  1. Looking for ideas and designs for site images - full size banners and buttons, logos, anything else... Animate it, or not.. play with colors, or not. http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=6 Also, see if you can make any for Warlords, Rebellion Reloaded, SWR.net.. THANXS!
  2. Activision isn't LucasArts ... I thought Activision only did "Civilization: Call to Power" ?
  3. The whole shortcut is dependent on where you installed HW2
  4. Specifically which mirror are you using to download from? Are you using a download manager or something else like that?
  5. It has worked just fine for everyone else. Where are you downloading from?
  6. Well most of the time, you'll need to end up compiling things to get it to run. That is, time to figure out how to use "make" - most scripts include a Makefile to do the compiling in a simple batch I'm not too sure how drivers are done, as I haven't really installed any of those myself. May depend on recompiling the kernel .. I know my friend did that a few times to get my linux system to work There also many be some precompiled packages that could help. It looks like SuSe uses one called YaST - maybe that could help you install things
  7. I beat the demo in like 20 minutes. Seriously, while I didn't have any high expectations, I am not feeling it for this game. It tries to incorporate a bunch of things and fails at it all.. Rebellion - the galactic model is taken from Rebellion essential, no sectors, just planets. You have to move from paths connecting each planet. There's even turns where you get a certain amount of credits per turn. That's where the resemblance ends. Rebel forces can see planets controlled by the Empire, the Empire must use probe droids to spy. "Missions" seem only to relate to special units you receive - Smugglers (steal credits for RA) and the Bounty Hunters (as smuggler-killers). I'd really much rather play Rebellion Space battle - I'd much rather see Homeworld 2 here, but all I get is Star Trek Armada. Even the use of "nebulas" to restrict the movement.. it feels just like a typical 2D map. The targetting of "hardpoints" just seems unnecessary.. space battles go really fast Ground battle - since you build everything in the galaxy view, ground battle is a matter of taking out the enemies base with whatever units you are given. You can get reinforcements, but that is capped by having control points. You just get squads of troopers and vehicles. Nothing too fancy. The maps seem rather limited like the space ones. It doesn't seem to take too much tactics, just to go around their defenses to the power generator. Kill that, and you can easily win with bombing runs. Just keep calling in the reinforcements until you win. I think I'd rather play Force Commander here, control points seem to be less strategic for EaW While I admit I didn't have the graphics settings high on my system, I'm not impressed by the graphics. I know this is a demo and all, so I can't judge everything. Maybe the complete game will be better. But my guess is that this will be like Force Commander... overhyped and slammed by the reviews.
  8. Then it means you have a corrupt file and you will need to download it again
  9. Ah they were all for eyecandy. Don't really expect them to know Star Wars..
  10. Personally I prefer Insaniquarium or 3D Pong..
  11. Because EaW isn't going to be the same game as Rebellion
  12. You really should not be transfering the entire DLLs unless it is all your own content. Safer to create an installer I recommend uploading on http://www.filefront.com
  13. You'd have to talk to Eville, but I'm sure he'll tell you no. Please resize your avatar - it is definitely too big for these forums
  14. Eville said that the mine ability was necessary for ships to shoot down missiles. Reinforcement mode isn't designed for someone to "win" - the purpose is is really to test out the ships
  15. If the opposite of pro is con, is the opposite of progress 'Congress'? Okay, so a political joke that reminded me of.. anyway, move along...
  16. *cough* http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/forum30.html
  17. * cough * .. wow you can put a year on your galaxy! It has planets too... would your galaxy have also have things called ... spaceships? Perhaps if you get a full page of your original ideas, you may get someone interested. Until then, you should work on your writing style - especially grammar and puntuation. You cannot tell me what to do on my site.. so topic closed.
  18. How about posting your own creative ideas, rather than mooching off other people? Closed
  19. Guess their host is down.. we'd be happy to host then
  20. Turn your injection level and frequency down. If the RU maxes out, it will turn negative like that
  21. I'm a keyboard'n'mouse person myself. Give me classic X-Wing or Tie Fighter any day.
  22. That's not even top specs these days. Mostly you'd need a more powerful video card.. much cheaper than buying the new console and all the accessories it requires.
  23. The recommend specs for those games doesn't look to bad. They are suggesting Pentium 4, 1 GB RAM, 256 MB Radeon 9800 at least. That's about $400 U.S. I could probably buy the parts and build it myself for that much, not including accesories such as monitor, speakers, etc.
  24. Well Agathon, I think SWC is convoluted too But ideas for a sim are easier than actually implementing one. You have to have the right people working together. And if any person can't control themselves, you'll have flaring battles and politics. I've seen too much of that myself. SWCIC had much grander goals, while it was a part of another sim. But frankly, very little got accomplished, despite the thousands of posts of dicusssion. So we're working small, trying to get things done with the manpower we have - a small dedicated group
  25. Testing.. since DarthTex can't seem to post here
