  1. Allow the ability for multiple eras? Too complicated? At least, allow some kind of setting on where to start... pre-Galactic Civil War and post. The appropriate infrastructure and settings should allow for different starting point for gameplay.
  2. Okay, sorry. I thought we were talking Sins. Never mind about the converter As far as I know, for HW2, all the scripts are plain-text. I've never had a problem reading them.
  3. Where is HW2 installed? What is the entire line in the target box?
  4. Wow very cool. You may just want to summarize your posts and link us to the full-text on your site. That way, you draw interest from our site back to yours
  5. There is a converter in the Sins folder. You will need to run through command line
  6. What exactly is it doing? What error are you getting?
  7. You may need to convert from binary to text
  8. I don't speak for Eville, but I'm guessing he could use your help for the next release, getting it compatible for Entrenchment. He's always been pretty liberal about the use of his models, so long as there is proper credits given (a link to his site usually works). Hopefully he'll contact you, as I'm sure he could use a good Sins modder
  9. Storm over Ryloth - a more typical Clone Wars story... Anakin and Asoka find a way to break a Separatist blockade. That's what I want to see, more Jedi vs Separatist battles, not Padme drama

Are you running the converter to go from binary to text?
  11. Glad you found us. If you're looking for an opponent, check here viewforum.php?f=22
  12. As in, a username/password that you want to use. Since this is built on phpNuke, its a slightly different authentication system used. It won't change how the forums run, but will get you access to post News on the main page and more.
  13. See: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2443
  14. Essentially yes. No one is working on it

Cool stuff, I like it. Of course its totally up to Eville..
  16. Correct. Every real programming language should let you declare "bob = 3" and use "bob" as a variable
  17. The closest "compete" mod I would say is Rebellion Reloaded. Massive effort there, but the team has gone on to other things now
  18. Essentially there are too many chiefs and not enough indians We probably don't all agree what's a good design... nor would we want to sit down and program "someone else's game" design. This is why there are game studios - designs to make the game and programmers to implement them. Not to say that programmers don't have input, but ultimately there's a business model and a certain amount of leadership. The overhead requirement to do it generally means you need enough people to quit their day-job
  19. Generally you can name the variables anything you want (within limits, certain characters are special.. and some are keywords)

Great excellent Is the mod not working with 1.14? If not, maybe downgrade until its solved. I haven't updated myself, I can certainly test on 1.13
  21. AI is actually pretty complicated. Getting a computer to do something that players naturally do is tough. Our brains are extremely complicated, much more than any computer. If multiplayer (which Monopoly isn't), you are best just to have each player input their transactions the same way. Second, you're not going to crack SW Monopoly and get it to any useful code you can use. It is binary code... compiled for specific OS (Windows). All you'll get is assembly; reading that is like looking at a screw and saying "oh now I can build a suspension bridge" Not to discourage you of course. It should be a fun hobby. I would definitely say go for it.
  22. Even Monopoly is quite complicated, if you figure all the necessary rules to do it. I would say, forget about graphics at this point. Do something simple with basic Windows forms ... C# may have some more overhead, Visual Basic is easier to pick up. Either of them will do enough without too much complication. It's good you have a project to tackle though. It makes easier to have a goal. I wouldn't tackle pure C/C++/Java (or DirectX, XNA, etc) just yet. You learn a lot, but you may get bored or trip over the complicated stuff.
  23. I wouldn't believe so, if your stable enough Internet connection (not dialup) it really shouldn't matter.
  24. I had to change those to links... for all of us that don't have high screen resolutions Sorry that isn't a simple thumbnail feature Looks like very cool work though
  25. Can't believe this thread has gone idle... http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2051/69/17/1301734/n1301734_34411830_4631.jpg
