction of the Mon Cal Cruiser it's caught in a tractor beam. After just a couple of salvos, the shields are gone and the hull is already damaged. Soon another Rebel ship explodes. My fighters just buzz around, and my ships just sit there. I finally order half of the Tie Interceptors and Tie Bombers to attack one of the Bulk Transports, and the other half the other ship. The transports don't last long. I've only lost 1 Tie Bomber and 2 Tie Interceptors in the battle. My fleet will now sit and wait until Duros is adequately defended before moving on. Daala has put down the uprising, so I make her General; the fleet will remain in orbit until the arrival of the GenCore II's for system defense. Roget Jiriss has just been injured trying to start an uprising, unfortunately she has escaped. I send Niles Ferrier, Labansat and some commandos to Drall to sabotage the two GenCores defending the system. I plan to visit them in the future for some target practice. Doldur sector: An enemy fleet from Ando, 1 Corellian Corvette and 1 Bulk Cruiser are attempting to blockade Triffis my base of operations for this sector. The Carrack Light Cruiser that brought Bin Essada has been sitting back in orbit with nothing to do, until now. I'm not sure if my Carrack can take the Bulk Cruiser, so my plan will be to shot at the Corvette trying to damage it as much as possible before my shields get to 50%, then I'll retreat. I don't send the Carrack to attack, rather letting the enemy ships come to me (then I won't have too far to get to the jump point if I need to retreat). As soon as the Corvette opens fire, I order the Carrack to attack; but the Carrack targets the Bulk Cruiser and will not follow my orders to attack the Corvette! After several salvos from both sides, the Carrack seems to be holding up very well; the Bulk Cruiser seems to have some shield generator damage. I hope it can keep this up. The battle basically becomes a slugfest exchanging shots back and forth; apparently the Bulk Cruiser is starting the slow slip to defeat as there is even more shield generator damage. As soon as his shield generator is totally out, the Rebel fleet calls a retreat. My Carrack pounds in continuous salvos getting as many shots as possible, but unfortunately the enemy ships jump out. My Carrack has minor damage, but I don't expect to see that Bulk Cruiser for some time. After some time, the enemy has returned to Triffis for another attack on my Carrack Light Cruiser. This time the damaged Bulk Cruiser has remained at Ando and a Mon Cal Cruiser has accompanied the Corellian Corvette. Two A-wings race to my ship eager for the kill. I exchange several shots, hoping to damage if not destroy one of them before it becomes too late. The first shot from the Mon Cal strikes home, and it's time to call for the retreat. The Mon Cal is pouring on the fire, and the Carracks shields are starting to collapse. I make the jump to hyperspace just as the final shots hit my ship; the shield generator is now destroyed. The enemy fleet retreats back to their base. My ship continues its transort duties for Bin Essada in the sector, but I'll definitely have to be careful until the ship is fully repaired, and reinforcements arrive. Bin Essada has convinced Kalarba to join the Empire, and Zolan has also joined! Tapani sector: The ACY's on Mrlsst, Bestine and Fondor are currently adding ASY's to Devaron. As soon as that task is complete, the updating of the older SY's to ASY's will commence. Devaron is currently constructing an ISD, while Abregado is constructing more Lancer Frigates (after completion of the 2nd Escort Carrier). Devaron has launched an ISD, and is now producing Tie Interceptors. I'm consilidating my fleet at Fondor and sending them all to Saccoria:Corellian sector for raiding purposes. The Tie Interceptors at Devaron are complete and now two ISD's are needed for this sectors defense. Unknown sector: Margrathea and Earth MK II have joined the Empire, as well as Othala. I've sent Bin Essada and Pter Thanas to Thermia and Vulcan, repsecitvely. After several weeks every system in the Unknow sector (save Bob) supports the Empire. I just have to bring support upto 100% on all systems. Bin Essada has boarded a Carrack Cruiser for Triffis:Doldur sector to start diplomatic missions there. Pter Thanas will finish bringing remaining systems to 100%. My maintenace is currently ~1900. I have a small excess of raw materials, but things are still taking longer to manufacture than normal. The Rebel HQ has reappeared at Rampa in the Corporate sector. I have explored all sectors, and have sent some Star Galleons to start colonizing the Moddell, Ison and Sluis Sectors. 165
